Love there burgers , curly fries and shakes!! Fast friendly service with excellent food and clean restaurant
So much fun and the people are super friendly
So this was a first time there for me. If it wasn't for an awards ceremony for our kayak fishing series, I'd probably not have known about it, being from an hour and a half away. I can't WAIT to use the excuse of fishing, to be able to visit Tony's again.
The service is excellent, the food was cooked to perfection and it was the perfect place for lunch on a summer day. The prices are good and the establishment is spotless. A great place to eat.
Curly q fries hot dog Texas sauce and cheese yum loganberry buffalo thing
My only complaint about Tony's is that I can't get them year round. They just do it right. 👍🏼
Have not been here in close to 30 years definitely brought back some great memories food was excellent outside patio beautiful day to enjoy a meal.
Great food and big portions for the money.i love it there.they have ice cream too..nice sitting on the outside patio in the summer smelling lake erie
We've been coming to Tony's for years with our kids. Great summer staples..hotdogs/ hamburgers/ ice cream/ etc. There's seating inside & out (with a small playground for the littles). The staff are helpful and the restaurant is always clean. I wish it was opened year round!
Stone cold Nuts! Best hot dog and fries ever. Logan berry is insane ! Never heard of this sweet refreshing drink but I'll order it every time I get the pleasure of eating at Tony's . Please remember to tip the guys working behind the counter . Can't help adding that I know they work hard for peanuts
Tony's is excellent. A true charcoal broiled hot dog experience. It is clean, service is Is very good. Prices also good. I would enthusiastic endorse Tony's !
Great spot to stop, family-friendly, plenty of comfortable seating, friendly staff, not trying to rush your order out. Milkshake was very good, and made very thick with no extra charge
Really enjoyed our visit here today. Quality Sahlens dogs and Perry's ice cream. Very friendly and courteous staff. Every table had sanitizer and towels available so we felt very comfortable even during COVID.
Best milkshakes and french fries ever!!!! The milkshakes are just right, not to thick n not too runny. As for the fries.. omg .. all I got to say is they were bomb.. we loves them.
They take good care of you there. Plus all their food is excellent. Your in and out in minutes. Can't wait to go back. Try and see. Worth the ride out there day or nite. Enjoy!
Revamping my review as old owners sold out to a new man. With his experience and expertise in the hot dog industry, I wish him the best in this new venture and will be out to see him at work.
Best Hot Dog stand in WNY! My wife and I have been stopping here for. over 25 years.Friendly service, very clean and usually you'll find Tony himself cooking the dogs! Our only complaint is that's he's a Red Sox fan!! Go YANKEES!
This restaurant is amazing 10/10 I loved the ice cream and the food I got cookie doe ice cream and it was loaded with cookie doe I recommend eating here.
Fast friendly service ... prices were good and the food was cooked perfectly
Fries are always amazing. Fresh cut curly Fries! Customer service was and is always awesome! Great place to go for a charcoal grilled hotdog.
Great place for everyone to eat. Vegan options available and regular menu. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Food is awesome!
Been coming here since I was a kid moved away and came back still the same wonderful
Fast hot dog and burger joint, reasonably priced. Awesome fair style fries. Thought they sold foot longs, but they don't. Kid at the register was a little cocky to tell me they've never sold foot longs, but besides his attitude, I would recommend this place. Oh side note, while seats and tables were clean, the building's seen better days. The seating areas had weather beaten windows and frames kinda gross for an eating establishment. But this is only a hot dog joint, not a 5 star restaurant.
The food was good, (curly fries and chicken fingers were the best of what we had, the grease is fresh and food cooked perfectly.) The establishment was much cleaner than years ago when we last attempted to dine here, (complete turn around from before! We have avoided this place for years because it used to be dingy, the food was not very good, and the poor ventilation made you smell like old disgusting grease when you left...not anymore!) Hazel, the counter person, was so sweet, efficient and professional. Big thumbs up for good workers😊 Oh, and the milkshakes were PERFECT 😉
They have a nice new patio out front, same deck in the back. Very clean. On every table, they had hand wipes, hand sanitizer, cleaning spray and paper towels. Workers super nice, fast service. Took a peek at back indoor section and they re did all the booths, no more hard picnic tables. Looking good for when we can start dining in again.
