Best taco place ever. No competition. Their hard tacos are actually crunchy, not chewy and the ground beef has flavor. The Pico de Gallo is just tomatoes but they have all of your toppings you need. The currio cheesecake is great. The location is secluded so the drive there, the sit down experience and the drive back home is the best you can ask for. I hope they never change. This restaurant is a syracuse staple..

Worth the drive from any distance. I missed out on the original, but I've been told it hasn't changed. Friendly staff and a hole-in-the-wall atmosphere. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I ask for the sour cream and guacamole on the side or in a bowl to avoid a soggy plate. The atomic salsa is more smokey than spicy, but the real heat is the verde or medium salsa. Don't forget the chips!

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the community it really is good food. I wish you were have some Latin people working there to make it more authentic but it just all young white ladies and men. Polite very nice with a smile. But it need some Latin in there. It is Mexican.

Better than any Mexican based restaurant out there. Me and family goes here every now and then and I always get the Loaded nachos. AMAZING. Environment is a little cheap, but usually we get the food and go home to enjoy. Simply amazing highly recommend it.

The food is just as good as the original, I'll definitely be back. My only complaint was that the young staff members were slow and seemed unhappy to be there. I went after peak dinner time so it wasn't a big deal. I just can't imagine how long peak dinner service would take.

A local favorite. Back when this place opened years ago, it was owned by a couple who closed the restaurant in the winter so they could go back to Mexico. Or at least that's what I heard. When they decided to call it quits after many successful years, the current owner worked with the departing owners to learn the recipes. Why change something that works, right? Anyway this place is cafeteria style Mexican. Nothing you haven't heard of before, but it is done right. Also if you like dessert the flan is so good.

My go-to Mexican place! Everything on the menu is great! I can't emphasize enough so satisfied I've been with every visit. The line is usually out the door which is always a good indication of good food.

I enjoyed the gluten-free pasta and soup. The vodka sauce was very good. The eggplant had a little spice to it. I sensitive to spice so others may never notice it. The eggplant was good tho. Th gluten free roll I was excited about. Unfortunately it was hard. I think when they are first made they are probably very good. I’m excited to eat here again.

Love their super-loaded nachos with queso cheese. Their portion sizes are great, especially with that dish, and they are accommodating to gluten & nut allergies. They do fry their corn chips in the same oil as gluten items, but there are salad options if you’re more sensitive.

Perfectly delicious every time! If there's a line, don't be discouraged! It always moves along quickly, and a line is an indication of a great restaurant. (You can avoid the line by calling ahead, too.) The food is always fresh, homemade, and cooked or prepared to perfection. Our only complaint is we can't eat more of it in one sitting! The staff is always kind and happy to fill your plate or pack your to-go order with enough food to satisfy all of our hungry humans. 😊👍We love this place!

I grew up selling lemonade next to the original owners who also had food stands at various events and the fair. This was the very first burrito I ever tried and the absolute best. Was a little worried after new ownership but it’s still absolutely delicious. Could not recommend enough my mouth is literally watering writing this review!

This place rules! The Priscilla Pork is my favorite but the Chipotle Chicken is also excellent. I never get grizzle or chunks of fat in the meat, the guacamole isn’t overdone with onions, and the ingredients are as fresh as they get. Open a location next to Chipotle and you’d put them out of business. Don’t change a thing… except maybe the hours, I wish you were open until 9!

I love this place! I had the taco salad & they make it right in front of you. They give you plenty of food with your meal too! They have a limited menu, check it out before you get there so you don't have to decide while you're in line. Plenty of parking too. Quite a bit of tables inside to sit down at.

Very good selection and good portions. Tacos, burritos, bowls, etc. A nice assortment of beverages as well as salsas from mild to very spicy. They even have ice cream. It's cafeteria style and they want to make your selection however you like it. Great decorations and if you'd like you can purchase a Boom Boom Mex Mex T-shirt.

A delicious, cafeteria style, Tex-Mex experience. They have a simple menu, but it is all great! It is a very popular spot, so you may want to get there early to avoid big lines. You can also call ahead for to-go orders. If you want to dine in, there is seating, and the restaurant is BYOB. Our whole family of picky eaters can all find something that we like. Enjoy!

Love that this place is back. They've recreated the same recipes as when it first opened and the food is so good. Service is relatively fast depending in how long the line is and all the workers make you feel as if your order is the only one they have to deliver. Warm family type of experience. Perfect for an end of a long day I don't want to cook meal or just the need for good comfort food.

Tips: - Try the poblanos for something different - If you get the pork al pastor, add pineapple to it - Don’t have them cut the burrito in half, instead unwrap the foil as you go The food is still as good as it used to be!

