My favorite chicken place. Great deals. Great fresh chicken. Fast service. Friendly atmosphere. Worth your money

The wife and I stopped in on our way back to Houston from Lake Somerville. The service was outstanding, they were very quick and prompt! The chicken is juicy and the tea is sweet! Overall a clean place to eat, we WILL be back!

It's fast. Food is good. Tea is amazing. Usually it's pretty clean. At least in 2016 when this is made its been pretty clean. Ignore this after 3 years and see for yourself if it's still kept up.

When people ask me how I stay so sweet at practically all hours of the day, I tell them it's because Bush's Chicken sweet tea, I drink that stuff religiously. In fact, I have consumed so much Bush's Chicken sweet tea, that it has marinated its sweet juices at a molecular level throughout my body and made me the man I am today! I also highly recommend the chicken. Basically what I'm trying to say is this is a very clean and safe environment that anybody can, and will enjoy and I hope whenever your belly, or your family and friends bellies are craving some chicken or sweet tea, you can make the right choice! Love the menu and you get a variety of options fried. Fast friendly service. I hate the one in Katy off of 529 closed abruptly. Still wondering what happened. Such a lost to the community. Sad.

Always love eating here. The employees are friendly and are prompt with service (I hope they are paid well, if not they deserve to be!). The food is always hot and fresh, save for a few rare instances something is wrong, which can happen with any restaurant. Overall this is definitely one of my favorite places to have some lunch.

On point. You can tell it was cooked in fresh oil . The chicken was battered perfectly I got a four piece chicken tender meal with macaroni and cheese and okra as a side and was very impressed. The sweet tea was even a winner and I'm a southern woman.

Loved the drive-up with wait staff instead of speakers. Great chicken, got exactly what we ordered, very fresh. Good value for the price. Will be back.

I absolutely LOVE Bushes Chicken!! it is the best fried chicken l have ever tasted! The workers and managers are very kind and friendly. They work with you to make sure you receive the best service possible. You are welcomed the second you enter by the staff and the delicious aroma of chicken. They are very quick in getting your order out, weather ordering inside or the drive thru. If you want a simple meal or a caterer for a special occasion, Bushes is the way to go.

I was on a road trip, my family and I went through Brenham we were all hungry then I remembered about Bush's Chicken! I have heard so many great comments about the place so we decided to stop by and it was worth it! A pretty with braces attended us, such a kind young lady super helpful since it was our first time! The chicken was nice and fresh, nothing like I have ever experienced before! super clean, a perfect place to take your family.

They never disappoint, chicken is really good. We tried chicken strips for the first time, one cause we had our grandkids with us and they love to eat chicken strips, and it was the sunday special, oh and you can't forget the gallon of tea. I'm just waiting to see if there bringing franchises (Bush's chicken ) down to the valley.

I opted for the fried chicken even though they had a really good deal on tenders. The chicken was REALLY fresh and juicy. The corn nuggets were tasty! I'll be back for the gizzards!

They are always friendly. The food quality (for fast food) is always great. The food always tastes good. This is our go to for fast food.

Always a favorite to visit. Not many in south Texas. Glad I found this one. Tender Tuesday!!! I’ll be back.

The cashier was cheerful and helpful. I got tenders with fried okra. I thought they'd give me just a few pieces of okra but was overjoyed to see that they were pretty generous. The rolls are those sweet yeast ones - they're good if you like them. The chicken was pretty good, too.

I love Bush's. It's consistently good and always hits the spot. They have fried okra which is just amazing. It's hard to find places that sale it. This is definitely fast food but it's worth the price. It's pretty cheap and always good.

A great franchise, wherever you go the place is clean, fast service and consistency is there. Chicken tenders are huge and I save the roll for dessert.

What a strange drive thru. The girl was super nice and the food was pretty good. The fries needed some salt, but they had a great crunch.

Went in at about 1::30 ish sign says Baked Chicken 11-3. They told us we have to call ahead 1 hour for roast chicken….whaaat?

Chicken was good, but service was extremely slow since we asking for thighs only instead of mixed. Staff was pleasant.

I like Bush's Chicken I was disappointed in the size of my chicken wings this time, but the taste was still good tho. So I wanted to rate a 2 due to that but it says I disliked it, and I like Bush's Chicken

Amazing crispy fried chicken for low prices. But, I wouldn't recommend the Mac and Cheese or Mashed potatoes (the gravy it great though).

