It was Valentine's Day so it was as expected--over capacitated and overworked employees. We ended up ordering takeout. Surprisingly the steak was still fantastic, we were able to cut it with our plastic to go cutlery, the lobster Mac was goodbut needed some seasoning, and the creamy spinach was missing something ...I feel like maybe Parmesan on top but it was tolerable. I asked for extra butter with one of the steaks and didn't get it but not a deal breaker. Also they should put or at the least offer salt and pepper packets and steak sauce to go.

We visited for our anniversary. Customer service was absolutely amazing! We had two little ones with us and everyone was so accommodating to anything we needed. Our waitress was so sweet and stayed on top of everything we needed. We had filet, shrimp, lobster, mashed potatoes, salad, gumbo, lobster mac, cheesecake, bread pudding, and chocolate sin cake. $222 for two people. The steaks were really good, everything else was good but definitely not worth the price. I was disappointed in the desserts specifically. The bread pudding just tasted like a monkey bread muffin and the chocolate sin cake was bitter and just simply not impressive for a $13 dessert. The cheesecake was good! My husband and I both got sick on the way home so I questioned the food a bit as well. Overall we had a relaxing, fun experience but wouldn’t return due to the food and pricing. I’m not just trying to bash this place, just share for others what our experience was like so you can make an informed decision. I do want to again commend the staff for their wonderful customer service!

I went to Ruth’s Chris for my birthday this year, and it was my first time visiting. I had been so excited for weeks after seeing the $55 three-course meal advertised on their website, Facebook, and TikTok. The deal included an appetizer, entrée, and dessert, which sounded perfect for a nice birthday dinner. Unfortunately, things didn’t go quite as expected. When I looked at the menu, I didn’t see the deal that was promoted everywhere. I asked our waitress—who I will say was very kind, attentive, and informative—about it, and she explained that the $55 menu wasn’t being offered. Instead, the options listed were salmon, filet, or fish—none of which matched what was advertised online (which showed stuffed chicken and steak as the main course options). To make things worse, they were also out of the stuffed chicken and the ingredients for the lemon drop we ordered. They replaced it with a pomegranate version, which was good, but still disappointing since I had specifically planned for what I saw online. The bread was also a bit too hard for my liking, though I did enjoy the lamb chops and Caesar salad. As for the price, I expected to spend around $70 per person for four people, based on the three-course meal deal (which included dessert) and drinks. However, our bill came out to over $600—way more than expected. We paid without hesitation, but it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. Overall, the waitress was great, but the misleading advertisement and lack of menu availability made this birthday dinner a letdown. I’m not sure if I’d return. 2.5 star review.

We were in town for basketball game and decided to have dinner where we know is usually great food and service. However this was not the case at this location. I didn't want to make this review so I called twice to speak with the manager but wasn't successful. Order 2 ribeye steaks, lamb chops, lobster mac &cheese and sweet potato casserole. Steak 1 was ordered med rare and 2nd steak med well plus..Ribeye steak came out I stated we wanted bone in, Noel reply was you should have ask for bone in. Ok my fault I have to dealt with it, however both steaks came out not cooked to our request also lobster mac and cheese was very cold. We asked to cook 1 steak more because it was not done at all. The 2nd steak was very thick yet too done. We asked to have the mac n cheese warmed...She returned the steak yet we still waiting on mac n cheese. When the mac and cheese returned it was like soup very watery with lobster on top. Lamb Chop and Potato casserole was very good, prepared okay.. Not once did Noel try to make the food or her service better, never did a manager come address the issues. The restaurant was not busy at all only 2 tables had guests so it was no reason the food or service shouldn't be at higher expectations. Then to call back for the manager and the person took my name, email, pulled up my reservations and receipts so she can have manager call me. Well its over a week later I called back and still didnt get to speak with manager regarding this complaint. Not what we are use to at Ruth Chris, very disappointing

We came without a reservation, so we knew a wait was likely, which would have been fine. After being asked if we had a reservation, we said No, so were ushered to the waiting area. After 30 minutes or so, I went back to the host stand just to ask if they had an idea of what the wait would be, and she looks me right in my face and says "wait for what?". I said for a table. She said do you have a reservation? I said No, as previously stated. She said well you can order food and have it served in the waiting area, has nobody come to take your order? I said someone from the bar asked if we wanted a drink WHILE WE WAIT, But no offer to take a food order, nor were menus provided. She let me know they cant seat us in the dining room as they are fully booked but we can order and eat in the waiting area. I asked politely why that was not communicated to us when we arrived 30 minutes ago? She said it should have been. But it was not. Come to find out SHE is the one that told my us to wait in the waiting area, which implies we'd be waiting for a table. I asked her if she can see how this lack of communication would be frustrating for someone who drove 70 miles to eat here? Waiting would have been fine, but waiting for NOTHING is not. She began telling everyone that walked up to her that I was being rude, but I was not, not ev3n a little bit. She called my husband a liar for saying it was her that told us to wait in the waiting area. But I was the rude one for politely pointing out HER lack of communication. Oh well....we ordered burgers to go and ate them in the car. Food was good!

