Opinions de Dragon King Canoga Park
Best Chinese food, everything is always consistent and tasty. Big portions. I especially love their orange chicken and fried rice 🍚
My family and I are tough critics and after experiencing multiple Chinese restaurants Dragon King is hands down the best in the valley. We eat here frequently as it’s a no brainer when we want Chinese. This place definitely deserves more stars. Don’t sleep on this spot!!!
The food from this place was out of this world, the server wasn’t the best, but the food that made up, for they close down their dining, so they only need to take out didn’t stop me though, because we ate it in the car, amazing, amazing, amazing, trust me
This place is a go to for Chinese cuisine. The food is great quality and the prices are pocket friendly. The portion sizes for entrees are made for sharing so be aware of that when ordering! The only thing that sucks about this place is the parking. Parking is a small lot with minimal spaces but other than that, this place is a must try.
I ordered the Orange chicken Salted pork chops Green beans & Beef broccoli Everything was DELICIOUS. The atmosphere I left blank because it's a take out place only, I can't judge a location based off that.
Oh how I love this place. The food NEVER disappoints and I say this as someone who has enjoyed their food for at least 20 years... Everyone is kind, well mannered and on top of everything service - wise. I usually order take out with my family but on this occasion I dined inside! It was the second time I ate there and the staff was just as lovely as I remember them 9 years ago during my first trip inside... The food, no joke ALL amazing! But if you want a few ideas; my Grandma's favorite was their orange chicken. Glazed to perfection and the skin, just crispy enough! Papa loved their beef & broccoli, another staple of Chinese food in America that tastes as if it's just been made for you, for the first time. Granted, my grandparents had simpler taste buds than we do today but they were the ones who introduced my whole family to this place and they started (and ended) with those two dishes. Go start a new family tradition at Dragon King tonight!
Generous portions, reasonable, and they use the fresh vegetables, don't cheap out on the more expensive veggies, quality or quantity. They have delicious fried rice although it is pretty plain, even my dogs love the rice. Humble as the place is, it appears to be very clean, smells good inside. Someone is always eating there. I think their food is the best in the West valley area. The take out app works great, they are quick, for either take-out, or in house.
Door dash has been a staple in my household, and I think we’ve been bested. Absolutely delicious and portions to have lunch and dinner the next day. Highly recommend
I’ve been coming to Dragon King for almost two years and their food is amazing! They recently changed owners and the food & quality of service is still great. The only thing I miss from the other owners is their hot sauce recipe that goes greatly with the fried chicken and pork chops. Try both when you come!
Their salt and pepper fried pork chop is sooooo good!!! And their orange chicken is BETTER THAN Panda's (aak for it to be fried crispy). Always satisfy my craving! Too bad the parking area is so small and sometimes it's hard to park on certain busy hours.
Food is great, and a good value. To Go Only. Only problem is No Parking... ever. I wish the owner of the property would change the layout of the parking spaces to be at a diagonal. That way, people can enter off Vanowen heading West Bound, and park nose in. Then when they leave, backing out is diagonal to the storefronts, and they exit the lot facing West. As it is right now, there's a huge sign pole that EVERYONE hits when they pull in trying to park perpendicular to the storefronts, AND hit the sign pole when they back out. Bad game of Tetris. Anyways, for price and value, this is one of the better Chinese To Go spots in Canoga Park, Woodland Hills. Favorites of mine are Orange Chicken and Moo Shoo. The Fried Fish (get the sauce on the side) is out of this world! It's crispy, crunchy, and very tasty. If you get it already mixed with the sauce, by the time you get home it's just one big soggy mess. So please come and do yourself a favor, get the sauce on the side. They do have all of your old, classic dishes as well like beef and broccoli, Mongolian beef, war wonton, and classic wonton soup. Prices are great, very affordable. You do get a good amount of everything as well.
Amazing orange chicken! It's fried to perfection with amazing sauce that isn't overwhelming at all but instead light and sweet and tasting of fragrant oranges. The cook is perfect, small chopped chicken battered in a crispy deep fried perfection. When married with the sauce the light fresh batter-fried chicken explodes with flavor in your mouth, leaving you craving another bite as soon you finish each you take. They had our food ready fast, and I was able to get the take-out within minutes of placing the order. My fortune said "You will soon receive pleasant news of a personal nature."
