Great vegan and vegetarian options. Well seasoned filling and perfectly crispy yet light crust. It was so delicious, we had to place a 2nd order to take home! Highly recommend the soy chorizo and vegan mushroom w/ cashew cheese. If not vegan, the beef and sante fe chicken was excellent as well. Definitely will come back and recommend to our friends. Very nice friendly service as well!

This is a favorite of mine. It's friendly and small, but makes tasty empanadas for all kinds of palates. You may have to wait if you walk in, but call ahead and order and they'll have everything ready to go. My favorites address biscuits and gravy (with yummy sausage) and pinto beans and rice (one of the tasty vegan options). I would highly recommend this spot.

Highly recommend checking this local spot out. Good options for empanadas from traditional to experimental. Online order and pickup works well. If you order in person, expect to wait ten minutes or so as they bake them fresh. As the sign on the window says, "good food takes time". 2-3 empanadas is a good severing size. They stencil what's inside each empanada using dough so they are easy to sort once you've received them.

Having never been here before, I didn't know what to expect! I was delighted to see some vegetarian options including mushroom & cashew cheese (which my daughter loved), the spinach & cheese (OMG so amazing), we also tried the ham & cheese (equally delicious) and of course the dessert one, mixed berry. Delicious! Portions aren't massive, but worth it. I tried the Beef, Santa Fe Chicken and Creamy Corn. Santa Fe was the best. Not a ton of seating, so try to avoid normal lunch hours, but service is super fast.

Absolutely amazing! I have nothing bad to say about this place. It is a family owned business and they make their food with extra love. Every thing is made fresh to order and delicious. The sauces are on point, etc. My sister and I decided to try here for the first time with our kids, who are picky eaters and they absolutely loved it. We got the six pack with the green sauce and the marinara! All delicious. The owner is kind and informative if you have questions. We definitely will be back for catering or for ourselves hahaha. You will not be disappointed with these empanadas! Also, you order from the outside window, Do Not walk inside. They also have an app or you can call to place your order and pick it up. So many good things to say, not enough space. This is my family's new spot for delicious empanadas.

These empanadas are delicious! There was a line here when we showed up but it was fairly quick. We tried the beef, biscuits and gravy, chili con carne, and breakfast empanadas. We also liked the sauces. The biscuits and gravy empanada had a good amount of rosemary and it was so tasty!

I picked up a dozen of mixed Empanadas for my coworker and I to try. Every single one of them I picked was amazing! The crust is perfection and the seasonings used on each one was perfect, too! I also tried their Vegetarian Tortilla Soup and it was Yummo. This is definitely a great place to try in Burbank! The staff there was so helpful and so patient as we were trying to figure out everything we wanted. Delicious! This was our first time visiting this establishment. The beef and Sante Fe Chicken empanadas were fresh and hot. The guy recommended a mild salsa to go with our empanadas. Great service! We ordered at the window and waited a few minutes. It seemed like many did online ordering. We’ll definitely come back!

Every empanada I order there is great. My favorites are the biscuit & gravy and the spinach &cheese. The salsas they provide I think are homemade as each of the three are different and amazing in there own right. I've come to appreciate this place more when I need a lighter and healthier meal. I would just order in advance though.

They're good. Not like your grandma made good, but good in their own unique way. Their sweet ones make great deserts. My favorite is the biscuits and gravy tho. I have nothing but good memories from this place, even if they are a bit pricey.

I hadn't been back since before pandemic. Tried the Santa Fe Chicken. Delicious. The Carne y Chile was spicy 🥵 for sure, be warned. I also enjoyed the soyrizo empanada. Sitting area behind the restaurant. You get to walk through the restaurant to get there. They will bring out your order. Everything was pleasant. Parking on street and neighborhood in general.

It’s absolutely wonderful. Very cheap prices. 2.95 for each and two or three can fill you up! The combo meal for 8.25 is rock solid.

Normal when a new wave looking shop opens I'm not that impressed. But I have to say the quality and taste of the empanadas and burritos was amazing. I get worried when I see vegan items featured (reminds me of some hipster joint). But this place hit every note on my pallet. Price was fair. Quality was perfect and shop vibe fit what there are serving. Customer service was great. I guess the only constructive criticism I can offer is to change the chimichurri sauce. Use fresh spices instead of dried. I will definitely be back to spend more of my money here. 😋😋😋

Don’t sleep on their chimichurri. I love many of their flavors but funny enough I think pepperoni is my favorite. And for those wondering, they do have vegan options. Expect long waits for your order; they take a while to make.

Really good empanadas! Even though I'm not vegan, my favorite is the homemade mushroom and cashew cheese empanada. The pepperoni empanada tastes like pizza which I'm all for. Also enjoyed the salsa and chimichurri dips.

