Just finished excellent takeout from these folks, even better than the last time I dined in. Outstanding chicken tikka masala (so much flavor, not too much cream, tender chicken) and a really lovely black dal. They’re the warmest, sweetest people, treated me like gold when I brought a few friends in. Really enjoyed our saag paneer and makai kofta when we ate there too.
We recently stopped by The restaurant Ruchi of India and it’s been one of best best best Indian restaurants around upstate NY. We were quickly seated and in no time we had our food on table. The food was freshly made and tasted heavenly. Few of my favorites on the menu - Goat Biryani, Grilled Chicken Tikka, Grilled fish and Kerala fish curry. Definitely a must try and I am 💯 going back again!!!
Cannot rave about this restaurant & the lovely owners enough! After an exhausting travel day, my grammy, aunt, & I were looking for a quick spot to fill up - we couldn't have picked a more perfect place! Their weekend buffet had a plethora of incredible options, which was a pleasant surprise considering we're all 3 plant based. The veggie cutlets, aloo baingan, & yellow dal were my personal favorites. The buffet also included drinks, & the mango lassi was the best I've ever had! The 2 owners who helped us were so genuinely kind & attentive. We are so pleased to have stumbled upon a new favorite restaurant!
This place is a gem! I had lunch with my mom and aunt here about a month ago and we thought the buffet and included desserts were excellent. As a vegetarian, I was expecting to fill up on naan and just pick a bit but there were several options here. And our sever, Adi, was delightful! She stayed by our table for a while and we enjoyed chatting with her. When she heard that my birthday was the day before, she went to prepare a surprise, personalized dessert spread for us- on the house! They make a great mango lassi, too. We loved this place and will definitely return.
Customer service was fantastic. I haven’t ate Indian food in quite some time and their lunch special was great. Very good portions and everything had good flavor!!
We recommend this restaurant for authentic Indian dishes, this is run by a first time restaurateur and does not employ the usual short cuts which other restaurants follow. The usual batch processed taste which you find in other restaurants is not evident in any of their dishes. This year we attended the "Onam Sadhya" which exceeded our expectations. There were around 30 dishes and the owner / staff handled the crowd in a very professional manner to ensure that the dishes are served in a very methodical fashion and adequately staffed to meet the demands of 50+ people dining at the same time. Attaching a pic of the dishes served on a banana leaf in a traditional manner. We have lived in this town for past 24+ years and to have a traditional Onam Sadhya we had to travel 45+ mins to Tuckahoe or NJ. Keep up the great work.
Best Indian! Love this place!!! And the place is Covid Clean! Very courteous, thoughtful & efficient staff! Had no problem making special orders if you have allergies, They are always accommodating, They even gave a free lg container of rice to go with our left over ! Very thoughtful waiter! Can't say it enough how impressed I was! Service was quick, without making you feel rushed …. & the price's for our meals were just awesome! 😇❤😀
One of the best Indian restaurants nearby, especially since the restaurant has been thriving under new management. We tried lunch buffet. All dishes were so good. In addition to dining options, they also provide catering services and have a spacious party hall downstairs. The food quality and service are truly commendable. I strongly recommend Ruchi Indian Cuisine in Peekskill, formerly known as Nila, for an authentic Indian feast." They are planning for Onam sadya on September 14th.
Went for dine-in service tonight (we usually do takeout) and the food and service were phenomenal. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. My favorite dishes (navratan korma and palak paneer) were delicious and stayed hot the whole time. The olive oil naan was crispy and tasted great. My husband prefers his naan thicker but I liked these thinner pieces for the texture. All in all, very happy. I’ve never had a bad meal here.
Ruchi is a 10/10 experience. You go to Ruchi for the food, but you stay for the people. Sammy treated us with the utmost respect, and told wonderful stories about his time living and growing up in India. Of course, if you want a quiet meal, he will leave you be! The goat was absolutely delish - some of the best I’ve ever had. I would recommend to everyone. I even learned that in India, the food is so spicy because of the hot climate. Hot food helps them sweat to naturally cool the body down.