Finaly a good Mexican taqueria in upstate NY. No competition. Forget XO Taco or Elephant and the Dove, those places are so bad and expensive. BOOM Boom is the real deal. Real food for people who know authentic Mexican food. Fresh and delicious. Priced perfectly. Great service and friendly staff. Quiet Saturday afternoon with steady customers. Ate in but took food for other family to go. Just based on the service and taco salad shell, they get 5 stars. Cilantro lime dressing delish. Poblano peppers and homemade black and pinto beans also delish. My daughter said her burrito was awesome, way better than Chipotle. Festive atmosphere with all the colors of the rainbow. Clean and nice bathrooms (at least the ladies’) with interesting pictures and nice decorative sink. Plus this is on a hill, and that is very cool in itself. Definitely go and give it a try. Good margarita on the rocks and Mexican Coca Cola too!

Always exciting to go for the first time of the season! Always great food and authentic Mexican. The kids working the counter typically are aloof, disengaged and avoid making eye contact when you walk up to the counter. Feel more like you are an inconvenience rather than feeling welcomed. But the food outshines this, you just have to deal with it. 🌮

A very pedestrian Mexican restaurant. But for Syracuse, that places it fairly high on the list. Some people say their food has changed since these people acquired the restaurant. I think if anything it's slightly better.

Ordered one soft taco of each meat and just added onion, cilantro and verde salsa to see how each was with minimal extras. The Chipotle Chicken and the Al Pastor stood on their own, but I think most of the other meats are probably better as burrito filling or with lots of toppings. Was a little expensive for what I got but it doesn't seem like there's any limit to the amount of extras you can get (cheese, guac, pico, sour cream, etc) so they're probably priced around that. I will probably order something more like I'd get at Chipotle next time and go for lots of fillings in a burrito. Service was friendly and quick even though it was packed right before closing time. Definitely will be back.

A local favorite. The food is good but it isn't all that authentic feeling. It seems like every teenager in Camillus works here. The best part about this place is that it's BYOB so you can bring your own corona, dos equis or modelo!

Love, love, love this place. I come here a lot. I love Mexican food; and, the food here is always very fresh and delicious. I have come here when it's very busy and also when I was the only one here. I'd recommend stopping by on the early side; it does get busy here. There are lots of toppings and sides you can add to your burrito here. I love ordering the chicken burrito with rice, vegetables, salsa and guacamole. You can sit inside, or you can sit outside here as well. I'm looking forward to stopping back here again soon. I recommend this spot if you're looking for a delicious burrito.

Foods always been really good here but now the prices are absolutely outrageous I will never pay $15 for a quesadilla or I will never pay $15 for three tacos there's not gold inside of the taco and there's no gold inside of my quesadilla bye bye boom boom Max I can do the same thing at my house and feed six people for $25 and in addition to all that there's a 3% surcharge for using a card of any sort which means that they've stopped doing their own booking and pay somebody else to do it and all the financial burden falls on the customer last but not least if you're looking for true authentic Mexican Cuisine I would not recommend this place at all

Generous servings. Food pretty meh. Not particularly authentic-tasting. Guacamole was decent. Corn tortillas were not good…crumbly and dry. No chips and salsa or pico de gallo.

Would I recommend? A reserved yes How far would I travel to go to Boom Boom? Just a few miles. None of us considered the visit a great taste experience. Sandwhich shop meets cafeteria meets mexican is how I would describe Boom Boom. I found the menu confusing and unless you know exactly what you want the ordering is a little intimidating and confusing. Apparently they think everyone coming in has a strong understanding of thier products. I didn't. Pictures of typical offerings would be a big help as would a few standard offerings. A suggestion would be offering something like a California burttio and similar for those unsure of what they want. I also think they should offer seasoned steak as well as beef as a choice for meat. I had a burrito loaded it up with lots of items. While ok I wish they had several recommended suggestions with pictures. My wife had a chicken quesadilla that was ok but she thought Taco Bell's was tastier. My grandson had the 3 taco offering. He ordered them pretty plain with just the beef and cheese. I tried a bite of the taco and liked it and if I return I would get the tacos but with lettuce, tomato, and onion added.

Average score for average food. Had the beef burrito, filled me up but not a lot of flavor. $5.50 for a 16oz lemonade is very expensive, drink prices are not posted anywhere but my fault for not asking first. About $22 for the burrito and drink...meh.

The food was amazing the service was a friendly but at 7:20 and you close at 8 I’m half way through my meal and your folding up chairs and stacking them on tables all around me it was rude and awkward for the person I was eating with. I work at a place with seating and it takes ten minutes to clean up after we close.

Best Mexican food in the area, limited menu. Tacos, burritos, nachos, taco salad, quesadillas. Very authentic, reasonably priced. Rebuttal to my previous review on 5/21. Went with my son for lunch but ate at the restaurant. Place was absolutely filthy from the counters, the floors, we had to clean the table before we ate. Gross. Switching from 5 to 3 stars because of that.

