Absolutely amazing experience at this Afghani restaurant! The Quabili Pallow was a standout—perfectly cooked rice with tender lamb, bursting with flavor and spices. The Chaplee Kabob was equally impressive, juicy, and spiced to perfection. The ambiance is equally commendable, with a fantastic Arabic couch seating area that provides ultimate comfort. The bright lighting creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the waterfront views are simply stunning. Watching the falls and ducks while dining added an extra layer of tranquility to the meal. Highly recommend for both the food and the beautiful sitting!
This quaint restaurant was the perfect ending to our day excursion on the lake. We found it by chance, as we were looking for an early dinner and this outside seating area caught our eyes. What a great surprise!! All dishes we ordered were superb, authentic, fresh and just delicious! Even though the place just opened a few days ago, the service was superb & friendly. We will definitely be back for the best lamb chops on this side of the hemisphere!!
kabob House can was one of the most delightful culinary experiences I've had in a long time. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and full of genuine hospitality. The food is absolutely exceptional—each dish bursting with rich, flavorful spices and cooked to perfection.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this charming local restaurant, and it was a fantastic experience! The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for a family dinner or a date night. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcomed right from the moment we stepped in. The highlight, of course, was the food—especially their signature Kabob dishes, which were cooked to perfection. Their generous portions meant we left feeling satisfied and delighted. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious cuisine and a warm, enjoyable dining atmosphere.
The food was so delicious we Oder bolane and combo chicken and Beef.
786 Kabob House is the best place I have ever been in California! They serve the freshest meat, unlike many other places that rely on frozen meat from bulk suppliers. The outdoor seating is lovely, with tables by the water and traditional Afghan pillows and mattresses that add a special touch. The restaurant is impeccably clean, and the staff is both polite and professional. I highly recommend everyone visit, and don't forget to order the Qabilli and Bolani – they're absolutely delicious!
Their food, customer service, and environment is just amazing! Once you go here, you will want to go everyday. The area is so gorgeous! Such a cute romantic atmosphere.
I had an amazing experience at Kabob House with my whole family! The food was absolutely delicious each dish was flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The hospitality was exceptional; the staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. It truly felt like a home away from home. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and outstanding service. We’ll definitely be coming back!!!!!
Amazing food. Amazing afghani hospitality. Amazing atmosphere! This place has never failed us. Very delicious afghan kabob and desserts. Would highly recommend to anyone that wants a simple taste of Afghanistan! Highly recommend!
Hayat Kabob House has quickly become my favorite spot to eat—and for good reason! The food is absolutely delicious, always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every bite feels like it’s made with love and care. The place is also incredibly clean, which gives me confidence in the quality of everything they serve. What really sets Hayat Kabob House apart is their outstanding customer service. The staff is always warm, welcoming, and attentive. They make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. It’s the perfect place for a small gathering with friends—cozy, friendly, and relaxing. I truly love eating here and find myself coming back again and again. If you're looking for a great meal and a place that treats you like family, this is it!
We loved Hayat Kobab! The food was absolutely amazing—so good that we ended up ordering everything on the menu. Yes, the menu is small, but every dish was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. One thing we really appreciated was the balance—nothing was overly salty, including the meat and vegetables. It seems to be part of their tradition, and it made the food feel clean and wholesome. The standout? Their jello/pudding-like dessert. We ordered it five times! It was the perfect sweet finish. If you're near Black Hawk museum and looking for a great spot before a drive, stop by Hayat Kobab. You won’t disappointed
This is by far the best Afghan restaurant in the area! We've been to several others, but this place beats them all. It reminds me of GHARGHA! I've visited a couple of times with family and can't wait to bring friends next time. The service has been excellent on every visit, with polite and respectful staff. The only minor downside is that they don't offer Mantu, a popular Afghan dish, but we've suggested adding it to the menu. Despite this, I highly recommend this place. They tend to be very busy on weekends, but weekdays are much quieter.
Excellent staff and service, went above and beyond!! From the moment we sat down in the beautiful outdoor seating to the wonderful mixed kabob plates, we will definitely be coming back!
