Got the mango smoothie and bearclaw, BEST bearclaw EVER absolutely perfect and we were lucky enough to get them fresh. The staff are so sweet and welcoming they're do sweet. The place is super cute, definitely coming back the next chance I get. ❤️❤️
Late review. I love this little bakery, they were not fussy at all when it came to take my order for my wedding cake. I don’t remember the ladies name that helped me, but she was very nice and quick to respond to any of my requests. I loved that they gave BIG slices of cake when it came to the cake tasting. They got the cake to the reception on time and safe, from Cambria to Cayucos. Cake was absolutely delicious and I’ve been back to the bakery on our one year anniversary and the cake is still just as good. :)
Everything looked good there...but only got the cinnamon rolls. They were fantastic.
Great sandwiches and friendly service. Called in one day and the food was so good we came again the next.
Amazing baked goods and desserts. Very fiendly staff. Nice little tables and chairs outside to sit and chat.
Been coming to this French bakery for 3 years now. For over 3 years now my girls and I come up here on a girls trip in the springtime. First thing we go to is the day old bread and pastries always still fresh and delicious coffee is delicious and asked for the heavy cream. Morning Glory muffins are the best muffins by far. The croissants and the cookies are delicious and we always stock up. My only complaint with it being new owners is the music!! All five of us thought the music was very odd for the French bakery atmosphere. Most of the people that live there in Cambria or an older crowd I'm sure they would appreciate a different type of music as well
Truly a corner Bakery. Watched them late in day when they were closed prepping for next day. They are the only ones open early for coffee at 7. Everyone else opens at 7:30 or LATER! GREAT coffee and pastries. Fast service. Small seating area inside and two table patio outside so not really an onsite place if you ask me...more for take away.
What a magnificent little bakery! We had a meatball sub which was fantastic. Meatballs were perfect. Bread was so fresh and perfectly grilled with butter. We also tried three different desserts. Everything was so good! Service was wonderful and quick.
SCRUMPTIOUS CROISSANTS ! My wife and I popped in here around 11am today after breakfast nearby to buy some fresh baked bread. Lovely Sandra at the cashier counter looked after us. I liked the look and sound of the Eight Grain Loaf and bought the last one on the rack. The Ham & Cheese Croissants looked very good so we bought 2 for lunch plus a Spinach, Feta Croissant. Everything on display look very tempting...lots of mini cakes. Oh and our croissants tasted better than good for lunch at around 2pm. Of course we heated them up in the oven for a few minutes. I couldn't believe how much succulent ham was rolled up inside my scumptious Ham & Cheese Croissant....my wife agreed. And the Spinach, Feta Croissant was a winner too ! Can't wait to try the Eight Grain Loaf in the morning. Very good service !
We went into the French Corner Bakery for cappuccino and came out in awe of their pastries. We wish we could sample everything, or, even better, move it to where we live! First off, the bakery offers a wide selection of pastries, some of which are quite unique such as the Russian cookies and almond tea cakes. And they taste so good! Second, people working there are knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Their enthusiasm cheered up our day!
From out of town and was recommended to this place by a local! I had the B.L.T sandwich and it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, definitely recommend this spot if you're passing through.
The FRENCH CORNER BAKERY reminds my wife and me of our lovely honeymoon, 55 years ago, in Acapulco Mexico. Yes, it's called "French," but deliciously prepared, lovingly baked, beautifully presented bakery goods are an international pleasure. There's the fresh baked Mexican Bolillos, a football shaped, pillow soft roll, encased in a crisp crust. (Kinda like a baguette.) The French Corner also bakes a selection of fruit filled sweet rolls, bagels, tortas, pies, tarts, cakes and breads. The staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. In the morning, I have enjoyed conversation with visitors from many countries. Locals tell me, this is their favorite morning stop. Rich expresso and brewed coffee drinks and teas are offered. Sandwiches are made with their fresh multi-grain breads, bolillos and baguettes. We've been coming here for years and strangely enough TheFrench Bakery seems to be getting better. I don't know how this is possible? STUFF: Limited seating, inside and out. Parking in their small lot is free and easy. Everything is wheelchair accessible.
We were walking around downtown Cambria on Main Street and came across this bakery and it was outstanding exclamation.Poi had a slice of tiramisu chevron masu and my wife had a slice of chocolate berry cream cake! Both dishes were outstanding! So glad that we stopped by Here and enjoyed a little dessert!
This is one of the best bakeries I've ever been to. They have decent sweets choice and few different sandwiches. Also they have different bread to sell. The place is very nice, they have a picture of Paris on the wall, and cute furniture. Service is just great: one customer asked if there are bagels but they appeared to run out of bagels; so later on they came and asked if he will be ok with a little toasted bun with cream cheese, free of charge. And they had one more happy customer! The seating space is limited and parking is not big.
This is a great place for a quick breakfast! Lots of delicious treats! I love all their baked goods and the coffee is hot! Not many places to sit and the parking lot is small. I did take my awesome desserts to the Bluffs and eat it overlooking the Ocean.
Possibly the best sandwich I've ever had. Pork torta. Coffee is very good and raspberry lemon cake is fantastic 😋
Excellent Big Sur tuna sandwich. I split it with another person. Nice selection of pastries.

