I went here with my uncle for a pre birthday meal, and it was a perfect choice of restaurant. Fine dining aesthetic but not so bougie you feel you can't sit down or go in if you're not totally smartly dressed. The aesthetic is on point for a bit more of an up-market feel, it's nice to see a Caribbean restaurant do such a thing, and believe this is also owned by the Jerk Garden (Crofton Park) owner, which has a similar look & feel. I had the roti & panang, prawns, lamb chop and rice and peas. All dishes were served to perfection, the roti was such a nice texture and went perfectly with the curry, the prawns were breadcoated and were crisp, the lambs were well done and had a sweet and spice sauce to accompany them (a bit of an oxtail taste). We missed dessert on this occasion as we were stuffed! But would have tried the Guinness cheesecake for sure! Service was on point, Angel was very attentive and even gave us some suggestions for food and drink. He seems very knowledgeable and liked his job. I wouldn't say it's kid friendly to be honest, chairs are suede and tables are too low form high chairs it feels, but I could be wrong. There is an upstairs which was closed when I went there, it opens at 6 but still had a nosey, (as I do) it's less bougie than downstairs, but still a nice space and seats 30 people for private functions too etc. Really wish this new restaurant all the best, it's a 10/10 spot. Date night, family, catch up. Can't really speak on atmosphere as it was quite quiet when we were there, (day time Saturday 1pm) however, we had a great time and created our own vibe! I'd probably recommend a reservation ahead of time for evening bookings as I'm guessing it gets quite busy. I'll be back definitely.
A wonderful time was had by all our guests at our daughter’s 30th birthday celebration on 30th December 2025. When our original venue fell through with just a week to go, you truly stepped up. You cooked a delicious feast for 80 people that went down an absolute storm. Everyone was more than satisfied, and many went back for seconds and thirds. The personalised, renamed cocktails flowed all night, and the atmosphere and ambience were fantastic. A huge thank you to Marva and Gema, management, the bar staff, and the lovely waitress. I’m so sorry I’ve forgotten her name. She was an absolute star and so friendly and helpful throughout the evening. We also loved that the staff participated in the celebrations and even donned the sunglasses and glow sticks, which made the night feel even more special and welcoming. You came through for us with only a week to organise, and we’re incredibly grateful. We truly appreciate everything you did and will most definitely be back.
This place was absolutely fantastic! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is electric. Classic Jamaican tunes set the perfect vibe and really complement the whole experience. The food was outstanding; bursting with flavour, and beautifully balanced. Big shout out to the chef for delivering such incredible food! I highly recommend the callaloo spring rolls as they are an absolute must try. You can really taste the fusion creativity throughout the menu. The drinks were just as impressive stunning in both presentation and flavour. Another big shout out to Aaron, whose service was cocktails were next level. Everyone has to try the exotic piña colada! The service overall was exceptional. Every member of staff was warm, friendly, and full of positive energy, which made the experience even better. Special mention to Fethi, the manager, who was incredibly welcoming and transparent - you can really tell he cares about the guests and the quality of the experience. I’d 100% recommend this place and can’t wait to come back! ☺️
10/10 experience! Fantastic food! Service was wonderful. We visited Palms for a family birthday, during the second week of September (they told us that Palms had been open for only a week). Wow wow wow - the drinks and starters were absolutely delicious. Cocktails packed with punch and the chicken wings and calamari did not disappoint. Our mains took a while to arrive, however when they did, we couldn’t stop salivating! Every single thing was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Cannot fault anything we ate. We will absolutely be back and make this our local spot. Thank you to Gemma & Marva (the owners of Palms), for putting the Caribbean on the map on Beckenham high street :) Wishing this business all the best x
Banging food!! Lovely management really made us feel welcome and blessed soon as we arrived. Food was delicious from start to finish and had a real caribbean taste to it ! It was so nice i had to have it twice! I ordered Starters, Mains and desert and went back again to starters! Rum punch cocktail was the best cocktail! We Can’t wait to go back! Thanks for nice evening guys! Danny
A fantastic afternoon served by Keaton who was entertaining and attentive. It was lovely to hear about the history of the venue alongside the journey of the proprietor who has several other venues in the SE of london. Food was great i would have liked to of seen a few other items on the menu however what was presented was tasty and pleasing to the eye. Unfortunately the pudding of our choice (Guinness punch cheesecake) was not available however we were invited back to sample a piece free of charge. Cocktails were well made and also enjoyed. I would be happy to return hoping this is a fine dining Caribbean that will stand the test of time.
