Really pleasant meal, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. The food is full of flavour and ingredients generous compared to many of the well known Italian chains. Speaking to other diners, it’s clear many come back regularly and you can see why. Looking forward to going back to this little gem.
Had a wonderful lunch with my daughter here. Despite the terrible weather the welcome was warm and the ambience was fabulous. We went for three course set lunch menu and we were surprised by the size of the meals!! We expected a slightly smaller plate but the portions were generous, hot and very tasty. We will definitely be back.
A relaxed setting suitable for both short visits and longer conversations. The overall tone remains steady and pleasant.
Honestly when I go for an Italian restaurant the food has to be good. I haven't rated the atmosphere as I haven't dined in there properly I've only had a takeaway from there. Despite the kitchen shutting the waiter managed to get me a meal for takeaway which for me big credit to the restaurant for that. The veal milanese was delicious, it's hard to make both the veal and the spaghetti taste equally delicious from a cardboard box and yet the pasta sauce was sweet and delicious and the veal was cooked to perfection. If you're looking for a decent Italian restaurant in the Surrey area I'd definitely stop by Ciao Italia as the food is as good as you'd get back in Italy where some of my family live.
I came here to celebrate a 70th birthday with the family, and we had a lovely evening. The staff were excellent, friendly and very patient lol. There were 9 of us in total and all of us loved the food. I would highly recommend this place for all scenarios its excellent and the portion sizes are great. It isn't cheap here but! The service, the food and the environment are worth the cost in my opinion.
Love this restaurant. Been 4-5 times and always been great food and great service!
Really loved our family meal here. Nothing was too much trouble. Portion sizes are very generous. (Had to take some home) very tasty too. Friendly atmosphere and relaxed dining. Highly recommend
Friendly welcome, fabulous food and atmosphere. A real gem.
Beautiful restaurant , best Italian for miles around. We are returning guests , well priced wine list , fantastic pasta , best lasagna and great service. We will be back it’s a special restaurant with a great atmosphere and fantastic service, thank you!
The food was absolutely superb. We were a group of 14 and everyone was completely happy with their choices. I had the whitebait, sea cream and then squeezed in a dessert too as they were too good to resist. My only criticism is that the soft drinks are over priced for the small bottles that they are. As a non drinking driver I paid more than those that ate the same but had wine.
This is a must visit! Consistently good service, excellent food with generous portions, friendly staff and very spacious and well designed restaurants. We have been going for years and have never been disappointed
Very lovely food, served quickly and very wonderful staff. Good selection of food and drink, can be quite crowded and prices are slightly high
Delicious Italian food with exceptional service.
Lovely meal here, good food with great service. Gluten free pasta available
Excellent Sunday Lunch Just had some excellent food in the newly furnished Italian restaurant and great value. Everyone in the family group commented how nice their meals were. The staff were very attentive and even though the restaurant was busy the food was served in a timely manner. We had the fixed price lunch which was excellent value at £20 a head with good portions. The new interior also added to the enjoyment. Recommended.
Good food and great service. There is seating inside and also outside in an area with a canopy. I had the fish of the day for my main course, which was beautifully cooked, textured and seasoned. Very good Italian food and worth a visit.
Very friendly service, great food with a good quality wine list to complement it. Popular destination on a Saturday night, and restaurant has pleasing decor which is likely to be admired by your friends. There is a public car park behind the shops on the other side of the road, so parking isn't an issue. Definitely worth a visit if you haven't sampled this family run restaurant yet!
Visited this restaurant on Saturday 25th to celebrate my daughters birthday. Surprisingly spacious restaurant with a nice ambience and very friendly staff. Excellent menu choice which was served swiftly. Highly recommended, many thanks
We also had sea bream which was lovely. We had soups Chicken liver pate for starters. We liked everything we had deserts was nice cheese cake . Ice creams all tasty. It’s a very nice restaurant.
My wife and I have recently been introduced to this restaurant by Caroline and my wife's God Daughter Amy. It is not difficult to find a place to park. The welcome is so friendly, even if you are new. The menu was varied on both the occasions we visited. The service is attentive without being pushy. The restaurant is roomy, airy and very comfortable. All in all a very enjoyable and comfortable way to spend 4 hours with appetising food, a varied selection of fine wines and hosts that are pleased to serve or be as invisible as you require.
