Staff is very professional and nice. Food is also very good. I got iced coffee which was fresh as well. I also ordered a cheese danish and chocolate croissant. Enough to say that taking a bite you will immediately feel the effort that this place puts on its foods. Hope they are here for a long time.
Of the many cafes I've been to, this one is, by far, the best. Listen to all of the reviews mentioning the croissants because they are absolutely fantastic! I chose an almond croissant, a strawberry danish, and a blueberry cheesecake (I'm not sure what it's called). If you don't want to feel overwhelmed by sugar, you should definitely try the sweets here! I believe the coffee is a darker roast, but it has some strong notes of chocolate. While the food/drink was amazing, the service sealed the deal. The staff were friendly and very polite. The prices were very reasonable, and the atmosphere was quiet and cozy!
I recently visited Maison de viennoiserie in Bay ridge, and I must say I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff is incredibly friendly, always ready with a smile and ready to help you find the perfect coffee and cake. Their coffee is exceptional – rich, smooth, and full of flavor, with a perfect balance of strength and sweetness. I highly recommend their caramel latte and espresso , which has quickly become my go-to. They also offer a variety of pastries, and the napoleon is a delightful treat to pair with your coffee. The ambiance is cozy, with comfortable seating, great music, and a relaxed vibe that makes it the perfect spot to catch up with friends or enjoy a quiet moment alone. The Wi-Fi is fast, so it’s also a great place for working remotely. If you're looking for a place that combines amazing coffee, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere, Maison de viennoiserie in Bay ridge is the place to be! I'll definitely be coming back for more. Highly recommended!
I am a loyal customer to this Algerian bakery shop. I stop by to buy croissants and pain au chocolat for breakfast. I come here to have a coffee and chat with friends. I also come when I have a sweet tooth for some dessert. I love that the size of the dessert is just enough to satisfy my cravings without being supersized American style. I find that the croissants are the best in the area and certainly closest to authentic French. I have never experienced hostility or unfriendliness from the men who often come here to socialize in large groups even though I am a young female who comes by myself. I may have noticed some glances when I walk in as I am not Algerian, so maybe they happened to notice it. It hasn't bothered me. The staff are also quite friendly to me and always make a nice coffee. Since this place opened I rarely go anywhere else for coffee or pastries. To me it is a gem in the neighborhood.
This bakery makes some of the best French pastries around! Pain au Raisin is a favorite pastry of mine! Everything is so fresh and handmade each day! You won’t be disappointed! Bon appétit!
I recently visited this bakery and was blown away by the quality of their coffee and pastries. We ordered two hot lattes and a chocolate croissant, and everything was exceptional. The pastries are homemade and fresh—the chocolate croissant was one of the best I’ve ever had: not too sweet or dense, and it paired perfectly with the coffee. The staff was incredibly kind. Even though we went during a busy morning and only one person was working, the service was fast. Best of all, the prices were super reasonable—much more affordable than most spots in Brooklyn, where a coffee and pastry can cost a fortune.
This café provides a delightful experience, combining excellent coffee and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is both delicious and well-presented. The overall ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a beverage or meal.
We recently stopped by Maison De Viennoiserie, an Algerian-style coffee shop that brings together the best of North African hospitality with a French pastry tradition. The café serves lattes, coffees, soft drinks, and a lovely assortment of Algerian cookies and specialties. The highlight is undoubtedly their French pastries and viennoiseries. The showcase was filled with beautifully presented treats, from tarts and éclairs in several flavors—chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and more—to the classic mille-feuille, here called “Napoleon.” Everything looked fresh and inviting. We ordered a coffee and a latte, both excellent and clearly made with quality beans. My wife tried the coffee éclair: while not the very best we’ve ever had (we’re admittedly picky), it was still fresh, tasty, and enjoyable. During our visit, we overheard someone ordering a sandwich, possibly tacos or another light option, which the staff seemed to prepare in the back. It’s nice to know they also offer savory items beyond pastries. The atmosphere felt warm and authentic, and the service was excellent—professional, attentive, and welcoming. We’re happy to add this new Algerian spot to our list of go-to places in Brooklyn and look forward to returning to explore more of their menu.
I’ve been coming here every weekend to try a different type of dessert from this place. Everyone I tried has a unique taste, and they all taste delicious. The macaroons taste like they should. I felt like I was back in France with every bite. They make fresh croissants and some with chocolate inside. The Coffee is really good and they offer indoor and outdoor seating. When the weather is nice, they open up the doors and when you’re sitting outside, you get that fresh smell of baked goods.
