Opinions de China Taste Buffalo
It's really, really, really delicious! As an Asian, I can say this is the most authentic northeastern Chinese cuisine! I highly recommend it with 100 points!!!!!!!
Best Chinese food in all of buffalo. The people are too nice to me I'm trying to learn Chinese and the workers always say my chinese is so fantastic even though I don't think that's true. They always encourage me to keep learning more. The food is just spectacular I hope you guys get all the business in the world
China Taste is one of our favorite places to go in Amherst. There are two dishes that we get consistently. The first is their stir fried cabbage in chili oil. The cabbage has great umami flavor while maintaining its crispiness. The second dish we almost always get is their mapo tofu. We order it extra hot because that's how we like it but be mindful that it is really spicy. The tofu has great texture and the flavor is well balanced. The blend of fermented black beans and chili paste is wonderful and the spiciness comes more from the chilis than the Sichuan peppercorns. If you're looking more for an authentic experience, this is absolutely the place to go. Service is always friendly and welcoming too.
This is one of the two best and most authentic, which to me means the same thing, Chinese restaurants in Buffalo. I don't know how they do with American Chinese food, but the Chinese Chinese food is like being in China, only better, because it is usually easier to get consistently high quality meat and produce in the United States than it is in China. Many dishes that you will not see at most Chinese restaurants, like two dishes with frog and three eggplant dishes. Surprisingly reasonable prices, also.
Eat in person rather than takeout! The portions r significantly larger and your noodles won’t soak up all the soup! So good! And pretty affordable. Authentic as well! Nice and small quite comfortable. The staff IS SOOO KIND!! I always get the malatang noodle soup when I come and it comes out on a flame to make sure it stays hot while eating. I used to always get beef brisket noodles before discovering malatang though! Definitely very large portions. Shared between two people and still took home leftovers!
Hands down the best Chinese food in Buffalo! The portions are generous and the seasoning is incredibly authentic. It’s hard to find real Chinese food in the U.S., but this is the real deal. Awesome variety and super friendly service. We’re taking some dishes home and will enjoy it all weekend!
I’ve eaten at some of the best NYC Chinese restaurants First Wok, Hunan Balcony, and others. This is BETTER than anything I’ve had in NYC. So happy to have found it since I moved to the Tonawandas recently. No place in the area comes even close. The one star reviews have no clue what they’re talking about. Service was great, the ppl super nice. Had the sesame chicken, chicken with broccoli, and veggie fried rice. 10/10! Highly recommended.
Most authentic northern Chinese food in buffalo I've found so far. Prices are very reasonable and service is fast. The chicken wings are awesome! They're not buffalo style but are very crispy and tender. I also highly recommend the "pork with preserved vegetable". It's not a standard dish you would be able to find at another restaurant, and the pork just melts in your mouth. Get a side of rice to soak up the amazing sauce that comes with it!
(If you think my review is helpful to you and the others, please press the like button. Thank you!) This restuarant tasted really authentic compared to other restaurants near the UB. Fried chicken is crispy and felt like they use fresh oil to fry. The food was not salty. We ordered bokchoy with fresh garlic. The most important thing is that if you pay by cash, you can get a 10% discount. I am not sure if this is a temporary event or not. Also you can pre-order the foods and pick them up. Price is reasonable in my opinion.
We love the hot and spicy chicken dish. It tastes really good. But over the period of two months quality is degraded. Use to have roasted pea nuts and larger chilies which tasted really good are no longer in the dish. The quantity seems smaller too. Sad to see the our favorite dish does not have same quality.
You may feel disappointed at the time you step into this restaurant as its actual appearance is not as impressive as it is on the website. The restaurant is small , just a little bigger than a typical Chinese takeout. However you will be surprised when the dishes are served. The test was really authentic and good. However, one of the dishes, the green beans were either some what overcooked or reheated old ,did not tasted as it was supposed to be. Also, they served really fast, making me doubt whether they were precooked package food. Anyway the food tasted better than I expected.