Love Tony's food ❤️. Their ice cream is the best too!
Every single time Iv been to Tony’s the staff was super friendly. Super clean. Foods amazing and is served fast. Highly recommend trying if you’re in the area or want a good burger. The bacons circle and super cool as well :)
Great place to stop for some excellent dogs, grilled just right, plus awesome fries. Other great menu options and a ice cream counter also in case you need a few more calories to top off your night. Can't wait to get back again soon.
Kids really enjoyed the go karts. We then had lunch. The burgers were very good and the wrap was okay. The sweet potato fries were very tasty, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.
Always a great food experience at Tony's. Food is cooked perfect , prices are great , and the service is quick . No matter who it is behind the grill , you'll be impressed. Great place to eat .
Wonderful food, quick service, old fashioned atmosphere. Diner food included basic like hot dogs, as well as chicken finger subs. A variety of toppings are available at the self service bar. Very happy with my experience here.
What I would call a large hamburger/hot dog stand. They have a variety of foods, including large ice cream menu. Lots of outdoor seating, too. The place has been around forever. We took our kids there, and now our kids want to take theirs when in town.
Great prices, food and service. They are only seasonal
Was starving and in a mood for some texas hots. Staff were super friendly and they cooked my food exactly how I wanted it. The food may not be for everyone - burgers dogs and fries and shakes - but the service and staff are exceptional! This will be my go to place for Texas hots!
I've been going here for the past 60 years! My father always took us there after a day at Hamburg beach. Never a disappointment,
Nice place casual place to take the family to eat. Staff seemed to be very hardworking young adults. They were all very friendly and made our orders to perfection.. My stepson loved the triple cheeseburger.
Went here for a day of go karts and Mike was absolutely amazing. Very chill and was so nice and kind with us. I would recommend this place to everyone whether it be a date night or a family outing!
Just stopped in for some fries before work and the girl working was really nice and even charged my phone 4 me while I ate ty again 🙃
I’ve been very harsh critic of Tony’s in the past. With that being said the improvements that I’ve seen since a management change will bring me back again. The atmosphere of staff working together is what I recall as a teenager. The staff seems motivated to do a good job and were very busy my last visit. My burger was cooked to perfection as well as my fries and onion rings. I’m glad to see they’re moving in the right direction with fresh cut fries again and look forward to seeing other improvements as the new staff flourishes!
Went today with my grandkids for a hotdog fries and an ice cream and I absolutely loved it there… The people were so friendly and the food was so fresh… Thank you, Tony’s
This place has gone down hill so bad. Don't come here. The staff is brats! No one wants to do their job. They get mad because they can't read a food order and make the wrong thing. Or don't even make your food at all... the curlie fries are not fresh cut theyre frozen and gross. Go to Ted's or Red Top. Not here.
We had a group of 24 stop in for lunch today. They had no idea a large group would be stopping by but the young staff handled it calmly and courtously. They took our orders and the food was prepared and served in a timely manner with all orders being made correctly. The food was delicious but the highlight was the pleasant and hard working staff. We will definitely be returning the next time our group goes to play miniature golf.
Overall a sweet little restaurant! Great food and great service. Ordered a hot dog, some fries, drinks and onion rings. The food came out quick and hot. Delicious. :) the overall atmosphere isn't terrible, they are going for a 50's vibe and you can see it. The only complaint I had if it is even a complaint at that.. Is when you get a beverage, from the drink machine there are a ton of ants and spiders on the actual machine..also when I was pouring pop out, a ant fell into my cup of ice... So I had to dump it out and re pour a new drink and ice .. I understand it's tough cause the building is old,and I'm sure there are a few holes here and there for bugs to get thru..but maybe if someone can wipe the machine out/down so ants don't fall into people's drinks? That be great. Other than that this is a great little place to grab a quick bite! :) also there is mini golf ⛳ and go karts!!!
