Cinco De Mayo is praised for its warm chips and salsa, delicious food, and excellent service, especially from staff like Diego and Lisste. The buffet and enchiladas are popular, but some find the food bland or overpriced. Some report inconsistent service and flavor.

Tip: The lunch buffet is a good deal for $11 if you're on a budget, but the quality can be inconsistent. The enchiladas are a popular choice.

The Place looks clean. The food was Delicious and warm. The servers were excellent. Very happy Customer.😊
Wow,, I was amazed those warm chips and salsa are so good. And the food is so tasty I totally recommend this place. It was my hubby and I first time and for sure will be back.
Excellent salsa and chips. Plenty of flavor with a bit of heat. Bistec ranchera was nicely flavored , served with a tasteful serving of Mexican rice and beans. We'll be back , before we head back to the Pacific Northwest.
Very delicious and authentic Mexican food we love the buffet great prices

Very appetizing menu. Diego, our waiter, very professional and amicable. Everything was excellent. From the atmosphere to the food.
While talking to my coworkers, I dubbed the term "Chips and Salsa Red Plate, Green Plate" restaurant. As far as these types of restaurants go, the value for the food is phenomenal, cheaper then what you would find in Houston. The portions were plentiful and there was a type of spicy tang to the food that is strangely missing in other red plate, green plate restaurants that are in Houston. To put it in perspective, we were at another red plate, green plate restaurant in Louisiana prior to this and the chips and salsa felt like a faint ghost of what these were were. I'm still not sure how local flavor managed to transfer over, but transfer over it does and I feel like we are all the better for it.

While I was eating at this place and wondering how I would rate it, the only thing I kept remembering was my brother's recommendation when he told me "BRO! It's like the owners built a time machine and traveled back in time and told the cooks at Antonio's on Strawberry Square (you know back when it was good) to get in!!" If you're old enough and a Brownsville native, you will get it! The food was really good and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the mood for fajitas! The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars was because their fajitas still had silverskin (which is uneatable and should have been removed before cooking) on the meat! But regardless I will happily go back the next time we are in Brown Town to try the ribs and chicken!
Have nice specials for the drinks. Excellent margaritas. Food was delicious
Arrived at 11am, tostadas had just been made, so they were warm and deliciously fresh. Salsa is VERY mild. Flautas were good & Mom enjoyed her tacos. They have a lunch buffet which looked very good and seems very popular($11.25 per person and includes corn tortillas). Music by the keyboard pianist was pleasant.
i loved that they were able to get a table together for a big group we had. but once we were there, the waiters were not very helpful. we were not getting all our drinks refilled and the order came out late, several of us did not get tortillas. apart from those setbacks, the food was good. one of our guys got the buffet and loved it. we ordered several different plates and all were good.
Food was very good. I just did not like their iced tea. One of the plates is a parrillada/botana platter and the other is Violets plate. would absolutely come back.

The only thing I liked was the refried beans, panchos, and rice. I ordered the fajita plate and this is what I received. When I bit in to a piece of the chicken, it had a weird texture while I was chewing. The charro beans tasted like if they were straight out of a can. I only ate the rice. Not going there again. This is just my opinion.
The food was ok. Although the food was fresh, in my humble opinion, it lacked flavor. I also think it was over priced for the normal, everyday Mexican style selections. I could list several restaurants that add a little more creativity to their plates and charge the same. We were served tostadas (chips) and salsa right away. The tostadas were extra crispy but I felt were a little too greasy and tasted as if they were cooked in old oil (almost rancid). The salsa was not impressive. It is an American style Salsa. I expected some spicy salsa options from a restaurant with "Cinco de Mayo". They did not have salsa verde, salsa roja, salsa macha or any other true Mexican Salsa. Cold American Salsa is what they have..🥴 There was only one waiter on shift (that we could see). He was polite but was hastily taking our drink and food orders. I hadn't even finished asking for my half sweet and half unsweet tea before he started walking away. There were about 6 other tables being serviced. Although this didn't impact the waiters good attitude, he forgot to bring us napkins after we asked for them and we had to look for him for drink refills. It was good food and service but there's other more delightful food options for this range of price.
I went in with my family for Wednesday's dinner buffet and thought the carne guisada was delicious. As for the rice and beans, they were mediocre/ bland, and the crispy taco was good, but the enchiladas were dry from the inside. The enchilada tortilla was a bit hard and dryish, barely had any cheese inside the enchilada if it even had any; I was very disappointed since the enchiladas were the main reason I went there.
If you are low on cash and want to eat for $11. I recommend the lunch buffet. Its not wow, but you can't find this deal anywhere. Cheese enchiladas are ok, they got beans and rice also a about 3 other options on the bar like oven bake chicken, guisado, and you might catch some mole depending on day. For sure they got some crunchy beef tacos that are way better than Taco Bell. You can't ask more for $11, drink not included.
They have a good selection on the menu and a buffet which is served for you, I tried the buffet, and they didn't have all items available. The food was good but not great from the buffet but the plate my wife got was terrible, the chicken nor the breading had any season and half way thru the chicken had a wierd taste so we let the waitress know and she told us it was the breading that most likely had that taste. The Prices are a little high for the quality and the place was hot, staff and others were fanning themselves because it was hot inside. The waitress was attentive but most likely not returning as I was not impressed.

Went for the buffet and was torn in half about it...I say give the camera person an award...it was a very small buffet again a. Emmy for best videography..food pretty good the refried beans had a little smell in them but good still...didn't try the menu cause mind was on the video of the food displayed...again the food was good im not taking anything away from that but everything is separate price and not even a taste of dessert like most buffets have..

The waitress was very attentive and did offer to get me another plate but I was already disgusted with the taste of the meat looking raw and tasting raw and old. She stated it was the seasonings that were used to prepare the meat. I ordered the chile relleno. This was the first and last time I step foot in there. My husband ordered buffet and wasn’t too impressed with the taste of food either.
The food here is extremely lacking in flavor and quality. It’s almost tasteless and to make matters worse, I was charged $3 extra for a tortilla to eat my Barbacoa. Taco Bell‘s right around the corner. Save your money. I do not recommend!

We ordered fajita asada and the meat was spoiled. The manager said it was the seasoning they use which was a lie. The meat had a grey color and smelled bad. The oil they use to fry the chips and taco shells tasted burned which ruined the flavor. We left sick to our stomachs and definitely will not return. The restaurant was empty and now I know why!
My wife and I get, there and they seat us pretty quickly. They bring out salsa and chips then when we are ready to order our waiter takes care of the table of 4 next to us that came in after us. Then he takes our order and then had to come back and ask what my order was. So my wife gets her food but I don’t get mine. After 12/15 minutes I cancelled my food , asked why my food didn’t come out and our waiter and the manager couldn’t say why. Even though they didn’t charge for my wife’s food we still won’t go back. I gave the food a 1 star because my wife said it wasn’t that good. Service was horrible and atmosphere was ok.