Excellent food. They have a really nice view next to the water with ducks and so on. The food here is excellent. The chicken kebab plate, chapli kebab and also the beef teka.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Outstanding Experience! We hosted a party for 40 friends at Hayat Kabab House, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, everything was handled so beautifully and professionally. They set up an amazing buffet with an incredible variety of food; every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The Chapli kabab, crispy bolani, baingan borani, and chicken kababs were absolute standouts and a huge hit with all our guests. We received nonstop compliments about how delicious everything was. A special mention to the owner’s wife for creating the most beautiful dessert table; it was elegant, thoughtful, and added such a lovely touch to the celebration. Even though our venue booking was until 3:00 pm, they graciously allowed us to stay longer, which we truly appreciated. The vibe by the duck pool made the entire event feel relaxed, scenic, and special. Every single guest loved the food and the atmosphere. If you’re looking for a place that delivers excellent food, warm hospitality, and a memorable setting, Hayat Kabab House is the place to go. Highly, highly recommended!
Hayat Kabab House is truly a hidden gem! The food was out of this world – every single dish was bursting with rich aromas and packed with flavor. The chicken kabab, chapli, and lamb shank were tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, filling the air with the smell of warm spices as they arrived at the table. The Qabuli Palao Rice was fragrant and layered with flavor, easily one of the most delicious and comforting rice dishes I’ve ever had. We ordered a variety of appetizers – three types of bolani (pumpkin, potato, and leek), garbanzo, and eggplant – and each one had its own unique aroma and texture, from crispy to juicy. Their house special rose lemonade was light, refreshing, and perfumed with delicate floral notes, and to top it off, they even treated us to hot, soothing tea on the house. We came for a girls’ night with seven of us and sat at the Afghani floor table by the water. The setup was absolutely gorgeous – soft lighting, the sound of water trickling from the nearby waterfall, the ducks quacking and the warm scent of freshly grilled kababs drifting through the air made it feel magical and transportive. The staff went above and beyond – the owners are some of the kindest people I’ve ever met. You can tell how hard they are working the minute you walk in, and their passion shows in every detail. They kept checking on us, explaining dishes, and offering recommendations. They even let us order family style, and the platters arrived like a colorful feast, beautifully presented and almost too pretty to eat. The restaurant itself is spotless, cozy, and so charming, with an inviting atmosphere that makes you want to linger. The prices are very reasonable for both the quality of food and the area we live in, which makes it an even bigger win. Honestly, we couldn’t stop eating – every bite was better than the last – and now all of us want to come back with our families. I would return here in a heartbeat. Between the mouthwatering food, the incredible hospitality, the inviting aromas, and the gorgeous ambiance, Hayat Kabab House is a true treasure. Highly recommend!
I recently dined at this restaurant and was truly impressed. The service at 786 Kabob House was excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself boasted a clean and inviting atmosphere with a delightful ambiance. The food here is absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Overall, my experience at 786 Kabab House was delightful. The delicious food, excellent service, and cool ambiance make it a restaurant worth visiting. I highly recommend it.
The house lemonade is really good. Ordered everything on the menu and it did not disappoint. As an Afghan, it is sometimes difficult finding an Afghan restaurant that exceeds our expectations. So far, I only like two Afghan restaurants. Afghan Awasana Kabob House in Fremont and now this one!
✨ Hayat Restaurant in Blackhawk is hands down one of the BEST spots for Afghan food in the area! The owners are so kind and welcoming, and every dish was a solid 10/10. 🌟 The kebabs? Truly out of this world!
We went to Kabab house yesterday for Eid 2nd day dinner because we wanted to go to a special place for this day and we saw this and really liked the view. We called and booked reservations because we wanted the outside view. When we went there it looked beautiful and we enjoyed the staff is extremely respectful with great customer service. The food was so delicious with such rich flavors and high quality. And the view while eating was amazing. The entire family loved it, we reserved it for the view and it was great. We live in fremont and went far out just for this restaurant. It was an amazing day at an amazing place. We took a lot of photos in front of the waterfall. There isn’t a better place than this. Highly recommend.
