Lovely people and very classic atmosphere. We had to wait a bit for a BBQ table, but the wait was well worth it. Everything was clean, and the food was fresh and flavorful. I hope to return again soon.
Excellent Korean food in all aspects, speedy service and delicious food that isn't too pricey!
This is amazing. My husband and I have been trying to find an authentic food experience since leaving Japan. This place was literally the fist place IN YEARS that the gyoza tastes the way it's supposed to. The sauces and the marinades all tasted almost identical to what we had overseas. The portions were way bigger than expected. They even had the plum wine I had trouble finding IN Japan! Love this place. Can't say enough great things. I wanna live here.
I hate that this place actually gets bad reviews. Myself and one of the doctors I worked with were some of the first people to make Ginza our weekly go to 20 + years ago.. There were no other sushi restaurants on this side of Birmingham, if any, in the city.. they've never delineated from their quality or service. I used to laugh when a guy would come in (a little tipsy from the golf course) and ask for his chop sticks, which were kept in the back in a case.
The Korean BBQ is amazing! A great experience to share. I thought there was plenty of food here, I have no idea what people are talking about the portions being too small. They're probably just not eating all of the delicious and unique Korean side dishes that come with it. That or they just eat too much anyway. American portions are huge and people come to expect that as normal and reasonable.
The sushi was some of the best I've ever had. The presentation was incredible and the service was wonderful.
Very busy location. The service was awesome and you saw and experienced that the servers in the restaurant worked as a ream. Sat in the BBQ area and was very pleased with the set up. This is a gem in Inverness. There are only 2 authentic Korean restaurants in the Birmingham area and this location and dined at both, this is the better of the two. You wont be dissappointed.
This was a fantastic dining experience! The venue was noticeably clean then we were greeted and seated promply. We ordered a bbq, appetizer, sushi, and a noodle plate. All were served in a timely manner and served with authentic sides. 3 of us ate And took home food. Our server was charming and efficient. We always had what we needed. This restaurant seems very popular with the local diners. We will return!
This is the only sushi restaurant in Birmingham worth going to. I'm used to sushi restaurants on every corner with all of them serving great sushi (so cal), so believe me when I say.. I have tried to find other acceptable sushi restaurants in Birmingham - usually I'm sorry I even tried. Their sushi is always fresh and tastes great. They are growing in popularity and I'm glad to see that for them, but they need to keep up with service.
The Bulgoggi was amazing! The service was too! Went for my birthday dinner. They didn't sing or anything but the food was excellent. Make sure you get there way before they are about to close so that you can cook at the table. But they cook it for you in the kitchen also. I just feel it's more authentic that way. The portions were adequate. Would highly recommend.
Ginza is one of me and my girlfriends go to dinner date spots. They have good service and a fun variety of Korean style appetizers that come with some dishes.
Really felt like trying something new and this place did not disappoint. We had kids and if you’re a parent you know they can get loud sometimes but it was nice seeing so many other families on a Friday night. The restaurant is suitable for dates and large groups as well.
Omg!!! By far the best in the 280 area. Didn’t know we had a real style Korean restaurant in the state of Alabama. Everything was wonderful, food was on point, clean restrooms, friendly staff….i would recommend everybody…. Love the fact the waiters said y'all do not need my help!! Y’all are pros
Great food. Nice friendly staff. Don the owner and sushi master is the best. Try the Dolsot bibimbap.
One of my new favorite restaurants. The food is delicious! It's a little pricey but worth it if you want a neat and out of the ordinary dining experience. We had both the Korean BBQ and the sushi and both were top tier. You have the option of regular dining or using the special BBQ table which I like. Looking forward to trying more items from the menu.
First time trying this place and it was very good. Really enjoyed everything about it. Food was delicious, liked the Korean bbq setup. Staff was very friendly and helped explain something I had questions about with no problem.
Amazing experience! We sat where we could cook our own entrees on our own personal grill table. The food and service are excellent and we especially love the atmosphere. Good place whether eating alone or a large group. Been many times since and intend on trying something new every time. You won't be disappointed!!
