Wonderful to have a new Mexican restaurant in town. We dined in. Ample parking. The Quesabirria was flavorful with the Mexican onions. The chicken fajitas were tender with lovely char on the veg. I particularly liked the added mushrooms. The chips could be better, but the salsa enhances them. The restaurant is super clean and the staff is friendly. The takeout burritos are also very good.

I love tacos el compa !!! I always get the super carne asada nachos with added whole beans for no additional cost I love that they put a generous amount of meat definitely not skimpy also love the salsa bar the avocado salsa is my fav 😋 the horchata is superior! price matches product and the service is great you can tell it's family owned 👍 support amazing local businesses like El Compa!

Stopped for a bite cause I was starving and man did I pick the right place, tacos el compa was 5 out of 5 in service and quality of food. I think I tried one of each taco and the shrimp tostada. The queso Birria was delicious also. Then at dinner time I told myself I would try the super quesadilla, amazing. Lots of parking and the establishment is very clean. The horchata was so tasteful. Did I mention that I got a michelada? Don’t judge my appetite, lol Definitely recommend and will revisit when I’m in the area.

This was the first time we were there. The service was great. The food was delicious. I ha burrito bowl and found it to larger and more tasty then others I have tried. There are 12 tables for dine in and a huge parking lot, which rare in Castro Valley. They also have a large menu selection. Give it a try.

Hector welcomed us as if we were part of his family and made us a pot of fresh coffee. There is plenty of parking, the restaurant is traditionally decorated and extremely clean, there’s minimum wait to be served, the portions are pretty big: delicious Guadalajara cuisine taste, I just hope they introduce pan dulce or some more desserts besides flan to the menu other than that our first time visiting was great. Thank you for your warm smiles.

This place was delicious! It's a new spot that opened down the street from my mom's. I had the super quesadilla with Carne Asada. It was really good and flavorful. It had sour cream and Pico diguillo and I smothered every with with green chilé whichbis made rwally good. I also really appreciate their salsa bar because you can go refill your own salsas amd get a little bit of everythingincludingthw spicy jalepenos and carrots. Over all I definitely recommend eating here. The place was nice and clean too and theres plenty of parking. I'm definitely looking forward to going back to try more. They have a great looking menu. Also, mom got el pastor tacos. She liked it but felt like the meat was a little too crispy, more dry and crumbly vs thick and juicy with crusted edges. My little one had a plain quesadilla which was basic and good.

Great new place! Very happy to have a good Mexican restaurant within walking distance of our house. So far we've tried the enchiladas plate, the shrimp tostada, a wet super burrito, and the vampiros. Really tasty food and friendly staff.

This place is semi new to the area at the time that I write my review. So that means that it is new and super clean. So already doing great for that reason. The menu is high tech with pictures and electronics that show all the items very with the best menu I have seen in a long time. Excellent graphics and easy to decide! The tables are family style big woth six chairs table in the front and plenty of seating. I do hope that the city of Castro Valley allows outdoor seating for this place soon. They will probably manage it well. The high school kids will love the super nachos and the taco plate, both a great deal. Expect 10-15 bucks or equal to less than an hour of good, hard work at the Inn-n-Outs. So value is definitely there. The speakers and music was wonderful and put right back to my beautiful hotel I stayed at in Tulum just last spring. For that reason, parents should get a nice refresher but no alcohol yet. It’s coming soon. Parking is plentiful so take the whole family out and don’t forget the orange sauce on the salsa bar! Woooowza. In fact, the red salsa looks “meh” but it is really good with a hint of chocolate and smoky peppers!!

Tacos El Campo is an excellent taquaria, with all of the traditional offerings, including numerous breakfast (served all day) options. The facility is recently updated and there is a very nice, clean restroom. The staff is very accomdating and they will make sure you get what you want, the way you want it. Looking forward to many return visits...! Ole!

We missed the old Korean barbecue restaurant that used to be here. But I am so glad to visit the new Mexican restaurant today. The staff is friendly and the food is awesome. The facility is clean with plenty of seating. The parking lot has plenty of parking spots too. The super tacos cannot be contained, literally.

A very nice local taqueria with good service. There are a decent amount of choices of meats and how they are cooked. Additionally, there are corn chips available as well as a hot sauce bar. The meat quality is not the highest, but it matches many other taquerias at this price point.

I paid $13 for 3 tacos & an Agua de Jamaica. Very reasonable prices.

My husband and I were happy to find another good local spot for street tacos. I ordered the carne asada tacos, and my husband ordered the nachos rancheros. The salsa bar had multiple options that were fresh and delicious. We enjoyed our dishes and will definitely be coming back to try other menu items.

Vege burrito want decent. Nothing special, but tasty enough. Love the salsa bar and all you can eat chips. Nachos had a ton of meat and more of a cheese sauce than actuall cheese, but it was yummy. Counter service. Very loud inside.

