Opinions de Twelvemonth Burlingame
Michelle was such a great server! Friendly, knowledgeable and pleasant. As a meat lover, this was my first vegan experience and I LOVED it!
This place is quite lovely, The service was even better! A nice young lady named Kimberly was a very big help on me deciding. She recommended the sunshine Curry and the lady killer. Which now I am obsessed and I will be returning soon
Twelvemonth is one of a kind. The service by Kay, the ambience, the warmth of all other employees and the food bowled us over. We spent a fantastic 2 hours here consumed by the taste depth in each of the dishes. Highly recommend this restaurant and Kay is the best
I went about a year ago and again last night, the new menu is amazing! We loved everything we tried. It’s so awesome seeing an upscale vegan restaurant be so innovative while making such delicious food. I’m vegetarian and couldn’t even believe all the food was dairy free because of how rich the flavors are. I will definitely be back.
Amazing restaurant in Burlingame that is plant-based and fabulous. This restaurant pushes the boundaries of everything that plant-based can be. Incredible food, exceptional decor and vibe. No detail was missed in designing the space - the calibur of this spot rivals Crossroads in LA. So glad we happened upon it. Make sure to also hit their bakery, which is just next door. French style pastries that are mind-blowing. 💯 amazing. Can’t wait to go back next time we visit the area. Just wow.
Twelvemonth has the best ambiance of any restaurant on the Peninsula and even in SF. It’s a beautiful setting that feels comfortable and upscale. The food is so good and I end up eating things I’ve never tried and loving them every time! This is my go-to spot to impress people- if I’m assigned to find the place for a friends night out or work dinner, I always come here since it is consistently impressive!
This is a fine dining vegan/vegetarian restaurant. We ordered pear pressure, pineapple chili soda, 1908, radical guava cider, corn bread, warm pretzel, crispy maitake mushrooms, green bean casserole, strozzapreti, stone curry fruit and tamales. The drinks were all great! The corn bread requires a special mention. It tasted like a buttery smoky corn-on-cob! I would also highly recommend ordering the maitake mushrooms and the stone fruit curry. The tamales were not the best, and a bit dry. The staff was polite and helpful and the ambience was good too. I would recommend visiting this place for sure!
Twelvemonth is an absolute gem! Beautiful atmosphere, outstanding food, and truly warm, attentive service. Every detail is thoughtfully done, making the experience feel special from start to finish. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!
Four of us had a night out at Twelvemonth. Personally, my expectations weren't too high as I read reviews that dinners left hungry or the food wasn't what they expected. We all thoroughly enjoyed everything! The food was well flavored, hot when it needed to be, and well thought out. The service was attentive. Ambiance top notch. We had the rolls, crispy mushrooms, minty peas which were all great. For mains that we shared, we had the not paella and the radish cakes. Surprisingly for me, the radish cakes were my favorite. Definitely recommend Twelvemonth.
The food and drinks here were so good, that I made a reservation for the following week before we even left! There are so many flavors that you'd never think of combining that somehow work amazingly well. The ingredients taste very fresh too. I HIGHLY recommend the rolls and the charred snap peas. The outdoor space is warm, beautiful and pet friendly. This is our new favorite local restaurant!
Hosted a 2nd Baby Shower within 6 months here and it was just as consistent in service, quality of food and atmosphere. Everything was perfect. Worked with Bob-Owner, Alberto- Manager and Hannah- main server for our tables. Had experienced a minor "glitch" in the reservation plans which is to be expected for a party of our size but Twelvemonth Owner, "Bob" was quick to resolve and accommodate all of our needs and was so pleasant (as with his entire staff!!!). Our guests for both events were impressed by this wonderful establishment and were pleased to know we had planned on hosting another event so soon. Hannah was amazing working our party and never missed a beat. She kept in touch with me to be sure everything was going well. Bob is somebody who truly takes pride in his business and wants to ensure his customers are satisfied and happy. Alberto was super easy to work with in the planning and took out alot of guesswork and stress for me. If you're looking to visit Twelvemonth for a casual dining experience or to host an event, please consider this place. I knew I was in great hands from start to finish. Service was EXCELLENT from start to finish. The food was great with the only exception to the 2 desserts, the seasonal cobbler which came out cold and hard and the malasadas which were a bit dry but could be it was the seasonal pumpkin dessert. But then again, those 2 were minor considering the OVERALL WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE we all had. The menu is geared towards healthy eating and there wasn't one bad dish. I have never really been a repeat customer especially for hosting parties at the same place but I was so happy with the first time that I wanted to return and I had no regrets. Twelvemonth reached and went beyond my expectations. Thank you again to Twelvemonth for making sure our guests were taken care of. You all were FABULOUS!
One amazing place! Loved the dumplings, chicken sliders and the sunchoke curry. Sunchoke curry is like green curry with an elevated taste! Atmopshere is very pretty perfect for fine dining!
Twelvemonth is an absolute gem in downtown Burlingame. This restaurant is revolutionizing the plant-based food scene with its innovative, delicious, and satisfying cuisine. Each dish is a testament to the culinary team's commitment to the finest, freshest ingredients, and their ability to transform them into tantalizing delights. Standout dishes include the crispy maittake mushrooms and radhish cake — both packing a punch of flavor, texture, and complexity. I don’t drink and I was also impressed by the innovative non-alcoholic cocktails. The Cara Cara Creamcicle was my favorite! The ambiance is warm and inviting with chic, modern decor that complements the forward-thinking menu. The staff at Twelvemonth is friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, creating a dining experience that feels both casual and luxurious. Whether you're a dedicated plant-based eater or just interested in trying something new and delicious, Twelvemonth offers a dining experience that is as enjoyable as it is impactful. From the stellar service to the inventive and delectable dishes, this restaurant is truly a five-star experience. Don't miss the chance to visit Twelvemonth, a shining star in Burlingame's dining scene.