Palms Caribbean Fusion offers an exceptional dining experience that's worth every penny. The menu is packed with flavourful dishes, each perfectly seasoned to tantalise your taste buds. Don't miss their mac and cheese—it's a must-try! What truly sets this place apart is the atmosphere. Keaton's warm and welcoming presence makes you feel right at home, while the stunning decor provides the perfect backdrop for memorable photos. Whether you're there for the food, the ambiance, or the drinks, Palms Caribbean Fusion delivers on all fronts. It's a delightful spot that promises a great time and leaves you eager to return.
Had a great experience here on saturday. Food was good and well presented. Great value for money and service was attentive. Will definitely visit again!
Birthday celebration, GREAT food, GREAT atmosphere and the STAFF are LOVELY. 4 stars for the drinks service because we had to ask the waiter for drinks when we arrived rather than being approached. During the meal we had the same problem ordering drinks. That said we will return because it was GREAT!
I came here a couple of days after Christmas with my husband and 2 children and we all loved it! The jerk platter, Mac & Cheese and seafood curry were amazing. We also met with the owner and she was so lovely. You can tell a lot of effort, care and passion has gone into curating the menu. Also the sink in the toilet was oddly beautiful!
Fantastic food, flavourful and tender. Staff were great and very attentive. The food is honestly the best, every meal was spot on even the pineapple juice was top notch.
Rum punches are amazing Chicken wings and spring rolls are also incredible. All round great experience will definitely be coming back x
came to try this new place 13/9/25 and the food was amazing drinks were extra strong and the service from Keaton was amazing will definitely be back especially if he’s on the floor ! :) the exotic colada was the best drink !
Food was so good and fresh. Keaton was great and friendly. Lovely family dinner
This place is very nice. The ambience is lovely and the staff are wonderful.
I visited on Valentine's Day and everything was great! Especially loved the rum punch and jerk chicken. The team definitely made an extra effort to make sure everyone was happy and the playlist was very good 👌
Went there for a best friend son’s birthday last night. Absolutely amazing portions are good. The pepper steak is to die for I wish I could try all the menu really really nice about time for such a great Caribbean restaurant to be opened. definitely I will be back . The prices of reasonable rum punch is amazing. Guinness punch is Amazing, wish I could’ve tried more. Definitely will be coming back 100 percent. Thank you for a great experience xx
The restaurant is exceptionally appointed. The food was great and a nice variety of authentic tasting food. As if I was back home. I met the owner and her daughter. Lovely people.
I've dined at Palms three times with different friends, and each visit has reaffirmed its excellence. The starters — jerk and chilli wings, roti, and crispy fried squid — are consistently delicious. The firecracker rice, escovitch fish, and curry mutton with rice and peas are bursting with flavor. The broccoli side is cooked to perfection every time. The rum punch is an outstanding cocktail, and the sorrel mocktail is equally impressive. This is the first Caribbean restaurant in Beckenham that reliably delivers authentic, well-spiced dishes. I recommend reducing the batter on the squid for an even better experience. Additionally, keep the cocktails consistent — the second round of cocktails and mocktails was slightly sweeter than the first, but this doesn't detract from the overall excellence. The restaurant's interior is stunning and worth visiting just to admire it. Lastly, the waiter Buster Keaton was friendly and attentive.