Pleasantly surprised by the quality and authenticity of the food. I highly recommend the crispy and tasty shrimp fried noodle. The menu showcases a hefty selection of both Americanized and authentic Chinese cuisine and very good lunch specials. I'm becoming a regular of this place.
Food is always good. Placed a large order. Asked for spicy Mustard and was told they don't have any. Luckily the lady who had just received her order said wait a minute, you just gave me some. Server had lied. She then gave the smallest amount.. Shame on her.
Top orange chicken and shrimp chowmein around the valley trust me! Made to order type. Not a fan of there Kung pao or fried rice. Too dry but there orange chicken and chow mein is to DIE FOR TRUST ME!
I had a doctor's appointment out out of our local area after the doctors we decided to pick up some Chinese food so looked on Google maps for Chinese restaurant near me and up came Dragon King. So it was our first time visiting this restaurant, it is a hole in the wall with limited parking. We were going to find another place but while we were getting in the car a highway patrol car pulled up and went in to the restaurant to pick up food, when he was on his way out we asked if the food was and good. He said you won't be disappointed. He was so right their pork egg foo young was the best I've had and the combination tried rice was fantastic with several pieces of fresh shrimp. So i was don't judge a book by its cover.
My Uber Eats driver scared me when he told me this place looked sketched. I immediately thought the food would be bad and make me sick. But WOW! Nope..this will be my go to Chinese food restaurant. My family and I loved the food. Good combo selections, great prices, and big portions. If you like orange chicken you HAVE to try the pineapple chicken.
Yesterday I was around and decided to have Chinese food for lunch, Samy who was there is very nice and she explained a couple dishes and ended up choosing the Yu Hsiong shrimp which was very tasty and the portion is not bad, and the food was ready in no time, the place is nice but sadly they don't have dine in anymore , It would be really nice to eat there and listen to the music , the place to me looks kinda romantic, I will definitely need to go again and try a different dish, they had a wide variety, and hope they could reopen to dine in
Food is FRESH and made to order. Meaning you’ll have to be prepared to wait about 15 minutes if you don’t order ahead but honestly it is totally worth it ! I ordered the sizzling chicken but will definitely be returning to try the other menu items !
Best sit down place I've been to, why drive around or even think of going to Chinatown this place is superb. Everything was made fresh so expect to wait for your food but it's worth it. Never had such crispy and delicious Orange chicken I recommend 👍great service top notch next time ill be there for the lunch specials 11 to 4 if you're interested.
I tried the best noodles there. The best restaurant in our area. Highly recommend.
Tasty home cooking foods, good service and friendly waitress 'W'.
Great food the Lady was very friendly a bit pricey but worth every cent limited parking but I highly recommend it
Best local Chinese spot in the area. You have to try their pork chops with spicy pepper salt its amazing 🤤
Food is well worth the price. Was definitely hooked the first time trying their food. Was recommended by a friend for the good food options. Beef is always tender and food is amazing!

Some of the best Chinese food ive ever ate.
I love this place! Delicious and fresh tasting food. We always get the veggie chow mein and orange chicken. Always takeout— not much of a dining room to sit and eat at but it’s perfect at home or at the beach.
I found this place on Yelp. I've passed by it many times, but it really doesn't have curb appeal inviting you to stop. However, the food is excellent! And the portions are generous. We had four different items, all very good, Especially the fried rice. It was nicely seasoned, and packed full of veggies, fried egg, etc. That's usually not the case at most places.

The people here are very nice, and the food was generally firmly above expectations (as in really good, not just average!); value is really awesome too. Why the 4 stars then? The fried rice is *so* freakin' mid. No veggies or peas or anything. Just some mostly dry, flavorless rice. It's serve it's purpose, but it's also what's stopping this place from being incredible
Tasty food. I didn't order much as it was my first visit. Spicy chicken was really good and spicy! BBQ pork fried rice was tasty though not very much pork. Nicer than you can get in Chinatown imo. The pork chops with spicy salt are ok. Very bready though not doughy. Tasty. I'll go back and try other things. It looks like it used to be a dine in restaurant, but now it's only take out.
