Opinions de Daddy'Os BBQ & Sports Bar Bloomfield
Been waiting for this place to open on 4th Avenue and Daddy O's BBQ of Bay Ridge didn't disappoint! Delicious, fresh pulled pork and brisket sandwiches with mac & cheese were a treat. Washing them down with ice cold beer was even better. If you're going to indulge, make the calories worth it! Nothing like good low and slow barbecue in the summer. Highly recommended. Great spot to watch sports and hang out. Owner was a nice guy. He also has Malone's Chophouse on 3rd Avenue, which is a winner too.
What a great place, the staff was awesome And knew how to take care of the customers. Definitely a chill spot to have a beer and watch a good game. I'll be back when I come back to Brooklyn
ME AND MY FRIENDS LOVE DADDY'Os!!! Nikki is the absolute best and also has the best food and drink recommendations. Her custom shots are the best in the town. Always fun coming in on a Sunday for some football and good vibes. DEFINITELY COME!!!
Barbeque fix activated! Ordered more than we could eat. I should of stopped at mac&cheese w chicken plenty enough for 2! Then I had the the brisket sliders and rack of ribs, which were both delicious. I must say I love their cornbread! That did not make it in my to go plate. Nicki was our server she was all smiles and full of suggestions. We had some shots she suggested that tasted like candy!
Food and Service were great, plenty of napkins on the table, plenty of choices on the menu. I had the Staten Island Bomber, it was amazing Mac and Cheese with pulled pork and braised ribs between Grilled Cheese Texas toast, corn bread is delicious and the pretzels for appetizers made me think of the pretzels on 86th st when I was a kid. Will definitely be a frequent customer
I really enjoyed the food and service at DaddyO's. I stuck to the BBQ standards, pulled pork and collards, and both were as good as I've ever had. Alissa, the server, was fantastic and memorable (in a good way) and she really elevated the experience. I don't much enjoy sports bars, and this is a sports bar all the way -- TVs blaring stuff I don't care about from every direction, and occasional screaming patrons. But I knew I was going to a sports bar so that's my problem, not DaddyO's. I would love to find a non-sports-bar BBQ restaurant with food and service this good.
The food is excellent but they, like most new restaurants, are still having trouble with the service aspect. Took a while to ever put our orders in for appetizers and it was difficult to get anything outside of our order (i.e. refills, ice). As of April 22, they don't have a liquor license so it's only water, soda, etc. I'm sure if I come back in a few months, it'll be better experience. Still, the food is phenomenal and the home-made root beer is good, too.
So I went for Father’s Day. It’s a new spot I figured that's why it's empty on a Sunday at 7pm but I dno . I figured I’d try it. First let me say the service was great the waitress. I think her name was Alyssa. She was fantastic. I ordered the brisket combo. Usually when I get brisket at a bbq place it’s a big slab of brisket, this was very thinly sliced. If I wanted it thinly sliced I would’ve got it on a sandwich. It was also very dry and gray pretty fatty but whatever . The mac & cheese they say is five cheese mac & cheese. Listen I’ve been eating boxed craft mac & cheese since I was a little girl. I know what boxEd mac and cheese taste like they sprinkled breadcrumbs on it to make it look like they made it on their own, maybe they did I don’t know, but it’s very, VERY similar to the boxed kraft mac & cheese. The potato salad I thought it was great except the fact that it had green apple in it I’ve never had potato salad with green apple in it. I was not a fan of the green apple, but the rest of the potato salad was really good. The owner asked me what I thought of everything. I told him I wasn’t a fan of the apple kn the potato salad and that everything else was good because I didn’t wanna hurt his feelings . Would I try this place again possibly maybe a year from now when they get their things together. I was also highly disappointed because I’m fat lol & I like dessert. I don’t understand how a bbq place has zero desserts they said they "don’t have the refrigeration for it right now” u can't put an apple pie or some cheesecakes in a refrigerator or even tubs of ice cream? but ok. Like I said, they just opened so I’ll give them another try about if they are still there in 6 months or so . Also, we got