Saw it on social media and had to go. House fried rice, oxtail empanadas, pepper shrimp YOWZERZ! DELICIOUS! All the rice dishes are something special. That freaking chicken is the best roasted chicken I've tasted! Needs to be in a Michelin star restaurant..go try this place..you won't be disappointed..

I've been trying to get here for some time now and all I can say is that it was definitely worth the wait. The oxtail empanada.....BEYOND AMAZING!!!!! The pepper shrimp and chow mean to die for. I will most definitely be back. Can't wait for the summer time to roll back around so I can try their famous soursop and passion fruit slushies.

If you're in the mood for some mouthwatering fried shrimp, this is the ultimate spot! The cherry on that would be the tarter sauce which they don't carry. Trust me, takeout is the way to go! I was blown away when the young lady at the front actually remembered my name—what a delightful surprise since I don't visit often! And let me tell you, I also indulged in a pineapple cake that was absolutely delicious! 🍍🎉 Definitely a must-try!

Carifesta Restaurant is a true hidden gem, especially if you’re craving authentic Chinese-Guyanese cuisine. The flavors took me straight back home — everything was seasoned perfectly and made with love. I tried the lo mein, fried rice, and pepper shrimp, and each bite was better than the last. The fusion of Chinese and Caribbean flavors is unmatched, and the portion sizes are more than generous. The staff was super welcoming and made the whole experience even better. Definitely a spot worth visiting if you want real, flavorful food that hits the spot! OH LAWD‼️‼️

Probably because I got there on a Sunday by 12:30PM which is close to opening time but not only was the food great, the service was great too. I guess I got lucky in that regard after reading the reviews prior to my visit. The mixed fried rice was a delight and that oxtail empanada was phenomenal so highly recommended! Coconut buns are really good with some warm milk in my opinion.

So I went here for the 1st time the other day, and my experience was absolutely wonderful. Staff was very nice, explained a couple of dishes. Very professional. I had to wait about 15-20m because the oxtail empanadas are freshly made. So I ordered 2 oxtail empanadas, and chicken fried rice. 1st of all that fried rice had to be one of the best I've had in a decade!! Chicken very juicy and flavor town did not disappoint!!! Empanadas are great too butter beans in it and the spice was spicing!! Tasting pepper throughout. Wonderful experience!! Definitely going back probably today 😂😂

This place is truly a hidden gem! Such a great find in the neighborhood. Everything I tried was amazing, from the classic chow mein to the flavorful pepper shrimp and the delicious jerk chicken loaded fries. And you have to try The oxtail empanadas! I’ve never had anything like them before, and they are an absolute must-try! The ambiance is cute too! The wall art and the beautiful green floral wall make for some great photos. What makes this place even more special is that it’s a family-owned and operated business. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming, making the experience even better. If you haven’t been here yet, you’re seriously missing out!

The restaurant is very clean. The young lady that took my order did an amazing job. The chicken fried rice was excellent!! Very very tasty….the taste of Guyana 🇬🇾 I would say. I am always looking for that authentic Guyanese chicken fried rice and Carifesta delivered! Yummy! Now I am eager to try their other dishes, including their chicken curry. I haven’t tasted a good one yet in NY. We shall see 😉

This was my first time eat from here...and I must say it did not disappoint. My food was amazing , Jasmine and Arianna was so pleasant. By far some of the best customer service I have ever had. I purchased 2 chicken fried Rice, Lamb fried Rice, 1 House special ...I highly Recommend

I have to amdit that the shrimp fried rice and regular fried rice was delicious. The fried chicken was really good. However, the BBQ chicken was actually jerk chicken that they cooked in bbq sauce as you can see that it was burnt, that was disappointing. I would recommend double checking your food before leaving to make sure you have the right order. Overall, I enjoyed the meals I had. This place is truly a hidden gem! I would definitely give it a second try.

I have ordered from this restaurant several times. The House Special Fried Rice is usually my preferred dish. Sometimes it is very good, especially when it is made fresh. Other times, it is just okay, likely because it was sitting out or reheated. The quality seems to depend on the day and how busy the restaurant is. The restaurant has no seating and is intended mainly for take-out. It is important to call and place your order before arriving. If you do not call ahead, you will likely wait close to an hour for your food.

I visited Carifesta in the Bronx recently and was extremely disappointed. The wait time was excessive, ranging from 30-45 minutes, which really put a damper on the experience. The chicken fried rice was soggy and overly soft almost to the point where it didn't require chewing, which is definitely not how fried rice should be. Additionally, the prices have increased to about $15 per box of chicken fried rice since my last visit, and they pass the credit card fee onto customers, so it's actually better to pay with cash if you can. I used to really enjoy this place, but the quality of the fried rice and the long wait time make it hard to recommend now. By the time I got my large order, the other food was sweating and losing its appeal. I hope they improve because I really wanted to love this place again.

If you saw their TikTok videos and are thinking it’s a new place to try, don’t do it. It’s not worth it or the hype. The food is basic, and most of the menu items weren’t even available. I went right when they opened at 12:30, and still had to wait 45 minutes to an hour for my food. Overall, a very disappointing experience.”

I had high expectations from this place. Placed order for pick up.. I ordered their fried chicken. On the website/ menu the price was listed as $11 but l was charged $13. The chicken was not crispy and portion was extremely small for the price. The chicken has an off taste to it and was missing a sauce on the side. Unfortunately I won't be back.
