I’ve had Greek at restaurants overlooking the Mediterranean, some of the best Greek food imaginable in Queens, but all that aside, their chicken souvlaki is the best chicken I’ve ever eaten my life. I’m sure other menu items are also good, but I wouldn’t know and I’ll never find out as long as they have that delicious souvlaki on the menu.

The food was delicious and the staff was really great especially. Our waitress was kind enoughh to inform us the fries are not gluten free when my order was in withh gluten free bread. Good coffee, clean place, nice sized menu withh out being too muchh.

Food is Greek and American. Consistently good. Love the Belgian waffle for breakfast and love the pot roast for supper. They have lunch specials every day and 2 new soups each day. They also do takeout, never seem to wait any more than 15 minutes for it. Always see lots of older adults there (regulars the staff know) and UB staff, so it's a neighborhood staple.

The building is larger than it looks! There was so much room to accommodate for our table of 8-10 people and I am so grateful to spend my 1 year anniversary of Sobriety there with my family! The service was prompt and the waitress did an amazing job taking care of all of the big gatherings she served in that back area! The food was delicious! The chicken and waffles were just right! The chicken was a perfect mix of crunchy and tender and the waffles were crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside! The kids had a great time coloring, too! Definitely can't wait to go back for more celebrations!

A classic spot for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. It’s so massive that even at peak times when there’s not a spot left in the lot, I’ve never waited longer than 10 mins for a table. Service is always prompt and friendly. Prices are reasonable and quality is always solid. They are one of the most consistent spots around. Usually get the Cesar Wrap or an omelette which are both good. Recently tried the hot roast beef and was impressed. Overall would highly recommend. 4.6/5 -BJ

Just like fishing, I normally don't give out my favorite spots but, their fish fries are absolutely outstanding!! I've been looking for a good fish fry that doesn't taste like chicken fingers and french fries, And doesn't have too much batter, and they have nailed it. The fish is so fresh, flaky and delicious, I am never going anywhere else for a fish fry. I also once in a while to get the strip steak which is phenomenal also. Their Cooks definitely know how to cook a steak to a person's liking. I love this place so much.

Had phenomenal service and food while dining at Family Tree. The menu was quite large, but everything sounded great and fit a general theme for the place. I decided on the Patty Melt w/ Fries ($11.99) and it was delicious. Really loved the fries. My friend ordered the wings (they were okay), and the Gryo breakfast (see pics). She really enjoyed that and the little I tried did taste good. Definitely recommend checking out this place.

Good old hometown diner with great value. This place has a good assortment of different foods and never had a bad experience. This place is kid friendly as it has a kid menu and booster chairs. I personally love the souvlaki dinner. Food come outs fast and the staff is friendly. They also offer takeout service if you'd like to eat at home.

Had a taste for "breakfast in the afternoon" 😊 Although I had never been here before, it popped up on a search. Of the area where I was. Took a chance and wasn't disappointed. Many menu choices and portions more than adequate. Had leftovers from "breakfast" and ordered take out for later. I think I ate another 4 meals from the leftovers plus a take out stuffed pepper dinner...and the peppers were delicious!!! I will definitely return. They have gluten free bread, so sandwiches are possible too 😋 It's not fine dining, but you won't go wrong here. The only disappointing thing was the coffee.

I enjoy this restaurant for its “home cooked style” chicken Slovakian dinner and their specials. I appreciate how big the restaurant is for a COVID/flus friendly environment. I typically have take leftovers home for another meal! You get a lot of food. Let’s be honest, the place is older and needs some work. I would have loved to have seen it back in its prime. Family Tree is usually able to handle larger groups. They were able to handle 10 for brunch. Their menu was able to provide either breakfast or lunch items. My ham, egg, and cheese sandwich was very good. I know their breakfasts are ample. Our party had a good time over An extended period of time. Update: More then enough breakfast food for the money, but not as good today as it used to be. Potatoes and ham were ample,, but only OK. Eggs over easy were over done. Just OK today.