Stunning restaurant with gorgeous interiors and a really nice outdoor patio! We went here for a special occasion and were really impressed with the food, ambiance, and service! Our part of four got 4 appetizers, 4 entrees, a salad and a couple of desserts. The appetizers were all delicious- possibly the highlight of our meal! The entrees were also really good- they were all unique and really flavorful. The gnocchi was a tad bit chewy but tasty nonetheless. Our personal favorites were the crispy maitake mushrooms, ceviche, scialatielli, and the potted pudding. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and will definitely be coming back.
We came here just to get a drink and dessert. We sat in the bar and had an absolutely wonderful time! The atmosphere is super chic and inviting, the bar stools are very comfortable, and the service was friendly and attentive. The cocktail we ordered was very good but the mocktail we ordered (the creamsicle) was one of the best mocktails we've ever had! Highly, highly recommend. The peanuts are also the perfect bar snack and the malasadas and brownie batter are phenomenal. The whole experience was perfect, and we look forward to coming back!!!
Our family loves going to Twelvemonth for all types of occasions. My 7 year old meat eater cannot get enough of the crispy maitaki mushrooms, dumplings and sliders (don't tell him they're all vegan). And my husband and I regularly stop by cocktails after a long week. It's a beautiful space to enjoy good food and drinks, we love it.
I'm super excited about a fancy planted base place close to San Francisco, me and my husband will come back for sure! The food is great and very creative. They can improve the drink menu, the drink I ordered have a nice presentation but the taste was just ok and there wasn't much variety of cocktails. I know they have a bakery but unfortunately they don't open on Sundays which is my day off.
This place is gorgeous and FANTASTIC. Me and my mom have been wanting to try this place since we saw the construction of it during our walks. Once we got reservations we were a little bit sceptic since both of us are carnivores and we’re worried about how plant based food would taste. Everything we had was delicious and flavorful. From the Parker house rolls to the Japanese curry. Our waiter James was great explained everything perfectly and made us feel extremely welcomed. I seriously recommend trying this place out of you can get reservations you won’t be disappointed.
Wow! I rushed to make a reservation for one of the soft opening spots and I'm so glad we did. Everything we had was outstanding but the stand outs were the radish cakes and the two mocktails we had. Thank you for putting effort into the beverages for those of us driving home. The space is absolutely gorgeous as well, we loved the green tiling. We didn't have space for two desserts so we will have to be back for the fried cookie dough!
I loved every single dish I had at Twelvemonth! I am happy to find a new place with an awesome ambiance, amazing interior design, great service, and delicious innovative food. As I long term vegan, chef, and wellness coach myself, I could not be more happier for Twelvemonth to open right in my neighborhood. I really love the new elevated spin on so many traditional meals. I grew up eating borscht in Ukraine a lot, and was pleasantly surprised how Twelvemonth made this dish so unique and new, that now I go there sometimes just for the borscht. I loved the paella and radish cakes a lot too. I also had a lovely experience with the hospitality team. One of the guests for my dinner party was on a strict cleanse, and I asked if it would be possible to accommodate her dietary restrictions. The team was very attentive and responsive, and they made her a special salad with all the requested ingredients in it. Thank you Twelvemonth for being an awesome neighborhood destination restaurant!
We first came through the back side of Twelvemonth not expecting it to be as large of a restaurant as it is. The interior is intricately designed. Looks beautiful! The food was great too! Had a really enjoyable birthday celebration here. The only dish I didn’t like was the savory creme brûlée. To me, the creativity was on point but didn’t translate in terms of flavor profile. Everything else was really good!! The no paella, pear curry, mushroom karaage, swuasand malasadas were favorites!
I was in town for work and had a rare night off and decided to treat myself to the chefs table tasting menu. Ignore all the ignoramus comments about portions and timings, they clearly don't understand how this sort of thing works. Yes, the portions were smaller and the pace slower but that's the whole point. I enjoyed 5/7 of the courses and it was all so flavorful and wonderful. Sitting up at the bar was like watching a calm version of Top Chef. Yes I would have swapped out or moved a few courses around, but overall I'm so glad I did the tasting menu because it forced me to try dishes I wouldn't have picked on my own. They catered beautifully to my celiac disease and I got to relax and enjoy a delicious meal. The restaurant is in an old converted fire station and is so sumptuous, almost feels like old Hollywood. If you're in town, I highly recommend giving this place a try, you won't be disappointed.
If you’re looking for a beautiful dining experience that’s both elegant and welcoming, Twelvemonth is a must-visit! The atmosphere is truly stunning with its high ceilings and thoughtfully designed space that feels expansive yet intimate – perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or a special date night. The staff here are fantastic – proactive, friendly, and always ready to make your dining experience memorable. And for those like me who are excited about plant-based menus, Twelvemonth does not disappoint. I highly recommend starting with the ceviche – it’s a must-have! While the portion is small, it’s perfect for sharing between two people. For the main course, I had the carrot curry, which was absolutely divine – rich in flavor and so satisfying. Another perk? It’s incredibly easy to find street parking nearby, and after 6 PM, parking is free, which makes the whole experience even more convenient. All in all, Twelvemonth is a gem for anyone who loves good food and a great atmosphere. Can’t wait to visit again!
This is my favorite vegan restaurant — both for the food and the ambience. I’ve brought many friends here, and everyone is amazed at how delicious vegan food can be. It really opens people’s minds! The atmosphere is pleasant and elegant, with high ceilings and enough space between tables so it never feels noisy. The bar area has a different vibe — lively and great for an evening hangout. Truly one of the most beautiful restaurants in the Bay Area.