I ordered the orange chicken lunch special (L7 I believe). It was orange chicken, fried rice or white rice, a soup option, an egg roll, and two wonton chips. I also ordered crab meat rangoon…total paid $20.10. The chicken was crispy and flavorful. The crab meat rangoon was good but a little skimpy on the feeling and the sweet n sour sauce was pretty tasty. I didn’t try the soup but my husband said the flower soup was better than the hot sour soup. The fried rice was very bland. I’m used to fried rice with carrots, peas, and onions. I asked if I could add shrimp but was told that I would have to purchase shrimp fried rice separately. It didn’t bother me but just informing whoever wants to know. I don’t really like Chinese food anymore but overall, the food was good.
We have been to this place many times as well as ordered food online. They have so many options to try and everything we ordered was delicious.

NO DINING IN. TO-GO only. So ignore those old photos that show a dining area it’s no more. Parking lot is small, busy, and awkward, but the staff and food are fine. A Chinese to-go option in the Canoga Park/Woodland Hills area.
No dine in so I won’t review service and atmosphere. Crab Rangoon was good. Orange chicken was fairly good but some pieces had more orange flavor than others. Black pepper beef had lots of vegetables and would have preferred more beef, flavor was good but could have been more peppery. Xo sauce string beans didn’t have much flavor, but I tasted the sauce in the bottom of the container and it was good so maybe the beans need to marinate more. I’ll try it again tomorrow and see if it tastes better. So, all in all, I’d say the food is kind of average.

The sesame chicken and veggie chow mein were good, but the yu hsiong chicken and egg rolls were lacking. The egg rolls were actually spring rolls and were okay. They seem to promote having New York style Chinese takeout, but it was not that. Pretty typical LA Chinese takeout to be honest, which is to say too greasy, too sugary, and too expensive. That said they seemed popular so I guess most locals like it. Sketchy parking lot with a grimy liquor store and junkies nodding about were not appealing, not the restaurants fault, but use that info as you will. Oh boy do I miss real East Coast takeout, and this didn't do it for me. Might order again, we'll see.
The soups are excellent, especially the hot and sour. The rest of it was just ok. The floor could use some remodeling. The staff is friendly.

You can't eat there. The food is overly seasoned, and the prices are higher than average for businesses in the area. I'll eat more vegetables than meat. I won't be back.
Got the lunch special. Fried rice is very plain, sweet and sour pork was dry, mostly batter, and way too sweet.
Dragon King is a family run restaurant in the Cantonese style. The restaurant is poorly lit inside; there are a couple TVs on the wall and a couple paintings. The menu is pretty large, filled with typical fare: soups, beef, chicken and pork items as well as some seafood. I'd avoid any of the seafood or pork items: neither is fresh as they aren't a Chinese deli (hence the pork isn't fresh) or able to get fresh fish from any source close by. Their dumplings are frozen by their admission. The orange chicken is passable, but heavily fried and the chicken isn't fresh either. The steamed rice is okay. The best item I had was the string beans with chopped onion and jalapeno. I ordered it with little oil and little salt as the Chinese tend to over use both in restaurant cooking. My poor rating is not so much for the food (I'd give the food 3 stars), but for their lack of honesty/ poor ethics: when we received the bill they charged us for the dinner prices rather than the lunch special prices, though we were eating over an hour before the end of their lunch schedule. Why? Because we didn't ask for the lunch special, though I was pointing to the page when I placed the order. That cost an extra $9 and change. So, we won't be returning.
I can't rate service or atmosphere since there is no dine in. We've gotten take-out many times from here. Last night is the last time I'll go there. We got three dinners. Mine was a ramen/BBQ pork dish. There were maybe 5, 1/8"x1x1.5" pieces is BBQ pork, one piece of broccoli, three slices of thin carrot and slices of watercress? The other dishes were terrible also. Not sure what happened.

