My son moved to this neighborhood. When we visited last time we had a round pie. Excellent. He has had several more pies since. This visit we had the round and square. Both great. Square is a heavy, crispy pie. I was very impresses. Crust was well done with a great bite. Not too doughy. The round was a NY thin with a great crisp as well. Not much flop, which I like. J&V pizza is the #1 pizza spot for me. Whenever I come down to BK, I have to stop here. Yesterday was there with my bestie Mantha, we both had margarita slice. The sound of the bread cracking as you fold to eat is like heaven sent. The guys in front are so sweet and kind( thank you for making my experience a happy one walking in). The owners smile when he greets you lights up the place. You feel like home walkin in there, at least to me that’s what I feel. Thank you for your dedication of being so wonderful to your community. If anyone goes for first time please also try the chicken parm or the eggplant parm that comes in a sliced open calzone bread. It’s superb. Thanks again all of you for your hard work. Many of us really appreciate you. Wish I took photos of that margarita ( it’s was so appetizing all I wanted was to eat it lmao) but I will next time I visit.

My fave pizzeria in all of NYC remains L&B unfortunately a bit off beaten track for me even back in the days. But back in the days when I was living around this neighborhood, I wud get off 2 subway stops before my actual stop just to have 2 cheese slices here. The slices are so magical and just the perfect NYC street style pizza with lots of cheese and yummy tomato sauce. I live in Manhattan now where Joe's is supposely best but Joe's never give you this much cheese even though sauce is good there, too. And only if you're lucky, Joe's wud serve you hot pizza out of oven because their long line force them to serve you luke warm pizza just to keep the line moving. Maybe one of these days I'll make my way down to Brooklyn to savor yummy, delicious pizza once again.

No notes. I’m in NY for a week am planning on grabbing a slice every day I’m here. Sauce is always magical, great amount of cheese and a crunchy, but soft inside, dough bottom. Add a dash of garlic powder and some peppers and it’s a great addition to a late night walk. This slice may be the thing I miss most about my stay in Brooklyn. (The only slice I have is one I already took a bite out of because it smelled so good.)

This slice is underrated. It’s always piping hot, tons of cheese and the sauce! Its not your plain just tomatoes, there are spices and flavor. The bottom is nice and then the crust! It’s crunchy but doughy center. It’s a good filling slice. Hate that we moved out of the neighborhood. We get a pie and eat out of the back of the car.

This is the pizza shop of my wonderful Brooklyn childhood. I fondly remember grabbing a slice for $1.50 (yes I am very old) after a long subway ride. The pizza is super fresh, thin yet strong to hold summery tomato sauce and cheese, crispy crust and bottom, large enough to fold and just simply served on wax paper on a fluted paper plate. The staff is always friendly and love seeing Vito in the back rapidly massaging dough into flexible, relaxing rounds ready for a tomato swirl. My favorites include the regular cheese slice, margherita slice, and spinach roll with a side of marinara. My family loves the chicken jo jo. I can’t wait to try to eggplant jo jo. Pictured here are the whole pies. My cousin wanted a supreme with sausage, peppers and onions which was really good but I am definitely a purist. Love this pizzeria and don’t ever change!

I stopped by yesterday for the first time in many years. The last time I was here I was still in High School, which was many moons ago. I remember coming here after school with friends to get a slice and a soda. This pizza is exactly the way I remembered it as a young girl. The pizza is perfectly cooked and has a great crisp. The inside of the pizzeria is clean and has plenty of seating if you want to eat indoors. The staff is very friendly and service is fast. I will definitely come back, but next time I won't wait years to do so.

Man, I love that old-school Brooklyn vibe, feels like stepping back in time! It's always packed, but sadly, the service isn't what it used to be. Maybe the old chef's still there, but something's off; I hardly go anymore. Only decent Italian pizza left on 18th Ave, maybe even all of Brooklyn, is DaVinci's down the block.

Great old Italian style pizzeria reminiscent of 1970s and 80s Brooklyn. $20 for a great tasting round pie. Can't beat it.