Pretty good Chicken! I would recommend this place to anyone unless you just robbed a bank then maybe you should eat somewhere else because the police love to eat here! For all you other folks you will get a great meal and be well protected from the bad guys!

Best chicken tenders I have had all year! The sides however were lacking in the taste and freshness dept but overall the employees that helped me were very friendly throughout my visit.

Tenders are really good, and the fries are yummy. Sometimes the food lacks seasoning a bit. The macaroni doesn’t taste like anything but other than that it’s a pretty good spot. They support first responders too 👍🏽

Chicken tenders are very generously sized, cooked perfectly so they are both crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Staff is fast and friendly. Only negative is that the entire place smells like hot oil and that smell follows you for the rest of the day. It could use better ventilation.

Drive through is pretty horribly designed, has a tendency to get very backed up. The food is pretty good, would not recommend the Mac and Cheese though, tastes like gasoline imo. Staff is usually friendly and the service is usually relatively quick.

My favorite spot in Brenham for speedy, but not fast food! Good food and service. Dine in available bit they also have a drive thru of sorts. Old school where someone comes out to take and later deliver your order.

I had the liver and gizzards with a side of fried okra. The food was fresh and the batter was like homemade. Very good tasting too. Also the place was clean which is important. Wish we had these up north. Overall a fastfood place with better than average food at a good price.

Maybe it's just me but Bush's chicken is always so blend. It's not bad by any stretch of the imagination, they could throw a little seasoning on it. It doesn't even have to be all 11 herbs and spices, just a few would do.

Enjoyed the chicken but I noticed one of the workers on the serving line sneezed and used his hands to cover mouth afterwards he did not go wash his hands which is very bad hygiene for someone fixing boxes. The manager/ owner should instruct their people on hygiene parties around food. I grew up in a family owned reasterant and decided to mention this so the Manger will teach there employees! Thank you! I also noticed that a customer was standing in line and no one said a word so he walked out that said ! Yes they where busy bur very easy to say( we will right with you in a minute!!

There were 5 workers. ALL of which were working the drive through. There were atleast 8 cars in the drive through & 4 on the inside including myself. There was no mgr & a bunch of young teens working. The service was extremely slow, however, the food was fresh, but the chicken breast was really tough in texture. The youngsters were doing their best. I just suggest NOT eating there breasts; they are always weird in texture.

The food is good as all ways, but the service as this location has gone downhill I waited 15 minutes inside the store before being attended to the employees inside we being loud and obnoxious and talking to each other instead of coming and serving guests, the people behind us left after also waiting 15 minutes. I love Bushs chicken but they need to step up the service at this location

This location seems fairly new and was "mostly" clean, which we appreciated. The food, however, seemed like it may have been sitting under the heat lamp a little too long the chicken had a few odd textures, and my grandma even found a small feather in hers, which was definitely unexpected. Despite that, everything else was okay, and it wasn’t a terrible experience overall. Hopefully just an off day, because the place has potential.

Ok...So I love me some Bush's Fried Chicken. Happend to be in Houston and had to drive an hour to get to this location. Got there and saw a construction trailer in the parking lot and found out they were closed for some construction. As we sat in the parking lot contemplating the next move, we watch another 3 cars pull up to the drive thru only to find out they were closed. I updated the location with a "Temporarily Closed" which is what the store should have done so we didn't take a 2 hour round trip for nothing!

Food is mediocre. It won't kill you but you will definitely feel it for days.

I when and got a two piece chicken meal and one of the pieces was fresh and hot and the other piece was old, cold,dry and hard even though I asked for fresh and had to wait over 20 minutes and this is not the first time. Do better we work hard for our money. I was going to take it back but I just put in the trash.

Obviously, I must have caught them on an off day or they don't like people visiting their city. It took 30 minutes to get order from drive thru, no apologies offered. Food was cold, nothing worse than cold gravy. BUT the worst thing was they charged my bank account twice for one order. Beware consumer.

Ordered chicken tenders more like chicken jerky. Could hardly chew them cole slaw and green beens were good. The place could really use a good cleaning and the bathrooms smell horrible. Employee's were very nice but it's not worth the price.

