Took my wife here for our anniversary (Her request) and we were both Happy with our experience here. For starters, and most importantly, our Waitress was AMAZING. The food didn’t just LOOK GOOD, it really was Great. The home made chips and Salsa’s were 🔥🔥🔥. And the Bread Pudding dessert was also amazing. Great place to go for a date night or as a group!

A Taste of Mexico at Luna Mexican Kitchen Luna Mexican Kitchen at the Pruneyard offers a vibrant dining experience with a menu that's both classic and innovative. Our recent visit was a true treat, and it was made even more enjoyable by our fantastic server, Daniel, whose attentive and friendly service was a highlight of the meal. We started with a refreshing drink and an order of tacos and burritos, served with a generous side of fresh, crisp tortilla chips. The chips were perfectly salted and had a satisfyingly rustic texture, hinting at their fresh preparation. The accompanying burrito was a culinary masterpiece—perfectly toasted on the outside, with a filling that was flavorful and well-balanced. It was clear that care was taken to ensure every ingredient stood out. The tacos were equally impressive. We tried a variety of options, including the carne asada tacos, which were served on warm corn tortillas and topped with a simple yet effective mix of diced onions and cilantro, allowing the rich, savory flavor of the meat to shine. Another standout was the baja fish taco, a delicious blend of crispy fish, creamy sauce, and crunchy red cabbage. The skirt steak plate was also a showstopper, featuring a perfectly grilled steak topped with a zesty chimichurri sauce. It was served alongside grilled zucchini, sweet potatoes, and a flavorful rice, creating a well-rounded and satisfying meal. Overall, Luna Mexican Kitchen offers more than just a meal; it offers an experience. The food is fresh, the flavors are authentic, and the service from people like Daniel makes you feel right at home. It's an excellent choice for anyone looking for a high-quality Mexican dining experience.

I have to say this place exceeded my expectations. Not only was the food excellent but I really was blown away by the service. Angel was our server and despite being busy he was really attentive. I have not had service like this recently. Also, when we arrived at the front we were immediately seated, which again, I have not found typical for the area. Finally, the food was excellent and overall the menu was reasonably priced (again, somewhat unusual for the area). I regret not visiting before and will be returning for sure. Recommend stopping by!

Everything 5 stars! Food, service and ambiance!!! We were seated inside, it had mood lighting and multi-levels, quaint pockets. Culturally Decorated, inviting! Chips and salsa had you asking for more. Chips crispy hand made, salsa rojo and green spicy crema DO THEY BOTTLE THIS? I would buy it! We had steak salad and pollo molé. We were stuffed to full, I would have licked the plates. All the flavor you're hoping for, tender meat, dishes traditional and creative at the same time. We finished off with the tropical tres leches. Absolutely the best I've ever had. The cream was sweet and thick, coconut and pineapple topped the moist sweet cake. If I lived in this town this would be my favorite place to eat. It might be even not living here. I had not expected the size and popularity of this restaurant! You should make reservations and get there early for parking if you're coming at dinner time on a weekend!

Connected with our old neighbors for lunch at Luna on a recent trip back to San Jose. This was my first time coming here. It was a beautiful day and we sat outside. I had the Chile Verde and it was very good. Our waiter was very friendly and took great care of us. The one thing that was different was that the tortilla chips that they served were very thick and much harder than what's survived at most Mexican restaurants. It's neither good nor bad, just different. Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend.

Atmosphere was amazing and nice. The weather helped a lot as it was not too hot Mor cold. Our waiter was beyond nice, gave us time to look at menu. The food was amazing. The drinks were to die for. Got to sit outside to enjoy the weather but if you want a more romantic feeling I would recommend to sit inside.

Straight out of the gate, BEST enchiladas we have ever had! My husband ordered the lobster enchiladas and yes, he gave me a bite and then I took half. Oh my gosh! The creaminess of the sauce, the freshness of the lobster and the flavors complimented eachother so well. I ordered the steak fajitas. The steak was so flavorful, cooked to my perfection of medium rare, and seasoned perfectly. I actually thought the steak was a ribeye. The compliments of the rice, beans, Pico and the bed on sautéed onions filled my homemade tortilla and I ate it man-vs-food style. I could have used more salsa to put on top, but I was too in love with my full fajitas, I didn't stop eating to ask for more. They home make their tortillas and chips, so the freshness was obvious. Francisco was our server. He was very friendly, he would suggest certain menu items and he talked us into coming back for more. He did remind us the food was all fresh like farm-to-table. We will be back!!! Oh, did I mention their margaritas were delicious and refreshing. We sat outside under the umbrellas and just enjoyed the bustle of Pruneyard market. What a fun place.

We had a good experience dining at Luna on Saturday night. Although it was very busy with a one-hour wait, the text-based waitlist made it easy to explore nearby shops while we waited. The restaurant had a nice ambiance, the service was good, and prices were reasonable. The Food: - Chips & Green Salsa (5/5): These were complimentary and had a delicious spicy flavor. - Queso Flameado (3/5): Bit underwhelming. The cheese consistency was much thicker than we expected. But tortillas that came with it were great. - Enchiladas El Vegan & Chile Relleno De Calabacitas (4/5): both decent choices with good flavors

First time here. Our server was very friendly and courteous to our needs. He was great! Food was delicious. Atmosphere was a little too dark for my liking. I want to see what I am eating. Wish there was a lamp hanging instead of the led lamp on the table. Other that, it was a great experience and we will come back again.

The food is really good. Good portions and definitely can be shared between 2-3 people. Ambience is instagramable, if you are after that. Im sure the service is good but the hostess out us in a caorner that usually servers forget. And that's what actually happened. It took them a lil bit time to get our orders and forgot our drinks. We had a lil problem with our food but was taken cared of by the supervisor. I would still go here and recommend to others. Since this is located in Pruneyard, parking is quite a challenge. Overall, still worth to try. One of the good food and place in the bay area.

The food was good and definitely could tell the quality was also fresh. The service was kinda nonexistent but it was a busy Saturday. The staff was WORKING thought. Their Mexican coffee was very a unique and delish with unlimited refills. The steak bowl was very good, the chilaquiles was very rich and filling. The guacamole, on point! The margarita rimmed with Tajin was delish!

Great ambience, a bit bougie in the best way! We were seated quickly even though it was fairly busy. Service was fast and our waiter was excellent. The chicken mole enchiladas were delicious, though the shrimp ceviche was just okay. They start with a free nacho chips and it was a bit hard. Loved the mango habanero lunarita, it was super flavorful. Perfect spot for a date night!

I went here two times, as a good friend of mine initially recommended that I give it a try. My friend and I ordered fried cauliflower and guacamole. While waiting, they usually serve nachos with nice sauces to dip in. We also ordered tea. For the second time, it was with hubby. Served first with nachos, and we ordered Carne Asada Tacos Carne Asada Burrito Overall, the staff was very attentive, warm, and friendly. We didn’t wait that long to have our meals. I thought the tacos were good, not too salty. I also loved the beans. The burrito had a good overall taste and was served with nachos and a different sauce. We’re pleased with the overall experience and the good portion. We don’t mind visiting again and trying other dishes.

Been a few times and want to love it just for the atmosphere and the old el burro vibes but don't. The food doesn't do it for me, too mild and unseasoned, except for an occasional hot and the sun sauce that hits unexpectedly. I'll go again in a few months, it really is a great place to hang.