Better service than other high-end vegan restaurants and better creativity. That makes Twelvemonth my favorite fancy restaurant in the Bay. Usually, I have strong favorites, but everything here was so good that I genuinely couldn't pick my favorite main dish. For large plates, I recommend the Radish Cake, Japanese Curry, and Paella in no specific order. The portions on these large plates were great! I had a lot of leftovers. The Coconut Rice Pudding for dessert was very delicate, I loved the acidity of the grapefruit with the creamy coconut. The coconut wasn't masked with sugar like a lot of rice puddings. The service here was immaculate. The restaurant is also family friendly, and groups with kids seemed to be seated in the same area. There was an entirely separate and large area with more of an adult/bar vibe, too. Be aware that almost everyone who walks into the bathroom gets confused because the sink area is gender neutral, but then you have to enter separate man/woman restrooms from that area. It makes people think they've gone into the wrong bathroom, and people look flustered, then apologize and leave. But it's the correct bathroom. That happened 3 times while I was there..
I was very excited to see a really fancy fully vegan fine dining restaurant in the bay area as they are not exactly common here. The restaurant has a gorgeous interior with attention to detail. All of the staff are friendly and competent. I really appreciate the good communication between the staff and the customers. The food was actually phenomenal. The corn bread was light and indulgent, the soft serve was perfectly smooth, and the mushrooms were fried to perfection without being too greasy. Some of the dishes had more subtle flavors but still stood out. I much prefer this type of fine dining to other places. Their desserts and pastries are on point. Would definitely recommend for any celebrations, family gatherings, or just a pleasant evening in general. You can tell that a lot of love and passion went into this restaurant and it deserves to be very successful.
Visit 1 - Upscale vegan restaurant with a great ambience. The food portions are small, but lots of good variety and a perfect place for a celebration. The place is on the expensive side, we spent ~150 for 3 people. They also have a bakery that serves cookies and you can preorder a cake. Visit 2 - Sept 2024 Celebrated a special occasion, and loved the upgrades. The menu has changed, the food is better and the taste is amazing. Some of my favorite desserts were sold out, but the food/ambience/experience was top notch. Pics from visit two.
I love this place. stumbled across it and enjoyed my horchata, maitake mushrooms, pear cobbler and birthday soft serve! The service from Tony was amazing. great attitude, professional and kind. atmosphere was so calm and romantic as well. I enjoyed my lil self:) thank you Twelthmonth and Tony!
There is something magical about stepping into a restaurant that is intimate and grand at the same time. Every single detail has been well thought out and the overall feeling is pure beauty. It was humming with a busy vibe of fun and celebration and the staff is warm and welcoming and very attentive. We had the Chef's menu with wine pairing and the many delicious bites added up to plenty of food for me and my hungry companion. I am not vegan and was surprised how delicious every course was. I especially loved the "ceviche" which was made with mushrooms. The dessert was so good we ordered an extra! I highly recommend this for date night, family dinners or dinner with girlfriends.
Loved all the things we ordered! The melon gazpacho was refreshing. I wasn't sure what to expect from the gazpacho but it didn't disappoint. The charred cabbage salad was really good and had a subtle but evident beautiful roasted eggplant flavor in the dressing. The ceviche was wonderfully done. The presentation of the food was nice as well.
My favorite vegan restaurant in the Bay Area. Whether you want to go out on a special date night occasion, or grab a few bites to eat and some delicious cocktails with your friends or just to enjoy delicious vegan fresh food. This is the place for you. I would top of this along with wild seed as my favorite vegan restaurants in the bay and I am a long time vegetarian shout out to the restaurant manager, Kevin, who always gives wonderful suggestions and has the best customer service. My partner is not a vegan, but highly enjoys the meals here and the wonderful customer service. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.
Just came back from a book club lunch with the ladies and every time I walk into the Twelvemonth space, I am floored. The owners and team did an incredible job with the entire space, putting so much thought in design, ambiance and sustainability. We all ordered craft cocktails that were as gorgeous as they were delicious - meticulously prepared, high quality, fresh, balanced and refreshing. I had to slow down my sips and remember I had pick up to go to afterward. Finally the food, we were fortunate enough to eat some star favorites as well as taste samples from the new menu! The Bean Stew is a classic favorite of mine, the Autumn Chop Salad was licked clean, the new Truffle Ravioli was basically our dessert until I came across the Lumpia Shanghai that took me back to my childhood! Is it just me or did their fermented sweet chili sauce taste like the banana ketchup of my youth?? Anyway, service was great and the owner, Bob, made a point to come by. It’s clear this is his happy place and he cares greatly about his purpose and what makes it on the plate. The presentation alone - stunning! As someone who partakes in meat, I highly recommend coming here and enjoying the experience. You’ll be taken care of.
I’ve never been so happy to get dessert! Gluten free cobbler! I have not been able to have a cobbler in 10 years since my allergies started! The tamales and the beets were the best out of everything I tried! Lots of gluten free options! Server very attentive, they were busy do make a reservation.
OMG!!! I can’t believe that my husband and I had not found this Vegan gem 💎!!!!! Wonderful service from our waitress to the bar…. Bella, such an amazing attitude and well mannered. Nasim who brought our water, very friendly!!! Nikola , most delicious cocktails I have ever had…. Loma verde and Trufa Del Sol….perfection!!!! Kevin, the manager… we enjoyed watching him being so attentive and walking around talking to everyone at their tables and helping the staff. Truly leading by example. Gave us the best advice on when to come back for the chefs tasting menu. Helped my husband pick the best pastries!!!! Overall Michelin star ⭐️… that’s my opinion 😉
Met a friend here for lunch. Vegan restaurant with a good number of options. We forgot to take food pictures, but the presentation of both our our dishes and drinks were nice. I ordered the Korean fried “chicken” sandwich - definitely recommend. She ordered the Twelvemonth salad - recommended. I can’t remember the name of our cocktails, but they were delicious flavors and well presented. The building is decorated with a cute touch and gave a really comfy and happy, relaxing vibe. Service was great, with the balance of attentive, but not overbearing.