Sadly, this was once the best Chinese food in Buffalo. 🚨There is a new chef🚨 and I could tell immediately. The egg fried rice, once light, delicate and simple with scallions, is now akin to what you’d get at Panda Express. The General tso, which before was a mountain of crispy, tangy, fresh chicken, is sort of just like any other over sweetened chicken. The homemade dumplings were still good. But it’s just devastating because the food here before the new chef was the best Chinese I’ve ever had anywhere. I really hope they find someone new because what they had was truly special. I also heard the woman behind us complaining about the food and they even sent their food back. PLEASE BRING BACK THE OTHER CHEF THE TALL BALD GUY THAT MAN WAS AN ARTIST 😭
Casual, no frill place. Large menu and friendly service. Large portions. Beef noodle soup broth had zero flavor. Beef was not tender. Ratio of noodles to other ingredients was disproportionate (way too many noodles). Fish filet with silk tofu and chili sauce had a great flavor. Spicy wonton with dumplings were also good. Homemade dumplings were authentic. Scallion pancake was not good at all; super dry and not chewy. Tasted like a fried saltine cracker. Nice place to try! Unsure I will go back.
They completely ruined my Chinese New Year dinner. We arrived between 6 and 7pm, and the restaurant was understandably slammed since it was the day before Chinese New Year. There were four of us, and we planned to order about five dishes. After being seated for 10 to 15 minutes without anyone coming to our table, we noticed a QR code that said “Scan to Order,” so we assumed that was how we were supposed to place our order. Shortly after we submitted it, a woman, who I assume is the owner, came to take our order and told us not to use the QR code. We immediately explained that we had already placed it. She let out an exaggerated sigh and said she would go fix it. About 40 minutes later, she stormed out of the kitchen holding two tickets for our table, mumbling that the issue was because we ordered from our phone. She had already said she would fix it, so it was confusing and unprofessional for her to return nearly an hour later to complain about it. At that point, it also became clear that our food likely had not even begun to be prepared. We received our first dish, cumin beef, about 20 minutes later. The second dish did not arrive until an hour after that. The pacing was completely off. We never even received our appetizer. When the green beans with minced pork finally came out, they were extremely salty, shriveled, and lacked any flavor beyond salt. After two hours, we had only received two dishes. When my friend asked if our table had been forgotten, the owner came out and again blamed the delay on us ordering through the QR code. She claimed she had warned us that the food would take longer, which she absolutely did not. We fully understood that they were busy and were willing to be patient. We also acknowledged that using the QR code may have caused some confusion. However, tables that were seated after us were already receiving their food. There is no reason dishes should have been spaced an hour apart. If we had stayed for the remaining items, we likely would have been there until midnight. Overall, it was a terrible experience, not just because of the food, but because of the unprofessional service. The only consistent bright spot was the young man refilling our tea and water. We ended up leaving after the second dish, wasting three to four hours of our evening.
This is one of my favorite Asian restaurant to go but today they gave me the wrong order and didn’t hear any sorry from them, I even got blamed that they double checked my order but I really did order fish. I didn’t say anything against them I just said ‘“that’s okay/ that’s fine’” but not hearing any acknowledgement from their wrong was so OFF, they we’re very rude to me as I was the who did the mistake. I hope one day you’ll learn to acknowledge your mistake and be nice! There’s always KARMA!
I rarely write a review, but my boys were really disappointed and I agree with them to use my account for this review: The take out portion size has to be studied for a war crime. They are like giving us rations for WWIII. $34 for a nuclear bunker tin can of food is quite diabolical. Like we can’t be for real right now. The Mongolian beef tasted very soggy and no flavor at all. Fried rice was ok but overall both dishes were prepared with little heart to our opinions. Well, we saw a review saying there is significant more serving size when you eat in than take out. It feels kind of unfair. Looking up the stars again, it made us think it could be just bad luck, but I’m sorry we wouldn’t try next time.
This is horrible just a simple fried rice Beef - very little taste meat so thin that it looks like a noodle and about three or four of them- get ready to use your soya sauce. The aftertaste is absolutely horrible. the peas look as if they’ve been dried out. I’m not going there again horrible.. the moment you walk in there’s only two people eating in there and I should’ve walked out. The atmosphere is horrible.