Tony's Bay View Drive-In is an essential dining destination for residents and visitors in the Southtowns area. With its casual, family-friendly atmosphere, Tony's has become synonymous with summer for many. A trip to Tony's is almost a ritual during the warmer months, especially for those seeking the classic American comfort of hot dogs and burgers. These items have a reputation for being consistently delicious and satisfying. The charm of Tony's extends beyond its food. The establishment has a nostalgic ambiance that harks back to the traditional American drive-ins, making it a perfect spot for families and friends to gather and enjoy a meal together. The outdoor seating adds to the experience, allowing diners to bask in the summer sun while enjoying their meals. In 2023, Tony's introduced new items to its menu, keeping the offerings fresh and exciting. Among these new additions, the chicken hoagie stands out. This hoagie is prepared with care, featuring juicy, well-seasoned chicken that is complemented by fresh, crisp vegetables and a soft, flavorful bun. It's a welcome addition for those looking to try something different beyond the classic hot dog or burger. Another highlight of the new menu is the variety of sides and beverages that pair perfectly with any meal. Whether you're in the mood for something classic like french fries or onion rings, or something a bit different, Tony's has options to satisfy all tastes. Tony's Bay View Drive-In also offers excellent service. The staff is known for being friendly and efficient, ensuring that every visit is a pleasant experience. This combination of great food, a delightful atmosphere, and stellar service makes Tony's a must-visit spot in the Southtowns, especially during the summer months.
The food was very good. When I was there the back sitting area was quite filled with smoke from the grill. This was because of a fan blowing it to the back of the restaurant. I sat in the front of the restaurant and had no issue. : )
Absolutely awesome fried bologna sandwich. Translucent sweet onion slices atop a 1/4 inch fried bologna steak inside a fresh sandwich roll! Don't miss the Philly steak sandwich either.
Great little burger stand for the summer. Really can't go wrong with anything here. Highly recommended. Do not go if you expect clean tables. It's a burger joint not a restaurant
Love the food, staff and service! Only complaint is that the chicken fingers had a raw like texture. Onion rings are the best!
It was good but some lady stopped us from gokarting more. I was with some friends and we were having a fun time but some lady who didn't even work there stopped all of us even though there was a gokart for her too and the guy who worked there stopped our gokart.
Great place if you want a quick burger, dog, chicken sandwich and don't want Burger King or McDonalds. Fast service and really good food. Indoor and outdoor seating available. They also have ice cream too
My brother and I had been to Tony's one other time and that was in early Spring of this year. We were lucky to catch it again on the last day it would be open for this season and we were happy on both occasions. Tony's has a family's feel to it which is hard to come by these days. I dedicatedly plan on returning again next Spring for a milkshake that is out of this world!
Kraut dog, it. sausage , curly fries. Food was quick and delicious. It did get crowded and oh so noisy, little kids running around and only Coke products. Probably not a regular stop for us.
Took family there last Friday ..It wasn't very busy @ 5:30..We had a large order as there was 6 of us. Was glad to see the previous cook back and the hot sauce made the way I love and used to..Been a regular customer for many years..the family enjoyed our meal but was disappointed custard machine wasn't up and running..we went elsewhere for it..
Typical hot dog joint atmosphere. The dogs are done well with good choice of toppings. Onuon rings very good; However, the fries were undercooked and just past lukewarm. Service was excellent.
Food is like any fast food place. Philly cheese steak sub was good but light on the meat and peppers and onions. Fries were good as well. Tacos are very good especially the steak tacos. Atmosphere was like an old time diner but needed a good cleaning and shine.
It's a old school dog and burger joint, been around a long time. You get charcoal grilled basic burgers and dogs here, tacos and hot sandwiches. A fixens ( toppings) bar, icecream/milkshakes available. It's a order and wait at counter type place. Dont expect gourmet dining but going back in time and reliving yesteryear. I enjoyed it very much and you will too when you keep those expectations.
Average pricing. Nice little seasonal place with indoor and outdoor seating. Nice location, go karting and miniature golf available next door. Can make it a family evening out. They serve ice cream too!
