The reviews before mine did not disappoint. This was the first spot we visited after landing. There's a variety of items to choose from, including curry goat and butter chicken in addition to samosas and some other surprises. I recommend this spot 👌. Good eats!
This is currently my new go to place for Indian buffet . I find that each Indian buffet does something better than another so I won't say that this is better than any other but that they do a couple of dishes better than the others and that is what I am currently in the mode for. For me they do 3 dishes really well but all the items on the line are tasty so you can't go wrong depending on your preferences. The absolute only criticism I will give is that the Chi tea isn't that great and I usually just order the water whereas at other Indian restaurants I almost always have the tea. In all fairness their tea may be more authentic but I can't say for certain, all I can say is that while it's not bad I just don't prefer it. Edit: I went there and after a long while of not ordering their tea, I ordered some. It is actually quite good especially when I added some sugar. They let you add the sugar to taste and I think I like that better, now if they only gave me some milk to add too.
We were craving Indian food. We saw this place has high ratings. One thing we were wary of was the spice level of the food. To our surprise, the spice level of most of the food is pretty minimal. Ironically, my most favorite dish is the "beef" meatballs. We were surprised to see a beef dish. Another highlight is the fresh Naan bread. We also liked the samosa. The service was good and prompt. We will be back.
My family has been coming here for over 15 years. That's right, 15 years. In that time, we've never had a bad experience. The food is delicious. The environment is spotless (I can't remember the last time their inspection wasn't rated at 100/100). The wait staff is so kind and attentive. When my grandma visits from out of town, this is our mandatory stop between the airport and home. Give this place a try, you might also make it a family tradition.

We had the buffet here and were genuinely impressed. There were plenty of vegetarian options, and every dish we tried was delicious. The spice levels were perfectly balanced—full of flavor without overpowering the taste—and the food carried a lovely touch of authentic North Indian flavors. The ambience was top class, making it a perfect place for a relaxed dine-in experience. The staff was polite, and the owner was especially friendly, which added a personal touch. Overall, we were not disappointed at all, both in terms of food and service. Whenever I visit San Antonio again, this place will definitely be on my list. Honestly, the food smelled so amazing and looked so good that I couldn’t resist diving right in and didn’t even get a chance to click pictures.
This place is fire as heck man. The tandoor chicken and their basmati rice. The naan was so good too. I had a Taj Mahal and that was so good with my meal. The buffet is pretty small but they have great variety and options. I would highly recommend for a reasonably priced meal in a beautiful Indian setting. They speak Hindi here which is cool.
Absolutely the very best Indian food in San Antonio! The owners are fantastic and are very personable with every single customer that comes through the doors. We have been coming here and to their old location for as long as I can remember. Absolutely great food, great service, very reasonably priced, and you will want to come back again and again!
I don’t usually leave reviews, but the people here are amazing and the food is equally as delicious. I unknowingly left my wallet here and they sent my ID to my home address and held onto my wallet until I was able to come get it. So amazing and such a wonderful place, I will definitely be back and I recommend it to anybody wanting a delicious Indian buffet!!!
This place is an absolute must for me every time I have an appointment in the medical center area. The food is so fresh and flavorful. The time that the chef spends on these culinary dishes is apparent in the flavors of the food. My go to's are the spinach with cheese (Saag Paneer), tomato bisque with cheese (Mattar Paneer), cauliflower with potatoes and bell pepper and the vegetable and potato stuffed Samosas. Accompany any of these with that delicious basmati rice and a fresh made Garlic Na'an from the oven and you have a lunch fit for King or your Queen and the best part is it's a buffet! They as well offer a Mango smoothie that is fantastic and if you over do it on the buffet I would try the Chai tea. Overall the best experience in India food I ever had