coleslaw, which is the generic tubs of coleslaw that any bodega gets. I just feel like if it’s a barbecue place you should have homemade potato salad and homemade coleslaw. Their potato salad was homemade obviously because it had green apple slices in it, the coleslaw was generic coleslaw u can get at any store it comes in 5 gallon tubs. We also got these chicken eggrolls. They were fantastic. That was the one thing I was really impressed with the waitress recommended them and I’m glad she did. . Then my boyfriend got the Staten Island bomber sandwich, he couldn’t eat it because the sauce that the pastrami, the pork and whatever else on that sandwich is covered in was so sweet. It was like maple syrup, caramel n sugar, just straight sugar. It was so sweet. It made his teeth hurt i thought he was overreacting till i tasted it. You couldn’t eat it , the corn salsa is supposed to be served cold. It was hot. Not a fan. I always had it served cold. But the cornbread i reeeeally loved. I feel really bad because I was really looking forward to this place but I have to be honest. I’ve written like 4 reviews my whole life. Always honest with all of them. The ice tea was nice, the Coke that my boyfriend got was watery so I guess they were running low on the syrup. I don’t know. I wasn’t impressed, but everybody was really nice. I always give my honest opinions. I think they just need a little more time to get themselves together and it might be a decent spot.
Good food, odd layout. The dining area is directly next to the bar which seems awkward when children are crawling around the restaurant. The day I was there, not many tables were in use(there appeared to be areas left unutilized) so many times there were significant wait times for seating. The menu was a little all over the place and no dessert menu was available. Parking seemed challenging. My food was good enough for a return visit while my sons bourbon chicken left him with doubts...too sweet. It's a great place to indulge.
Alyssa is just lovely. Positive, sweet, and quick- she’s the reason I’m not giving 1 star. The food is so lackluster here!
I happened across this place and was hopeful. Small place, about 50 seats and about 10 at the bar. 12 or 13 tvs, would be good to watch a game. As far as a bbq place, not. I ordered wings, pulled pork, brisket, pastrami with fries, coleslaw, and a piece of corn bread. Everything was dry, brisket and pastrami were tough and over done. Sliced thin like at a deli. Brisket tasted like pot roast. Cole slaw is ok on the vinegary side. Fries are ok.pork wasn't tough but had chunks and was over done. I've had bbq, smoked brisket as well as katz pastrami and never was it deli sliced thin. All meats ordered were over done, dry and tough, except for the pork that wasn't tough. Corn bread was too sweet like dessert. Staff was friendly and nice. Between the red lines is the thinness of the meat.
Terrible overprice food. Legit one of the worst BBQ joints I’ve ever visited. Just as well, seems they went out of business and I am not surprised whatsoever! Terrible.
Disappointing Experience – Poor Service and Food For the first time today I visited Daddy O’s BBQ Sports Bar specifically for their advertised happy hour. Upon being seated the waitress failed to mention a crucial detail that happy hour pricing only applies if you’re seated at the bar, when I clearly stated I would like to order happy hour items. When the check came, the drinks were all charged at full price. After raising the issue, the staff apologized for the misunderstanding but still insisted on charging the full amount. It honestly felt like a tactic to upcharge, especially considering I was the only customer in the restaurant at the time. You’d think with business slow, they would want to encourage return visits but instead, they doubled down on a sketchy policy and poor customer service. As for the food, also a letdown. The chicken was dry, overcooked, completely lacked seasoning and was hard as a cardboard. The mac and cheese tasted like it came straight out of a box. The pretzels tasted like they were defrosted from the freezer. The smash burger was the only decent thing on the menu. Definitely not what you’d expect from a place advertising themselves as a BBQ spot. To add insult to injury I was served expired hot sauce dated may 2025. Absolutely disgusting. Between the shady business practices and subpar food, this was a major disappointment. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend it to others either.