I went late for lunch. While the taste of my grilled chicken sandwich was good, I could help but notice it came out quick and was fully cooked, I can't grill anything that fast, so I am guessing it was reheated. The same goes for the curly fries. The deep fryer might need an oil change. Overall, I would go back and try it again. Like I said, the taste of the chicken sandwich was good, the staff was fantastic, prompt and friendly. By the way, the ice cream was great!
Bring back the homemade curly fries. It appears they switched from homemade curly to frozen bag ones, not the same!!
Food was ok but Large curly fries were the size of a small in most places. Probably not going back again.
Food ehhh -cheap/fast food. Don't get curly fries unless you like soggy/oily ones. Service ok for busy restaurant. Atmosphere pretty good- they have many tables outside!
The prices are reasonable upon first glance, and the food smells good. My family and I just stopped by for a coffee, however, and the keurig they brewed was rather weak.
Normally I would love everything they make. I ordered a chicken finger sub. I did not ask them to toast the roll or put blue cheese on it. I just assumed they would do both, but they don't. They're small order of french fries were VERY small. You should check out Louie's Hot Dogs on Sheridan Dr. Their order of french fries almost covers the whole tray.
They have really nice and polite people working behind the counter. Butts there Texas sauce is basically beans or tastes like it. And their fries are stale and get cold quickly. I probably won't be back for the food.
Curly Q's should have been cooked more, sweet potatoe fries so not worth the price I was shocked at how little I received. We won't go back again just not the same. Granddaughter didn't even like her grill cheese.
Slow service. Social distancing not enforced in line. Place seemed overcrowded while waiting for food. Same happened while ordering ice cream... Another patron shoved in front of me with a mask half on to touch all of the ice cream coolers. Employee was seen carefully cleaning and sanitizing all outdoor tables, taking his time and doing a thorough job.
Took my family here for dinner. We ordered 2 large curly q fries. There was not one curly fry in the bunch, just short little pieces. My daughter and I both had hotdogs that were tough and hard to bite through. The onions smelled mildewy also. The milkshakes and ice cream were good though
It's gone downhill. The burgers were so thin and didn't seem like beef and tasted like smoke in an offputting way. The curly fries must've been the bottom the bag bc they were just tiny pieces. The service was "typical teen not wanting to be there", no smile. It used to be one of our favorite summer places. I would suggest going to George's in Boston! Much better!!
Ok not the same. My son got a hamburger for $6.24, where's the beef! It was so flat and not worth the money, I had an orange creamsicle milkshake no flavor at all and was kinda thin. I use to come here all the time and now the food is over priced, you don't get a lot like before and the back part is filthy and needs a remodel.
Been a few years since eating here. Used to love the texas sause. Orderd 2 Texas dogs and curly fry. Cons: Definitely not the same Texas sause recipe and definitelynot same fries,so if your looking that when you were a kid experience, its gone.,They ditched Pepsi for coke which is a bummer. Pros: Great staff, good dog, good fries.very clean, ice cream looked good.
The fries were nothing but greasy and only a tea spoon of Texas sauce on the burgers that wasn't fully cooked.
What happened to Tony's , not a fan today hot dogs were small the buns were too . The curly Q fries were terrible and I really had a taste for Tony's curly fries . Don't bother with the veggie burger. Very disappointed won't be going back. :(
Went to Tony's again after many years. I couldn't believe how dirty it was: tables, floors, everything. The food was mediocre at best; The bread was stale. Staff didn't look happy to be working there. Won't be going back.
Had a lot of great memories coming here as a kid. Decided to extend the invite to the next generation of my family so I stopped in today with my son and my mother at 630pm to finally have him experience the magic for the first time. We were so excited. Line was out the door, this was fine, was ready to wait. But upon entering, the lady at the counter barked at me that they are closed when clearly their sign said open til 8pm. 🙃 I brought this counterpoint to their attention to which they then scoff that they were outta food. Are you kidding me? This business has been here for decades and you can't gauge how much food you could sell on a beautiful day? If you're outta food on the first nice day of the year, who would waste their time ever coming back the rest of the season? I know I won't. If the place is closed for the night, switch your signage outside to state that you can't run your business anymore cuz all you did was waste my family's time and the people that were waiting patiently behind us. Like I said, I won't waste my time driving through the pothole farm parking lot they got to look at some sad run down go kart track I used to enjoy back when the owners cared about their business.