We ordered a ginger scone and it was the best baked good I’ve had in years. Buttery, flaky, and complex in its flavors. Not too sweet - just perfection! Wish I had the recipe.
Perfect spot to grab a sandwich before pretending you’re fancy at Hearst Castle or just trying not to get sand in your lunch at the beach. The staff is friendly and happy to customize your order, which means you can finally live out your dream of asking for “just a smidge less mayo” without judgment. Bathrooms are located outside and require a key—because nothing says quaint bakery charm like walking across the parking lot holding a giant wooden paddle labeled “Restroom.” Speaking of parking, good luck. Consider it your warm-up exercise before carrying sandwiches uphill. Overall, tasty sandwiches, friendly people, and just enough logistical quirks to keep things interesting.
What a wonderful surprise! We love to trythe bakeries when we travel, so found this bakery traveling the coast. It is outstanding! I had an almond croissant that was amazing, subtle flavors, light and flaky. Tried two different scones, also great. Will be back! Highly recommended.
Great stop for pastries and coffee in Cambria. Very tight restaurant, a few tables only inside and outside. But it’s busy! The make barista made us FANTASTIC drinks and was very friendly. Mixed review on the pastries: 1) Croissant: best one I’ve ever had, wow! 2) Cinnamon Roll: a bit dry, tasty for what it is but prefer less cooked. 3) Bran Muffin: cooked perfectly but a little heavy on the spices. Would return for coffee and the butter croissant, perhaps try other pastries but maybe I’ll stick to the “French” specialties next time haha
This place offers fantastic lattes and amazing sandwiches made to order on their own freshly made bread and rolls. Their pastries were also delicious. I especially liked their Mexican concha. I wish I'd tried this place years ago. The staff was perfectly friendly and grateful for our business.

The macaroons as well as the russian tea cookies are delicious!! I came back the next day to order more for the trip back home, the latte we had was also very good. I didn't feel like order from the other pastry dishes because all of them have whipped cream.
A real gem on Main Street. Super friendly staff and good pastries, bread, sandwiches, and coffee bar. Parking is available and seating for max 8 people inside with a few tables and chairs outside when the weather is warm. They take cash, cards, & Apple Pay. If you are intern breakfast and dinner but don’t want to go all in on a big lunch, come by for a quick pastry, sandwich, or coffee.
My wife and I travel to Paso Robles often. Almost monthly, from Orange County. Our routine is to drive from wherever we're staying to this bakery, order a couple of sandwiches, and take them to Harmony Cellars a few miles down Highway One to enjoy with a bottle of their excellent Chardonnay. My wife always orders their pork milanesa, and I always get their veggie sandwich, the "Mother Nature". Of course we also have to get a slice of carrot cake or some other sweet for dessert. The place is always busy, but they have plenty of friendly and efficient help to speed things along. The sandwiches are consistently big and tasty. We love everything they do. It's a favorite of locals and tourists alike, so you know it's good.
Very tasty. The croissant was very flaky, and the lemon tart was sublime. If you are low on cash, the check out the table of day-old goods. I scored a loaf of sourdough and it was great. Inside and outside seating is available. Nice place to try.

Ordered an iced latte. I liked that it was not sweet. The bear claw was nice and soft.
I have worked in a French bakery for 8 years and that was the most flavorless, softest and slightly bitter baguette I've ever had, there was no crumb so they didn't even proof it properly, no salt added and they didn't put a crisp on the crust. They had really good coffee and pastries
Absolutely nothing gluten free. Not. One. Thing. Boooo. Because the sandwiches look good. And they offer them on all kinds of different bread. Just not gluten-free bread. Also not as salads without bread
I always look forward to coming here but... I was really excited to go here. Always am, this time I was disappointed with an overflowing trashcan and dirty shelves, two teens who seem to do the bare minimum when it comes to maintenance and club music instead of something that fits the atmosphere really took away from the experience this time around.
The service was great. Unfortunately the food was disgusting. The meat tasted like the meat was rotten. The server apologies and brought a dessert that I could not eat after that horrendous piece of stake :(
The girl at counter was not friendly at all, no smile whatsoever. I bought a macaroon cookie and the edges were hard as a rock with the middle soft. I got their chocolate cake and the ganache was hard. Also their carrot cake frosting had no flavor whatsoever. Too expensive for poor quality deserts
Cappuccino was very small and unremarkable. Paid w my credit card and the tip was covertly included in my payment! I do not recommend this place. Other coffee and pastry shopss in town are much better.

Absolutely horrible experience!!! Traveling with friends from France who were excited to see a “French” bakery in the US. Went in for coffee and pastries and my friend said in French “Good morning, we are from France, do you happen to speak French?” The young woman at the register was polite and said, “sorry, I don’t speak French,” but the barista making coffee went ballistic. He told her, “Speak to them in Spanish if they think this is a joke!!! See how much HE understands We don’t need people coming in here thinking they’re being all funny speaking French… Let’s hear your Spanish then!!!” Unbelievable. Trying to calm the guy down, my friend pointed to me and told him that I spoke Spanish but the barista continued to harass us in English. To make matters worse, regulars coming in after us were greeted by this guy IN SPANISH and he proceeded to talk about us IN SPANISH. Here’s the deal, if you market yourself as a F R E N C H bakery with a huge mural of P A R I S behind the cash register, you might attract F R E N C H speaking people. This guy was hostile and toxic and doesn’t deserve to work there. Hope the owner finds out as we have been referring people to Lynn’s Pies up the street. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!