Came here for a second time to celebrate my birthday. Unfortunately, for a second time I was highly disappointed. Reservation was for 9:15. We were seated at about 9:10. It was 50 minutes before bread was brought out. It was about 40 minutes before the drinks were brought out. The waiter stated they were backed up at the bar. Makes no sense when the restaurant literally only had a handful of patrons. It was almost 10:30 before we received food. The food was decent. Not worth the price but it was pretty good. My favorite was the Lyonnaise potatoes. The next disappointment is that the waiter practically disappeared on us and we needed to go boxes. Finally tracked down another waiter and then after another 10 minutes or so he came back with to go boxes. He started packing our boxes but only finished packing half the table food before disappearing again. He came back with my birthday bread pudding but by this time I was so annoyed I advised not to worry about it and I just started grabbing to go boxes to pack our food because by this time it was 11:00. This is a similar issue we had the first time with the service being extremely slow and the waiters not being readily available when you need them. I assume everyone is trying to do closing duties so they aren’t on top of their tables like needed. If you are gonna allow reservations for later in the night you should work on time management in the kitchen as well as with the wait staff. Two hours is ridiculous to say the least when we only spent about 20 minutes actually eating. Needless to say, myself and my entire party of 8 was disappointed. I definitely will not be back again. The price does not match the atmosphere nor the service. We came all the way from Tuscaloosa to give it another try. Please do better.

First and last visit! We waited over two hours to get our order. The waiters are very nice and tried thier best to accommodate us. The chef over cooked my steak and some of the food at our table came out cold. We did not receive adequate discount or explanation for lack of service and quality of food. For the price and service, it was highly over rated and not worth it in my opinion.

We were disappointed with our dessert experience. While we anticipated an upscale dining experience, we were let down by the desserts. The Bread Pudding and Baked Apple Caramel were served chilled, as if from the fridge, which was surprising and disappointing as I was hoping for a warm treat (being a breastfeeding mother). We weren't offered heating options, and our room microwave wasn't working. Clearer communication about these items and better hospitality regarding guest needs are crucial for your establishment.

Ruths Chris has been our favorite restaurant for the last 15 years…. Amazing food in Maui, Aruba, California, Atlanta, Raleigh, and many other cities… Tonight my husband and I wanted to celebrate an anniversary and was ordering appetizers… The crab stuffed mushrooms were delicious but very cold… The fried oysters were good but cold… The creamed spinach was good but cold… We are Accustomed to the food meeting a high standard… We told our waitress and she had the Spinach reheated and it was much better… She asked if the manager had been by to speak to us and the manager had not… We asked to speak to the manager to let her know our disappointment but more importantly to let her know there’s a problem that maybe she wanted to be aware of… She did not show us the court courtesy of even coming to our table…they were not busy at 5:00pm…. Again our waitress was amazing but the food certainly was not to the standard we are accustomed to at Ruths Chris…. Disappointed to say the least…….

My husband and I decided to have a Thanksgiving lunch at Ruth Chris. I liked the picture of the meal on the website. We have heard so many good thigs about it that we decided to try it. First of all the waitress Isabell was just wonderful. I had a glass of Chardonay wine and it was great. Lets talk about the meal....my house salad had 3 cherries sliced tomatoes that were so wilted the skin was coming off, I did not eat them. The main course.... everything was cold except the plate. The plate was actually hot. The sliced turkey was so dry that it looked like the can of Albacore tuna we buy at Costco. We ate some of it and took home the left over because we have Racoons in the woods behind our house that we feed. We must admit that we are used to good food because I am Italian and a great cook according to my husband and his family. On the way out of the restaurant on the entrance steps we notice lots of dust, very embarrassing to us, the sun was shining on it and it discussed us. Lets say we will not return nor refer it to anyone else. I do not expect a feed back from the restaurant nor a coupon for the next meal. What a let down.

This place is simple living on its name at this point. Food has went down hill big time and was a huge disappointment! I honestly could look past the dirty table and appetizer plates (been in the service industry, I get it). The ambience is giving old dusty library vibes. The blinds are dusty and broken around the bar area. The curtains look like a cat auditioned for Mission Impossible on them. I’m almost certain the steak was even dusty. Dramatic? Sure. But the food came out cold, the drink tasted like regret, and the place is crying out for some serious TLC. Also… can olives expire? Because mine tasted like rubber and sadness in my dirty martini. PS we actually really enjoyed the wait staff.

Let me start by saying I’ve been to Ruth Chris for my birthday in Cancún, Aruba, DC, Atlanta, Charlotte and the list continues. Yesterday was my birthday and I had reservations for my birthday at the Birmingham location, the hostess asked me upon arriving did I have a sweater to put on top of the formal custom ball gown worn in the picture. I told her absolutely not. She advised she had to check with her manager concerning my cleavage, yes those little A cups…she returned and I assumed he just advised her just to sit me away from others because she sat me outside of the main dining room in the bushes. I said to I assume he just told you to sit me in the brown section. Remind you my sons just went to high school prom this year with large groups of friends that don’t look like us who wore the exact same gowns some even see through who did not get sat outside of population. Not to mention the female who came in after me (who picture I won’t post) with her butt cheeks out in flip flops and she sat her in the main dining room. My waitress Noel is the best thing this place has to offer. She was very empathetic apologetic and polite when I expressed this and she said the last thing she wanted was for my birthday to be ruined and she offered to move us to an appropriate location. She had amazing customer service and hospitality. THANK YOU NOEL!!!! I’ve been patronizing this place since I was 18 yrs old. 37 today….never have I ever felt so uncomfortable. The true fact is that we were overdressed for this small establishment. Only difference is the color of my skin didn’t validate what they wanted to market. Lesson learning. Last reservation.