This is by far the best western Indian food I have ever had. I had curry goat and rice and my husband had the oxtail. We had mac and cheese, plantin and wok veg. The portions were generous, although the restaurant is priced but well worth it. Cocktails were nice. Ambience was lovely, great service, overall a very nice evening out. The decor is also stunning inside and out. Well done Palms restaurant l.
My family and l were foot fall customers who were greeted by a friendly member of staff and found a table for four without any wait time. The menu was simple with a few signature dishes making choosing our meals simple along with a cocktail, punch and soft drinks that were served promptly. Our meals were served after an acceptable wait period, the flavours were good l especially enjoyed the curry goat on the bone seasoning was good with peppers you could eat to add the heat or discard. Likewise the jerk lamb was extremely tasty along with the chicken, mac n cheese, fries and steamed coconut rice. Well worth dropping in to a great setting and atmosphere with friendly helpful staff with a bar selection of cocktails, punches and rums for a drink or with your meal while a great selection of music loud enough to listen and enjoy but still being able to hold a conversation without raising your voice. Overall a great experience for dining but l also found out there is the capability to host private events upstairs for 20 - 40 people where your own music can be enjoyed with dedicated service for your guest in a beautiful setting.
Took my 19 year old daughter for her 19th birthday family meal and we had an amazing experience. The atmosphere was lively, the food was unbelievably tasty and the service was spot on. I would moan definitely recommend and I will be visiting again very soon.
The decor was my first impression and it is wow! The oldie world look meets the Caribbean, heavy oak furniture with matching wall panels, black cast iron lights and intricate designs. I loved the water colour paintings depicting island life! The hospitality was top notch, my group and I didn’t make a reservation but we were treated with value. Our food and drinks were authentic, I know because I am of Jamaican descent and we are fussy! The portion sizes were to everybody’s satisfaction, I am looking forward to going back.
Excellent owner and hostess. The food had good presentation and was quite tasty perhaps little less salt. Although the portions are daiir in size. The honey glazed wings are delightful. Price are very reasonable and within reach I'd the regular joe.
Had great time at the restaurant food was nice I would've liked more plantain. There set menu for Sunday was very good I recommend sticky toffe pudding Angel took care of our needs funny great experience he be reason we come back
Had lunch today with my sister. The welcome from when we arrived, the care from staff during our meal without being intrusive, the food and atmosphere was fantastic and I will definitely return. This restaurant is a much needed and classy addition to Beckenham High Street.
Angel served us on arrival and he made sure he we were served quickly, was accommodating with our requests and equally recommended good food from the menu and also recommended a good drink option as well. He made the experience 10/10 The food was really good and the ambience was perfect. Often music can be too loud but it was the right balance. Will definitely be coming back and I’ll happily look forward to Angel serving us again
Fantastic dinner served by Angel, who made our evening feel truly special as we celebrated my mum’s birthday at Palms. From the moment we arrived, his hospitality, attention, and genuine care set the perfect tone for a wonderful night. The food was a definite 10/10, every dish packed with vibrant flavours delivering a unique twist that delighted our taste buds. Beyond the food, the atmosphere at Palms added to the magic. The setting is stylish yet relaxed, and there’s a lovely vibe that makes it ideal for a celebration or special night out. The friendly, attentive staff and the overall warmth of the place really made the evening for us. All in all, if you’re looking for a spot to celebrate something special (or simply treat yourself to something great), Palms Caribbean Fusion is a gem. We’ll definitely be back, and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone wanting top-notch food and a wonderful, welcoming experience.
Had a lovely lunch - what a great meal. A great find in Beckenham. Great selection of food and beverages. Portions were just right and flavoursome. Staff was attentive and not intrusive. Angel, the manager, looked after us well. Will definitely be visiting again.