Ordered the combo for about $13- which included: • 2 empanadas • 1 soup or salad • can of soda I tried the beef and spinach+cheese empanadas. Both were good, my favorite was spinach & cheese- creamy and flavorful. I tried the lentil soup, not bad but not my favorite and will pass next time and stick to just empanadas.

I never write reviews but I just eat a pumpkin empanada from here and my mind was blown. Let me tell you about it. It was Halloween 2016, my wife And I had just had a baby 3 weeks ago and have been trapped in the house due to this little love bug. We where in the market for a baby Bjorn and found a used one off Craigslist in the magnolia park area. So we packed up the baby and dog and drove the vehicle over that way. The sun was setting a beautiful reddish orange and we didn't have trouble finding the person's house. The house was cute, looked like a 3 bedroom. The family where all outside enjoying the cool Halloween night. The Baby Bjorn was just as advertised so we got it and where like what do we do next? I said I was hungry and looked around on Google maps for a quick bite. Our new baby was half asleep in the back seat so I knew we had some time to find a place. That's when I found World Empanadas! It was less then a mile away so we strolled on over baby and dog in tow and that's when we tried the aforementioned pumpkin empanada. You should DEFINITELY try it... but I'm remembering now that it was a special that day so they probably won't have it when you go. Try something else it's all good!

One of my favorite places in Burbank. Family owned business. The owner started from something small and now he is at this nice store. I commend him. I usually get the combo 2 empanadas with the soup. I’ve tried many of the empanadas. The ones standing out. Santa fe chicken, carne, spinach and cheese, ham and cheese... Some desert empanadas as well. Ask for the Horchata with coffee. Great mix of flavors. They deliver for catering.

Did a quick lunch stop and tried the combo meal which was delicious and a good value. I had the lentil soup, the beans + cheese empanadas and the quinoa + lentils empanadas.. everything tasted very good, even the cafe americano was good! If you are in the area, give this place a try, it’s worth it 😄

We hadn't had World Empanadas in years and had found ourselves minutes away while shopping for work supplies. We ordered 6 VEGAN empanadas- 1 mushroom and cashew cheese, 2 soy chorizo, 2 samosa, and 1 berry. They were amazing! Favorites were the samosa and berry!

We had the Chile con Carne and Santa Fe Chicken empanadas, and they were both delicious. The crust was very soft and lightly flaked, which seems like an improvement since I came here a few years ago. Highly recommend!

Recommended by a coworker. Very good empanadas you can purchase baked or take home to bake yourself. Different from the Chilean empanadas I'm used to. They have many different types of empanadas, almost too many. They have 3 different types of salsas to dip your empanadas into. I would highly recommend World Empanadas.

I made the mistake of not taking a photo of any fillings but I was too busy devouring these savory empanadas. It will be around 20 minutes for your order but you can tell there is a lot of care put into these making it worth the wait. I don’t want to share which one was the best because I want it all to myself.

I got the $12 combo with two empanadas a drink and tortilla soup. My empanadas cheese & spinach empanada and Berry one. The food was good and also a good value. I am a boysenberry pie girl and I love the berry one. They are very friendly there and also brought it curbside for me. There are other flavors of the empanadas that I want to go back and try.

Another one of my accidental fines. I love a good empanadas everyone can't make empanadas but this shop has perfected the empanadas. The dough is tasty the feelings are even it's an even balance like yin and yang. An empanada is a personalized with their initials I found that to be very special. Nice people behind the counter.

Delicious, hot, and fresh. The ones with cheese had quite a lot of cheese if you love the ooey gooey, personally a bit much for me. The empanadas were flaky and warm and they do mark them with initials so you know which on is which. I wanted to try them all but my stomach is only so big.

Great baked empanadas. Crust is thin and cracker like crisp. Only thing was I wasn’t the biggest fan of the beef and chicken [pot pie] fillings compared to ones for typical empanadas. But the spinach cheese and the biscuits gravy are great.

It was a very hot day in Burbank (~100F) when I went but these empanadas were amazing. The people at the front counter are knowledgeable of the products, ingredients and preparation. They offer four different types of vegan empanadas. I tried the mushroom, rice and beans and the lentil one. They’re all delicious with a crispy flour crust. They’re prepared fresh and worth the wait. They also have a tortilla soup that is very tasty which is GF and vegan. They do have empanadas for all diet types. They also have fresh drinks to enjoy. Parking is in the front of the establishment and you have to walk around the corner to reach their back seating area if you plan to eat there.

Picked up a box of 6 empanadas to bring home, and another time i stopped by on impluse while driving by with my wife and we sat down on their outdoor tables by the sidewalk and had some coffee and 2 breakfast empanadas each. I personally loved their pepperoni pizza empanada, theres alot of different kinds of flavors to try beyond the standard beef/chicken/pork fillings a traditional bakery would have. Its a good place to know about. Their empanadas might be the perfect snack your craving that day, or you need to quickly get something like Porto's, but without the huge crowd and line.