Highly recommend this establishment in Bay Ridge! I had a raspberry tart with some Moroccan mint tea and enjoyed every bite. My friend had some Moroccan pancakes and it looks like he was fully satisfied as well. Atmosphere was nice. Owner came out to say hello. My friend and I to Fort Hamilton high school 20 years ago and used to lived in bay ridge so it’s good to revisit my old stomping grounds and find places like this for a small catch-up reunion.
For pastry Halal lovers, this place is a hidden gem in Bay Ridge! From classic favorites to innovative creations, there's something for everyone. Highly recommend their seasonal specials!"
I love this place. It is a great place to chill and enjoy a cup of coffee. All the workers are nice and friendly, especially Jasmine. She always got my coffee ☕️right exactly how I like it, she is nice and so sweet, and one of the reasons that I am a regular customer here. I will definitely come back !
Stopped here last night, what a great dessert spot. Loved the different pastries, the staff were very passionate about their creations and helped me pick the best ones for me. The black forest was really good, the blackberry one was nice too. Would definitely come here to try some other varieties.
Just an absolute perfection!!! The Varieties of pastries, the taste , and the service. If you haven’t tried this place yet YOU ARE MISSING A A LOT…Now go get something ASAP and thank me later… ;) I would thank the owner and team very much for the amazing stuff they offer.
The mixed berry lemonade that they have is the perfect refreshing drink on a summer day. I must say that they have an interesting way of making their drinks iced. The glass display case they have in the front which shows their pre-made drinks are not refrigerated but are in fact warm. If you would like it iced, they would pour some of your drink out in order to put the ice in there. I noticed there was a refrigerator behind the counter with other drinks and ice stored inside so I’m not sure why they can’t store some of their pre-made drinks in there. Maybe majority of their customers prefer their drinks warm and not cold? As for food, their pain au chocolat is so delicious and flaky with just the perfect amount of chocolate inside. I’ve been on the search for a good pain au chocolat in South Brooklyn and am so happy I finally found a place here. I also got this chocolate cake which tasted amazing. There seems to be a thin layer of cake in it which I personally think would taste nicer if they replaced that with something crispy for the texture. Overall, the ambiance was great with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff workers here are friendly and quite knowledgeable of the food and drinks. Great service!
Best latte in NYC Come enjoy the best coffee and pastries
Had to have a few bites to confirm it was good. Definitely would come back again. Customer service was great.
Been visiting this newly opened cozy bakery shop for few times and it never disappointed. Every piece of bakery looks good at this place. Seats are comfortable. Staffs are nice. One of best bakery cafe in the area. Everything seems worth the money at this place. Another MUST-VISIT besides the other well-known bakery shops in the nearby area.

Another great addition for bayridge, I love the coffee they have , great style and fabulous pastries.... they owner told me they make everything fresh daily .
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Maison de Viennoiseries at 8101 5th Avenue in Brooklyn, and it’s safe to say this place is a pastry lover's dream! The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the delightful scent of fresh-baked goods, and it only gets better from there. Their selection of pastries is absolutely top-notch. The croissants are a standout—perfectly flaky, buttery, and golden brown, just as they should be. The pain au chocolat is equally impressive, with just the right amount of rich, melty chocolate that complements the light, airy pastry. What I love most about this place is the authenticity. The quality and care put into each pastry are clear in every bite. Whether you're enjoying your pastries with a cup of coffee or taking them to go, you can tell you're getting the real deal. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, making it easy to ask for recommendations or get a little insight into the ingredients and process behind each treat. It’s a cozy spot that offers a little slice of France right here in Brooklyn. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by Maison de Viennoiseries—you won’t be disappointed!
Best Cappuccino! Great stop in the neighborhood, especially when in between errands. Great atmosphere, staff very professional and quick service. Prices are reasonable. Their cappuccino was perfect, not burned, very smooth and you can tell they use quality coffee. Very happy to have found this place!

I love this place i come alot for coffee and cheesecake. I also love the croissants. But sometime it can be a bit overwhelming if you’re a woman. The customer base is mostly Arab/berber men from Algeria. They love to stare at women who come in. I might be american but im married to algerian so i understand what they are saying about me🤣. Other than that this is my favorite coffee spot and will continue to come
The French bakery/cafe is located in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. They sell various cakes, éclairs and croissants. The cakes can be ordered by the slice. They prepare burgers and crepes. Drinks include coffee and tea. Various tables are available for dining. Helpful and quick service.