This is the 2nd time I've ordered and asked for Baby Bush sauce and dont check before I leave and when I got home I got the basic gravy instead. I'm just not a fan of white gravy yall. Do better. The fries were not fresh this time either. Slightly dissatisfied by the service this time around. I even tipped the worker outside.

Decided to eat at this location, because McDonald's failed. If you go to the drive through to order, certainly the service must be decent. However inside this establishment the ladies and gentlemen helping did well with order taking and the lady who took our order was open to taking the order, seems nice, but working in the front takes inviting composure and complete communication with the guest. Had me wonder , is my payment complete, or you gathering my food , okay, what about my drinks? It was only 2 customers in the restaurant at the time. The most important of all is always maintaining a clean lobby and tables, it's of importance to always have clean establishment for guest to sit and dine and enjoy. A "coaching " is needed here , so that the employees no what is important. If management does not make this priority, then the Manager needs "coaching" . Also, we all need entertainment, but having loud music, blasting from the background is not a good thing, I'm just old school. The meal, the breading was hard and chicken was lacking flavor. I know this review is not what this establishment wants to hear, but the constructive criticism is needed. It makes you grow and succeed. I too, learn from constructive criticism, builds character and knowledge for future success.

Pros: Food was edible, crispy chicken coating Cons: bland chicken and breading. Green beans were flavorless and mushy. Mac and cheese had no flavor. I've had better chicken and sides from a gas station!

Gizzards were hard as a rock and had either been fried two, three or four times or sat under a heat lamp for 48 hours. Terrible. Should be ashamed to sell such a poor quality product .

They’re constantly out of the food I try to order. Even to the extent of being out of chicken strips. Good food, but if you don’t have it, I can’t enjoy it.

My baked chicken was very dry i was very upset.my fries were really cold and they gave me very little fries.you pay for a meal and they just take your money..I don't recommend BUSCHS CHICKEN..

New Informative/Review- I used to love Bush's Chicken we usually go there at least once or twice a week. I thought the new management was struggling for a while after under going a huge staff turnover, however I gave them the benefit of the doubt and continued to go. They improved somewhat, but I mean hiring young kids who just don't care is bad business in the food industry. It shows tremendously at Bush's. They probably only have one decent worker that always does a great job from my point of view. Anyways I have a Cub Card that has Bush's if you spend more than $25 you get $5 off the total purchase. (see pics below) So tell me why I went last night for the Tender Tuesday Special and was told I could not use my discount from my Cub Card? The card does not say anything about any exclusions and has no fine print on anything not even specials. I'm done with Bush's in Brenham. I refuse to go to places and spend my money where the establishment always makes mistakes, has horrible customer service, and gives you what they want and not what you order. I can take bad food over bad service any day. The manager told me that the school puts them on the card without permission, I was insulted as if he thought I was that stupid, to think the high school would do this to a business with out their permission. Bush's is fraudulent and maybe we should not purchase the cards from the school if business' do not honor them. Food for thought!!!!!!

Terrible! Just left this location where I spent $30, ordered 20 Chicken strips, rolls, and 2 boxes of okra. Everything was cold and clearly not fresh. Do not waste your money. Very disappointed after visiting the Austin locations!

Worst experience. I ordered a 2 pc chicken and both pieces you couldn’t even bite into. I spoke with the supervisor she was very rude and didn’t want to refund me because she said that 1 pc of the chicken was broke into. I ordered as soon as they open so obviously this was left over or overcooked.

Fries were undercooked and chicken was cold. Waiting for 15 min and only ordered one thing. EXTREME lack of diversity, most likely due to poor management. Also the employees don't wash their hands from the restroom. . . Don't eat here if you want good food.

I walked in and stood there waiting to order, and the employees stood there taking to each other. I waited 5 Mins to order and then they said one min please and went back to their conversation. Worst service EVER!....and didn't get any food. Stay away from this store. The bathrooms are dirty also. My 8 year old daughter didn't want to go: there. Unbelievable!!

So we went thru the drive thru to order a 10 piece meal. We asked for all dark meat, as usual. At first we were told that it would be 10 minutes, because the cook just dropped some. No big deal, we said we'd wait. Then he comes back out to say that the manager said we couldn't have all dark meat because they won't get more chicken until Tuesday. We left, and won't return. Someone apparently didn't order correctly. We used to eat there a lot. Never again.

