The is an old school,home style Italian restaurant. Complete with red checker tablecloths and family and celebrity pictures on the wall.Famous for their spaghetti parm that they created. It doesn't disappoint. Reservations are recommended. Severs and staff were attentive and knowledgeable.
This restaurant is high on my list of favorites. The spaghetti parm is my favorite pasta I've ever had at a restaurant. The sauce and cheese taste very good, especially together. Everything tastes extremely fresh and made well. The mozzarella sticks are very good as well. The food came out very hot and the wait wasn't very long. Our waitress Rachel was attentive, kind, and all-around amazing. I would definitely recommend coming here!
Chefs is a Buffalo staple for Italian. The spaghetti Parm is their signature dish and I highly recommend. Chefs is consistent with their food and service, the prices are fair and portions large. There's a reason why they are a staple and have remained; consistent delicious food and fantastic service. If you're downtown for a hockey game, concert, or lacrosse it's a fantastic lunch or dinner option.
A Buffalo icon. Is it the best spaghetti and meatballs you'll ever have? No. But it's pretty good, quality of food is good. Super fresh salad. Spaghetti served piping hot. House made bread is good. Unmatched ambiance. Totally cool place. Plenty of parking.
Place is excellent. We had a large group. They do a home made sauce that you can buy to take home. Veal was amazing. Tons of parking is right across the street. Will definitely be back.
Fantastic old school Italian restaurant. Great service, large portions and the iconic Chef's brand. When we are in the Buffalo area we always stop at Chefs for dinner. When we are not in Buffalo we have friends that send us a case of chefs marinara sauce because it's that good. A meal at chefs is like eating at my grandparents house when I was a kid !
Are you a fan of Spaghetti and cheese? Well then you owe it to yourself to check this legendary buffalo establishment out! Amazing Spaghetti/Chicken Parms just bring your appetite (and put on your bib! 😜) because even the "extra small" is enough to fill you up and the large portions are *huge*... and all absolutely loaded with cheese 😊 Make sure to try the made-in-house fresh bread as well. It's to die for. The restaurant is also just oozing character. The inside is like a giant history book with photos of all the famous guests over their now 100+ year history. Very cool. Loved absolutely everything and will definitely be back for more!
I can't believe I've never tried this place before. The meal was amazing. Their special is the spaghetti parm and it hit the spot. It was huge and the flavor was great. I was ordering the chicken parm and I was thinking it's just an upsell, but let me tell you: do it! I actually haven't had a meal this good in awhile. I can't wait to go back. I went at a good time after work but it filled in quick and there was a long line when I was leaving. Definitely make reservations.
Chef’s is a true Buffalo gem for authentic Italian comfort food. From the moment we walked in, it felt like stepping back in time—in the best way. The atmosphere is rich with history, and the food absolutely delivers. We started with the stuffed peppers, which were spicy, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick things off. For our mains, we had both the chicken parm and the eggplant parm—each one was generously portioned and packed with flavor. I tried the “double parm” with both chicken and spaghetti smothered in sauce and cheese. It was delicious, though next time I’d skip the parm on the pasta just for easier eating. Still, no complaints! The house red wine was smooth and paired beautifully with the meal. And dessert? The cannoli was spot-on—crispy shell, creamy filling, just sweet enough. Jayme, our server, was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and even packed up our leftovers with care. Portions are hearty, so next time we’ll likely split a dinner if we’re ordering apps again. If you’re looking for a place that serves up generous portions of classic Italian fare with a side of Buffalo nostalgia, Chef’s is it. We’ll definitely be back!.
Excited to find this cozy friendly restaurant with gluten free (Celiac approved) lunches! I totally enjoyed the Spaghetti 🍝 Parm with meatball, gluten free rolls, side salad & sherbet. Tasty and Large Portions- good value for the $$. Popular spot, they offer reservations. And even have frozen take out in a cooler available.
We stopped in because we saw the lunch special and good reviews. The food was decent, nothing mind blowing, but alright food and good portions. The service was really our favorite part Deneen was lovely and was very attentive. For the price I would say its a great value. Don't expect out of this world food quality, but if you are looking for a cute place with good service and history this place is totally worth the stop!
The food is delicious and large portions. It is understandable why this place is so popular/has such a cult following. The spaghetti parm here is amazing. I got a small portion and it was still huge. You can ask for plain sauce if you are vegetarian. I thought the fact their napkins can be worn as bibs was hilarious but it's also practical. The walls are covered with pictures of famous guests and it really adds to the unique atmosphere. You can also buy their sauce, gift sets, and napkin/bibs here.

For most non Italian cooks this place is great.. however, I do all my own Italian food. I was at a company sponsored event and decided to get something I do not make at home very often. I had the linguine with clam sauce. It was really delicious. For the people who are expecting a white creamy type clam sauce, this is not it. This had an olive oil sauce ( fresh lemon avail to enhance flavor ). I got the large size plate, knowing I can enjoy it again the next day - and I did ! It almost tasted better ! The bread they serve for dinner guests was less than stellar. I guess I was expecting a more “Italian style “ but tasted more like a cheap loaf of bread- I did add the pesto for a more enhanced taste. The dessert I chose was the most disappointing though, only because I expected the traditional cannoli- not sure what ingredients was in this one, but I hated it. My co worker gave me a taste of his cassata cake and I almost fell outta my seat with flavor - it was fantastic! Remember, it has an anise flavor and I love anise… My coworkers all got the spaghetti parm - they loved it … the parking is good when you go early- we had a 4:30pm reservation so parking was good- however by the time we left ( approximately 6pm ) this place was packed with a waiting line.. I love places with history and this place being over 100 years old has tons of it. All the walls are flooded with celebrity photos so it’s great to see how many people throughout its lifetime have visited. Service was good and we didn’t have to wait much for a table. As for the food, we were very disappointed, it is just not good Italian food, barely so so, I wouldn’t go back for the food but visiting the restaurant is an experience.

Atmosphere and service are always great. The reason for the low rating for food is because a few years ago they started using soybean oil in their sauce. No self-respecting "authentic" Italian restaurant would use anything other than olive oil in their cooking.