I had never been to a vegan restaurant before but was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was at this restaurant. They are very creative in making vegan dishes flavorful, delicious, and healthy. I was very impressed! The drinks and desserts were very good as well. Staff were all friendly and courteous. The women’s and men’s bathrooms, which are tastefully decorated, shared the sinks and surprised some people when they walked in thinking they went to the wrong bathroom. I would definitely want to return and bring my family who are not vegans for this unique experience.
What a place! Beautiful interior design and a lovely outdoor patio with a hidden garden right in downtown Burlingame. The food is excellent and always seasonal, the cocktails are beautifully crafted, and the service is attentive and professional. A true highlight is the Chef’s tasting menu, available for dinner only—five courses that can be paired with their wine or cocktail selection and are highly recommended. We’ll definitely be back soon!
We love Twelvemonth. They change their menu regularly, so it’s always a pleasure to come back and discover new seasonal dishes, while still enjoying their classic favorites available throughout the year. Our go-tos are the fried mushrooms, Twelvemonth sliders, and the charred cabbage salad, along with their carefully curated wine-by-the-glass selection. They’ve recently introduced a luxury wine list, featuring premium wines served by the glass, which is a fantastic addition. The cocktail list is excellent, and the non-alcoholic offerings are just as thoughtful, with several zero-proof cocktails and house-made lemonades. Overall, it’s a great neighborhood restaurant with outstanding food and service. Keep up the great work, Twelvemonth!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Wonderful Dinner at TwelthMonth! I had a wonderful time at TwelthMonth! The food was excellent and the service phenomenal — our waiter was truly outstanding. The elderflower drink was incredible, such a refreshing start to the meal. The dumplings were amazing, the lumpia was okay, but the mushrooms were absolutely delicious! For the main dish, the risotto was perfection — rich, creamy, and full of flavor. And dessert was the perfect ending: the cake with matcha ice cream was amazing, followed by a comforting chai latte to close out the evening. Everything about the experience was thoughtful and beautifully done. Highly recommend!
My husband’s perfect choice. Such a cute place. And the food is vegetarian/vegan. I would visit this restaurant anytime. Very good food and great atmosphere. Second time in San Francisco and I just cannot miss this place. I added few new delicious meals.
I have been to Twelvemonth 3 times within the past 3 years. Each time the service, food and overall atmosphere have been exquisite. My first server was Michael and he was fantastic. The second time I went, my server was Andreas, and he was wonderful too. The most recent time I went, Saturday, December 6, 2025, my server was Clara, and she was AMAZING as well! She was super friendly and an overall joy to have as a server. On this most recent visit I had a classic favorite, Crispy Maitake Mushrooms. They were so good, as usual, that I forgot to take a photo before there was only one piece left, haha! I also tried the Eggplant Parmesan Sliders and the Dumplings. Dumplings were delicious, and very flavorful. The Eggplant Parmesan sliders were DELIGHTFUL. So good! For dessert, I had Hot Chocolate, Potted Pudding, and the Tahini Cake. Hot Chocolate = 10/10. Potted Pudding = 13/10. Tahini Cake = 9/10. This is one of my absolute go-to Vegan restaurants in this area and I highly recommend it to all my family and friends. See you next time, Twelvemonth!
Great ambience and really good food. Sunchoke curry was delicious, really good Korean bbq sliders but ramen was very average. Service was quick and staff were polite. Overall highly recommend especially if looking for a slightly fancy dinner for special occasions. Staff was kind enough to provide us a little dessert to celebrate our special day.
Why am I just learning about this place! The food is some of the best vegan food I've had in a long time. I got the dumplings, Korean sliders and the tots with soyriso and everything about it was delicious! All plant based vegan and they have some gluten free options too. I am definitely coming back to try more things.
I'm not vegan but am always open to trying new restaurants and also eating more plant -based food, and this place has wonderful views, so we decided to check it out. I'm so glad we did! Everything was absolutely delicious, the ambiance was lovely, and the service was great.
Fantastic flavors and presentations at Twelvemonth! We went for a family dinner on a Friday night and the place was hopping. Every dish was really quite tasty, especially the tamales. Good cocktail and mocktail menu, and good selection of wines and beers. Update: The al Pastor tacos were phenomenal, definitely recommended! The space is beautiful too, with high ceilings, lots of space, and a gorgeous outside area with tons of seating. The entire menu is plant-based and vegan, which made the vegans amongst us ecstatic of course. But then the omnivores were happy too because it's just really tasty food! Can't wait to try the prix fix tasting menu, but one of us didn't want it, and it requires full table participation. Next time then.
Good service, staff is attentive and atmosphere is beautiful and quiet. We went on a weeknight. I love the Radiatori and crispy mushrooms. Curry was just okay though. Kids liked the Mac and cheese (not pictured), not so much grill cheese and fruits that came with as it was tart.
Twelvemonth is a fantastic vegan restaurant with thoughtfully prepared dishes and balanced flavors. The ambiance is warm and inviting—would love to come back.
Delicious cocktails. We only had drinks at the bar. As a designer I was more focused on the construction & finishes of this place. Beautifully crafted bar & restaurant using sustainable natural materials. Love the art deco vibes!!
Delicious and healthy vegan food with great services and ambience. Everything was delicious but in small portions.
I’m not vegan and don’t normally eat vegan food, but Twelvemonth completely blew me away! We ordered two pre-fixes ($80 each for 4 courses) and went family-style so we could try it all. Here’s what we had: • Summer Solstice Salad • Mushroom Ceviche • Savory Crème Brûlée (fav!) taste like fall, pumpkin and spices • Charred Avocado • Corn Gnudi (fav!) - if you are a corn lover, you’ll love this • Stone Fruit Curry (fav!) - the perf kick, it’s like Thai curry • Tahini Cake with matcha ice cream • Nectarine & Raspberry Cobbler Drinks: • Sakura Blossom cocktail • Perfect Dirty Martini The space is beautiful, airy and modern inside with a dreamy outdoor patio and the service was amazing!