The traditional Italian restaurant decorations and tables and chairs are still preserved here. Coming here feels like going back to the Italian pizza of the 1970s and 1980s. The restaurant food is also very delicious. Recommended

Came in here on a whim while shopping after passing another pizzeria that look like they had stale pizza. We ordered one buffalo slice, one chicken roll and an order of garlic knots along with one snapple. Under 20 dollars not bad considering NY prices. The food def hit. The dough has crunch and chew. The sauce has flavor. Will definitely be returning.

Overall taste and size of the pizza is good, however, I had to deduct a few points because the dough for my slice was still raw. Perhaps the owner can double check that the pizza is throughly cooked before serving it to customers.

However, my recent visit left me with mixed feelings due to inconsistencies in the quality of the stromboli. During my visit to Brooklyn to spend a few days with my parents, I instinctively made my way to my favorite spot for lunch. The first time, I encountered an elderly Italian man behind the counter who prepared a stromboli that was an absolute masterpiece. Loaded with a perfect blend of cheese, mushrooms, onions, and various meats, it was a heavenly delight for my taste buds. The experience was so exceptional that I eagerly decided to return the following day to relish it once again. To my disappointment, on my second visit, a different individual, a kind gentleman with dark skin, was handling the kitchen. Unfortunately, the stromboli I received did not meet the high standards I had come to expect. It consisted mostly of dough, onions, and cheese, with the meat noticeably absent. Furthermore, it was disappointingly soggy. It became apparent that there is an issue with consistency, depending on who is running the kitchen on any given day. This review comes from a place of genuine passion and fondness for your strombolis and this pizzeria. I am a fanatic for your culinary creations and wish to see your business flourish, enabling me to enjoy your wonderful offerings for years to come. The pizza is excellent. Always has been! That being said the customer service is mediocre at best. The guys behind the counter almost seem upset you’re placing an order. Aside from that, they NEVER have any air conditioning on. It’s super hot & stuffy and it makes you want to run out of there.

The slices are pretty good and you get a big slice. I would say the pizza itself does tend to be on a greasy side and can be a bit watered down.

The restaurant is located in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn. They prepare Italian cuisine. Several tables including counter seating are available for dining in but there are no servers. Pizza, strombolis, calzones, rolls, jojos and beverages are available. I ordered the grandma pizza, jojo and roll. The jojo is similar to a roll. The food was average in taste.

Once the best pizza on 18 Avenue and one of the best in the city is no more. Dry, hardly any oil. The sauce tastes like it just came out of the can.. The Tip jar is placed right in front of your face and as I watched some people not tip they were cursed at in Mexican. They really expect a tip for this ? They dont even give you hot pizza. Just ordered a Granma Pizza pie and topping was fresh but the crust tasted like it made 2weeks ago had a taste of old bread. And wasn’t even felt crust were heated properly. Just waist of money. We had to throw it out.

I’ve eaten from here before and it was fine, but today was all I needed. I order two chicken rolls for delivery, which came out to 13 dollars and I gave 15 with added tip. I gave the guy 50 bucks and had to get change. I was counting the money and by the time I counted the money, he was already out the door and gone. I was short 5 dollars. I called and the guy was yelling at me insisting that he gave me 2 10s and 3 5s. I was given 1 10 and 4 5s. Never getting from these thieves ever again. This is so sad considering it was the only place I trust near my house, and it sucks that a place with a good reputation would do this. Borderline is, don’t eat here if you like your money in your pocket.

Arrived at 10:28 and told they wouldn’t be open for another 30 mins. Walked around and came back at 11am and told again (rudely “lady I told you we weren’t open” ) and it would be at least another 30 mins to an hour. Why say you are open at 10:30 when you won’t really be open until 11:30 or noon. Now I understand why this place isn’t rated on one bite.

I grew up around the area and I gotta say the new staff that works there is kind of rude. There was a Mexican guy just cursing at random things and was too busy on his phone to even notice that I was ready to order. I said excuse me multiple time and he didn’t even look up. When he was finally done looking at his reel he took my order. The food also fell off. It used to be one of my favorite pizzerias too