Ive dined here a few times, great place to eat. If your bringing older family members with dementia make sure you dont get lauren- she has no patience and will give you a hard time over something as little as asking for gravy on the side. And then proceed to talk about you 2 feet away to other staff members.

Food was very good, I've had better but it was well above average. The service was awesome, our waitress was very attentive and alert to the needs of our party of friends and family, need to say we had no qualms about leaving a hefty tip. Will recommend and revisit the Family Tree

I had a delicious lunch at Family Tree yesterday. Our waitress was excellent and checked back several times to see if there was anything else we needed. She made sure our table of 7 guest had a full pot of extra coffee. Their menue is varied with many good choices and they have daily specials. We enjoy going to the Family Tree often.

I love everything about this restaurant except the servers. They are brusque, harried and rude. The food is great, but I hate being treated like an annoyance by the very aggressive and rude waitresses. They yell, forgot to take my order (I was with a group of people) and then act annoyed when I requested to place my order. I thought they were being paid to serve the customer. Instead, I am paying them, apparently, for their approval? If you can't hire polite employees, I can go elsewhere. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from.

There were 7 in our party, 5 adults and 2 kids. Service was horrible. The waitress didn’t take our drink orders in a timely manner. It was not busy in the restaurant. She was slow to deliver the food. Some of us got our order eventually, but then we had to wait another 10 minutes for others in our party to get theirs. When we received our bill, it became clear why service was so bad. The waitress added on a 20% “service charge” because we were a party of 6 or more. I don’t mind tipping for good service, but the service we received was NOT worthy of a 20% tip. Food was mediocre. Mashed potatoes were cold. Meatloaf was just so so.

I usually love coming here. Best place to get a NY strip steak. However, recently I ordered a waffle with my steak and egg breakfast. The waffle was soggy with canned strawberries (I didn't even know these were a thing) I liked the whipped cream but that's all I could eat. My steak was very tough and usually it's so juicy and tender. My waitress was a doll though.

The bottles of oil on the table look like they haven’t been cleaned in years & the dessert menus as well. Veryyyy outdated chairs, water spots on the ceiling tiles, just a sad looking restaurant. I usually order off of Door Dash, but seeing the restaurant in person has made me question the cleanliness of the kitchen. I’m not sure if I’ll be back or order again.

The wife and I were seated in the front section. There was a smell like someone had smoked in there or maybe it was a smell from a water leak in the ceiling that you could see on the tiles . The table was sticky , the pie chart on the table looks like it has not been cleaned (wipped off) in awhile , menus were dirty . I went there with my mom and sister at the recommendation of a friend. We were very disappointed. The coffee was so weak that we asked for another cup, thinking it was just a bad pot. The second cup was just as bad. The sausage links were undercooked and barely warm. I liked the Country Club omelet but there was so much hollandaise sauce I had to scrape half of it off. And the breakfast potatoes were just bad! We asked for them well done, bit when they arrived some were practically burned and the rest were almost raw. Our server was just... fine. Not bad, but not very friendly. And don't ask about the bathrooms! The stalls were disgusting with the stall walls and doors that looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months! Overall I would not recommend and will personally not be going back. And just for the record we did not complain or send anything back. There was just so much wrong that it was beyond fixing.

I have been to this restaurant several times and I’ve noticed the serving sizes are way down and food is not as flavorful. Very surprised that burger came with chips not fried unless you pay $1.99 extra. Our waitress this past Saturday was not very friendly. She never asked what I wanted on my burger never brought water to the table and once she served our meal she didn’t come back until she handed us the check.

I've given this restaurant multiple tries over the years as I used to go there with my late mother all the time. While the food is good and the portions are generous, they always make at least one mistake and it always happens to be with my meal. I am aware that the chicken souvlaki wrap does not originally come with Greek dressing, but when a customer specifically asks for it on the side and your employee doesn't write it down and my husband has to go back and pick it up, that is not good customer service. Maybe you should pay them more and they would actually care to pay attention.