Upon arrival we was greeted by the friendly staff. They were very professional but also very funny and easy to talk too. Service was quick, food was lovely and flavoursome. I recommend the roti and oxtail. The chef came out at one point and all the customers clapped for him because his food is excellent and tasty. Overall 10/10 and will recommend to friends and family.
A Wonderful Lunch at Palms! What a treat it was to visit Palms today! A group of five of us, all friends, came in for lunch. We used to frequent the restaurant when it had its previous Lebanese concept, so we were genuinely excited to try the new menu. We all decided on the set 2-course lunch, and everyone chose something different; every single dish was absolutely excellent! The service was just perfect: attentive but relaxed, making for a truly enjoyable, unhurried meal. The setting itself is gorgeous; the location used to be a charming gentlemen's outfitter, and it still retains so much of that lovely, old-world character. I honestly highly recommend this restaurant. It is such a refreshing change to have a Caribbean fusion option in Beckenham's busy dining scene! I sincerely hope they thrive and stick around for a long time so everyone gets a chance to try them.
Great find in Beckenham. The interior is done beautifully and as it was raining outside, was great to be sitting for drinks and dinner in this lovely place. The cocktails were good and we ordered starters and mains at the same time as it was quite busy. The squid was excellent, not chewy at all and the lamb chops were done so well and spicy! Jerk chicken was average but very tender. The mutton curry was also great but felt bit on the runny side ( maybe its just personal preference) . All rice dishes were superb! We also tried the rum cheese cake (and def had rum !) And mango cheesecake- both exceptional. Great chef and staff. Def going for the next visit.
Angel and his team were most attentive and hospitable. There was a good breadth of options on the menu. I had jerk lambs which were flavourful and tender. The 5 spice honey wings were also really good! The decor was tasteful. I would recommend. Visiting Palms for a nice evening meal. Thank you Angel!
First class interior and service. While it’s ok to have some fusion dishes, you also need some authentic Caribbean dishes like brown stew chicken on the menu. (Curry chicken needs to be replaced with traditional recipe and taste) Would be nice to have some Caribbean music in the background also. I believe with a few tweaks this could become the go to Caribbean restaurant in London, taking the place of the legendary Mango Rooms in Camden.
I recently visited Palms Caribbean Fusion and had a really good experience overall. The food does take a little time to come out, but that’s because it’s freshly cooked — and you can definitely taste the difference. The flavours were on point. I honestly can’t complain. The platter portion is ideal for one person, and very satisfying. The cocktails were nice and well made, and the service was very polite and welcoming. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with smiles. The atmosphere is great — perfect for couples, birthday celebrations, or large groups. They have big tables for groups and both upstairs and downstairs seating options. The reggae music playing while you dine really adds to the Caribbean vibe. Overall, I had a good experience for Jamaican food. Good vibes, good music, good energy. I’d definitely recommend it.
The food was delicious and they were big portions. I had the callaloo spring rolls ooh tastie, then main was mutton which was so tender… my husband had the Roti and gravy very nice then jerk chicken he said it was succulent with plenty of flavour. Hubby said Guinness punch was punching Rum cocktails good. Atmosphere was buzzing but you could hear yourself over the music which was a good mix. Staff were very friendly and helpful and attentive to you needs. Go try for yourselves x
While the atmosphere, musical selection, and cocktails were excellent, my second visit highlighted a significant issue with the waiting staff. Our main course was initially delivered to another table by mistake, leading to a considerable wait. Furthermore, when our dish was finally brought to us, there was no cutlery, resulting in a portion of the food being cold by the time we were equipped to eat it.
I was really looking forward to eating here but came away quite disappointed. The ambience, aesthetic and front of house staff had absolutely nothing to do with the Caribbean and felt more like a Turkish restaurant - which apparently it used to be. When our food came out it was OK but certainly nothing special with the jerk seasoning not having the lip tingle it should. Also the food was only like warm at best. Not one for us to go back to.
