Loved this place ✨ The food was amazing, everything tasted so good. Service was super friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere had such great vibes, just a really nice spot overall. Definitely coming back!
Best spicy vegan ramen in Houston! And the tea is amazing. Opps ate most of it before picture🤣
Delicious ramen with rich, flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles. Friendly service and a cozy atmosphere—definitely a spot I’d come back to. 🍜⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Such a gem in the medical center!! We got there shortly after they opened and there was one table spot left. My 2 year old loved the kids ramen (comes free when you buy a full sized ramen), edamame and fries. I was thrilled to find high quality gluten friendly ramen near me! A bit short staffed as all places are but they are kind and doing their best! There was a long line at the door by the time we left! Glad the gem is getting traction!
Delicious! Staff friendly as well. Loved both starters: salt edamame and machine fries, unique taste on the fries I haven't had before. The vegan gachi Ramen was on the saltier side compared to the yuzo ship Ramen and truffle Ramen. Truffle Ramen brother definitely unique, yuzo more on the more regular chicken brother side but still good. Loved the shrimp dumpling in the yuzo and truffle.
Came for dinner on weekday evening We ordered a ramen bowl each (~$15) and the pork chasu rice ($6) as an appetizer. The food was pretty tasty: tonkatsu ramen soup felt like actually brewed pork soup (instead of instant powder) and the shoyu ramen was refreshing with “QQ” bouncy noodles. The ramen portion sizes were smaller but solid. I wouldn’t recommend $6 for a tiny serving of pork chasu rice. Service was friendly but slow. The owner and one other staff running the entire front of house were overwhelmed as they were also hosting and bussing tables while taking orders. Vibe is clean and cute with dim lights. It’s clear a lot of thought and planning went into designing the interior.
We loved the food here! The spicy chicken ramen was like a warm hug, packed with flavor and springy noodles. The shoyu chicken ramen had an incredibly complex flavor profile and was very well executed. I added a spice bomb to it half way through and that added even more depth- I would highly recommend trying it both ways! The restaurant had great ambiance which made it perfect for meeting friends or a date night- overall an intimate vibe. There was ample parking and the prices were fair considering the quality. We really enjoyed our experience and will be back!
Arrived at 6:03PM (opens at 6PM), and inside the restaurant, it was already full. There were continuous customers coming in and a line was forming outside. That itself already says a lot. Luckily enough, someone was leaving as we were coming in, so there wasn’t a wait. Tried multiple things on the menu: •Spicy Edamame ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ •Pan Fried Hanatsuki Gyoza ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ •Tako Karage ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ •Tokyo Shoyu ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wasn’t expecting much coming here for my first time, but will definitely be coming back! The food here is delicious!
TL;DR: Not an exaggeration: best ramen I've ever had, and I've had lots of ramen around Houston. Here I've had both the tonkotsu gachi, the yuzu shio, and got to try the shoyu truffle original (i.e. w/out pork) that my girlfriend ordered twice. It was all delicious, as well as the best ramen I've ever had. The tonkotsu was rich in flavor, the broth was downright creamy, and generally all the items in the soup were done to perfection. A heavy dish because it's fatty, but delicious. I would have gotten this twice if it weren't for my stomach feeling delicate the second time I went. Said second time I got the yuzu shio, which by contrast is simpler and lighter, but never so light that it would feel "watery". The "simple" soup just has broth, half a soft boiled egg, bamboo shoots, the chicken meat itself, and the noodles. At first I thought that with those few items it would maybe be too plain, but I was happily very wrong about that! The aromas, the flavor, and even the slight texture variation with its little bits of green onion made the whole thing come to life despite the seemingly short list of ingredients. On top of that, my stomach felt better as I had the ramen! I also tried the shoyu truffle my girlfriend got, and it too was delicious. They weren't stingy with the truffles, and it really comes across with its flavor and wonderful scent, so get this if you like truffles; it won't disappoint. It was so good that my girlfriend even finished the whole bowl, even though she usually takes her leftovers to go because she can't eat a whole restaurant-sized portion! The atmosphere is quiet and pleasant. Chill music plays in the background, including Khruangbin (one of my faves). The decor is simple and elegant without being minimalist nor ostentatious. The service is good too, even when they're busy! If I had to gripe about one thing, it's that because this place has been getting more popular, there was a line and some wait time for us to get seated. But even then, the wait time was nothing unreasonable, and we got good seats for our party of 5 despite the establishment's small size. I don't normally write reviews, so when I raved about this place to my friends, I worried that maybe I over-sold it to them. They proved my worries wrong when they said that it was also the best ramen they ever had, and we've had plenty of ramen!