This was my first time here. My waitress helped me understand the menu to get best bang for my buck. I ordered the Tako-su appetizer (thinly sliced octopus- super fresh!) and the Korean entree with bulgogi and samgyubsal (marinated thinly sliced ribeye and pork belly- great cuts of meat loaded with flavor!). You can't have KBBQ without soju, and the banchan (side dishes) were refreshing.
Great food and service... I really was in the mood for a Korean meal and actually ended up ordering sushi here too... The salmon sashimi was fresh and excellent... The spicy tuna roll was perfect... I do wish ( not to sound greedy) that the beef bulgogi portion was bigger and there were more than three sides... Most Korean restaurants, there are many side dishes with the bulgogi... Over all, I really enjoyed my meal...
Ginza hands down has the best sushi in Birmingham. The spicy tuna is amazing! The Korean BBQ is also a super fun experience for a night out. Super easy to cook, and tasty. I recommend the Ginza bulgogi or the spicy chicken. The steamed rice is super fluffy and good. All of the employees are super sweet and everyone has a smile on their face. 10/10 recommend!
We love Ginza! It’s a go-to spot for us to meet up with my family for dinner. Both the sushi and Korean bbq are awesome, the prices are great, and the service is wonderful. They always make sure we have a great dinner!
This is the place you go when you want that melt in your mouth sushi, the way it is supposed to be. Their sashimi is high quality. The sliced rib eye is perfect! I no longer live near this place but always visit when I’m in the area.
The best hands down sushi in Birmingham. The yummy yummy roll is ridiculous good. The short ribs are my favorite entree and are always fabulous. Overall, I’ve been eating here for 15+ years and it’s been great every time.
Absolutely amazing experience so much fun! Perfect for a fun night for groups of two to four. The hot pot tables are only four tops so your larger parties do get a little separated, but it was still so much fun! The whole cooking experience was exciting. I will Def be going back for date nights and even going to take my mother to try it for the first time. Food was 10/10. Price is perfect for everything you get! Will be back! Get there early so you are guaranteed a table top
Have dined here ever since they opened and the quality, presentation, service and freshness is superb. Although we miss Jon, Don does an equally excellent job of preparing and making of menu offerings and presentation is top drawer. Keep it going Don! (Side note: Spray bottles with sanitizing solution and CLEAN towels needs to be routine cleaning standard for all tables before seating guests.) PS Softshell Crabs are to die for.
I've never eaten in the restaurant so this review is purely based on the food. I've been getting sushi to go every few weeks for the last 7 months. It is great quality fish for a reasonable price. The veggie rolls are some of the best I've had anywhere. Tonight we got several of the BBQ dishes to eat family style and try several at a time and they were AMAZING! The kimchi was crunchy, spicy, and delicious.
Lauren was awesome. Food was great. I’m from Miami so I’m used to good sushi but this was VERY GOOD sushi! Got the bulgogi as well. Overall great experience, definitely VM recommended and would come back when I get the chance!
Amazing food and great service. We went to Alabama for a vacation and this place hit the spot. We forgot our headphones there and didn’t realize until we were on the way to Florida. We contacted the staff about it, and they handled it very well and shipped it back to us. The staff is very friendly and the place is very eye pleasing. Would definitely recommend this for anyone in Alabama
The atmosphere is quiet compared to more contemporary Korean BBQ restaurants. This place also has a full sushi menu. The Chicken Bulgogi was really good, and they served up kimchi, bean sprouts, miso soup, another good pickled dish, and ginger salad. You can take leftovers with you, unlike the All-you-can-eat restaurants. The service was great, as well. Overall, it was nice to experience a more relaxing ambience. Will definitely go back!