My favourite restaurant in the high street, a real GEM for Banstead
Gorgeous food! Went on a Monday and was surprisingly busy! I requested a birthday surprise last minute and they happily obliged! Will defo be back!
The food is excellent, and the service is exquisite. They are friendly, polite, and cater to your needs in a loving way. We have been there several times, and service hasn't changed. We will definitely go there again.
The food is pricey but worth it. Really tasty and have never had a bad meal here. Staff are always so welcoming and go the extra mile. Well worth a visit!
Beautifully presented and deliciously cooked food and a very strong menu on fish. I don't know of anywhere else locally that serves Dover sole, and this was a real treat. Service and attention from staff was impeccable. I would highly recommend the mixed grilled fish and one of my guests had the sardines which looked absolutely divine. Considering I live 112 miles away I would more than happy come here again.
Great food, nice staff.
Delicious food and excellent service. I have been to Ciao Italia multiple times now, and each time I am a satisfied customer. Each dish I have had has been superb, very tasty and there is a great selection on the menu. We do usually book in advance to reserve a table as it has been busy at times, but usually mid week is a bit quieter. I would highly recommend Ciao Italia and will definitely be back soon.
I held a dinner for 46 people at Ciao Italia at the weekend, and it went superbly well, from start (meaning the planning) to the finish. The service was attentive without being intrusive, the food was delicious and the atmosphere almost perfect. "Almost", because if we do it again, we will give more thought to the acoustics and table layout, as the ambient noise level meant that, as one of our guests put it, Brian Blessed in full flow would have struggled to make himself heard.
Service good, friendly staff, nice decor, well thought out layout of restaurant all on one level with disabilities access and facilities. Food excellent. Took a little while to arrive, but that's because it is all cooked fresh. The complimentary bread basket is welcome whilst you wait. Would recommend and will definitely return.
It's a very good local restaurant. Definitely popular and this was at lunchtime when I visited. We had the set Christmas menu. They had gf options which suited me. Clearing the plates took a while but that's to be expected due to the packed tables. First time I've been and I'll definitely go again.
Lovely food, quite expensive but worth it. The scallops for starters were absolutely perfectly cooked! Service was amazing, quick, friendly and attentive. It was quite loud inside with other tables loud conversations but maybe I'm just sensitive to sounds lol. Would definitely come back!
An enjoyable evening with tasty food and for me, the perfect portion size. So often restaurants give too much. I had the pollo caricature and the cheesecake from the set menu. Service good, friendly and unobtrusive allowing us to chat undisturbed
The food was tasty but unfortunately for us the experience was ruined a little bit by the fact it took us nearly an hour and a half just to get our starters. Overall we had 2 courses and 1 drink each and it cost us £86 - so a little overpriced for what we got. The waiters were friendly but they were clearly understaffed for the amount of customers there! Not sure I would go back due to the disappointing experience.
As both myself and many friends live locally we tended to frequent the restaurant regularly over many years. Unfortunately over the last year we have found the prices to have increased regularly with definitive smaller portions being served to almost starter level. I do note a previous client has remarked on the waiters and agree their attitude towards paying customers have changed of late and is disappointing. The front of house manager is always delightful but not always there to oversee what exactly happens on the floor. I am sorry to write this review but feel very strongly about pointers mentioned above.
We were not expecting hugs but we didn't find the servers very welcoming, no hello, no welcome, no thank you or goodbyes. First visit to a restaurant for a sit down meal after 1.5 years and it was disappointing as it was for my birthday. We sat outside which was fine as the weather was kind to us until we got to the desserts. However, the starter was very disappointing, bland and unattractive as you can see from the pictures. The soup was bland and not tasty and thank god I asked for salt, otherwise my husband would not have ate it. The lamb chops was fine, the chicken under cooked but the rest acceptable. Overall, very disappointed and will not be returning as it was not worth what we paid.
