My husband and I were referred to this great restaurant by a friend of ours and we had a very excellent experience. The Cheff and staff are very caring and very professional. They also take into consideration your dietary modifications.

Great second Gen Family owned restaurant. The fish is fresh daily. The rolls,sushi,grilled,and shasimi are generous portions and so delicious. Even made to your taste on request. The staff here are knowledgeable and friendly and prompt. The sake is high quality and plentiful and varied. Something for every taste. The seating here is plentiful as well,unless of course you want to sit at the counter with Chef Able, better arrive early. Otherwise there is plenty of regular seating and zaziki Japanese seating as well. But don't take my word for it,come check this place out, you will be happy that you did. I have been coming to this place close to 30 years and still love the Staff and the food. Plan on spending about 30.00 per person and with drinks 35. But know this,it is worth every dime.

Love this place! When I walk in - it just feels at home and comfortable. Love the intimate feeling and the food is authentically delicious. The staff is super attentive and provides great service. We dropped our chopsticks and immediately- she came over with a new stick! Overall- it’s a weekly favorite!

My family has been coming here since the early aughts back when Campbell Music was next door (RIP) and we were looking to grub after our music lessons. The quality has been consistent over the decades. The dinner for two is a great deal! You get rice, miso soup, shrimp and veggie tempura, teriyaki chicken, gyoza, California rolls, and green tea ice cream from Marianne’s (delicious and Bay Area based 😋) for just $27 a person. Highly recommend! 💙

Just had a great lunch at the sushi bar (ika fry, salad, miso soup, epic bluefin tuna sashimi). Unassuming neighborhood cozy laid back hole in the wall Japanese restaurant with lot parking. Been going there for over 20yrs 'cause it is a San Jose institution like Original Joe's and Henry's Hi-Life and the food is consistantly awesome especially the ika fry (lightly sauted squid). Service is always charming. Great place to have a relaxing good meal or a few nibbles.

When I moved here 20 years ago, I needed a good sushi place to make me feel at home---this was it and has remained *my* go-to. When I was pregnant, I ate here at least once a week and then my daughter loved it as well. Their food never lost quality. Their prices remained comparable. The service has always been friendly and welcoming. Cannot say enough.

Brought the extended family here. They put out a spread that you would not believe the food is so delicious. All the fish is fresh. The teriyaki chicken and the steak are perfect. The pot stickers all the Appetizers is nothing on this menu that you cannot order and be completely satisfied with.

Amazing Japanese food in a somewhat discreet location. I've never been disappointed in anything I've ordered here. Highly recommend trying this restaurant if you love Japanese food.

I like this place for lunch, usually not too crowded, but enough people coming and going to let you know the food is good. Walking in, having a meal and walking out is usually about 45 minutes. Teriyaki chicken is really good.

The service is actually quite good, we had a question about their green tea, that they buy in bulk, and the waitress wrote down the name in both English and Japanese

Had a sort of mediocre experience here, possibly a one-off but: big table of poorly behaved kids (not the restaurant's fault I know, but if this is the kind of place that frequently has children running around, I'll pass), waitress got our order wrong, and it took quite a while to receive our incorrect rolls when the place was only about half full. The uni was pretty good though, I'm not writing this place off yet, will give it another chance because it's local and the service folks were friendly.

Not sure what happened (during pandemic?) but after 2020, this restaurant is like a totally different business now and not in a good way. With a not too friendly or attentive service and a menu that's a step down (if you ask me) comparing it to what I used to eat there.

🚨🚨🚨BAD SERVICE ALARM: Food 3 star. Service 0 star. Really bad server experience. No food was served for half an hour while people came in later than me start getting sushis. Food eventually served but they look dry enough like sitting there for an hour.

I contacted grubhub for refund request, and today I placed the same order and I call them to confirm it (because there were two times, the staff didn’t even check grubhub orders, causing me to wait for a long time, so i had to call them to confirm my order). Then they said I should have contacted them for refund and shown them proof instead of contacting Grubhub support. WTH??? How come as a costumer knows who to contact first? Also you have no right to ask me which contact option I should use. I told them not to make my food and I won’t visit anymore. I was planning to bring a group of friends there for dinner, but now we will give other nicer restaurants this chance! 1. You didn’t even apologize for your mistake! 2. You suspect me as a liar! You said because of my refund request, the restaurant needs to accept the loss but it’s your fault, not me!! 3. One time I ordered from Grubhub, you lied to me that the order hasn’t arrived but it turned out you forgot to check the order status. You didn’t even check!! 4. You didn’t learn the mistake and make the same mistake again because another time luckily I called and you finally open the app to accept the order! This is all from the same person!!