This is my first time visiting, despite living in the area for many years. I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it here when I stopped by for lunch today. There were only 2 other tables occupied and I had a great time. -Atmosphere: Warm, cozy and inviting. Low lighting and quiet. All tables (no booths) plus a sushi bar. -Staff: Very pleasant, friendly, and attentive. I was greeted and seated immediately. I didn’t have to wait to order and was checked on multiple times, all with a smile. -Food: I got the lunch shrimp teriyaki and tuna nigiri. Both were excellent. The teriyaki came with the standard miso soup and ginger salad. I prefer a clear soup myself but the salad was good. The nigiri and the shrimp were very fresh and delicious. The fried rice had corn which I don’t prefer but it was still good. Overall, I really enjoyed this place. I came by myself since this was a weekday lunch after a doctor’s appointment, but I plan on coming back with the family for sure!
This place has a nice atmosphere, soft jazz, and dimmed light. Fairly spaced seats. The food that we’ve ordered were savory and delicious. Some kitchen menus were little salty but combined with rice, its perfect combo. K2. DolSot BibimBab (Assorted Korean vegetables with rice on a hot stone pot) was right on with right amount of spicy🌶️ paste. LA Galbi was spot on! You should try it. Spicy Udon was quite spicy🥵 so order only if you dare. Disclaimer: What happens in bathroom afterwards stay in bathroom.
The sushi is fantastic. The crunchy shrimp is awesome. This place is never very busy and they have attentive service. I tried the Korean BBQ (which is not a plate of meat with sauce on it). They sit you at a table with a grill in the middle and you cook your own food. Only give this a 4 as I am not a fan of cooking my own food but it was a fun experience.
Stopped by for a quick lunch. Saw Korean BBQ and was intrigued. The Bugolgi was good, not to sweet. Kimchi had a slight kicked but definitely not homemade. Pickled radishes were excellent! Nice flavor and depth. Teriyaki shrimp was very good, some teriyaki is too sweet but this was just right. Stir fry veggies were crisp and well cooked, great flavor. Side salad was typical ginger dressing, and just OK. Miso soup was bland and needed salt. Would have given 4 stars but service was excellent and staff was friendly. Restaurant was clean and well kept. Prices were fair for lunch. Overall great experience. Might try dinner next time to see their dinner menu. Very pleased!
It wasn't bad for Korean BBQ, though our waitress tossed our meat onto the hot pan with no warning or explanation so I was pretty upset about that throughout the evening. Bathroom needed attention for sure. Over all not a bad place for a date night
This is a pretty good place to eat at. The sushi here is fantastic! They have a good selection of sake that compliments whatever meal you get. The Korean BBQ they serve is also good, and comes with plenty of sides to go with it. It also has an excellent atmosphere.
The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable of the entrees. The manager went above and beyond to help my girlfriend up the two steps for the Korean BBQ area; she's a T-12 paraplegic. He also stated he'd get a ramp installed. The food was fresh and the grills were cleaned. I didn't like the ChiChi alcoholic drink; I switched for a Shirley Temple. The ribeye and chicken tasted better with seasoning and teriyaki sauce. The miso soup, I didn't care for, nor the tofu in it. The kimichi was different but I don't have to have it again. The Korean radish was delicious. The spring rolls were really good also. The ambience was warm and welcoming; I would definitely come back.
Had eclectic assortment of dishes during our first visit, mostly Korean. Waitress was EXTREMELY NICE AND HELPFUL. A rarity in many places. Food was mostly good, but needed a little more flavor. Don't be afraid to season the food according to the cuisine. Definitely will return.
The food was good, a little pricer than other Korean BBQ places I've been to, but it's the only one near Birmingham. They were very understaffed for how much I was paying. Which greatly took away from the experience.
My family and I went to Ginza on a Friday night and were a little worried when we walked in around 630, and there weren't many guests. We ordered the Korean BBQ, and it had a good flavor. The staff were also very friendly and attentive. The only reason I am giving them 4 stars is because the miso soup was very watery, you didn't get very much for the dinner for two and it didn't seem very authentic.
Great experience! I had a California roll and the chicken yakisoba, both were delicious. My friend had one of the bulgogi bento boxes and loved the variety. They were short-staffed when we went, but our waitress was so sweet and made sure we had a great experience. Will definitely be back!