I come here sometimes with my boyfriend but definitely not ordering ever again. I got food poisoning from them. Never has happened before but I know it was from them because I didn’t eat nothing else all day until I had food Thursday night from them. Went to bed feeling sick & yesterday was when I started to feel more sick. I couldn’t eat nothing else and I been throwing up since yesterday. I don’t know how this happened but I feel very disgusted. I can’t seem to find myself coming back! Not only was I sick my boyfriend was throwing up as well!
HORRIBLE PORTIONS FOR SUCH A HIGH PRICE!!!! i can't belive my eyes at the plates i got my brocolli beef had 5 pieces of beef and all brocolli my 2.00 thai tea was kids meal size and for how mich the orange chicken was it was like a small plate. Goodness sakes Panda Express gives you better portions.
Been eating here for years, today I order my typical shrimp fried rice with added chillie cooked together ,not on the side. I added two more items. I’m home sick so order delivery. Delivery shows up and fried rice has no chili, I call and let them know they did a mistake so a lady tells me to hold on then returns and tells me sorry and could you come pick up the right one. So I leave my home not thinking on returning the wrong one. I get there and lady tells me I had to take the order that was wrong. Guessing they wanted to recook it. So I said I’m not trying to get free food, so I get $6 dollars cash and $4.23 cents on DEbit Card. Item was $10.90 so I was like $0.67 cents short. Did not want to walk out empty handed which I did. Owner came out and said NO NO NO, so I said thank you very much and I’ll never dine in or order food for take out. Have many friends who eat here but Will also stop buying. Very disappointing.............
I ordered the Seafood combo of scallops, shrimp and fish with vegetables. I haven't had anything that tasted that bad in many years. The fish was mushy and I wasn't even sure what it was and the scallops were tiny bay scallops. If I had known it was in the dish I would have ordered something else. The only thing that was mediocre was the shrimp and broccoli. I recommend that you avoid this dish. It was awful!
To start my review I must say I was disappointed that they charged me almost double if not triple for my meal that I got. The food was a mess in the bag with sauce leaking every where, fries rice was only rice and soy sauce no eggs, carrots, or anything added. The lunch special soup was decent (egg drop) the hot and sour wasn't the greatest and the beef chow mein was mediocre. I would of rather gone to Panda Express especially because they've never charged me almost triple for a meal then threatened me saying I should just call the bank to dispute it. Be careful here if you use a card I really recommend using cash.
We have been ordering food here for a few years and the food itself is good. The problem is the customer service. two times ago we ordered take out from here when they delivered the food there was a mistake. We called them and finally they agreed to give us a credit the next time we ordered. The last time that I ordered when I brought up the credit they said they knew nothing about it and wouldn't take off the money for the order. I was not happy. Tonight while I was at work my daughter on speakerphone, ordered a lot of food to be delivered and she ordered a vegan moo shoo dish and when my daughter ordered it she told the man who took the order that there can't be eggs in the dish. Of course when the food arrived the moo shoo had eggs in it. My wife called up and spoke to a women that said that she would send someone with another order without the egg. My wife thanked her and we continued to eat. After a few minutes the man who my daughter originally gave the order to called us and told us that they won't bring us another dish and he said that my daughter never told her to leave the eggs out of the dish when there were five people in the room when she placed the order and everyone heard her say it. He said if we wanted we could come right over because they are closing soon and pick up a new dish but he repeated that we never told him about the eggs and basically said that my wife was lying. And we weren't about to make a 20 minute each way trip to get the dish from a mistake that they had made when we were in the middle of eating. Unfortunately even though the food is good ,we won't b er ordering food from here ever again.I own my own business and would NEVER treat one of my customers like that. He just lost 5 customers that were here eating with us but also all of the people that we will tell never to eat here.
Not very good. I ordered thai tea, egg flower soup, cream cheese and crabmeat rangoon, and spicy orange chicken.... I liked none of it. The rangoons were dry. The orange chicken wasnt spicy at all and was over battered...the picture shows how bready it is. My delivery driver was friendly.