New owners.... queso and nacho sauce comes out of a bag now. Watched the young lady SQUEEZE fhe cheese from the bottom of the bag.... meat was perfect, chipotle chicken was gross, shells are homemade and perfect. They need corn salsa, and steak. who makes Mexican food without corn salsa or steak as an option??? Not me... The taco bowl is the ONLY WAY TO GO.

I am writing an updated review of Boom Boom. The food has been much more true to Lupe's recipies since the new owner took over this year which means that it's very tasty. With that being said, our dining experiences have not been outstanding so far. There have been several times where we have made the drive only to find out the hours were changed. I'm not sure if there is no one updating their social media accounts or what the issue is. The second issue we've had is that the food has been either lukewarm or in some cases, cold. I'm not talking about the pico de gallo which should be cold, but the chicken en chipolte, which should be hot, no matter when we get there. Lastly, someone has decided to SIGNIFICANTLY cut down on portions. Last evening my husband ordered the Mexican platter at 6 PM. He was given a half scoop of everything-beans, rice, and meat. My taco salad has been served with less meat every time as well. One can put up with a lot of things on a full stomach, but when you're hungry after eating your cold dinner, you tend to be annoyed.

Disappointing. Just returned from San Diego, where burritos are the same, or less, cost than this place, and way more flavorful and fresh. The so called poblanos turned out to be a soupy, mushy mess of onions and peppers. The burrito shells are flour type, too thick, gooey and lacking flavor. Everything is precooked and kept in warming trays. Two stars because of portion size. Sorry central NY, but the San Diego fast takeout hole in the wall establishments are superior to anything you offer.

From the moment we stepped in, the service was exceptional, and the ambiance truly captured the essence of a Mexican eatery. However, the disappointment set in with the food. While we ordered classics like Al pastor tacos and a chicken quesadilla, the flavors fell short of authenticity. The Al pastor meat was disappointingly watery, and the chicken lacked the boldness we expected. Even the rice and beans failed to excite the palate, lacking the vibrant taste we associate with Mexican cuisine. The saving grace was the ground beef taco, which offered a burst of flavor amidst the mediocrity. Overall, if you're seeking truly authentic Mexican tacos, this might not be the spot for you.

very overrated...large portions do not = good food.. also when the average age of employee is 15 quality control in general is not great imo..had pork tacos the pork was beyond dry was like it had been sitting cooking in bottom of a pan for hours and they scraped it off and put it into my $17 of 3 tacos opposed to making fresh ..hate to say it, i know its a local fave but----NO BUENO

I'm giving two stars because the restaurant decorations where Pretty awesome. Other than that the food that I ask witch was the best option to the worker. the Option that they gave was Nachos so as I go down the many options picking one after the other I ended up choosing sweet pork with queso and the rest of what ever else was available when all was said and done you get this huge amount of food witch was amazing but all of that Doesn't matter if the taste isn't right. The sweet pork Had an overpowering amount of one flavor and it just Ruin the whole meal for me but would definitely like to give it a second change

They advertise as closing at 8, I tried to order at 730 and was told I needed to get there by 740 to pick up the food. Why advertise you close at 8 but food has to be picked up by 740, makes no sense. The food appears to be good but their business acumen lacks, lost a customer.

Horrible lunch. Fresh veggie ingredients but everything tasteless. Ordered burrito and tacos with beef. Would not recommend at all! No Mexican flavor to anything. No spices except maybe overpowering cilantro in the pico de Gallo. Taco Belle might be comparable.

3% upcharge for using a card. $3 added to customize any meal. No steak available. No queso, they had baseball game nacho cheese. The only flavor anything had was from the Tostito's salsa we added on when we got home. Extremely disappointing since this place used to be authentic. "An expensive, tasteless Moe's with no queso."

The pork in he quesadilla was heavily over spiced with allspice/clove flavor to the point that it was all you could taste. The owner ..Bob Lavin told me that it was just my taste and that everyone loved it. One hour later and I still taste it after eating 1/2 of one portion . Do NOT patronize this place. Bad food and horrible customer service!!

Last time I waste my hard earned dollars here. This place has went way downhill since the original Spanish owners left. Terrible staff. They once again messed up my order, due to the pushy, rude, Karen’s-in-training that work there. I ordered three tacos and received a sloppy mess of ingredients that totaled one taco worth of food. They rush you through ordering and really skimp in the portions. my tacos had very little guacamole or sour cream due to the fact that the girl making them took one little scoop and slapped it in all three. they had barely any lettuce on them and kept saying, ‘is that all’. I said cilantro and she interrupts, ‘anything else?’ And I said ‘nothing.’ She then said, ‘onions?‘ and threw them on all over the tacos before I could say anything. Terrible experience and I won’t be back. the staff there used to be so good, attentive, not pushy, and hooked up the ingredients. $15 dollars for three sloppy tacos and hardly anything in them. And the staff is like this every time I go in there.