There was a mistake made on every item we ordered. Curly fries were little nibbles of fries and were un edible. My whole sub took 20 minutes longer than my families, and only half of it had meat. Very disappointing and probably will not be back.
I had not even got to the minu yet and a woman came up to my car and asked what I wanted. I asked if i could look at the minu she got an attitude with me. The food was OK butt it took 30 minutes to come out and we only ordered 4 things.
1/4 burger bun to large, unknown why I paid more, horrible cook, small curly cold, root beer flat, cat up very sweet not real, I understand this was a 14.33 for lunch, I get that, but the condiments are horrible, charge the price and fix the issues, I went here when this place first opened, value is never the best price, please fix, 🙏,
Look, these hotdog / burger joints are getting too expensive and the quality of food is going down. Biggest complaint is the way the person taking the order swings the screen around for you to tip 15. 20, or 25,%. Really? The food is overpriced and the kids have to be making at least minimum wage, not server wage. Dogs were good but the burger had a weird propane taste to it. Just not worth the money. Go somewhere else.
Always use to love this place until now..out with my 3 year old grand daughter and mother. The dollar ball game malfunctioned and refused to reimburse... Another company owns machine was my answer. Terrible place to tease your kids
Felt like I was in communist China seeing everyone wearing a mask. But yet the food wasnt any better. Soggy fries. Burrito was burnt, hot dogs ain't a teds or Louies. Will not be returning. #takethemaskoffsheep
Ate there on July 7th with my wife and 3 kids. Everyone who ate there currently has food poisoning. We ordered a veggie burger, double cheeseburger, chicken tenders, sweet potato fries, regular fries and a milk shake.
The food was pretty good but the place needs a good cleaning the windows were absolutely filthy it sad because it used to be a great place to eat
The curly fries are more like potato skins since they have nothing in them. The charcoal hot dog lookslike itsnever seen a briquett of charcoal, its more like a boiled hotdog. Then to top it off I ordered a chocolate chunk milk shake and its just a vanilla shake with chocolate bits. OAN: the condiments are great and include a buffalo staple, websters mustard😊 unless you live close and cannot get to anywhere else I would suggest you skip this place altogether
This may legitimately be the worst meal we have ever had. The fries were absolutely disgusting, tasted like rancid oil and were undercooked. The burger was terrible and was essentially a steamed hospital cafe patty, and the aftertaste of the chicken sandwhich was gross. The workers were very nice, however, so the service is not the issue.
Quality is not there in the food and service. Curly fries were not fully cooked and sitting in grease in our container. Also hot 1 small and 1 large bowls of ice cream and got the same amount of ice cream for both. Also found long hair in large cup of ice cream. Seemed like kids working there were not sure of or trained properly on how to do their jobs.
Since the new ownership, the looks and aesthetics of the place have gone up but the quality and taste of food has tanked. Been coming to Tony's every year since I was a kid. 20+ years and it has always been delicious. However, These past 2 years the Food has just been getting worse and worse. Last year the fries tasted decent but were dry. Like desert dry. This year? Greasy, tasteless and undercooked. Hamburgers also just do not taste like they did. Philly cheesesteak has minimal meat compared to many years ago while the price rises. Paid $29 last night for food for my myself and my father and I feel like I would have gotten better tasting and more food from Louie's Texas Red Hots for the price I paid. (Not a compliment as they are garbage and dont even flame grill anything which is the only way to eat a hot dog) Honestly, for the price you pay here at Tony's for the bad taste and poor quality food, your better off going elsewhere. Ted's and Rayzor's Dawg House are cheaper AND 1,000x better than Tony's as of this day 8/19/23. Idk what the new management has done but they are not doing a good job since taking over.
on 8/15/22 we experienced terrible customer service. I ordered for my four-year-old but didn’t realize there was a kids menu. The girl taking my order did not ask me if i wanted to make it a kids meal (the kids menu is not located next to the regular menu) and so when I asked about it after I cashed out, it was made out to be a problem. This was our 1st time there. I was told no it was not possible because the food portion was already being cooked( a hot dog) the texas hot dog was not great either. The sauce was room temperature with no flavor. 1 girl there making the hot dogs was was very nice.