Went here for dinner to experience the Korean BBQ Grill that they have.. We ordered the Sam-gyub-sal ($19)(not marinated) and Spicy Galbi ($24)(marinated) both came in a plate with only just (4 slices). I ordered sweet tea as my drink and tried their Takoyaki ($6)(5pcs). Everything tastes great. You can grill the meat as cooked as you want it to be, or you can ask them to supervise you with the grilling and the waiter/waitress is very accomodating. It was a nice experience, the ambiance is dim but well lit at the same time. The bbq grill tables are placed in one area and the normal tables are on the other side of the restaurant. The korean side dishes like the kimchi, radish and mung sprouts are unlimited.. you can just ask them to refill it whenever. The rice isn't refillable tho. I gave 4 starts because food is really good, ambiance is nice too.. but it's expensive.. we ended up having to pay around $65 (we gave $9 tip) for 2pax. We were served well and fast, good job.
We had the nicest server around. We were fortunate to have found this little gem and were delighted to find some decent Asian cuisine in Alabama. I think this place could do better if they up charged and had an all you can eat Korean BBQ, similar to the many places in other states. We have recommended this place to many of our friends who have made the trip out to find that they also enjoy the food, the drinks, and especially the atmosphere.
BiBimBap is a favorite and was a good lunch choice. I’m not used to having the rice served on the side, but bowl was large enough to put it in. I appreciated having a veggie option (tofu) although I usually go for beef. Tofu was grilled with crispy edges and soft interior. Yum. Easy-over egg was perfect. Miso soup was good - nothing special. The pickled daikon in the banchan side dishes was wonderful. Full of flavor, the right amount of crunch and good heat. Bean sprouts were just right. Kimchi didn’t stand out but held its own. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. Even as a dine-alone guest I got good service.
Nice Korean/Japanese bistro! Sushi bar along the back, and you have a choice between normal or grill tables. Not busy on a Saturday at lunch, though it picked up around 1pm. Service was friendly, fast, and attentive. Ordered the chicken katsu bento box, and it came with plenty of food; all was great.
As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted and seated at the table. The decor is nice. However, the restaurant could use a bit more lighting inside. I could tell they were going for a romantic vibe yet missed slightly due to poor lighting. Service is slow and a bit unorganized. Though the food took around 45 minutes to arrive, it was worth the wait. The Halibut Bento Box was good. The fish wasn't over breaded or dry. Prices are a bit on the high side but matches the quality of the food. The coctails were decent but very overpriced. Restaurant was clean. The only downfall was having several different people coming to the table to handle drinks and orders. This caused the service to be delayed which created confusion within the staff. - E.S. The food was just ok for me, it wasn't awful but it was bland and boring I cooked better and that aint saying much. I love the idea and concept but make the food delicious. The service was also very subpar. We waited forever for refills, our check, although the food did come fast, which since its raw it should. Overall I won't be back.
Honest review! Went on Monday night for dinner, they were busy which is good sign that the restaurant is doing something right to have almost an full house on Monday night. Know the fact that this is the only Korean bbq restaurant in Birmingham(in terms of bbq table). I will advice you to make a reservation if going on weekday so as to have a table ready when you arrive or else expect to have a 20 minute wait. —-About Food—- Pricing: Fairly priced, dinner for 2 ~$50 (no alcoholic drink) Taste: It was okay, if you have been to other Korean bbq restaurants this place’s bbq was just above average. Ambience: I guess they were short of serving/waiting staff for Monday. Servers were running around the restaurant with stomping the ground loudly. Our server just brought he sides without letting us know about the Korean sides. Hardly spoke to us or came around to check if we needed something. Not a pleasing thing but it’s okay I guess ? TLDR: Fairly priced restaurant, sub par food taste and quality (bbq), below par server experience and ambience is average. Giving it a solid 3*
Came in for lunch on August 3, 2019. They open at 11 am and we went in for the BBQ tables. We came in at 11:15 and they sat us quickly. But took an hour for them to bring out our food. Our appetizers took 30 min and was cold. There were 3 other tables already sat when we got in. The food was good and decent portions. The service wasn't very good, BUT... it wasn't our server's fault. She sat us, waited on us, severed us and even ran the bar. She also served the entire restaurant by herself which had about 12 full tables. She worked so hard, she was literally sweating!!! Great job Abigail!!!! Timeliness of the restaurant is why they got 3 stars. Waiting an hr is ridiculous in an empty restaurant. If it wasn't for the hard working server I would have give 2 stars.