Stepping inside, I was immediately welcomed by the enticing aroma of spices, hinting at the flavorful journey ahead. As someone new to the Indian buffet experience, I was delighted by the sheer variety of options available. From fragrant curries to sizzling meats, the selection catered to both mild and spice-loving palates alike. The rice was exceptionally light and fluffy. Each grain distinct and perfectly cooked. But one of the standout stars of my meal was something unexpected... the cabbage. Cooked to perfection, it was flavorful and satisfying, a true testament to the restaurant’s attention to even the simplest of ingredients. Beyond the food, the intimate setting of the restaurant makes it a perfect spot for a cozy lunch or dinner date. While the space is small, it adds to the warmth and authenticity of the dining experience. This visit has left such a lasting impression that I’m already planning my return, this time with my family in tow. If you’re looking for a place that serves authentic Indian flavors with a welcoming atmosphere, this buffet is well worth a visit.
Updated Review: At one point a few months ago I needed my Chicken Tikka Masala fix and saw that they were “temporarily closed” I immediately got worried. Come to realized they were moving to a new location which also worried me because we've been to other restaurants that moved and just weren't as good as before. But there was nothing to worry about at all! The food is just as amazing and the customer service as well. The location is a bit smaller than the previous one but its still very nice. Come check it out if you haven't been to the new location. Older Review: I’ve been coming here for years now and every time I’ve come the food is amazing! The Chicken Tikka Masala is just to die for. I tend to get multiple servings of it. The samosas are just as good. There’s something for almost everyone and they even have dessert. The people who work here have always been pleasant and attentive. I’ll be back again and again since it’s simply that addictive. If you’re in the area come check it out.
I wish I would’ve found this place sooner. The only reason I went in was because my usual place was closed. But when I got there and I ate their food, I couldn’t even believe it. They are my new favorite restaurant and they are kind and they want to make sure your experience is perfect. I got so full. I wasn’t able to eat the sweet rice that they have there so he gave me a large serving for free to take with me. PLEASE try it. You’ll 🩷it!
Came here with a friend for lunch and it was delicious! I really appreciate the dishes on the buffet being labelled vegan as it makes it easy for me to pick what I can eat. Upon sitting down, the waitress offered us masala chai to drink. My friend ordered it but I asked if it already came with cream because if so and it was cow's milk I'd have to pass, I can't have dairy. A gentleman came over who I believe was the owner and asked if I was vegan to which I said yes and he told me they do have a vegan milk they can give me instead! Amazing! I ended up being able to enjoy the masala chai too with my friend which was really good! Really love this place! Nice, clean restaurant, lovely atmosphere, tasty food! Will definitely be back! 😁
Choice place for Indian buffet. Very good selection of vegetarian options. They also have excellent meat and desserts. Service was very good with several refills and Nan brought to the table. I was at ease dining here and the interior was cozy. Quality and variety of food and prices is what makes this place stand out.
My family and I have been coming to the Tandoor Palace for at least 3 years now. This is the first time I remembered to write a review. I love this restaurant. Everything they serve is delicious. It’s hard to pick a favorite because all their offerings are that good. We have brought many friends and family here and they all have liked it. I’ve added a few pics of what we just had for dinner. I highly recommend this establishment. You will not be sorry. I failed to mention that they served a buffet with plenty food to choose from but they also have a menu if you prefer.
The food was great, amazing flavor, a good selection and a fair price. We decided to stop here at random. We walked the buffet to see what kind of selection there was and the options were pretty good. Both of us made at least 3 trips to the buffet trying a little bit of almost everything. The majority of the items on the buffet were great. I found very few items I didnt care for, returning for seconds of several items. I finished off the meal with some rosewater donuts and mango custard/pudding also included on the buffet. The entire experience was great. Service was good, prices were fair, food with great flavor, a wide selection of items, open a bit later than other places. This place has a lot to offer. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try if you like Indian food. I was pleasantly surprised by my visit.
If you like Indian food than you'll love the Bombay Hall. This restaurant has great food and excellent service. The staff was attentive to every detail, from topping off our water to asking if we wanted more bread. Note, the restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, but this is one of those instances where you shouldn't judge a book, or in this case a restaurant by its appearance. Takeaway, excellent food and great service. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
This place is great. My husband and I were on our way to another buffet when this one popped up on Google. We decided to give it a try since the reviews were good and a 4.7 rating is pretty great in comparison to others. We were not disappointed. Everything was delicious. Their fresh naan bread... Yum! They have a few choices of spicy dishes, on the mild to medium side. The owner was super nice and found out that I enjoy spicy foods so they made a special dish and brought it out to me. Spicy without the lose of flavor which can be hard to find. Great price for the buffet (9.99 lunch, 11.99 dinner). They keep the place clean and have great service all around. They keep the drinks filled and pick the plates up quickly. They scored 100 on their last health inspection, never seen that. Will definitely go again and highly recommend to everybody.

I love Indian food so I may sound a little critical. If someone wanted to come here to eat, you will get your money’s worth and fresh food. So don’t let this sway you. Food is fresh and the buffet stays full. The flavors are authentic and they were very nice. The naan was burnt though…sad because my wife loved naan. The chicken tandoori ironically was mushy and wayyy too tenderized. Never had chicken like that. The flavors seemed more tamed than most indian places. The mango pudding was awesome and the variety was good. Good food overall just missed the mark in a couple ways. Service was great.

I went there yesterday for my birthday with my Two sons and my brother right from the start I could tell River profiled. The Host I believe is the owner was looking at us like we were going to rob the place. He did not offer us to sit anywhere at a specific location. We were four big guys. And we were looking for space to see comfortable and have early dinner and celebrate my birthday. We all noticed every time we got up to grab food. He kept an eye on us. It was very uncomfortable The food was pretty good and a great fan of Indian food, but I have never experienced that type of behavior from someone. Surely, after a family of three Caucasian walked in and They were offer to sit anywhere at the attention they show them was quite different. As If our money was different From theirs. Perhaps he should put up a sign outside his establishment specifying type of race of customers he wants in his Establishment.

The waitress offered nothing but water and was persistent about rushing us out the door, without giving us an opportunity to order or enjoy the restaurant. Her behaviour was extremely rude and dismissive. Throughout this time, the manager stood nearby and stared at our table continuously in a way that felt inappropriate and intimidating. What made this even more disturbing was watching a white family arrive shortly after and receive warm, attentive, five-star service — a stark and undeniable contrast. The treatment we received felt like racial profiling. I also find it deeply ironic and deeply disappointing that this occurred at Tandoor Palace Indian Restaurant, a restaurant rooted in a culture that understands what it means to be marginalised. No family should feel unwelcome or scrutinised simply for who they are. We will not be returning.