One of the best restaurants in the Bay Area, hands down! The space is beautiful and spacious. And the creations are spectacular and I love how the menu rotates seasonally along with a few staples. Some of my favorites are the bean stew, Iacopi Farms Italian butter beans, Korean brassica salad, and the Twelvemonth salad. You can't go wrong with any of the selections. It's a great place for date night or any kind of celebration.
Twelvemonth is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in the Bay Area. First of all, the space is stunning. The restaurant is huge, beautifully designed, and has such an elevated yet welcoming vibe. They even have a separate bar room and a bakery with different hours (definitely check their website before you go!). The food is seriously delicious. They rotate their menu periodically, which keeps things exciting — but I truly hope they always keep their most popular items because those are what keep customers coming back. My personal favorites are the dumplings, the Impossible sliders, and the fried crispy mushrooms. Every dish is flavorful, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. And I can’t forget the drinks — they’re just as amazing as the food. Thoughtfully crafted, refreshing, and the perfect complement to the meal. The service is great too, which makes the whole experience even better!
The food here is very good. The service is very attentive, almost too much. And it did get a little loud, but in general I would highly recommend checking this place out. The cabbage salad was my very favorite and the mushrooms are incredible. That dessert, the rice pudding is also yummy. I would probably pass on the bread as it was stale.
Two of us had the $75 chef's tasting menu plus a wine pairing. Things got off to a great start with a tiny devilled egg as an amuse bouche which burst with flavor (a little odd for a plant-based establishment, though) - after that, things weren't quite as good. Everything was competently done; some of it was quite tasty - but more of "that's interesting" rather than "wow", with a slight tendency towards chewy. Timing was a little off: the first 3 courses arrived very quickly - before we'd finished the last one - and then there was a very long wait for the agnolotti, which were at best lukewarm. We had two servers; the first was so-so (e.g., he forgot to give us the tasting menu list); the second was amazing, and almost made up for the first. Sparkling or still water is included in the tasting menu. The $45 wine pairings were pretty good, although the two salad dishes were served together as one course, so we were expecting one more glass of wine, given the initial description from server #1. (We could have seen this if we'd had the menu to follow along with.) The venue is a striking, tall, remodelled barn-like building, with a fun buzz from the fellow diners. (There's a separate bar next door.) The temperature was a bit cool, though - and there were drafts when the doors opened. It seemed accessible. The bathrooms are worth a look, if only for the amazing marble washbasin centerpiece. We were glad we tried the place, and might well come back - but probably not for a while.
Five stars for ambiance This restaurant is beautiful! High ceilings, indoor trees, bistro lights, pretty tile, custom wine glasses, inlaid wood tables…it was a treat to eat someplace so intentional. Four stars for food The bread was warm but a little boring, though the seasoned butters helped. The savory crème brûlée was quite fun with a sweet top, tomato bisque style custard, with traces of lavender and citrus. The campanelle tasted low brow to me, it reminded me of cheap nacho cheese complete with peppers. The fried cookie dough was warm and gooey, but needed some salt. The portion sizing was all over the place, with small bread, tiny crème brûlée, large pasta, and tiny cookie dough dessert. I had the strawberry cream soda which was a little disappointing because while the strawberry flavor was great, it had no cream elements at all. Nothing like real cream soda, or a strawberries with cream dessert. It was more like lemonade. Three stars for service The servers alternately ignored us for long stretches, and hovered awkwardly. It was hard to get the check, and dishes took quite a long time to come out of the kitchen even though the restaurant was not full.
I came here for dinner and drinks with friends. Their food is more vegetarian and vegan when they first opened. I think they change their menu now to add more options from time to time. It has a nice vibe for group and family gatherings. The food was fresh and flavorful. They are located in downtown Burlingame so it’s great location for hanging out and walking around. They have a large outdoor patio, enclosed restaurant and a separate area for the bar if you want to come for drinks. I did this another time on a separate visit with my husband on a date night to come for a night cap. They have interesting collection of cocktails and mocktails. It was a comfortable atmosphere with its own unique pieces of furniture and alchemy science type vials at the bar if you look up at the alcohol bottles while sitting at the bar.
Beautiful location with gorgeous ambiance. Worth checking out for the facilities alone. Food is all of very high quality, we came for brunch. Bakehouse makes a ton of lovely pastries. Forma in Oakland still has the best vegan croissant in the Bay but it'snot all vegan like it is here! It's well worth a visit or few, we will be back!
I would happily give this place 5 stars based on the food, service and atmosphere. A few more reasons in fact. However, I had to knock one star off for the prices of the all vegan dishes in the menu. Seriously, a vegan meal for two with two glasses of Tempranillo red wine, even if it's technically five fairly light courses, is just way too expensive at $240 post tip ($200 pre). I would have been pretty happy with a 5 star rating at $120 for the two meals + $30 for the wine glasses. Still, a very solid experience with great service, very good tasting food (although no selection options, as this was the chef's menu, and it had two corn based dishes built in) and great atmosphere and accommodating staff. We will come back, for sure, just not as often as we'd have liked to given the cost of a visit. Thank you.
Bar and main dining are Gatsby inspired and gorgeous. The mushroom starter was the best plate we ordered. Crispy well seasoned trumpet mushrooms. The beet salad was decent but not any different than what we have all already tasted. Disappointed in the corn gnudi. Because they used masa, they were not fluffy pillows, which is what I expect of gnudi. They were dry and heavy. They arrived in a corn sauce that saved the dish. Overall a great experience, I’m very picky when it comes to vegan. I’m spoiled by ABCv in NYC and PLANTA in Miami. Big shoes to fill.
