Opinions de Leo's Brooklyn
Absolutely amazing experience at Leo. 10/10 would recommend. The hospitality was outstanding and the food was even better. The wine was incredible. This is hands down, my favorite pie in NYC. You need to go here!
An institution at this point - Leo has held down this area with good food, convenient slices and other food to go and is always reliable. Been going here since before Covid and it’s always hit the spot.
Great spot..... nice atmosphere! Started with the focaccia and ricotta....we had the Hill pizza and it was great!! They have all kinds of pizza choices from the classic marinara and Margarita and then they have a clam pie, a San Giuseppe which is spicy sausage and tomatoes... They also offer a cocktail and beer menu wine and you can do brunch and dinner. Definitely recommend!!
Went on a Friday evening around 9 and was able to get a two top outside right away. The host and wait staff were beyond accommodating and friendly as we struggled to make up or minds about whether to sit in or outside. They let us sit to order vino and an app while we waited for an inside table to open up. The app and drinks arrived so quickly that we decided to stay put. Delicious orange wine, meatballs, pizza (soppressata on a margherita..delicious) and tiramisu…! Will definitely be going back.
I had an amazing experience in Leo’s private dining room for my 30th birthday. From the beginning, the staff were extremely flexible on menu, timing, space, and last minute changes to craft the right experience for me and my party. The space is perfectly intimate with an apartment feeling atmosphere. I felt right at home! Leo teed up staging for the evening with a cocktail hour, apps, and mains - it was paced perfectly with an amazing menu. Food and drinks were top notch. The bartender did a phenomenal job keeping up with a thirsty group of 25 guests for 4 hours. Would highly recommend for birthdays, engagement parties, and other special occasions!
One of the best pizza place i had the pleasure of visiting. we arrived just when they started serving pizza at the takeaway side (12.30pm) and ordered the peperoni pizza and potato pizza. both were fresh and piping hot. the base is what you would expect, excellent crust, has the perfect amount of topping. at 4 and 5 usd per slice. that is simply excellent value for money. save your self from the crappy 2 usd pizza and you won't regret it!
Love this place. First impression was amazing. Meatballs were super fresh and tender. The rigatoni was cooked to perfection the pieces of pork were sweet and savory. The margarita pizza was nothing short from great. Will be returning asap! Also can’t for get the mascarpone black cherry soft serve to top off the night, too good!
Leaving this review after coming here quite regularly for a year. Can say without a doubt that this is a neighborhood gem and I’m so happy to have it so close by. I’ve come for sitting down dinner date. For weekend bagels and coffee. For a quick slice at their shop. For a late night soft serve. And every time it just hits the spot. Their sourdough is incredible and that makes great pizza and bagels. Servers are always kind and the service in general is fast, even for packed weekends at the bagel shop. I recommend Leo to everyone visiting the neighborhood and I hope the business is good and they don’t have to close in the foreseeable future! Hugely recommend their Clam Pie (Yes! Try it!), the Caesar Salad to side any pizza, asking for their wine recommendations of the day, and always, ALWAYS get the soft serve for dessert.
Spacious and bright restaurant with lots of seating. The menu has a wonderfully curated wine selection and everything we ate was delicious. The sourdough pizza crust was fantastic, the caesar salad was ultra creamy, and the marinated olives were great. Their homemade soft serve ice cream changes regularly and the coconut blood orange version we had was so flavourful.
Go for the pizzas (try the clam!) and remarkable salads. Don’t miss their soft serve. This neighborhood anchor has a relaxed, community center vibe with consistently warm service. Their notable wine selection is exclusively natural. In addition to the restaurant, Leo has a separate to-go space with slices, freshly baked breads and pastries.
Always amazing pizza, can’t go wrong with any of the selected pies. Service is always spectacular. Meatballs are incredible to start with along with the caesar salad. Six slices to a pie and definitely splurge and get a few different ones. Always end up back here when in the area and has an excellent wine selection!!
Carb heaven. I love bread, esp. sourdough so if you do too, excellent place to get bagels, pizza, sandwiches and more. Bagels are great if you ever need to bring anything to a brunch or have throughout the week. They have a sit down area with service with other things on the menu like whole pizzas, pasta and these tasty butter beans … or a slice shop next door if you want something more quickly.
Probably some of the best pizza I’ve had in New York, served in a lovely and warm atmosphere. Music not too loud so a great place to have a conversation. Make sure to reserve on the weekends because the wait can be over an hour; I opted for a window seat to get seated immediately. Started my meal with a negroni & ordered the san giuseppe pizza which was delicious, maybe slightly too salty for my liking but the crust was very light and nicely done. Ordered tiramisu for dessert which was scrumptiously rich but maybe a bit too heavy and would have paired nicely with one of their coffees. Could definitely see myself coming back to enjoy a cocktail & the ambience with a good book.
The NY pizza is the best pizza I've tried in my 10 years living in the city. I would give 5 stars, but can't due to my experience tonight. If a customer asks you to box up their pizza - pack up ALL the pizza on the tray! I just got back from dinner and wanted to eat the half slice I purposefully left, but the server didn't pack it! It was an entire half, not just a piece of crust. Really bizarre move to throw away food that's barely been consumed, especially when the customer is asking for it to go. Super infuriating to waste food like that for no reason at all.
Delicious food, wonderful music always playing out of the speakers. I came in, leading with this compliment. And yet the bartender was inattentive and behaved as if she hated me. Her behavior didn’t improve when my friend arrived. It wasn’t a particularly busy day. We had to ask for things several times. Nothing we did could have justified her treatment of us. What a disappointment. I now know not to spend my money here.
The food and wine here are amazing. The chopped salad is the best I’ve ever had. Unfortunately, the people who work here are so consistently unpleasant that it overshadows everything the kitchen does right. The service is curt, unwelcoming, and honestly hostile. I always overlook it because the food is that good, but today was the last straw. The restaurant was empty, per usual. We asked for a table for eight. The hostess told us we needed a pre fixe menu (for a pizza restaurant………..no). We offered to split into two tables of four, but she refused, saying it was still considered a party of eight. There literally were two seated tables in the dining room. It’s baffling that a restaurant with such incredible food would allow this kind of arrogance and incompetence to drive people away. The kitchen deserves better. Sad to say I’m never going back.
We ordered the marinara pizza with anchovies and the steak with au piovre sauce on the side. Unfortunately, the pizza was quite disappointing. The crust was dry and tasteless, and the red sauce was so sweet that I couldn't even taste the anchovies. The steak was okay, but still looked so sad. The fries tasted and looked like typical frozen fast food fries, which are fine but not what you'd hope for in a place like this. The ambiance could use some attention as well. If you're seating people outside, it's important to consider the lighting from the kitchen. It felt more like seating in front of hospital than a restaurant, which really affected the vibe. While the location is great, there are much nicer spots in the area that offer a better overall experience and food. This place needs some love.