The food was a mixed experience. The set menu roast was nice and well cooked, no complaints there. However, the service let it down. We were made to feel rushed, with staff pushing a strict 1 hour 30 minute table time, which affected the overall experience. Our mac & cheese side was also sent to the wrong table, and when we raised it, the waiter took no accountability. Good food, but the service needs improvement.
Waited an hour for starters. Had to cancel mains. What we had was tasty but they need more kitchen staff. Keaton was friendly and calm, despite challenging circumstances and various tables not getting their food. The food that did come out was very nice but we had to cancel mains due to time constraints. Hope they work it out because the atmosphere was buzzing and I want to try the firecracker rice and mixed grill. Didn’t charge for drinks which was kind. Good luck!
Although I enjoyed my evening with friends, my food was distinctly average, or below average in places. However, cocktails were on point so kudos to the bar man. Service was chaotic. The serving staff were nice but just seemed a bit lost to be honest and I assume the owner was trying to be managerial but not really taking control of the service. There was lots of strutting up and down checking in on tables but where was the food? I was made to feel silly for asking for new cutlery which had been taken when our previous course was cleared away. I didn't know that you have to keep your cutlery, which seems low-class for a restaurant that's marketing itself as quality dining. Overall, it was just ok but I won't be hurrying back as they need to sort out their service. and as Caribbeans go, there are better ones very near by. If they can manage to improve service, even if the food is as it was, it would be a nice restaurant to go to as an alternative to what Beckenham already has too much of.
So I came here last Saturday with my friends. Unfortunately, our experience wasn't great - we ended up leaving. The woman who was serving our table was quite pushy and refused to take my starter order, as she was only taking drink orders. I've never had that happen at any restaurant, as I wasn't ordering a drink. We all thought her response was quite rude and not friendly at all. Then one of my friends asked a man about the dumplings, who I think he could have been the manager or a supervisor, as the servers went to him if they had any questions. He proceeded to mock Asian eyes by spreading his own eyes and laughing. My friends and I were not impressed, as it clearly wasn't funny and very offensive. Once he answered the question he walked off. We were all shocked as we actually wanted to order. He did not ask if there was something he could get us. By then we were over it. We asked for the bill (one of my friends had ordered a cocktail and the other a bottle of water before this all happened) and explained we weren't happy with the service. They tried to ask us to stay but there was no way we were going to stay in that atmosphere. The 2 stars are literally for the young server who was working her second day there, who was distressed by the environment she was working in - it wasn't pleasant to see. We encouraged her and hoped that she would find somewhere else better for her work wise. We ended up going to Sweet Jerk which is just 1 minute away. The complete opposite experience we had there. Would I recommend Palms Caribbean Fusion?! No way!
Tried Palms in Beckenham recently. It’s a nice addition to the area and the Caribbean fusion concept is different for Beckenham. The food was okay overall, nothing bad but nothing particularly memorable either. What unfortunately stood out much more was the atmosphere during service. As someone who has worked in hospitality, it genuinely wasn’t nice to witness. The manager was clearly not speaking to staff in a respectful way and at one point a staff member came out of the kitchen in tears, with another visibly upset. It made the environment uncomfortable and honestly quite awkward to sit through as a customer. After the manager left the premises the change was immediate. The staff relaxed, became warmer and more attentive, and the whole vibe improved drastically. I really hope this is addressed because the team themselves were lovely and you could tell they worked hard. A restaurant’s atmosphere starts behind the scenes, and customers can absolutely feel the difference.