Oh dear, what a disappointment. We were really looking forward to our evening out with a group of friends. Shame we were placed so close to another large party that the seating was very cramped. The gamberoni starters were cold and there was an additional £4 supplement, which was excessive as there were only four small ones on the plate! The main meal was cold and my husband sent his back. Apparently some of the other meals were the same but they didn’t say anything so just left their food. Desserts mediocre but the Christmas pudding was a joke, just a tiny rectangle with a pot of cold custard. Very disappointing and I honestly don’t know what everyone raves about. Trying to pay the bill was farcical. We literally had to queue up and go through everything we’d had so they could add it up. This took ages and was very unprofessional for such a large restaurant. We were surprised at the cost of our meal and wine especially as it was so disappointing. However, on a good note the company was great!
We returned to Ciao Italia yesterday after having such a lovely experience on our previous visit, so it’s disappointing to say this visit fell well below expectations. On arrival, there was no one to greet us at the door. I had specifically requested comfortable seating when booking, yet we were abruptly told to sit at a different table that wasn’t even set up for the number of guests in our party. After some back and forth, we were eventually seated where we had asked — but not without unnecessary argument. The tone and manner in which this was handled were not appropriate. Staff should know how to speak to customers respectfully. While the food quality itself remains good, the overall service was disorganised. The pâté arrived without the onions and we had to ask for them. My mum’s tea was forgotten. I requested two separate scoops of gelato and they were served together. Individually these might seem minor, but collectively it felt chaotic and poorly managed. There was an event taking place and it was clear the team were overwhelmed and under-resourced. Unfortunately, that shouldn’t translate into a poor experience for paying customers. We left feeling disappointed, which is frustrating given how much we enjoyed our previous visit. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and acted upon.
The restaurant is beautiful and laid out very nicely with outside dining that’s not roadside. The surf and turf was also very tasty. The let downs are for a £35 surf and turf I anticipated much more in terms of quantity. The service was also, dare I say it, rude. Perhaps it’s because we’re not regulars… should this make a difference? We didn’t order desert. We paid our forced 10% service charge begrudgingly and made for Tesco to pick up an ice cream! Such a shame.
Sadly we experienced a very bad night for our valentines evening meal.. We waited over 35 minutes to be seated even though we booked at 8pm along with lots of other customers.. The food was poorly cooked,, under cooked scallops & over cooked prawns & lobster tail so dry, the drinks we ordered came out all wrong…. All in all for a very pricey evening we was very very disappointed……
I was sooo disappointed in the roast dinner today. It was advertised as with all the trimmings.. I had a leg of chicken, not even enough meat to fill a sandwich, 3 small roast potatoes, a few green beans and carrots sat on top of puréed something. That was it ! No stuffing hardly any gravy. Definitely won’t go back in a hurry.
Ciao we just left so horrible experience of valentines dinner! We had a table book for 7.00pm We got set menu. We waited 35 mins to order drinks then after 20 mins they took food order and still no drinks then they forgot 3 times for the cocktail missing After 30 mins starters came then 40 mins later mains arrive and still no cocktail and taste just water. We got polo milaneses chicken raw pink inside we just left it the staff no care what’s so ever! Atmosphere was so bad music was playing every other hour very lound or Notting 45 mins later Deserts arrive. Overall 1 start and on top we payed over 200 for poor service Sad thing my wife goes all the time and sad not going there any time soon!!!!
Ate here on a Saturday evening in a nice outdoor area but that was the only positive thing about this restaurant. We were stood at the door for five minutes with members of staff whizzing round but not welcoming us to the restaurant. We were then taken through a very messy and cluttered restaurant to our seats outside. Once we were seated we were browsing the menu (there is quite a large choice of food), a member of staff asked if we were ready to order and we asked politely for one more minute to decide. His reply "You need to get out!". After a discussion he clarified that we only had two hours for the table but we felt he was quite rude. This frostiness continued when he took our food order. I ordered the mushroom risotto which cost £14 and was disappointed after it came out of the kitchen 5-10 minutes later (surely not made fresh) and it was very below par. It had no taste and the peas were like bullets, I have had better ready meals. My partner did enjoy her Clam Spaghetti however again this didn't appear to be made fresh. After our meal we were only halfway through our drinks when they plonked the bill on the table, we felt very rushed and unwelcome when we wanted to have a nice evening out. They also put a 10% service charge on our bill, which we asked to take off as we thought they were actually quite rude throughout our time there. We wouldn't go here again and would advise others not to also.