We visited this spot a couple of years ago, and recently noticed it had changed names—so we decided to give it a try again. Now an Afghan restaurant, it absolutely did not disappoint! We ordered the Chabli Kabob and Qabili Palaw, and both dishes were finger-licking good—full of rich, authentic flavors. Our waiter, Samy, was incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the experience even more enjoyable. This place is a hidden gem and highly recommended. We’ll definitely be back
We recently visited 786 Kabob House restaurant and had an excellent experience. The meat was some of the best we've ever had, and the location was perfect. There was plenty of parking available, and the food was very tasty. We tried the meat combination with rice, and it was delicious. We also enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the overall experience was perfect. We highly recommend 786 Kabob House to anyone looking for a great meal. We will definitely be back to try another plate!
Real authentic Afghan food we had chicken kebab, and chaplee kebab , the best, great food, quality service I’m sorry to say woud any one would give 2 stars? grow up they are serving great food will never ever give any one less then 4 stars
Get here before the tiktok generation discovers this place. The place gets crowded on weekends so reservations are recommended. The reason being the beautiful location around it. The food is as good as the view outside. The kebabs were one of the juiciest and tender bites i had tasted here in the bay area. The meat was marinated well and the brown rice had a mildly savory flavor. The Chapli was the show stealer of the sample. The place is expensive compared to other similar places around but the taste and ambiance make up for it. The service seemed relatively sluggish because we were super hungry but i do hope they get a bigger grill for faster kebobs. Will definitely visit again to try the rest of their menu.
I recently dined at this restaurant and was truly impressed. The ambience was delightful, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The real star, however, was the food. Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with flavors that left me speechless. It's a rare find where good ambience and amazing food come together so seamlessly. I can't wait to return for another exceptional dining experience.

What a taste sensation. I ordered the Teka Kabob which came with tri-tip. The seasoning and cook on the meat was perfect. The rice and naan and the cucumber salad were a great pairing. I highly recommend this place.
If you ever visited an afghan restaurant in the Bay Area, you haven’t visited one until you come and experience this hidden treasure. Excellent food. Excellent service. A must visit place for lunch and dinner. Beautifully designed outdoor seating as well. What a place❤️❤️❤️

If you’re considering this place — go! A really cozy and well designed restaurant overlooking the plaza’s lake. Perfect for warm nights. Seating is a mix of traditional tables and an afghan floor table for an authentic experience. The folks running the restaurant are very welcoming and friendly. I ordered a basic kabab, which came with a cucumber salad, rice and sauce. Great meal for the price. Can’t wait to go back!
I recently visited the restaurant, and just wanted to say that I love their food. They have the best authentic Afghan food ever. If you want to experience what it’s like to be in Afghanistan, you should consider this restaurant. I really enjoyed the vibes especially eating food by the water. I think all their food is top notch, but their bolani is something else. The flavors, the crispness, the spices are just different.
Seriously good food, if you like Mediterranean food don’t miss out on this. First time having Afghan food and my wife and I were just taken on a culinary journey of amazing flavors. The chef is amazingly talented, this isn’t kabobs, it’s Mediterranean fine dining at its best!