This is an upscale restaurant with alright service but it's just not authentic. The Korean sides are more for an American pallette. The bulgogi was alright but not the best. The sushi is alright.
Unfortunately not the best KBBQ in the area! Pricey small portions and not the best flavor.
Service was fine. Took longer than I thought was reasonable for just an appetizer. Also, I got the spring rolls for my app - they were greasy. The filo wrap they used was more appropriate for an egg roll, and there was more wrap than filling. The prices were decent however. I may return for drinks in the future.
The sushi was enjoyable, but there's room for improvement in their service. During our Korean BBQ experience, they neglected to clear plates, and the service felt somewhat dismissive. While the food was decent, it didn't offer the same value for money as other Korean BBQ places we've tried.
Pretty good for the Korean barbecue. The kids really enjoyed it. The food was good. It was very pricey though. The whole experience felt a lot like going to a Japanese hibachi but a lot more expensive for a lot less food. You'd think that since your cooking it yourself it might be less expensive or at least the same? We had to ask for the Korean side dishes since they only brought 3 little bowls for 5 people. They said they didn't want to waste them if people don't eat them. We were paying for them, weren't we? Then we were told they ran out of the one I liked. We had to ask for a tiny bowl of Kim chi too. You'd think at least they'd have an option to include fried rice for the same price. Overall might be nice for lunch or couples but lacking in value for a family.
We wanted to try Korean BBQ and this looked interesting. Nice atmosphere. The cocktails are good (though the fruit garnish was visibly dried out). My friends and I each ordered our own dinners, as the specials "for 2" or "for 3" weren't the meat choices we wanted and the "for 3" one was grossly overpriced. We had 2 sushi rolls and some gyoza as appetizers. Good, but not as good as I expected from the pics. The most disappointing part was the BBQ wasn't turned on before the food arrived and the waitress slopped my entire plate of steak onto the cooking surface which meant the rest of the food couldn't be cooked. She offered to cook the other food on a different table. Which was odd and confusing, as the experience is you should cook it yourself. She also took the plate my meat came on, so we couldn't take any off. We made it work by piling the meat up on one side. But after watching her just hand the plates to other tables, I realized she just messed ours up. Would have been nice if she hadn't. The sides brought out for the BBQ (fish cakes, a type of Kim chi, and bean sprouts with a seasame oil sauce) were really good. I might go back and try the BiBimBap, but not the BBQ.
Didn't leave a one star review just in case my judgement was clouded because of all the other amazing Korean restaurants I've had over the years. This place was a real disappointment. The lack of service was disturbing. My glass stayed empty nearly the entire time I was here. The side dishes were far too few and not very good. The salad was just dressing on lettuce. No bean sprouts. We needed more rice and the lady basically told us no. When she did bring some but not before counting our bowls which just seemed odd. I'm sure I won't be back... or my wife, or the friends we brought, or anyone else that asks about this place. I did however like the Christmas lights on the trees inside...
Ate lunch with a friend here. I am giving it 2 stars because the place has a ton of potential but it is clear the owner hasn’t taken time to train the staff. Nice enough team but few people were there and they juggled us around from finding a seat to getting a check. Food was good but nothing better then any other place. Simply put there are places that offer the same thing at a similar price with a better setup and customer discounts for loyal customer. Step it up or go extinct.