Amazing food, very friendly staff! We placed an order unknowingly right before they were closing and they gladly took it. The owner was even kind enough to change the channel to a Bollywood movie as I waited for my food and we talked about other Bollywood actors. Food was also delicious and the decor is very welcoming inside.
Our favorite local Indian restaurant! The flavors are authentic, delicious, and always incredibly satisfying. Every dish we’ve tried has been packed with spice, freshness, and care. If you’re looking for amazing Indian food in the area, this is the place to go.

1st time here and the first time eating Indian cuisine. The restaurant was clean and the staff friendly and professional. All the food was fantastic qnd I had plenty of left overs to enjoy the next day. We will definitely be back!
Had such an amazing meal here. Rucci’s is one of my favorite spots for authentic Indian foods. We had butter chicken with garlic naan and it was just one of the many amazing dishes to get. I highly recommend this family owned restaurant!! Samy was so kind and sweet and made us feel right at home. He took time to make sure we were all set and to give us the best experience at the restaurant as possible. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!!!
Amazing Indian food!!!! The service was great and the servers were very patient and kind. The food is delicious of course. We asked for extra rice and it was given to us very promptly. The mango lassi is delicious. I wanted a little bit of spice and the server put in “mild +” for me which is just below medium- and it was the perfect amount of spice. Very accomodating. Definitely will continue to come here! I have ordered take out from here in the past and was given 2 free sodas! Very kind owners.
We got together with friends for a delicious dinner at Ruchi of India! There was good variety of curries, breads including puri, and good drinks (mango lassi, fresh lime soda, and beer). The service was friendly and gracious. This is a very special and wonderful restaurant! A very good value too! Highly recommended.
Absolutely love Ruchi. The restaurant is always spotless and the staff are incredibly courteous, thoughtful and efficient. They have no problem accommodating special orders and allergies and they’re consistently friendly and attentive. We dined in and also ordered extra to take away. We had the butter chicken (mild) and a mango lassi both were excellent. Service was quick without ever making us feel rushed and the waiters were genuinely lovely. They even gave us a large container of rice to go with our leftovers which was such a thoughtful touch. Great value too!!! very fair prices for the quality of the meals. Highly recommend!

Sammy the floor manger was a great host! Had the chicken tiki masala and it was very tender. He gave my friend and I a complimentary dessert to try I don’t remember the name but it was like a fried donut munchkin. He told us on the weekend they do buffet style, looking forward to going back.
We went to this restaurant and had a mixed experience. The atmosphere was okay, and the food was average. The masala dosa was good, and it came with two chutneys, sambar, and a sweet. Food was served really late. The thali we ordered had small portions. The service was weird - the owner made a rule about not sharing food, but then didn't charge us for it. The tax was 20%, which was high. We asked for medium spice, but the food was very spicy. Overall, we were disappointed with our experience.
Went to the restaurant for my mom’s bday and the service was bad, we were the only table and had to constantly try to get the waiter’s attention who was more interested in the TV. Ordered two masala dosas that were cold by the time we got them. Sat there for over half hour after we finished waiting for the waiter to come over. There were 3 tables at this point. No bill was given to us, just a credit card machine that did not print a receipt. Had to ask for an itemized bill. Masala Dosa is $14.95 each and yet we were charged $36 for 2. Not sure why we charged more as we didn’t ask for any changes or added anything extra. My mom is too sweet, I personally would have sent the food back and said something. Only saw the itemized bill when we got home. Very unprofessional and disappointing.
It is unnecessarily expensive. The lassi we ordered was in a tall glass but the volume was less than half the actual usual serving. I don’t know who put those prices but no one should pay that money for the kind of food that was served. To top it off, the owner mandatorily charged 20% tip without asking. I asked him to remove and then he pleaded to give a tip when I said I hate such malpractices and I don’t like such things. I ended up tipping anyway. He was having food on the counter and when asked for a plastic cup, he used his dirty hands to give the cup. We had to throw away the cup. This place is a big avoid. Shameless owner and substandard food.