The new owner of this place Alan is by far the worst business owner in all of hamburg. He doesn't wear gloves while touching your food nor does he care when you complaining about it. The smell of alcohol on his breathe was just disgusting. The day I was there will be my last. I watched him verbally assault a young lady that was working there in front of her coworkers and all the patrons of this business. He made this teenaged girl cry with the awful things he spewed at her. I will support any other business in hamburg but never will I return or suggest this disaster of a business to anyone else.
Walked in and placed my order, my two friends and I were receiving dirty looks from staff members. They were being extremely short taking our order. When we came back inside to grab our take out, they had our food flipped upside-down in the bag on the counter. When I asked why they handled my food like this, and why it wasn’t handled like the other orders, the woman behind the counter gave me a blank stare and said nothing. So we just grabbed our food and walked out. I’ll never return to this establishment.
The food is good, the prices are wallet friendly, the service is spot-on. Ordered a large curly fries and got a big amount but they were super-thin pieces and not very curly. Even Arby's curly fries are better than Tony's curly fries! The floor by the back serving counter with the condiments had dried-on liquid dripped on it, as well as black mold on the floor by the back door. Also, the back seating area needs a MAJOR cleaning or renovation! ALL the windows *inside* had LIVE spiders on webs crawling all over them and the inside window frames had dangerous BLACK MOLD on them. I even saw one of the bench seats having a big spider web connecting the seat to the the table! Thankfully I didn't sit at that one!! After filling a cup with soda from the soda machine, I found a tiny bug in it that came out from the soda spout. It was disgusting. I gave it 1 star for the back room condition, dirty floor, and what came out with my soda. This needs to be reported to the Dept of Health!
How is it possible to screw up a hot dog. I asked for some bacon and cheese and thank God I watched this young lady try and cook bacon at the same time as she was burning my hot dogs which were also burnt on the outside and under cooked on the inside. This place should be shut down
Tried to catch a nostalgic vibe and a quick meal at Tony’s Bayview Drive In tonight. What I got was a massive case of disappointment. Tony’s was an almost daily go to for a fast lunch back when I worked in the area. Sadly he passed years ago and today’s version looks and operates nothing like the business that still bears his name. The cashier and the front and back cooks looked like they all hated their jobs. No greeting from the cashier, sullen looks on the faces of the cooks. This place used to have a friendly vibe when you walked in. In was not uncommon to have Tony engage you in conversation and his staff always looked like they enjoyed what they were doing. As for the food, I ordered an Italian Sausage with peppers and onions , my wife a fish sandwich. The sausage as it turned out was a patty instead of link. Grilled over charcoal the patty looked and tasted more like a hamburger than Italian Sausage. No Fennel, garlic, oregano, Italian flakes to be found. The peppers and onions were just as bland. The fish sandwich looked a lot like a McDonalds Fish Filet - frozen, square and slightly over deep fried, the sandwich was nothing to write home about. I get it, nothing lasts for ever, over time owners change but the employees can make a difference. A smile, a “thank you for your business”are just as important as the food you serve. No one who worked there today gave me a reason to ever go back. Have some respect for the namesake who built that business.
I have been coming here for generations ! My dad passed away a month ago and we always came here for the food! The French fries were what made the experience enjoyable! Unfortunately they have changed the iconic curly fries !
Someone needs to clean the entire establishment from top to bottom!! We LOVE this place, the food is always amazing, the service is excellent- the atmosphere is just gross! The amount of bugs and gunk on the windows is unbelievable! The tables are clean, the booths are clean; everything else needs cleaning! I’d hate to see this place be shut down due to something that can be easily done. Thankfully the grills are always spotless!
