My mom Had planed a 75 bday trip to Jamaica however she wasn’t able to attend due to hurricane Melissa. I went up to Pappedeaux to make a reservation for her and her friends that were supposed to go on the trip. My mom was smiling ear to ear over her friends , family and favorite seafood restaurant. The manager Fefe was exceptional and our servers Haley and another gentlemen were caring, professional and attentive. I love this restaurant not just for it food but for the amazing service. Highly highly recommended

It was absolutely amazing. It is expensive, but it is well worth it this is the best seafood around, and it is absolutely phenomenal. The views are amazing, it's very beautiful here. They've got a great atmosphere. Beautiful

I used to frequent the location near Atlanta in the 90s. It was a favorite of mine, so I was thrilled to see one while I was in Birmingham! Let me start by saying it did not disappoint. The food was just as I remembered it. A rarity these days. The staff was super attentive. Love the New Orleans feel of the decor. The food was fantastic. If you are near one of these, there's no better place outside of the bayou for this kind of cuisine!

We drove from TN to this location for my Mom’s 60th birthday celebration. We hadn’t been to Pappadeaux in almost 10 years. Let me just say the trip was well worth it! From the sweet and clean atmosphere, to the service and the amazing food! Everything was even better than we expected. Jamal, our server was literally on top of everything there wasn’t really anything we had to ask for, he kept the drinks coming, the food came out much sooner than expected and was absolutely scrumptious. We are seafood lovers and don’t find many great locations here in Nashville, which is one reason why we’re so fund of Pappadeaux even years later! Oh and the deserts are ridiculously huge! Can’t wait til I next visit!

My husband and I went here for the first time Saturday. We went around 5 and planned to have a few drinks and apps. The bartenders, Jerome, Kendria, and Bryundria were all equally attentive, made great recommendations and made the experience overall for us. My husband prefers his beer in a bottle, typically tap does not stay cold. They assured the glasses were kept cold and he didn’t complain, so win there. I had the lemon martini and then the peach drink, both were good, the peach was just a little less sweet so I enjoyed it more. Now for the food. Jerome recommended the crab claws for an appetizer, and they were AMAZING! We opted to get 1/2 sautéed and 1/2 fried with dirty rice instead of fries. After we started eating the sautéed, we wished we would have gotten them all that way. The sauce was delish that they were sautéed in. The gumbo was also shared and let me tell you, it rivals any we have had in NOLA, and we travel there often. It did not have that “smoky” flavor that some gumbo has. The roux was dark but full of flavor, and packed full of sausage & shrimp. The toast that case with the gumbo was also full of flavor and helped to finish off the sauce from the sautéed crab claws. We were too stuffed for any entrees. The place was packed but we never felt rushed, we never felt like anyone was too busy to wait on us or left waiting for someone to wait on us. I am not sure why we have never been here, especially as much as we both love Cajun food, but it will not be our last! Try it out and let the bartender staff serve you!

This was our 3rd time eating at this restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we had save for the Texas Redfish Pontchartrain. It was lacking in seasoning a great deal. On this visit we had the Seafood Tagliatelle Pasta and Pasta Mardi Gras. We also had the Fried Calamari and Octopus that we couldn't eat because it was so tough and chewy. The manager was happy to take it off the bill. This place is a real treat!

This restaurant is definitely one of the best places I have ever eaten. Atmosphere, food, and service were all top-notch. The Blackened Catfish and Shrimp Etouffee with Dirty Rice were amazing. I will be eating here again the next time I'm in the area.

Nice pleasant dinner with friends wasn't crowded and no wait. Food was good. Broccoli was crunchy but server gladly exchanged it to potato puree with no extra charge. Spinach dip great as always.

It's the best seafood in Birmingham, and you can't beat the service. The prices are pretty nuts though. They doo have a "bar-seating only" happy hour; haven't tried that yet, but the options looked good.

Went the night before VDay. Server seemed new. Took 15 minutes to even be greeted by server once seated. Ordered drinks and appetizers. Took about 20 minutes for 1 drink and 40 minutes for mine. Wasn't told the slush machine wasn't freezing so I was just waiting. Never got appetizers. Had to cancel bc the meal came out. The server was all over the place. Kept forgetting request and taking extended breaks from table checks. The food and drinks were delicious but the date went sour bc we were irritated due to the unexplained long breaks and waits for items. Yes I understand that they were busy! It seemed as if the issue was our server though bc the tables around us were being attended to properly.

I have been to several Pappadeaux restaurants across the country and the food has been great. The food here was mediocre at best and my girls group of 7 were disappointed. The food was not hot and some items weren't seasonedwell.. The mozzarella sticks were gigantic and the breading was not good. The waitress was excellent--great customer service and attentive. I think they take for granted that people will come there, but if I'm visiting Birmingham again I would not go.

Unfortunately, every time we visit this restaurant, the wait staff delivers poor service, and we have been there about 6 times in the past 3 years. The service is NOT what you'd expect from a place with such a good menu offering. Prices are a bit high, but the quantity of food is pretty good. Had to ask if there were any specials of the day.

1 Star – and that’s being generous!!! I had one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had at Pappadeaux, and it was entirely due to the manager named Allen. His behavior was rude, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable for someone in a management position. I was having a calm, respectful conversation with another employee about the party room, which was completely unoccupied, when Allen abruptly butted into the conversation as if we were doing something wrong just by asking a question. His tone was dismissive and condescending from the start. Rather than trying to accommodate us or even explain things professionally, he immediately jumped to saying there would be a mandatory 20% gratuity and one check, as if that was some kind of threat or punishment. It felt insulting, especially since we would have been paying gratuity anyway because of the size of our party. The way it was presented made it seem like he assumed we were trying to avoid paying or we couldn’t pay it, which was offensive and unnecessary. For context, I hadn’t been to Pappadeaux since September and ONLY came this time because my daughter wanted to. After this experience, I can confidently say I will never return again. What makes this even more disappointing is that I will be sharing this experience with every sorority sister I have, and any outings or events that have been planned to include eating here will absolutely be changed. No organization I’m a part of will be supporting a business that allows this level of disrespect from management. This wasn’t just bad service, it was the worst customer service I’ve ever received from a manager. If this is the standard Pappadeaux accepts from its leadership, then they’ve lost more than just one customer.