Worst food i've ever eaten. I ordered an omelet. It had tanned spinach canned mushrooms, and it came along with some sort of potato dish that I do believe work canned potatoes as well. The waitress we had was very rude. When I asked her for a refill on my coffee. She told me when she gets time she'll get to me. There was three of us in our party and the bill came to seventy five dollars. My suggestion is keep your seventy five dollars and go to a better restaurant, this is not the place to go for good food. At the end of the meal, we weren't even offered dessert, not that we would have taken it because the meal was so bad but the waitress wanted us out of there fast.

This was our first time here. Atmosphere is a little dark, everything is older, worn and outdated. It seemed like it needs a thorough deep cleaning (the carpets, chairs, etc). Service was okay, but the food was disappointing. One person ordered a sandwich which looked okay until you picked it up and realized the toast was completely burned almost black so they put that side face down so you wouldn't see it until the server walked away. I ordered the huge pancake that was so thick and dry that I took a couple of bites and could not eat it. Even gobs of syrup didn't help. My husband's food was cold and he never sends food back so he ate some of it anyway and left the rest. With so much competition in the immediate area, I recommend going elsewhere.

I go here quite often. Tonight was the worst!! I was charged $5 for extra gravy for my biscuits and gravy ,when I got it the biscuits weren't even covered with gravy.. my mom and I ordered eggs and they were over hard and almost burnt. I have been dining at the Family Tree Restaurant for over 20 years. I have always recommended the restaurant to people who have never been and always to my out of town guests. However on 12/15/19, I had the worst experience ever. Our food order wasn't correct and nor was it good. I have a long list of things that were incorrect. However, my issue was that the staff thought we had dined and ditched.We had left the table to go to the restroom (a worker saw us going into the restroom). I was offended that the staff thought we were the type of people who would commit such a dishonest act. Yes, an apology was given and our meals were free, however, the guests I brought said they were highly disappointed and would never return. I am now unsure what I will do going forward, I have always loved dining at this restaurant......now I just don't know. On a positive note your servers are wonderful!

They only sent me 1 and when I called she says I only ordered 1 which is wrong because I'm looking at my order on my phone and it's what I order all the time. Who would pay for 1 meal when it's buy 1 get one? You can't even order only 1 on the app.

The experience I had in June 23/24. That went to visit my daughter and they took us to this family restaurant. The food was salty and lamb shank It was ver dry and the soup very salty. When I was working in the restaurant the food have to be perfect for customers love it. You know if the person have a condition can’t eat salty. You have cooked less salt and prepared the right and served. I told myself this isn’t worth pay $25:00 dollars. If you want to service a meal cook with love, the food will test better too.

Food was awful! Salad was washed, tomatoes were old, they forgot food. Just a horrible experience.

Me amdmy family have been going here for YEARS. This past Sunday my food was NOT good at all. Grabbed a gyro dinner to go with a side of mash and gravy. The mash and gravy was HORRIBLE ❗️ had to toss it out. The gyro meat tasted like well seasoned ground beef. The salad had barley any lettuce. Overall it was a 2/10. I've never had a bad experience with them. Granted haven't been in a while. So yes I will be back and hopefully my experience will be a lot better. #disappointed

Stopped in for dinner. Sadly, it will be our last visit. The BLT was a mess. I am pretty sure the bacon was from breakfast. The bread was soggy and the mayo was funky. We sat for 15 minutes before the server realized we were there. The atmosphere is dark and looks like 1975. The server did remove the BLT from the bill. However, she never stopped at the table once after the "food" arrived.

i have been familiar with this restaurant for many years. Today, for the first time i ordered an open chicken souvlaki for takeout. The lettuce was minimal, the tomatoes were obviously the leftovers from the past week, and i had 1 small container of feta (emphasis on small). I asked for a 2nd small container of feta and was then charged an extra $1 ! I understand prices have gone up, but this takeout for $17.50 was pathetic. You used to do better, which means you can do better.