Visited this restaurant for my work Christmas party and unfortunately, I will not be returning. On booking we were told we would have a private area upstairs for our own party, this was not the case and misleading. Firstly, we pre-ordered all our meals and still waited over 2.5 for our starters, the restaurant was supposed to close at 11pm and we were informed they will be closing at midnight due to an excessive delay with the food! Multiple mess ups with our drink orders, the Rum punch was ok, tasted quite weak. When the food eventually did arrive, our meat came out first then we waited 10 minutes for our sides which meant the food got cold… We ordered a variety of meals the oxtail/pepper steak/ jerk chicken/ jerk pork would rate about 3/10, did not taste like authentic Caribbean food. Firecracker rice and starters tasted much better. For the prices I was paying I definitely had higher hopes for both the food and drinks. It was now coming to the Bill and there were plenty of discrepancies with the food, DESPITE literally everything being preordered. There were extra sides and mains that had been added. When we brought this to the attention of the manager, he was rude and ignorant, no apology given on his end when it was a clear error. The only positive of our experience was the Owner coming to the table to try and resolve the issues and she very and nice and understanding. However, the negatives outweighed the overall experiences.
Let's start with the good because there's less to talk about here. The actual restaurant is gorgeous. Lovely decore and great music. I can't complain. And the cocktails; lovely. However, it's hard to mess up a cocktail, so I can't give too many props. Now to the bad...where do we start? The service was down right atrocious, we were a table of 8 and it took two hours from when the food was ordered, for it too arrive on our tables. No way to mince it, that's unacceptable. Even more so when you're seeing people who came after you, served. Now, I would imagine that the food would be at least warm...guess that was too high of an expectation. And on the food, the Mac and cheese tasted reheated and cold at the same time. The Rice and peas were dry. The jerk pork was fine but didn't taste jerk at all. Not worth the price point or the wait time. I also question the authenticity of the food being served, it felt heartless. This restaurant is as all look, no soul. Even the servers were kinda rude and far too slow. When the food eventually arrived, servers seemed to rush us to call out who had ordered what, appearing impatient and rude once again. Again, it shouldn't take 5 minutes to get a bottle of coke and a glass with some ice. Admittedly, it did look understaffed but that's on the management to properly accommodate the businesses of the restaurant. Overall, don't come here. You're wasting your money and your time. Do not let how good the restaurant and food looks, deceive you (and the Mac and cheese doesn't even look good).
First time here @ Cocos in Westow Hill, for a birthday gathering. *No meet and greet on entry. *No service with a smile. *No Food Hygiene Standard recognition present, on website or otherwise visible in restaurant. *No order check back given by waiting staff on reciept of order. *No check if food and table was okay, or opportunity to upsell, after food given. *A nice rustic decor. *A good compilation of Carribean music playing in the background, but unfortunately, it could not be heard fully at the back of the restaurant where i was sitting. *Cleanliness of venue: Toilets spotless. Bar surface clean. *Tables made of cut/varnished tree trunks, which were nice, but not cleaned properly, for the outside edges of the table where I sat, still had someone else's food crumbs caught in them. *Place was quiet for Friday, which surprised me, considering its reviews and Carribean/Eurpean Fusion food menu, which sounded great, reading it! However, the food was not great. *It lacked seasoning, and spice where it should have been, and was expected! *It came to the table cold, or luke warm, even raw, and on cold plates. *My £12:50 Scallops, served in the shell, where slightly overcooked, and lacked any seasoning at all, and only luke warm. I forgave it, and ate them, as i was hungry, and had waited 40 minutes for them to get to the table. *My £29 Crispy Skinned Salmon, was crispy, but was only hot on the outside, and cold and raw in the middle, swimming in its luke warm sauce, with one piece of wilted/overcooked Tenderstem Brocolli and no seasoning or spice, which I waited over an hour for it to reach the table. *The £4:50 plantain side i ordered did not come to the table at all. But those that did, and I tried a piece, it was not nice. It wasn't sweet Plantain, and it was cooked with its skin on, which was inedible due to its apparent caramelisation. I sent the Salmon dish back and asked it and the Plantain to be removed from the bill. This due to the fact, that when i told waiting staff the issue with my order, they offered a "reheat" not a