A fun little restaurant with a lot of interesting flavors that will make you want to try them all. Out of the 4 flavors I tried, the Chile con Carne was easily my favorite. It was spicy and delicious! The spinach and cheese and Santa Fe were very solid. The only disappointment was the sausage and biscuits, which I’m not sure was correct as it tasted like it had olives? Regardless, it wasn’t bad, but i won’t be ordering that one again. The pastry itself held up pretty well after being delivered. I also love the little logo on the pastry. I ordered 4 empanadas and that was just the right amount for me, as they quite small. I recommend going here if you like trying a variety of flavors and love a good pastry.

There's so much variety with this place! I wanted to get their $27 box of 6, but if you're ordering or GrubHub, that's not an option. Honestly though, you're probably better ordering at the window, because my GrubHub order was lost anyway, but not a big deal, only took 5 minutes to gather my order together. Oh, and their dessert Nutella + Banana Empanada was really good! Sorry! No pics!

Nah fam they might actually be the goat. This place actually makes better pasta than most Italian restaurants. Like it's actually al dente. Wild. The burrito is good too. Where this place shines is the empanadas. The perfect mix of crispy but soft. The stuff is reasonable, the flavors are all there. In the corner of your empanada, they actually press on the initials for what type it is so it's easy to tell later on. You've gotta clean the outdoor seating yourself, like brush off peopes crumbs and the like, but that's cool.

Solid choice for empanadas in the valley, love the variety and sometimes seasonal additions, try the Nutella banana! Had a mix up where they only completed 1 out of 3 pre paid orders from my group, just in case it was a duplicates, so delayed me about 15 minutes from my scheduled pick up. Overall good, but the value could be better.

Empanadas were good. Filled well and large. Price was good for the lunch special, 2 empanadas, a side, and a drink for $12. The balance is definitely there. Unfortunately, the size and price does not equal flavor. None of the empanadas we had were bad, but nothing I'd go out of my way to tell people to try. In short: if you're there, go for it. It's fine.

Tried a few different empanades today. I enjoyed all of them, but the spinach and 3 cheese was a complete standout to me. I also tried the banana and Nutella one, eaters beware, I got the Nutella all down my shirt! Next time I'll just put a bunch of napkins down my front before eating it.

They used to have seating indoor and out the back but now it's limited to a few tables out front. In fact everything is outfront now, including ordering & pick up. They do a lot of pick-ups for industry workers so the wait can get very long. It just feels a lot more impersonal than it used to. The food, however, has remained consistent. Their empanadas, soups, and teas are great. My personal favorite is Chili Con Carne with verde salsa and a hibiscus iced tea.

The empanadas are good but very expensive. A dozen will cost $50. And you need at least 2-3 per person. When I was last there they weren't even letting people inside. Now you have to order & pick up from an outdoor window even in the winter. I will find a different place to buy empanadas.

My first time ordering, for pickup. I ordered a dozen empanadas in four different flavors. After I got the package home, I discovered that there were no tags or markings to indicate which flavors were which. My group had to cut them all open and take their best guess for each one. They tasted good, once we figured out who got what, but cutting them open was a nuisance. I don't think I'll order a mixed dozen again because the staff isn't helpful.

I thought it was dry. The chimichurri tasted like Italian dressing. You need to step it up E.W. It's not that hard to put a little more love into the fillings. Update your recipes.

I've had empanadas throughout Cali. These are just ok. I think expensive for the size @5 bucks with tax. Chimichurri was an extra charge too.

Came here for the first time and it was okay. The employees were super nice and I received my order within the time they gave (about 6-8mins for 3 empanadas and soup). Parking on the street was limited when I arrived around 4pm but I found a spot not too far away. For the food: I ordered the beef, Santa Fe chicken, and biscuits and gravy empanadas. I also got the tortilla soup. I ended up paying over $20 with tip. The beef empanada was only half filled. The Santa Fe chicken empanada was pretty good. The biscuits and gravy empanada had way too much pepper and wasn't that good - I couldn't finish it. The dough was undercooked for all of them. The beef had raw gummy dough. The tortilla soup was a good vegan option but not sure I'll order it again. Overall, the empanadas could have been cooked longer but the pastry had good flavor. I'm not sure they were worth $5/ea but everything is expensive these days.

World Empanadas in Burbank was a mixed experience for me. It took longer than expected to get just two empanadas, which was a bit frustrating. The outdoor seating area isn’t very enjoyable, it’s hot, with no shade, and feels like you’re sitting right next to the road with tons of cars constantly passing by. As for the food, the empanadas were okay, but honestly, I feel like they’re more hype than substance. That said, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. Overall, not bad, but not sure I’d go out of my way to return.

This place use to be really good and worth it. The prices have hiked to a ridiculous amount and the filling quantity has dropped. I remember when they use to be full empanadas. Now there is barely any filling. Charging $5 for an empanada, there should a lot more filling.