An elegant new addition to 5th Ave in Bay Ridge, Maison De Viennoiserie sells a visually tantalizing array of breakfast pastries and confectionaries. I've been here three times and received prompt, attentive service with a genuine smile on all occassions. Totally recommend their freshly baked croissants.

You will appreciate this place if you have no standard for pastries. Once you walk in to the establishment you will realize from the ambiance and decor that this not an authentic French pastry cafe. I was not expecting the pastries to taste French…just not worst than Costco desserts.
I came in to buy 2 hazelnut ice lattes and the young lady who was working this shift messed up my order and when I asked her to correct it she got very defensive, argued with me and insisted that I to pay for her making me the right coffee that I ordered AGAIN. After a long unnecessary argument, she made another 2 coffees that I requested which also didn’t taste good. I used to love coming here but after this experience I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone
We tried Maison De Viennoiserie for the first time as we wanted some pastries for dessert on a Friday evening nearby. We purchased the mixed fruit tart and layered lemon layered cake as recommended by a regular customer who ordered before us. To be honest appearance wise in the glass cases most of the pasties appeared somewhat amateurish in preparation and appearance compared to other decent pastry shops which gave an initial impression but we still wanted to give this local spot a try. Taste and texture wise I wouldn't say it is worth the price. The tart crust was dry and solid with no flavor, the fruit was ok but the strawberry had a odd off taste. The slice of lemon layered cake was average at best. I can't say I would return here. But funny enough 2 days later while in Bensonhurst we discovered L'Algeroise French Pastrie and walking in the small store all the pastries and cakes looked inviting, fresh yet we noticed the boxes looked very familar. We then asked the woman behind the counter if they had another store and she confirmed they did - including 81 St and 5th Ave in Bay Ridge so we were surprised of the visual differences of products between the 2 locations! Taste, texture, and visually wise the owner's second original location on Bath Avenue is so much better - levels better!
I had a really unpleasant experience at Maison De Viennoiserie. The service was mediocre, and the guy who served me was unprofessional and rude. On top of that, the atmosphere was uncomfortable—people were staring at me like they had never seen a woman before, which made me feel unwelcome. To make things worse, there were people openly cursing and using really bad language, which was just so impolite. As for the pastries? Stale, old, and definitely not worth the ridiculous prices. Overall, it was an awful visit, and I won’t be going back.
Last night I was disappointed about this French cafe 🤦♀️ first I decided to get tarts I ordered the coconut and lemon tart OMG they were discussing sorry for speaking like that I am French we took pastry very serious this one last night was far too close to called French pastry the coconut tart was dry and the base was a rock second the lemon tart was sour the base again solid rock what was that I couldn't believe it I feel very disrespected by this so called French pastry chef for servings this in the neighborhood and I saw peoples rating 4.7 it's clearly there's no French lives around here but this place only deserve 1.01 start from me because I am French and I know what a good pastry is.
Too bad, I purchased algerian olive oil and as usual they over charged. They even charged for service fee. As i was in Harry and double parked. I didn't realize until i get home. NOW should I drive back to get my 10 dollars back, that how much gaz would spond. This was not the first time and it happened to my friends as well. Shame on you.
So disappointed that this establishment is in bay ridge. It doesn’t deserve to even be associated with our neighborhood. Bay ridge has some of the best restaurants and bakery’s in the city and this is definitely not up to par. Not only is this not an authentic French bakery, they sell old stale pastries on top. I asked to return a tart after taking one bite and the barista was very defensive and got a rude stanky attitude on top. The eclairs were hard as well and had a weird old food/ fridge taste for $20 for two pastries and a small drink I would have expected better attitude. Not to mention the men in the establishment made me and my friend feel very uncomfortable. They stare and look you up and down both inside and outside the bakery. What’s up with that? If you’re a woman definitely steer clear of that side of the street. I’ve never felt this way about any restaurant in Bay ridge but this was truly a disaster. Safe to say I’m never coming back.
I’ve been a regular customer but I had a disappointing experience with one employee multiple times. She charged me extra for my coffee multiple times, and when I brought it up, she started yelling and denied her mistake in a very disrespectful manner. I hope this issue is addressed, as customer service should be handled more professionally.
I went there with my friends and our kids. As we order we’ve been told that we have to order more (every one of gets a drink and a dessert)apparently we cannot sit there if we don’t order more. So we’re forced to buy things we don’t want. It was a weird and unpleasant experience.