Burnt okra, Mac and cheese tasted horrible, chicken over cooked and dry. Y'all used to be better. Won't be back anytime soon

Forget this place. Waited 5 minutes there were 8 people working and no one said "hi, I'll be with you in a minute," or acknowledge us in any way, other than to just look at us. If you're looking for southern hospitality, this is NOT your place.

Food was ok, the tables and bathroons were filthy. Did not seam to learn cleaning technique during the COVID shut down. People would like and know that where they set to eat is clean, not just taking trash off the table.

I am from out of state. I went thru drive through jist then to place an order. While I waited I could see into the place behind the service counter. The girl dropped a whole load of cups onto the floor. She giggled then picked them up and piled them together then loaded them for consumer use. I got manager and my answer was that this normally does not happen. I would never eat there again and. Tell eveeypne I know thos story that mentioned this place. Eat there at your own risk.

The Brenham store is staffed with a bunch of teenagers with no adult supervision. They are disrespectful, unprofessional and need lessons in listening get to customers. The food is not gourmet I understand that. But the kids working there are an example of what is not right with youth today. Foul language in front of my kids, charged me almost double from not listening, and the manager that corrected it wasn't apologetic at all. We won't be back.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! Food was incorrect THREE times and when i spoke to manager/employee... the person(people) kept arguing with me and attempting to over speak me as I was speaking!! Also took money from my credit card WITHOUT my permission. I'm sitting at home eating dinner when my phone notifies me that BUSH'S CHICKEN has done ANOTHER transaction with my card. So if you eat here I HIGHLY ADVISE you NOT to pay with a credit card AND be sure to CHECK YOUR ORDER(S) BEFORE leaving that place. I DEFINITELY WONT be returning there. Tasteless, overpriced chicken. Zero seasonings in batter. They actually offer you packets of seasonings to sprinkle on the chicken. Here’s a novel idea…put the seasonings in your batter & make a better product. $50 for 20 tenders & 2 sides that dont serve 4 people is terrible. Never again. Cannot recommend.

Landed in Houston grew up loving Bush's Chicken in Austin and I had to go drive 2 hours to get livers just like always get there and they don't have any livers call and complain to one of my friends that still lives in Austin and he said it's a normal thing they never have livers anymore. Turned around and drove back to the airport and miss my once in 4 years trip to bushes to get livers.

Went in to pick up chicken yesterday. This was the most flavorless chicken I have ever had! The best thing was the mashed potatoes and gravy because I added seasoning! Just horrible waste of $45.00!!! Won't go back

Do not eat here. A friend and I watched a young man who works there drive up get out of his car and enter the place to start his shift. We basically all walked in at the same time. He did not wash his hands and went straight to work touching the tongs and everything else. I told him he would not be able to serve me until he washed his hands. I was disgusted and did not enjoy my dining experience.

We had gone there the previous Tuesday and we were told we got 2 sides with tender Tuesday orders. We also got 2 drinks and the total was $14. This past Tuesday we went and I asked the kid how many sides do I get with tender Tuesday and he replies 2. When I get home and look at the receipt, it was almost $19!!!! I don't like liars or thieves so I will never go back!!!! I was charged $6 for 2 sides!!! If that's what it's suppose to be then fine but don't lie to my face!!! It's a shame because the week before was good and this week was good as far as food was concerned. I can't trust this business......

For the second time within 30 days, I received the wrong order from the drive through service. If I even go back, I will always check my order before paying. Both times, I ordered the daily special of legs and thighs with sides. I received the mixed chicken last time and today got chicken tenders. I recommend you check your takeout before leaving. If I didn’t live 20 minutes away, I would’ve gone back and complained. There isn’t any way to contact the owners through their website, so I’m using reviews on Google Maps.

I ordered the 8 piece liver meal at this Brenham location. Our server said that the livers were good to go, but all they did was take the livers that had to be sitting there for quite a while and fry them again!! They were full of grease and tasted awful!!!! I only ate half of them and still have an upset stomach for them!! I wouldn't have given the server the dollar tip that they always beg for if I would have known how bad the meal was going to be!!!! I'll never go back to Bush's again and can't wait for Golden Chick to open up in Brenham..... 👎

What a Waste of time & money! Fried Chicken coating was very, very soggy; the fries were under cooked, and limp. Not even close to eatable. First and last time I will be in this chain restaurant. At 1 PM on a Monday they should have better food.