I stopped in for coffee this morning. When my 2 coffee's came out they were hot not iced. I told the barista this and his response was "well two things could have happened here. One the girl at the register made a mistake or you didn't say iced." I replied that I had indeed said iced. He paused and then said "Actually, I am sure it was you that made the mistake." I was completely floored. I felt like walking right out but why should I pay for something and not get it. Then ironically the woman who had just ordered before me came up and said she didn't get one of hers and he replied that she didn't order it. The girl at the register said oh i meant to put that in her order. He replied well if you pay for it we can make it to the customer. I am still amazed at how rude he was.
Pastry was good. Service sucked. The place was packed and I was waiting for my drink orders at the barista counter. I ordered 2 drinks - an almond milk latte with two shots and an oatmilk latte with one shot. When the barista called out my drink order to be picked up, he called out the opposite of what I ordered so I told him what my drink order was to clarify. He then told me to “look at how dark that coffee is” and that “it’s common sense.” I responded with I was just making sure and calirifying and he then proceeded to tell me, in front of the whole store, that he saw me “looking at him make the drink.” Not sure what that was about but definitely felt like I was stupid for clarifying my drink order. Will never go back which sucks because the pastry was good.
This was the worst service I've ever had. This morning, we arrived hungry and eager to try the delicious sounding sandwiches. When we walked in, we were the only customers in the establishment. We ordered our sandwiches, a couple of drinks, and left a generous tip in the jar. We found a cozy spot to sit down inside and made ourselves comfortable. Over 15 minutes passed and we were still waiting for our food. My partner addressed the young man behind the counter and politely asked how long it would be before our order would be ready. He looked confused, asked if we had ordered drinks and my partner told him our sandwich order. He stepped back into the kitchen and proceeded to tell us "they aren't making your sandwiches and I don't know why. What do you want to do". His tone was rude, offered no apology and looked annoyed. We asked if we could have our sandwiches in the next few minutes. He shrugged and said "I don't know". At this point we became a bit irritated. He offered a refund but no apologies. I asked to speak to a manager and he replied "there is no manager". I asked who the owner was and he replied "there is no owner". At this point he had still not refunded our money. We asked for a refund and he asked again what our order was. Quite irritated, we told him for a third time. His reply was that we were crazy, that he was not scared of us even though we gave him no reason to be, that he was just an employee and that he was going to kick us out. He continued that it was just food and that we shouldn't be upset about food. And he still had not returned our money. This employee clearly did not understand why we were upset. My partner gave up on us getting a refund and walked out. He finally handed me a refund and I walked away. The whole exchange was incredibly bizarre.
It was empty when we walked in. We ordered two sandwiches, paid, got change, put a good tip in the jar, and sat down inside. We patiently waited 15 minutes for our order. After 15 minutes I asked when our order would be ready. The male employees asked what our order was. He looked confused and disappeared into the kitchen. When he returned he rudely told me that they weren't making our sandwiches and didn't know why. I had to tell him our order again and asked how quickly our sandwiches could be made. He became rude and defensive towards me and my girlfriend. We asked for a manger or owner and he said there was none. I made no movement or words of violence but he told me that he wasn't scared of me and was going to kick me out. He finally returned our money to my girlfriend. This incident occurred on Sunday 01/05/2024 at 10am.
Ordered a fruit pie, a cinnamon roll, apple turnover and a coffee Frappuccino and the coffee was good but all the baked goods were not much better than a grocery store bakery all tasted the same and absolutely nothing special. The employees looked unhappy with no pleasantries expressed towards customers. I don't understand all the, it's was so good reviews for this bakery it was very disappointing.
I hate to be the odd one out, since clearly this bakery is a local favorite! My mom and I stopped here for a quick lunch and were unpleasantly surprised by the poor quality . Our coffee was cold and our croissants were bland, cold (even after we asked for them to be heated), and not very fresh. The waiters were very kind and welcoming, but unfortunately that didn't make up for our disappointing meal. The place was not very clean - trash cans were overflowing, tables were dirty, and the eating space outside is just very drab. We're willing to give this place a try in the future. Hoping things will improve!
This is not a French baguette, a knife struggles to pierce the hard outer shell. Maybe go to France and see what you should be calling French... so angry !!!!
Went in yesterday late afternoon. Both employees not very friendly. I pointed out there was a fly flying around in the first case by register. They seemed bothered by me telling them. Looked. Then ignored it and walked away ! I will not be going back ! Sad because everything looked delicious
We visited from out of town on Monday. We found this place to be very prejudicial towards people of non Hispanic origin. Cold and non friendly to us, but very warm and friendly to others. Wasn't expecting this type of attitude here and was very disappointed.
