Opinions de Bistro Miyoda & Sushi Ichiriki Beverly Hills
Great little neighborhood sushi spot tucked into the east end of the Vons shopping center at Prospect and Beryl in Redondo Beach. The atmosphere is cozy and traditional with chefs behind a long sushi bar. The rolls are excellent with a very thin layer of rice and a huge fish ratio. The freshness of the sushi was perfect on a Saturday... the the yellowtail being a particular favorite. The menu has more than enough but it isn't excessively long so they strike a nice balance. The prices are very reasonable with rolls in the 13 to 16 area and plenty of boxes and combinations where you can have a very nice meal around 20 bucks. This is not a crazy sushi place where everything is covered in too much mayo.. this is more about really good fresh fish done right. The service was excellent and the food comes out a nice pace.. not too fast or slow.
[Photo Update] (Positive) 12/21/25 ***EXPERIENCE 1*** (Positive) 09/17/25 Bistro Miyoda & Sushi Ichiriki Restaurant is a small unassuming eatery located in the corner of a strip mall. When you enter, you're taken back in time. It looks the way most Japanese Restaurants used to look years ago. It's clean and well maintained, however the tables are well worn, showing a lot of meals have been served and enjoyed here. They have a nice selection of appetizers, Mom likes the Salmon Collar when available. There's lots of Sushi. Sashimi, Cut Rolls, Hand Rolls, and House Specials. But, what I really like is they have Combination Dinner Boxes that are served in Bento Boxes. They also have soup and salads. I ordered the Combination Dinner Box that included Pork Cutlet and Salmon w/Lemon Butter. Mom ordered the Sesame Chicken. The meal began with Miso Soup, which was extremely tasty. When my Dinner Box arrived it looked fantastic. The Pork Cutlet (Tonkatsu) was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and with the sauce, was delicious. The Salmon was moist, tender, and flavorful with the lemon butter. With rice, and all the other accompaniments, it was an awesome meal. Mom really liked her Sesame Chicken. She threw some my way, and I caught it in my mouth. Not really. But, that would have been cool. However, the Sesame Chicken really is very crunchy, and very good. Service here is great, our server was very knowledgeable of the menu, and was very helpful when ordering. There was a young woman that seemed to always appear at the right time, clearing dishes, or taking care of the bill. She was very pleasant, but never lingered, and was off doing something useful. A woman even came over to the table to make sure everything was satisfactory. In this economy, the prices here are extremely reasonable. You definitely get your money's worth here. They seem to want the business, so I'm going to give it to them.
Awesome! This place has different types of sushi that I have never had anywhere else. Not sure if this means the sushi is not very very original or not, but definitely the new types of roll (like sushi pizza and peacock roll) are amazing!! Definitely will go back here again.
We had the best sushi and sashimi order at this place. The blue fin tuna and yellow tail belly were the best. In addition, we tried the shrimp boat and pink scallop which we hadn't tried before and they were outstanding. This place is number 1 and we will be coming back soon!
Small but wonderful place to eat! Outstanding food and the prices were very reasonable. Very friendly service! Loved the sushi and the dinner box!
Amazing service food and quickly! In my experience I didn’t have to wait for a table I came alone but when I did there was plenty of open seats for parties of 4. The waitresses are hard working and very nice! The chefs know what they are doing and the cuts and quality is great!
Been here twice for dinner and once for lunch within a few weeks. Lunch specials are a bargain. For dinner, am a fan of their: Hybrid Roll Shogun Warrior Roll Seared Ono Roll was just okay, probably won’t order again; not bad but not as wonderful as I had hoped. Not a fan of their crab rolls—too much mayonnaise for my taste.
Best Japanese-style cuisine I've had in a long time! We went here on a whim, and now we can't wait to return. Super friendly staff, quick service, and amazing food. Everyone's order was just phenomenal. 10/10 would recommend.
I hate to say how wonderful this Strip mall hidden gem is for fear it will get too popular. It's my favorite local sushi place and the prices are very reasonable.
This definitely is a hidden gem located in a strip mall and may not look like much from the outside but it's known amongst the locals as the "it" place to be for budget friendly and super tasty fresh sushi. We ordered the seaweed salad, fire dragon roll, dynamite roll, gyoza, and uni for under $50 with tax & tip. You really can't beat it!! Make sure to check in on Yelp for a free seaweed salad!! Also, this place gets pretty busy and reservations are recommended!
Everything we've had there has been very good. Everything is fresh and professionally prepared. The owner is extra kind and dishes are very taste.

My family and I would come to this restaurant as part of our Sunday ritual. Best little sushi spot in the South Bay. Unpretentious, always attentive with their service and they never compromised on the quality of the food or drinks. Love this place!
This is the best sushi I have found in the south bay. The fish is consistent and so fresh. The combinations of flavorings are inspired and stand above most sushi restaurants.
One of the best sushi on the West Coast in my view and at very reasonable prices
Very fresh sashimi, set my new bar on quality of LA and Vegas Japanese restaurant!

The hand rolls are usually pretty good but the last time I ordered they were kind of subpar and fishy. Their sushi on the other hand are always consistent and very fresh and huge sizes. I’m a little disappointed by the lack of consistency.
Food was GREAT, but the service was better than last time.

Decent sushi. went with some friends. Service as excellent and they didn't rush us out even tho it was busy.

Food is ok the place is bit dated and the AC was not cool enough for me.

We expected an excellent meal based on prior reviews and on prices. The positives were fairly fresh fish and good miso soup. Otherwise, far short of expectations. Excellent Japanese restaurants pay careful attention to cleanliness and decor. Bathroom was filthy, toilet partially clogged. We sat near the bar; next to my right elbow, tucked onto a shelf, was an open cardboard box of wasabi powder. Rather than set the places, we had a stack of plates to set it ourselves. Server was responsive, but I expect a Japanese restaurant to value respect and politeness in serving, rather than "who had the chirashi" and dump it in front of me. We make sushi and tempura at home. We'd be embarrassed to offer a tasteless bowl of rice (are they buying more quality short grain?), and sushi rice should be flavorful and should not be pressed into a cake. The chef could use a refresher on slicing technique; good sashimi melts in the mouth, this required some chewing. Maki should emphasize purity and simplicity, their sushi is far too large. While I didn't expect the quality of food we ate in Japan, we do expect a high level of care and competence, neither of which we had tonight.
The rolls were overcooked and drenched in dark sweet sauce (eel sauce) and some mayo for others.. Not something we look for in sushi. It seemed like someone with good intentions was trying to recreate sushi based on photos, but they never actually had it. The rolls looked good but the taste was weird. Good service