Not much to look at, interior [or exterior], the food is good. I had 2-tacos/grilled chicken and a soft drink. The salsa bar is small but pretty extensive, with many choices. Pricing is reasonable [10.20, including tax for what I had]. May be the best tacos in CV and one of the best in Alameda Cty. Serving size on the tacos was generous. Street taco-sized corn tortillas were fresh and tasty. Service was polite and competent [no dirty dishes were on any of the tables here] and the salsa bar was immaculate. The only thing I didn't like, was the chips were a bit stale but not overly so. I will return and try something else.

The person that took our order had great customer service! The place is clean and the food did taste good. Not greasy and not over seasoned so you could add all the salsas you want. Free chips and salsa too! The salsas are really good too.

They have a wide variety of options compared to most Mexican taco spots in the area. I say give this place a try.

The food was pretty standard for a taqueria. Fairly decent and the place was very clean and the staff was nice but I have a very strong personal grudge against the giant screen that urges me to tip 20% on an order I’m picking up myself and already costs over $15 just for one meal. I get it’s an important job but unless you had to go into the dangers of the roads by car or wait my table I’m not leaving a tip and I shouldn’t have to when I worked the same job and I would get fired for taking a tip. It’s ridiculous and tipping culture has gotten worse with these giant Ipads that want me to drop another $4 when I had to drive up to the place and take it home myself.

I tried this place twice now. It's simple! Enchiladas were ok. I also tried the "Carne Asada Fries" and was. . . . . . .🤷🏻‍♀️ The "pico de gallo" was not very well balanced. There is too much onion, barely tomatoes. The fries were not fully cooked, really salty, so that made the dish super salty. I hope you consider that. La carne asada sabe mucho a salsa soya. Huele mas como comida asiatica que mexicana.

I got the quesabirria because previous reviews said it was delicious and it was. The beans and rice were lacking flavor. The staff were nice and you order before you sit. I do hope the tweak a few things as far as the food goes

While the restaurant was impressively clean and organized, the experience was deeply disappointing. Google Reviews often highlight that visual appeal doesn't always match food quality. Despite the great first impression, the takeout order consisted of old, "warmed over" food that lacked freshness. It felt as though lower-quality items were reserved for pickup customers. Given this experience, a return visit is unlikely, as the quality was unacceptable.

I'm not mad at el campo. Nice sized portions. Staff is always welcoming and flexible. Able to get there or take out. Bathroom, free chips and salsa bar. Fairly good parking. Torta was average but the fajitas has mushrooms and lots of sour cream 😋

Was looking forward to this place opening up. Prices were a little high but I gave it a chance. Definitely not worth it. I've eaten there twice now to be fair. My last order was 3 super tacos. Meat was really dry and flavor-less. Tortillas were stale. I should have just ordered a bowl of sour cream and cheese cuz that's pretty much what I got. Not going back. 👎

I visited here again , a little Attitude from the lady behind the counter, so the nice guy waited on me , this Time my Order was basically Thrown together with very Sparing amounts of ingredients, it didn't taste as good as the First Time and it was earlier in the day, So maybe Rush hour is the best Hour. A lot of people go there & they are usually very busy, they have a drive through lane too and a take out Menu SO You can call ahead & pick up at the Take Out Window. Could have been a Slow day as we all have them so Please give them a Try. Great Comfort Food.

First time getting food here and we picked up a to-go order recently. I ordered 5 regular tacos (carne asada, langua, and carnitas) (they're street style, which is fine), but all of the meats were bland, super dry and tough with maybe a few tender pieces. The meat in my son's tacos were the same. Also, my daughter had two super tacos which were small and not very super. We were disappointed and do not recommend this place. The best place to get Mexican food in Castro Valley is at the Taqueria inside El Rancho Supermercado on Redwood Rd.

It used to be really good. Now the meat is barely cooked, and you can only eat chips and salsa IN the restaurant. I paid $20 for a crappy burrito. I ate about a 1/3 and threw it out. Id rather go to McDonald's

The food had no taste. The chips aren't fresh. I didn't like anything about it. I find mushrooms in fajitas odd; I have never experienced mushroom in fajitas. There were fatty scrap pieces of chicken used in my fajitas but it was mostly onions mushrooms and tomatoes. They use corn tortillas instead of flour. I cannot say I liked anything.

Normally the tall man that works there gets our order right. The lady that was there last night got the entire order wrong. When my wife opened up her burrito she found Saran Wrap (plastic) in it. We also don’t like that they keep the sauces out in the open which seems very unsanitary. No bueno!

They use the same oil excessively, and the taste of the meat clearly indicates that it comes from a very old animal and that the meat hasn't been stored properly before arriving to this restorant. In addition, the terrible taste of the oil makes for a very unpleasant lunch experience.