Best ramen I’ve ever had in Houston! We had the spicy karrage, tako karrage, and gachi fries for appetizers and they were all perfect! For ramen we had tonkotsu spicy ramen and tonkotsu gachi; they were incredibly rich and flavorful. The dishes were equally a delicious as they were beautiful. The broth glistened in the lovely low light atmosphere.
Visited on a weekday and didn’t have to wait to be seated, a nice bonus! I tried the sesame cucumber and the vegan spicy miso ramen (adding a poached egg), and everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The cucumbers were so tasty I just wish the portion was a bit bigger! Cozy atmosphere, great ramen, and overall a wonderful spot. Highly recommended!
The karaage was really good, crispy on the outside and juicy inside, definitely a highlight. So was the potato salad very delicious and would definitely get again. My boyfriend loved the Shoyu Truffle ramen and finished every last bite. I tried the Spicy Chicken ramen after hearing someone describe it as “like a warm hug,” and that set my expectations a little too high. It was good, but the flavor notes didn’t give that cozy, comforting vibe at all it was more fine than memorable. Overall, solid food, but not everything lived up to the hype.
This is near my work, so if I ever pass by around 5:30, I stop in since that’s when they open. The food here is delicious. I strongly recommend their spicy karaage. It’s not actually very spicy but great flavor. I’ve tried several ramens here but my favorite is the peanut one that I believe they no longer sell. Normally a girl serves me and today it was 2 guys. They’re all very nice. The food comes out very quickly. Only thing is this recent time, I believe I was served my appetizers after someone else received their ramen even though I ordered first. Everything came out quickly though.
Had a good experience for the first time here and definitely will be back to try other menu items we were curious about! The pork chashu bowl was an absolutely delicious starter, perfectly decadent and fatty pork without being overwhelmingly rich. The sesame cucumbers were also fresh, flavorful, and crisp. Both ramens we ordered were delicious, I just wish there was more pork in mine! Menu said 2 pieces, but the seemed very small. The service left a little more to be desired, but could have been a busy day. Other reviews I’ve seen have complimented the service. Despite the service, I will definitely be back to try more!
I normally don’t post reviews if I don’t like a business, but the high ratings here are misleading and led us to insufferable service and overpriced, mediocre food. Insanely slow. No greeting at the door despite a line waiting. We waited 40+ minutes for a bowl of ramen after the staff misheard our order. Even after we corrected it, they still served people who were seated after us first because they processed orders in the sequence they were taken. In this case the person who had been waiting should be prioritized not just from a service standpoint but from a business one. The longer they kept me waiting the longer the line to the restaurant came and the more revenue they missed out on. I had an appointment after and was with someone, so it was extremely strange having them fully finish their meal while I just sat there waiting for 20 minutes. This was after I asked them to prioritize my order. The ramen was overseasoned and overpriced. The chicken ramen I ordered had only one 2.5oz piece of chicken and half an egg. Their apology was lackluster with no eye contact. Usually restaurants with good service comp the meal or offer a free dessert or appetizer when they mess up this badly — not the case here. The real issue is their complete lack of urgency and efficiency. They offered the people next to us with their full meals got our wrong order (why not just give the wrong order to the table with no food who’s still waiting?). Dirty dishes were piled high at empty tables next to us for 10 minutes while people were waiting to be seated. As we left, they had posted a makeshift handwritten “sold out” sign. Other people who were seated were also extremely awkward as they asked to order 4x before their order was taken. Other hard red flags included not one water refill the whole time we were there (~1.2 hours), no check in, and the waiter handing me a fork to eat my 40 minute ramen with his hand on the prongs… I understand that places get busy but a simple “thanks for waiting” or strategic management and being speedy is key when that does happen. This management was completely passive and unbothered creating their own problems of long wait times. Extremely awkward waiters as well & extremely understaffed with 2 who have no sense of time productivity or speed. Only positive is that atmosphere and interior design. Otherwise this is probably the worst service I’ve ever received. I could write a whole separate review on the food being overseasoned and broth being overfatty. I caution against coming. The Whataburger across the street is a better deal with better service and food.