So my daughter, hubby and I didn’t feel too good after eating here! My man had gas, daughter was nauseous and I became bloated. I give it a 4 because food was okay, different tasting, clean and creative! The service was excellent from the hostess to the bakery and the waiter! Even other employees were so attentive and helpful! I enjoyed it so much and the atmosphere is amazing! It could have been something we ate before but I did have a meeting at this location which I did not attend but I would come back eventually for the bakery and salad! The salad was so good! Btw healthy food will and can upset the stomach so don’t blame the restaurant. It takes a bit for the gut to clean through. I hope my review doesn’t give you a negative vibe I’m just being honest for us people that love meat/dairy but know we should stop. Take baby steps because it’s a huge change! Thank you to everyone who works at the place for being awesome!
Beautiful place, my first time was diner & I was impressed, second time for brunch was just ok. For a place like this to use impossible products instead of making their own is disappointing. Could have used oyster mushrooms for chx. Bolognese pasta was just meh. Potstickers were our favorite
We came in for quick drinks and loved the vibes - beautiful space and holiday decorations! The staff were very kind and helpful, the drinks were amazing. But the only thing was the service was pretty slow and it was difficult for us to track down a server to order. We waited 30+ minutes before we could put our orders in and we had to leave shortly after because we were queued at another spot for dinner. Will be down to try again another time though! Curious about their dinner menu
Love the all vegan concept - we need more of such restaurants! Food was new and innovative with world options/fusions. The menu though is very heavy on mushroom which concerned my wife who does not like mushrooms. Desserts are yum!

The decor is beautiful! Service is great. They are very welcoming. Our waiters were very polite and kind! Great vibe and decor and very friendly! Their menu has a good variety for a vegan place. They took a lot of effort to make the dishes sound amazing, although they ran out of ravioli on a Friday evening at 7.30 pm during holiday season! Food was overall good. The dumplings were great! But I have no idea why their portion size is extremely small! Their entree is usually between $25-$50. And blink it’s GONE!

I really wanted this place to be 5 stars. It’s the freshest spot to hit the peninsula for a long while in my opinion. However many things leave a lot to be desired. 1/ the cocktails are weak. Up the price if need be but don’t be stingy! 2/ the service is chaotic. Several different people coming by not knowing we had already been served. Food came out all at once instead of in a decent order timed properly. The bartender never filled my order for a beer. 3/ the bread just seems like Hawaiian rolls you but at Safeway. Could improve — freshly baked, unique type perhaps? 4/ the food was a solid 4/5 stars. Carrot curry and campanelle were good. The cabbage salad left more to be desired.
Loved the vibe and inside decor. It’s a really cool looking design place and feels like an upscale night out. But as others have said the food leaves a lot to be desired. The rolls and butter are the only thing I really enjoyed and that’s saying something as I’d been waiting for months for this place to open. Been vegetarian for years and wanted this to be the spot to go. But you will understand when you try. The food is complicated for the sake of being complicated. Want mac and cheese not possible. Maybe some curry? How about curry stuffed and filled with flavors that don’t match or make sense. Pasta But with almost inedible things mixed in. The salad is god awful and the waitress was warning us before we tried it. Was hoping for a vegan spot that would pull off amazing versions of dishes we love but they are going for Michelin starts instead of edible meals. If that’s your thing you will enjoy this. Take great photos of food but nothing made me want to go back or try again which was the biggest bummer. Maybe when they simplify and offer a umm vegan burger or rice bowl I’d go back. You should give it a shot and see how you feel and I’ll always love places that are plant based but the price, food and menu make this a once a year visit.
We were delighted for the first 20 minutes of our dining exterior, and then it went downhill. The food was wonderful, and loved the variety and freshness of the dishes. Drinks were also good. Favorite dishes included bean stew, crispy maitake mushrooms, Parker rolls, and malasadas. However, the pacing of the courses and service was poor. It seemed like our waitress was overwhelmed as she had no time to check on us, while at the same time - there were plenty of other food runners who were standing around. It took a long time between courses, flag someone to get a menu for desserts, asking 3 times to pack the parker rolls, and pay the bill. It took us ~90 min to dine (2 adults + 1 child), for a 5:45pm reservation, of which 50min were waiting. Hopefully the service/pacing gets resolved (or maybe this was just a bad day). The food was good enough to try again though.
I appreciate the vegan restaurant and bakery as it makes it easier for me to relax and enjoy food. Picked up 2 cranberry orange muffins, 1 twelve month rolls (which they are famous for), and a pumpkin spice oat latte — I must say the twelve month rolls were okay, kind of missing something like a sauce or something and not what I’d buy again for $10. However the cranberry orange muffins were DELICIOUS and what I would buy again for the $5. The pumpkin spice oat latte was alright - they did share that they use real pumpkin purée so I wanted to try it but it was alright - not something I would get again either. **Overall I would recommend the cranberry orange muffin from their bakery.** The night before I enjoyed dinner at Twelvemonth as well and out of everything we tried - I would recommend the **creamy tagliatelle pasta** and the **apple pie dessert**. Everything else (fried mushrooms, potato appetizer, the not paella, the Japanese curry — were all decent but not items my table would get again) Overall for the price I expected MORE but I appreciate that they are open to feedback and improvements per the owner's response :) Update: I tried their $8 curry cauliflower bun today (see videos). It was flavorful and different than any other bun I’ve had before but it was a nice savory flavor. $8 is still a bit much for this though
The vibe of this place with its ambiance and service was great. They were always around and asking how we were doing and checkin in. We had the opportunity to try their 2026 Valentine’s day tasting menu and it was good to an extent. The appetizers started out amazing and was the highlight of the night, but flavor started falling off throughout the course. At the end for example we were served Japanese curry with rice, and it was some of the most simple and bland tasting dishes I’ve ever tried from a tasting menu. I was extremely disappointed and hope their menu turns out better in the future as Vegan food can be a lot more than bland and vegetables. For the value they charge, I would instead go somewhere else such as Greens or even Millenium in Oakland. Unfortunate, considering this is one of the few fully vegan restaurants in this area.