I visited this patisserie hoping for a pleasant experience as I wanted to get some millefeuille for my young children. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. Initially, the interaction was normal, but when I requested the millefeuille be split for my kids to manage it easily, the staff member’s demeanor changed drastically. She became quite abrupt and made me feel very uncomfortable, almost as if I was bothering her by making a simple request. This experience sadly overshadowed the quality of the pastries. I believe in constructive feedback, so I hope this is taken as an opportunity to improve customer service in the future. Therefore, I’m giving a one-star rating based on this visit.
It’s not my first time coming here, but it’s definitely going to be the last. The wait time was excessive and completely unexplained, we waited for over an hour for just two sandwiches. After all that time, they even gave us the wrong order. To make things worse, someone who came after us was served before us, and when we complained, the cashier had no explanation. Totally disrespectful.
I have been to this place many times but yesterday 03/5/2026, I ordered 3 napoleons and asked the cashier (Zineddine) is this fresh, he was like yes yes just came now. Liar. Today my son and I are feeling nauseous all day with bad feeling of vomiting. the taste was awful. Last time, I asked Barista to pick for me those cakes and he was "are we selling tomato here. they are all the same". Unfortunately, bad costumer service. The guy (Zineddine) was very defensive and rude and has bad attitude. please do not sell old pastry to customers.
I don’t like to complain But the lady was in the front has zero manner of a service. She’s very mean and rude When we ordered the pastry that had a strong egg icky I came back to her and asking her that it was really strong taste of icky eggs that we couldn’t handle the taste of it. She was trying just to explain to me. It was freshly made, and that wasn’t the point she didn’t give me A chance to talk And she didn’t even help me with neither a refund or even switch them. I’ll never come back to this nasty place.
I have been there the very first time when it was soft opening. I have bought 3 eclairs and espresso. Coffee was ok. Eclairs were still. Yesterday after reading raving reviews abt croissants I went there to indulge myself with croissant and since its been a while since the place is open I tried to get an eclairs again. (Spoiler- never again). Croissants by the way is 5.75 and eclair is 5$. I got it to go. Whn I got home the box with eclair was all wet and the bag with croissant was completely soaked. And I know that croissants are made with butter. It already made me suspicious. At home I took a bite as long as some pics. I was completely dissatisfied. Mooshi croissant it is not what you expected. The eclair was not fresh. And I asked specifically if it was fresh. I do not recommend this place at all. If you have taste buds save your money that you are earning. Do not buy in order not to be disappointed.

The presentation of this pastry is disappointing. The broken and cracked icing makes it look unappealing and embarrassing to offer to someone. It’s unacceptable to sell damaged pieces. When purchasing baked goods, customers should check that all pieces are in good condition before buying. The staff should ensure better quality control and remove any broken pieces before selling them to maintain a high standard.
I’d like to share what happened to me today. I’ve been going to the French bakery on the corner of 81st and 5th Avenue for a long time, and for the past three mornings I’ve been stopping by on my way to work to get my coffee to go. On the first morning, there was a woman working. Since I didn’t know exactly how an iced latte was made, I asked if she could make it with 2 espresso shots. With a sarcastic smile on her face, she told me it already comes with 2 shots. I laughed, thanked her, and stayed polite the whole time, though her attitude was unpleasant. I didn’t dwell on it. I even felt like I had to be extra polite to her just so she wouldn’t keep treating me rudely. I am always very respectful toward staff wherever I go—even when I eat at a restaurant, I gather my own dishes and bring them to one spot. That’s why I feel I really did not deserve this kind of behavior. The next two mornings, the male staff member I already knew was there. He was very kind, even asked me about my son, and I paid between $6–$8 as usual before leaving. This morning, however, the same woman was there again. When I ordered an iced coffee with 4 espresso shots, she gave me the same condescending look as if I was saying something nonsensical. She made my coffee and told me it was $13. I paid right away (before even bringing up the issue, so she would understand it wasn’t about the money), then mentioned that on previous mornings I had paid between $6–$8 for the same thing. She was extremely rude in response, saying a new staff member told me that price. But she’s not new—I told her she even knows my child’s name and I’ve been coming here for 3 years. She then called the manager, crossed her arms, and gave me a mocking laugh. At that point I got upset and asked her why she was laughing, and we ended up arguing. I have no problem with the bakery itself, but it makes no sense for your team to keep someone who consistently treats customers badly for no reason.