I’ve been here twice and the food is honestly some of the best Korean food I have had in a while, but the service is piss poor especially for lunch. Me and my parents came in on Saturday at 1pm, so we should have had plenty of time to eat and leave before they close at 2. The server seemed like the only one serving the entire place so we didn’t get upset but we were not well taken care of through most of the meal. We stayed until 2:30 because the small grill was not heated at all and we waited 30 minutes for rice. It’s not the servers fault entirely but she had no help and the customers suffered from it. Management should have more servers on the floor during their open hours.
Service was lacking. Originally told the wait would be 30 to 45 minutes. Waited about an hour. Then when we were finally seated it took another 15 minutes before I had to ask another waitress if we could get service to order drinks. Food was decent, but over priced for what you get. A bowl of steamed rice and half a chicken breast or third of ribeye. It's not worth the time nor the price in my opinion. I can't speak on the other portion of the restaurant. They seemed to seat folks faster and the food looked good. We only did the korean BBQ portion.
The food we actually tasted and atmosphere were excellent. Unfortunately, we didn't receive soups, salads, or side dishes with our Korean BBQ. The restaurant was busy, every place is short-staffed these days, and I don't think our server was very experienced, but we still only received a fraction of what we paid for. When presented with an opportunity to make it right on the ticket, the best our server could do was knock $5 off by removing the kids' soft drinks. I'd love to say I'd visit again, as there aren't many Korean restaurants in the city and the sushi and sashimi were excellent, but I can't recommend a full dining expedition given the quality of service and value we received. Tl;Dr Didn't get the side dishes with our meal, lackluster response, excellent food, poor service.
If you have the option to go somewhere else, you should. It wasn’t the worst, but it was not good at all. A mediocre meal is putting it nicely. You can tell they are slightly understaffed to handle what they had to do I’m not going to criticize the service, they were all working hard to give the best experience they could. However, the food was awful. The only thing that was good was the kimchi and pickled radish. The chicken and shrimp were borderline on edible. Extremely chewy and over cooked. For sitting in so much sauce the inside of the chicken was drier than the Sahara. The food was like warm at best. Sushi was decent, not great, not horrible.
I really wanted to enjoy the food here, but it feels like the chefs didn't put their heart into any of my food. The miso soup was bland and missing something, the rice smelled like the water it was cooked in was dirty, and the bulgogi I had was barely passable. I only gave two stars because of how sweet our waitress was.
Oh my God! I'm sooo mad right now. This is by far the worst food and dining experience I've had in Alabama! I was told by both a server and supposedly the owner, that my food wasn't bad (cold, bland), that I just didn't know how to eat their food, therefore I was gonna be charged for everything I didn't eat. We got served cold bibimbap, mushy and cold and greasy spring rolls, tofu that was WET and had 0 seasoning AND was uncooked! This is a shameful establishment and I hope they don't stay in business for long. I had rated this establishment 5 stars in the past, what a joke.
I sent sushi back and the chef came out and started yelling at me Infront of the whole restaurant. As for the reply to my review. I only sent it back twice. I never yelled at a server. I was the one approach by the chef and then yelled at after being asked why I didn't like my food. The door was already broken, we saw a man trying to fix it while we ate. So just know the food is bad and the treatment of customers is horrific and the reply from the owner is an out right lie.
Terrible place to eat. Got an appointment today for 6, when we get there the server at the front won’t let us sit down. She said she will sit us after all six of us gets here, but there are two table at front of us get to sit with out all of them here. Beside that, asking for a sake and server forgot about it until I asked again. Order the togo order, didn’t give us the rice. The item is overpriced, $80 plate, you only get few beef, shrimp, and scallops. And don’t arguing about that, I been try more than 10 Korean BBQ restaurants.👎👎👎
With a reservation, it took 45 minutes to get our 2 plates of food and keep in mind they serve it raw for you to cook on the little grill at the table. The food itself was flavorless. They only put salt and pepper as seasoning and they don't give you any other sauces/seasonings to add. The experience of cooking it yourself is fun, but not worth the money. Try Korean BBQ somewhere else.