Food is not bad. Prices flippant. Service is trash. For a slow evening with three bartenders, it was a painful and offensive 7-10 min wait before I asked what I wanted and then rushed. Ordered an $18 specialty craft cocktail… only for it to be unwrapped from the plastic wrap and an old orange attached to the glass—which had kale on it. The fruit in the cocktail was rotten, and there was plastic wrap still attached to the cup. Ordered something bottled, it was great, but sadly the bartenders did not check in once during the entire meal— of course, not until it was time to get the money. My cost for 1 with 20% was $140.00+ Will I return, maybe, but will be prepared to ask for leadership to help me instead of the three kids behind the bar. The place is beautiful but this experience tarnished every aspect of it.
Unfortunately Google rating system does not include value/cost ranking because if there were it could have made my life easier. The restaurant is well designed, you enter into a pub with indoor dining area in the back and additional outdoor dining area. It’s clear someone spend money on the place starting from the hardwood, the open kitchen and the furniture. The service was great, the waitress was nice and patient and did her best to serve us. As we sat, we received jar with cold water and a jar with club soda. We were 4 and we tried various dishes. The consensus was that the food is “decent” but the portions are small (the dumplings were marked high on taste). I tend to order in restaurants I don’t know a dish which I’m familiar with from other restaurants and the rest of the dinners who are vegan range from conservative to adventurous in that aspect. I order the falafel plate which priced as $26. I can’t say it was bad but it included 5 falafel balls, dip of Humus, dip of Tahini, small pile of pickled vegetable, 2-3 branch of green and 6-7 triangles of roasted pita - from the type that it’s hard to “open”. I can’t say it’s was bad but I was still hungry when we left. For comparison, I can buy 3 falafel big pitas filled with falafel, Israeli vegetable salad, humus, Tahini and free pickles for around that price yet the scenery would not be as beautiful but from my perspective- the main issue is the food and not the scenery (which one of the diners tagged as “hipster”). Bottom line: The restaurant does not provide good value for the money.if you’re hungry, avoid this place.
The place is outstanding, it’s different in another level. You enjoy the atmosphere. They have good starters and appetizers, but definitely the main dishes aren’t their thing. Also the drinks weren’t the best, they are minute. I would come back for one drink and appetizers but not for a dinner.
Twelvemonth offers great ambience and top-notch service. It paints the perfect picture of a Sunday lunch with friends in a fine-dining somewhat mid-century inspired setting. The restaurant is roomy with indoor and outdoor settings as well as two entirely separate annexes featuring a full-service bar and a bakery. Note that I did not visit either and that the rest of this review speaks only to the food at the restaurant. While twelvemonth has all the makings to be a fine-dining experience, making some improvements to the current menu is critical. The food is inconsistent and some of the dishes need work. We ordered the Brassica Salad, the Totchos, the Sunchoke Curry, and the Tacos al Pastor. The Sunchoke Curry was good. The veggies were beautifully cooked and the sauce was delicious. I would have expected more tofu in there but I won’t hold it against them: times are tough. The curry base itself was poured in from a sauce boat at the table to enhance the dining experience: not unfamiliar if you’ve dined enough, but, in my opinion, ill-placed. Having the veggies and tofu simmer in the sauce is part of what makes a Thai curry a curry, granted the choice of vegetables made this less critical. The tacos were fantastic and I’d definitely recommend eating them. The soy curls were beautifully cooked and the sauce was flavorful. A few more veggies on there would have made them the perfect dish! The Brassica salad is not good. It is a small pile of steamed vegetables with an imitation Sriracha sauce. The Brussel sprouts in there were great and maybe making it a Brussel salad would fix it. The tots in the totchos were flavorless and fell apart when trying to eat them. They were however loaded with a nice medley of flavors which made them passable. Twelvemonth feels like it’s straight out of Architect’s Digest but I’d love to see the food hit the spot too. At their prices, I’d expect food that is nothing short of exceptional. Would I be willing to revisit and try other items on the menu another time? Not quite— the prices and inconsistency I observed make me wary and uncertain of how to experience their best without regret.
I am very impressed by its food and restaurant environment. My overall review is low because of its inconsistent service quality. For context, my wife and I have been there 6 times or more over the past 1.5 years. I treated it as a top 3 place for special occasions, so I don't mind spending more-than-usual money when visiting Twelvemonth. Since my expectations were high, 2 bad experiences are enough to keep me away from going there for at least a year. Details below. 1) The food is great (4.8 to 5.0) I love their food, and appreciate the thoughts and efforts in making those creative & delicious vegan foods. I like many dishes: Roasted Beets (yogurt sauce is awesome), Crispy Mistake Mushrooms (just fried right), Radiatori (a good combination flavor of spiciness, fresh from basil+pesto + richness from (vegan) ricotta cheese), etc. Among these all my family agree that the Twelvemonth Burger is the best: its impossible patty is cooled pretty well - it is very rich in flavor without feeling too heavy). I am impressed by their sauces (ketchup, yogurt sauce, hummus, pesto) because of their rich and complex flavors without feeling heavy. Another big reason why I like their food is their "vegan cheese" is made/designed to naturally fit the foods - all other vegan places I've been to make me feel they attempt to find dairy replacement. This differentiates Twelvemonth from all other vegan restaurants I have been that provide Western cuisine. I am not impressed by their Asian dishes since they are not made special to me. Btw, the Miso Cake is quite creative and I would love it if it doesn't put as much or remove sesame oil - I didn't expect Miso to be related to deserve but it worked well to me. The sesame oil however doesn't fit to a sweet deserve in my opinions. 2) Atmosphere (5.0) The restaurant environment is awesome. its bathroom is very unique that I can't even describe - when people see it they would know. But I wonder whether they can fix an issue (posted as photo) - right faucet handle can be blocked by the next soap dispenser valve. 3) Service (3.0) deal breaker but easy to fix by the owner Its front desk service is fine. The ordering service is inconsistent. I once experienced a very good ordering service where the waiter nicely shared with me his insights of the dishes, and was willing to take my comments about adding sesame oil into the Miso Cake. There was once another mixed service experience when we were taken care of by a senior & decent person who seems like a manager (very good and professional service) but actually he appeared to cover a disappearing waitress who showed up at the end when delivering my final bill. The other 4 times I experienced a very slow or not-so-care ordering experience where the waitress didn't seem to work hard for me. Especially in the last visit that beat me happened on last Friday at lunch time - there were just 5 ~ 8 tables in the whole restaurant but we sat there for 20 mins without anyone coming to take my order even I asked for help twice. I also could see two waitresses (for taking orders) seemed to chat on the side. What's the most surprising is that when I asked for help to take orders twice, neither of the people I talked to signaled their colleagues to come ...