Purely on a whim but a little on need I drove out to Blackhawk Plaza yesterday. I didn't know anything about this restaurant, I had only bookmarked it purely because of its cute name. Ha Ha! I arrived 30 minutes before the kitchen closed at 8pm, inside the restaurant, there were 3 groups of customers all sitting at tables next to the windows. I ended up at a table next to a window too. It was perfect. The menu is a simple front and back list of food items and I thought the prices were appropriate. I ended up ordering an old "standby", their version of the Black and Blue Salad, and a cup of hot tea. The salad was only ok, I've had better. I wouldn't order it again and I wouldn't recommend it either. There wasn't a lot to the plate, lettuce, dressing, filet steak pieces, and topped with thinly battered onion rings. While there wasn't a lot to the plate, it did fill the craving I had and the atmosphere of this cute, quaint corner lot restaurant was exactly what I needed. I had brought some books I have been journalling in, since my mom passed away, this little restaurant and plaza and its ambiance was the space I needed to get some writing done. The staff was great. And because the restaurant wasn't very full, service was quick and attentive. More than what I needed. Also, since I had arrived so late I ended up staying past their closing time of 8pm. Thankful the staff was ok with me staying after they closed. There is a little patio to the right side of The Little Pear, that overlooks the lake. The patio is not huge but it appeared that it could fit quite a few customers, comfortably. The tables have umbrella's and there are heat lamps for the cooler evenings. I wanted to sit on the patio but the evening air was just too cold for me. Possibly another time. They also have a small bar area inside, with a TV. Like I said, it's small and quaint. In the evening the Plaza has white lights strung across the lake, it's fun. I tried to capture the essence and feel of the white lights in the plaza reflecting off the water. It makes the atmosphere a little festive, and definitely summery. The Little Pear is located in Blackhawk Plaza across from the Automotive Museum, it's cute, quaint and a corner lot, and it sits along the perimeter of the lake that's in the middle of the plaza. It's not warm and cozy inside so remember to bring a jacket if it's on a cooler evening. I think they could do a bit more with the decor, especially with the indoor tables and chairs.
I got there a bit early, cordial greeting, waiter could have asked if I wanted something to drink before my party arrived. I had to ask what drinks they offered, I opted for tea. I think he should have brought me a menu to look over while I waited. All and all, the food was very tasty and portions were plentiful. Try it, you will enjoy it. Outside seating is a plus.
The restaurant boasts a delightful atmosphere, water create a soothing backdrop. The food quality is exceptional, highlighted by the warm, freshly baked flat Afghan bread that is both soft and flavorful. It's the perfect spot to unwind and savor a delicious meal. Not vegetariean options besides snacks.
The food was great, the ambiance was excellent but the food was pricey and the service a tad uneven.
I stopped in for lunch after attending the All British Car Show in the Blackhawk Museum parking lot. It was after lunchtime, and I was the only customer with my pick of seating indoors or out. I chose outside to watch the geese and ducks in the water. The owner served me, and we chatted after he put my chicken kabob order in to the kitchen. He’s a very nice guy, and we had a great conversation. My chicken kabob was very tasty, especially with the spicy red chutney on it. The green sauce was good too, but I love spicy. The brown rice was good comfort food, but the cucumber salad was so fresh and tasty, I found myself wanting more of it than the rice. It was a great complement to the kabob. I enjoyed it very much, and I would return when I’m in the area again.

Great food. Dont understand why this was not packed during ramadan. Amazing customer service. 4 stars because the brea/naan needs to be fresh when serving. It was stale.
I visited this restaurant towards the end of July to celebrate my birthday. While the food was outstanding, the service left much to be desired. Our server was frequently on his phone and, despite many booths being unoccupied when we left, he refused to seat us at a larger booth, explaining that those were reserved for bigger parties. We barely had space for our food on the table. While I understand the policy, a small gesture of accommodation would have made a significant difference in our experience. The wait time for our order was quite long, which we were willing to overlook, but the biggest concern was the server’s inattentiveness. Each time we needed a water refill, I had to get the server’s attention from inside the restaurant, as we were seated outside. This was frustrating and disrupted our dining experience. That said, the food was exceptional. The bolani was fantastic, though the yogurt tasted slightly sour, suggesting it may have been a few days old. Despite these issues, I might give this restaurant another try, as I understand that off days happen. If I do return, I will update my review accordingly.
Atmosphere is gorgeous but the food and service can definitely be improved. Our server had airpods in the whole time and was overall kind of rude. The food was good but wasn’t the best afghan food I have had, bolani was delish but the yogurt it was served with tasted spoiled. The rice and kabob were good. the vibes and seating are good and food isnt terrible.

