Opinions de Beets and Carrots Brooklyn
This is one of my favorite family-run neighborhood restaurants. The food is always delicious and beautifully presented. It may take a little time to prepare, but isn't that kind of the point of a farm to table restaurant where everything is made from scratch?
The restaurant is bright with cute decor. The food was fantastic. We’ll be going back.
Delicious restaurant! I am big on healthy clean food and this restaurant is everything i needed during my visit to new york. The restaurant is beautiful with a very healing atmosphere and cute plants at each table. The food is excellent, very flavorful and healing for the tummy! Everything is homemade from scratch and super yummy! I had the Russian soup, half chicken, and mixed berry sorbet. I also had all the coffee which was yummy! The people who work there are very kind and attentive. I have a very special diet and they listened to me and were able to accommodate it. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Wow! A little off the beaten path, but absolutely delicious and worth the trip. My wife and I tried this spot for the first time, and the menu immediately stood out, so unique that we wanted to order everything (and we’ll definitely be back to try more). What we did have was nothing short of a culinary delight. Crab cakes with a lemon gel so tasty you could eat by itself, a three-egg omelette with duck sausage, and added a flavorful veggie salad of beets, peas, artichokes, etc that came out warm, an unexpected but wonderful surprise. Service was on point and you don't feel rushed, which is a welcome in NYC. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner and chef, Slava, a friendly, appreciative person. And so talented. Places like this deserve our support. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
What an amazing place. Came here for a girls night dinner. The chef is so creative and the menu is full of original dishes and many options. Tons of vegan options also and lots of farm to table choices. Everything tasted amazing and the service was very personal and had a great feel to it. Soup - we tried 2 we’re both fantastic. Duck was delicious and perfectly cooked. Salads and especially the beet and carrot hummus were phenomenal and the pasta dish was very hearty and tasty. The owner is also the chef and he is very crafty. We had a blast and will be back soon.
Honestly, this restaurant is Michelin-star standard. From presentation to flavor, everything is spot on. You can truly feel the chef’s passion in every dish—each plate is crafted with fresh ingredients that allow the natural flavors to shine through. The duck was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection and bursting with taste. It’s an elevated fine dining experience without any pretense, just pure excellence on the plate. Highly recommend giving it a try—you’ll be impressed from the very first bite to the last!
We’ve been coming to Beets and Carrots for over five years, and it’s still one of the best-kept secrets in Bay Ridge. The food is consistently exceptional — made with care, creativity, and heart. If this restaurant were on the Michelin radar, I truly believe it would have a star. The Beets and Carrots salad is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully composed. The mac and cheese is always a standout — especially the seasonal variations. We were obsessed with the pumpkin mac and cheese, and most recently tried the lobster mac and cheese — possibly the best we’ve had in our lives. Rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Everything about this place — from the ingredients to the execution — feels intentional. It’s a local gem and a must-visit if you appreciate food that’s soulful and thoughtfully made. Thank you Chef! We are lucky to have you in our community ❤️❤️
Such a hidden gem! Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The scallops were perfectly seared, the roasted broccoli was packed with flavor, and the beet and carrot hummus was a colorful and tasty surprise. The cozy, artistic vibe inside made it even better. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place that truly delivers on both taste and atmosphere!
I loved this place, which is far from the main restaurant area in Bay Ridge and feels like a well-kept secret. I had dinner, but they do lunch too. This restaurant is completely unpretentious, with a relaxing atmosphere where you're just going to eat great food. The dinner menu isn't large, but one gets the sense that's because they know what they want to make. I had pasta with kale and sausage, a beet salad, and their namesake cake with homemade ice cream. I never review restaurants and am not serious about food, but immediately sensed I was going to write this, as thanks for the great experience. I'll be back.
had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The food was truly delicious, each bite an explosion of flavors that blew me away. Also, the attention to detail in the decor created a charming and cozy atmosphere that really complemented the dining experience. And the desserts, simply sublime! I can't stop thinking about those sweet and luscious flavors. I definitely look forward to going back and trying the rest of the menu. Highly recommended for those looking for an exceptional dining experience!