We were so excited to eat here on our one night layover! The food was mostly quite tasty; and options were interesting (the Korean brassica salad being the one dish of the five we tried that was very lacklustre). However the entire experience was tainted by how poor the service was. It took over 30 minutes to get our drinks, our server never once asked how things were, and was largely absent. We’d have loved to have dessert and an after dinner cocktail but decided to walk to the nearby ice cream place instead because we weren’t sure how long that would take. Beautiful space and tons of potential but disappointing overall.
I was super excited to visit this vegan restaurant in Burlingame as someone with a dairy allergy. The ambience was amazing and the outdoor patio was spacious and inviting. We got the breakfast burrito, tater tots, two oat milk lattes, and Korean fried chicken sliders. The lattes came out cold and the food portions were quite small for the price. The burrito was just okay and the sliders were good but small. I felt like most things could use more flavor. I would definitely give it another try maybe for dinner to see if it is better than the weekend brunch.

The place looks great, nice vibe and cool decor, but the experience didn’t match. We found a hair in our dumpling, and the service was incredibly slow. Took forever to get anyone’s attention. For a place with such a beautiful setting, I expected far better attention to detail and basic hygiene standards. Hopefully, management steps up the service and quality control, because the ambience deserves a kitchen and staff that match its promise.
Love supporting vegan restaurants, but had a poor experience here. Extremely slow service from our waitress, despite the restaurant being mostly empty and having a plethora of food runners, and she also got angry when I didn't like the extremely salty pasta. I understand sending food back is annoying, hence why I refrain from doing it normally, but I was simply unable to finish the meal. Small portions for the price, which is fine and expected considering the location and ambiance, but the taste and service did not make up for it. Shizen, Wildseed, and Om Sabor are all significantly better vegan restaurants in the area. 2 stars because the appetizer was solid.
Went in with high expectations, but disappointed on most fronts. I'm not strictly vegan, but eat a lot of vegan food, so I think I have realistic expectations. Of three main dishes, all of which sounded great on the menu, all were disappointing in different ways. Some insipid, some over-spiced. Appetizers were slightly better, but none of the food was better-tasting than what a moderately competent home chef could prepare, much of it significantly worse. That's surely table-stakes for a restaurant at this price point. Service also disappointing. Made one query of server and one general request first of hostess, then of server. No response to either. Not even a "I'm sorry, we can't do that" or "We don't know." Just nothing, as if we'd never asked. Rarely have I paid a tip with less enthusiasm. Patio space was pleasant, with attractive edible landscaping and a nice greenhouse. But having a dozen smelly methane heaters running at full blast over empty tables on a very mild evening made a mockery of their pretensions at sustainability. I have come to expect the vegan options at omnivore restaurants to be sad afterthoughts, but to get this kind of fare at a supposedly high-end plant-based restaurant is just baffling and depressing.
The ambience was great. Food was very average for the price. We ordered the Truffle Ravioli that arrived 1.5 hours late. The candied peanuts were stale. The bean stew was good and the only thing we could actually enjoy. To begin with, we were able to place our orders 25 min after we were seated. Drinks came another 15 min late. By the time the main course arrived, we were not hungry anymore. We debated much before ordering dessert fearing we'd have to spend the night there. We did end up ordering dessert as we couldn't enjoy the food. I would not go back. I have eaten much better food with much better service and good ambience at several places for the same or lower price.
Really disappointing experience. I booked a birthday dinner reservation for 9 and missed the fine text under terms and conditions that disclosed an $80 per person minimum for large parties. For a restaurant listed in the $30 to $50 range, that is a steep minimum and feels like a way to force large parties into a tasting menu or into ordering an app, salad, main, and dessert per person. When they called to confirm, they made me aware of the minimum and I explained that I had missed the policy on opentable and asked if they could waive the minimum since it was a Wednesday and we barely reached the large party number. Instead, my request was denied and I was informed that I would be charged 10 per person cancellation fee. I then spoke directly with the manager, Albert, hoping to reach some kind of compromise. I even requested if we could move the reservation to Friday so we could get 2 drinks per person to hit the minimum but every single request was refused. The rudest part was when I asked if we could split the party into two smaller groups to circumvent the minimum spend requirement. Albert actually scoffed and suggested that if we did that, he may put us at two opposite ends of the restaurant. That response was unnecessarily dismissive and hostile especially considering their opentable had plenty of availability for the evening. I have been to many restaurants and book for large parties all the time. Managers I interact with are almost always polite, accommodating, and certainly willing to help find a reasonable solution when a customer makes an honest mistake. Here, there was no hospitality at all, only rigid and predatory policy enforcement from a manager who was dismissive and clearly uninterested in helping. Based on this interaction alone, I would not recommend this place for any special occasion.