If u came here from the TikTok videos, or reviews of this place- PLEASE don't waste your time and money! Unfortunately, the food didn't had no taste or flavour to it whatsoever! EVEN the fast food tastes better than this.. To the owners, I understand that restaurants get busy, especially for Sunday night, but I don't think it's appropriate to wait an hour and twenty minute for the main meal to come Please please please, work on your customer service. I would write a precise description of how each of the food disappointed us, but there is so much sadness to be paying this amount and not even simple "dough" is good enough to drink. Your small kitchen isn't the problem sir, your attitude, the way how you treat your customers is. Hopefully, you can work on those things, so Afghan community can actually come and support this place, instead of ripping them off their money...
Because of how we've been duped by all of that social media—TikTok, Instagram, etc.—it is not worth traveling three hours to get here. Totally fraudulent. Every plate was served with cold bread on it. The waiter repeatedly gave us a shabby look and charged us for the service even though he hadn't requested for anything. Even though they were open when we arrived before closing time, the server said we shut off the tea machine when we asked for tea. What the hell? You people are not closed. pathetic, unhelpful, and expensive; it's hardly worth going for the scenario alone. Expensive food that doesn't even taste good. Ripping all those hardworking people off.
Let me start of by saying I drove about 6 hours to visit this restaurant because of all the good reviews on Google and cuz of what I saw on Instagram. I had already made a reservation 3 weeks in advance. Upon arrival to the restaurant we waited 10min for someone to come out, eventually someone comes out and says you need to wait for I'm assuming was the owner. We waited another 15min for the owner to come and seat us. We got seated but not for the booth that we reserved. I politely told the owner that we had reserved for a specific booth and he confirmed it over the phone at the time of the reservation. The man very rudely in from of my family told me "you can't have that booth because it's for a larger party so I can make more money" and than he says "if I set you up at the booth that you reserved for i would have to rush you guys while you eat" like why would you say that to a customer?? All while rolling his eyes and giving a death glare to everyone in my family. Very disappointed and frustrated with the guy. We had to get up and walk out because he wasn't giving us a chance to speak. Please learn how to politely communicate with your customers and learn some customer service skills. I don't now how this guys runs the place with that type of attitude.. ----- Reply and Update, June 23,2024 --- Hi, I'm not sure why your lying and stating that you never spoke with me over the phone regarding a reservation.. I could post screen shots of my call log for proof but that's not necessary, you did confirm with me in person when we sat down the name and party size. Your horrible customer service skills is why we decided to leave, nothing was pleasant from the start. And to reply to what you said with your last reply "Your food was ready, and we were about to serve you when you decided to leave, resulting in the prepared food going to waste". Sir, how was our food ready when you barely took our orders and went inside to attend to another customer. We literally canceled the order within a minute of you going inside to attend to the other customer.. it's hard to believe that almost 5 plates could be done in 1 minute!. Unless your food is frozen and you just pre heat it. We did not feel comfortable eating at the restaurant after the way me and my family were treated and thats why we left. And you assuming that I'm lying really shows how horrible your customer service skills are. Im not sure how your a restaurant owner with zero communication skills. Please take your money and family elsewhere to eat. You can get better portions and a bigger menu at other afghan restaurants (they don't have koobideh Kabob on the menu). This place is not worth your time and money.
They had nice outdoor seating but that was about it. Everything else was awful. Took my family to eat here and the food is definitely not worth the price. For the price that we paid I could’ve taken my family to a better restaurant in the city, and gotten better food. Definitely don’t waste your time and money here. There are better places to eat.
Very pricy, this kind of prices require a 5 star Atmosphere, service and on top of everything a professional chef. They charge way too much and nothing special at all. Yeah if they only charge for Blackhawk plaza then it’s different story. My last time, and my family won’t go too.
They had unnecessary service charges and the oil was smelly and billing and pricing wasn’t clean.
The place is very nicely decorated and has a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food was not good at all. We ordered Chapli Kabab and rice, and both were very disappointing. It doesn’t at all taste like Chapli Kabab , The bolani was good, but the baklava seemed old and not fresh. Overall, the ambiance is nice, but the food quality needs a lot of improvement.