Waited for over an hour to receive our order. Salad was iceberg lettuce only with a watery dressing. Entre was Luke warm. The other items were not fresh tasting. Took forever to receive our check.. We will not be back. I’m sorry for this low rating but I believe I’m being fair and honest. I had high hopes for this restaurant.
I was not impressed. I watched my appetizer sit on a cart waiting to be served for about 10-15 minutes until I asked my waitress about it. When she finally brought it to the table, it was below room temp. I was sitting in the BBQ section which was packed, so I tried to be patient. But after almost 90 minutes of being seated, I still hadn’t received my meal. I was given no explanation or even an aproxímate time on how long I would be waiting. The people in my group who ordered the BBQ option had already cooked their meats and almost completely finished their food by the time I got mine. When my food arrived, it was again luke warm and incorrect. I will say my order was corrected fairly quickly though. The steak was bland and the rice was alright. I do not see myself returning in the future.
Recently dine in here on a Wednesday night and it was severely understaffed, only two waiters working. We did not receive all of our food that night and felt ripped off. I ordered a beef bulgogi with chicken combo and receive the meat and 20 min later the rice (which was both cold.) Never have I receive the Korean dishes that came with the food and the sushi I ordered. We had to ask 5 times to even receive just coke. We tried to be reasonable but the wait time was horrible for just me and my girlfriend and on an average night! The food was cold by time it came out to us and all the waiter said was “sorry we are understaffed” and walked off. We check in at 5pm and did not leave until 7:30pm. Would not recommend eating at this place until they have their staffing corrected and better food services.
Beware!! This restaurant does not honor all guests or the hours of operation. The restaurant closes at 9:00pm. We arrived at approximately 7:30pm and were refused the bbq side because too many people were waiting and they shut it down at 8:15pm. The whole point of driving over thirty minutes was of course for the bbq experience. We were told we could be seated immediately at a table without a bbq but that’s not the experience we drove over thirty minutes to obtain. If we arrived prior to closing, we should have been able to be placed on the waitlist like everyone else. This policy should be on the website so patrons will know in advance that even if you arrive during business hours, you will still be refused the bbq side. Keep in mind, we weren’t allowed to make reservations and we even called earlier that day to be sure. No thank you! We will take our business elsewhere.
Chicken, scallops, shrimp and beef all marinating on the same warm plate... I've been to some amazing Korean BBQ restaurants in Texas, Florida and Georgia. Not one of those restaurants, which were, by most standards, SUPER expensive but well with it, ever brought out selection of meats all at one time, or on the same plate. Obvious cross contamination is a regular thing here. The best thing we had was the tempura sweet potatoes. We drove over an hour to come here and will not be returning.
Extremely racist and disgusting staff. My boyfriend and I came in on 5/13 at around 8:10 pm and stood at the host stand for about 5 minutes without being acknowledged, which was ok because I could see they were understaffed. But as soon as a white woman came in she was immediately greeted and helped and seated and the lady completely ignored me even when I was clearly waiting first. I will NOT be back and will let all of my peers know how RACIST this establishment is.
I ordered pork belly and the wait time was ridiculous. When the meat finally arrived, it wasn't even fully thawed, which clearly shows they just pulled it out of the freezer after I ordered. It had a gamey smell that made it very hard to eat. I also ordered Takoyaki, but it was only warm on the outside and still frozen/cold on the inside. This place is definitely not worth the price.
Charged me an auto gratuity when 2 of the guest were babies. Said they auto gratuity with parties of 6. She would’ve gotten a better tip than insulting me with auto gratuity thinking she wouldn’t get a tip. DNR 3 sides for banchan and the kimchi tasted sour.
Worst food ever. Service was great. Very friendly. But the food was terrible. The miso soup tasted and looked exactly like dish water. The rest of the food was subpar but the soup was so awful. I got steak teriyaki. It was okay. Husband got Bul-go-gi and said it looked like prechewed steak. He said it wasn't great and both of us agreed we would not be back. But the service was really great. Too bad the food wasn't.