fresh redo of my dish ordered, which put me off, after they tried to tell me "thats how they serve it". I had ordered a £4:50 skin on fries which came in a small metal chip basket, and thats what I ate for my main. And to top all that off, I ordered 1 Cocktail, I waited 20 mins for, which I sat and watched a bar staff member make twice over, before it came to me. Granted it was nice, and eventually well made, but I didn't bother to order another At £13:50. Our entire group dining waited on a whole 2 hours for food in the end. This because of the restaurant "not expecting our group booking", when a reservation & confirmation had been made with them. They put it down to "miscommunication". All in all... the service and food let this place down! Id have happily paid the prices asked for this type of fusion food, if it lived up to what it was asking... but unfortunately, it did not! I'll not be back, nor recommending in the future, unless changes are made! Thank you
Last week Saturday I thought I surprise my husband by taking out to dinner at Palms Caribbean Fusion. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation time. We were allocated table 9. Not an ideal position to be seated as we were right by the kitchen door. Traffic is heavy. Every time the kitchen door opened we felt a cold draft. A few minutes after we arrived a couple arrived. They were seated next to us on a 4 seater table. We read the menu. I wanted to try the sorrel. The waitress said they had run out of sorrel (at 8pm 😩). They had also run out of spring rolls. Our order was taken. Our drinks arrived after approximately 15 minutes. We waited around 20 minutes for our starters. My tiger prawns were cold in middle after my second bite. The waiter apologised and replaced it with one extra tiger prawn. Our order was taken before the table next to us, however they received their starters and main course before we received our main. We waited around 40 minutes for our main. All the waiters and waitresses could see our table was bare but not one checked what happened to our order. Everyone seem to receive their food on a tray. We were given our food one by one. One item was missing, the waitress didn’t know what was missing. My husband looked at the oxtail dish. It didn’t look like it will fall off the bone. He took one bite of his oxtail. It was grisly and had no flavour. He didn’t eat the rest. My fish curry wasn’t delicious but okay. The mac and cheese was fine. The grilled roti was oily. We asked for our bill. We were charged for 2 sets of tiger prawns. The waitress call the manager. He apologised and gave us 15% discount. Sorry to say we definitely wouldn’t go back or recommend.
I went to this restaurant on December 3 2025 in a party of approximately 25 people for refreshments after a funeral. The food was so late I had to leave without the desert while the rude staff ( a tall very fair man and a very young fair lady) smirked as I left . Yes they had ample time to prepare the food but they were unrepentant; absolutely full of rubbish excuses delivered in true aggressive style when staff are in contempt for their customers. I have never had an experience this bad in over 40 years ( I'm over 60) . I will never forget this awful experience but at least I will never eat at this poor quality restaurant again either. Food was more edible than enjoyable hence 2 stars and not 1!
We booked a table for 2 and arrived on time. We were told we had to wait, there was loads of tables we could have had. However, we felt the service was diabolical, when another table of 2 came in a good 15 mins after us and were seated straight away? We left as we just didn’t trust that the service was gonna be an enjoyable experience after that. So sad as we would have loved to have had a good experience and enjoy another local Caribbean restaurant.
After a good initial visit, I booked this restaurant for my partner’s 40th birthday for a group of 24. I paid a deposit in person and was instructed to submit pre-orders in advance, which I did five days before and confirmed by phone. Despite this, on the way to the restaurant, I was called and told there wasn’t enough fish and some guests would need to change their orders. That should have been the warning sign. Our booking was at 4:30pm and we didn’t leave until after 9:30pm. Service was painfully slow, mains were staggered across the table, some guests never received all of their food, and delays caused people to cancel dessert altogether. Desserts were a mess — items we didn’t order arrived, some we did order never came, and no one bothered to tell us when things had run out. We were seated upstairs and it genuinely felt like we were forgotten while other tables were prioritised. The whole pre-order system seemed completely pointless. What should have been a special milestone celebration turned into a frustrating and disappointing evening for everyone involved. Serious operational issues here — especially for large groups. I would not recommend this restaurant for large numbers of people!