I’ve always been a stickler for tipping at least 12% ANYWHERE I eat, but this restaurant was the first restaurant I’ve been to where I genuinely felt the service did not deserve any tip at all. We received no greeting when we walked in nor any information about the wait time. The menu was left at our table even after ordering and was only taken away once the food arrived, our water was left unfilled, the server handed a fork to us while he was touching the prongs, and tracking down the waiter for any type of service felt harder than it was to eat the overzealously salted curry fries and shoyu truffle ramen broth. When my friend was notified that her order had been entered incorrectly into the system (an honest mistake I get can happen), the only apology she received was a halfhearted “sorry 😐,” which, unfortunately for them, is not an honest response to the mistake. Given all of that, the overall service felt less like a series of small slip-ups and more like a complete breakdown in basic hospitality. The service was so terrible I wanted to jump over the counter and start helping the restaurant myself; the service I received made me genuinely feel like it was disrespectful to the food service industry as a whole. I’m genuinely disappointed that the amount I paid for my appetizer and my ramen isn’t instead going directly to training the staff (which I’m assuming is the case because no sane individual who has received training would ever serve a customer their fork as they were touching the fork prongs) on how to adequately work a food service role. Because of all this, even the food couldn’t salvage the experience. Unfortunately, what could've been an acceptable meal with a 3.5 rating was ruined with the service—a fact I think Gachi Management would be remiss to overlook. It's genuinely to the point where I feel as if half of the reviews on here are staff/bots. I recognize that it is unfair to judge a restaurant so harshly based on one experience when I simply could've caught the staff on an off day, but I simply wish to write this review as a public service announcement for individuals who are on the fence about giving this restaurant a try. All in all, if you like spending your time wisely and enjoying a good, no-nonsense meal, I would recommend you get your fix literally anywhere else.
This is my second visit to this location, having being treated to lunch previously. I was seated and it took a considerable amount of time to place my order. While the waiter was kind, he was slow and working alone. I ordered the pork ramen with an add on small pork/rice bowl (lunch special) and a coke. The rice was gummy but I forced myself to eat it because I was hungry. The pork ramen was fishy. I had the exact same order last time and it was delicious, both of them. The waiter came once to ask how everything was and I said, “fine”, thinking if I tried a few more bites I might feel differently. I had maybe 4 bites of the ramen. I sat for another long while until he came back and I asked for check. He offered to bag and I declined, explaining I didn’t like it. He simply took the full bowl away and brought the check. No offer to change/discount. The check was about $27.00 which also seems insane for a lunch. I’m extremely disappointed and won’t be back.
The food itself was actually pretty good, but the overall service and experience left a lot to be desired. When we were seated, it took about 10 minutes for our server to approach us. While I try not to focus on appearances, the server’s attire felt a bit inappropriate for a dining environment, with a top that barely covered the essentials. I requested a new glass because the one I received had a visible lipstick stain, which was concerning. After placing our order, the wait for food was noticeably long. I could hear the kitchen bell signaling that food was ready, but our server seemed more engaged in conversation with coworkers than attending to guests. Things only got worse when I visited the restroom. I saw two roaches—one in the dining area and another in the bathroom. The restroom itself looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in days; the sink was especially questionable. In short, while the food was decent, the lack of cleanliness and inattentive service made for a disappointing experience. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.