This place is an absolute gem! The borscht was the best I’ve ever had—deep, rich flavors that felt both comforting and elevated (I wonder if they added a bit of wine to it? Something about it was very special). The grass-fed NY strip with wine and mushroom sauce was heavenly, incredibly flavorful yet clean and light. (My woeful photography skills really don't do this steak any justice) I don't like dessert, but my husband convinced me to try the apple pie with cheddar ice cream and I was genuinely sad we had to share—it was that good! The best part? Despite eating so much, I left feeling amazing—not heavy or sluggish like I usually do after a restaurant meal. You can tell the owner puts real thought into sourcing high-quality, hearty and clean ingredients. Can’t wait to come back!
The Chef/owner is a wonderful man who cares about the ingredients in the dishes he prepares. Everything I have eaten has been delicious. .......some of the food is sourced from the Organic Regenerative Dutch Meadows Farm of Paradise, Pennsylvania, so you know you are eating the highest possible quality foods in the entire earth.
The owner and chef is such a nice and simple person. He is really passionate about cooking. The restaurant is good for couples or groups up to 12 people. The ingredients are all natural organic and healthy. The food is delicious. We had the Beats and Carrots Salad for the appetizer, burger with fries and Potato Gnocchi, Apple Pie for dessert. Everything was cooked quickly, even though the restaurant was full. We were very pleased with our dinner. I highly recommend the restaurant!
This is a very good and somewhat hidden restaurant in Bay Ridge. The menu is full of fresh vegetables and they're cooked and integrated into the dishes perfectly. I got the Wild Boar Pappardelle and it was amazing. I highly recommend the hummus and the toast apps (toast not pictured because we ate it so quickly). I think the restaurant is BYOB, I saw several groups bring in their own wine, but I didn't see anything about that on the site or Google maps. I recommend confirming ahead of your stay.
The food is amazing! The environment is so comfortable and cozy. There is only one waitress and she was phenomenal. The best part? She barely interrupted us unless it was to bring us our food. The portions are perfect in my opinion. It allows you to try different dishes. My husband and I were able to share a soup, black bread, and a veggie dish before our main came out. I ordered the Amish burger and I left with half a burger to take home. I was so full, I gave the fries to my hubs. The prices are fair, you are paying for farm to table food. Food that is fresh, not frozen, and actually has taste. The pavlova cake is amazing too! We will definitely be coming back.
We found the owners extremely friendly and welcoming. This is fine dining in an unexpected place. The Russian owner-chef is obsessed with the choice of his ingredients / they come from southwest Amish organic farms. The creations are seasonal and the menu changes based on what’s available. Definitely fine ingredients in a down to earth quiet and cozy environment.
I Came in for brunch and truly loved the food. My berry French toast was delicious and the seasonal menu and spring drink selection was spectacular. Highly recommend the blue matcha! Love the fresh farm to table feel of this place. The service is wonderful and you can tell the staff really cares about customer satisfaction. This place is a hidden gem! I’d give them ten stars if I could. Seriously, don’t walk, run to Beets and Carrots. Update: dinner is also heavenly!
The restaurant is located in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. They prepare American cuisine with an additional variety of options. The food is "farm-to-table" with breakfast and dinner menus. Customers can choose fruit, breads, eggs, omelets, pancakes and french toast for breakfast. Dinner choices include soups, salads, entrees with handmade pasta, local vegetables or pasture-raised meat and desserts. I ordered the Amish cheeseburger which included lettuce, tomato, pickle, bacon and french fries. The food was very good and well-prepared. The prices are above average.
I went here to eat with my mom and sister, the quality of food is amazing and everything tastes fresh. It did take quite a while for the food to arrive but I’m guessing it was because of the high quality. This place is quite expensive compared to others but the atmosphere is good and so is the food. They also don’t offer sodas so be wary if your not ok with that.
