First time here. We ordered the Calamari which was an amazing combination of flavors. The steak salad flavor was very good and a good portion of steak. The angus burger was perfectly cooked as were the crispy fries. The cocktails were potent, well balanced and had great flavors. The service was excellent! 👏🏾 Highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back.
November 2024: Went for a double date here. Same good service and same good food. Still loud and crowded. I suggest definitely making reservations. December 2023: My girlfriends took me here for my birthday dinner. The food and service were great. We were there early. Our reservation was for 5 pm. I highly suggest getting there early. Before we left (around 7p) it was packed, and you would definitely have to scream to be heard. We all ordered the same meal: braised Short ribs. I asked for no cherries in mine. It was amazing. So when you order this, you get it all. It comes wrapped in a pastry, mashed potatoes and asparagus. The gravy/glaze that was over it all just made it all a bit better. We all left full and happy. The dessert menu was a bit skim. My friend ordered a flourless cake slice. She loved it. I have not met a flourless cake I've liked yet. However, I did not try that one. The sweetest wine they had was Riesling. I prefer sweeter but it was good and I had 2. Cheers 🥂🍾
UPDATE- had a wonderful leisurely dinner with 6 friends last night on the patio. Our waiter was Bob and he was very good. Food and drink was very nice. Very nice time last night. Older review- Had dinner here last night with a group of 7 friends. Was a very nice, slow dining experience. We did not feel rushed at all. There was only one waiter who worked diligently, so don't expect right now to be in and out. Their patio is a lovely place to sit. Food was great. We had the Brussels sprouts appetizer, a Cobb salad, the mussels, a burger, and a flat bread. All were prepared nicely and were very good. A large wine list of wines by the glass and bottle. I really liked the pinot noir. Will definitely return.
This place is spot on! I am in town visiting from South Florida and you can't find a place this nice in all of South Florida. It is small and cozy, perfect for date night. The food is spot on, with a nice menu and plenty of choices. And plenty of wine choices. I highly recommend this place, make a reservation as it's a small place.
Been waiting 2 years to have the summer salad martini. It wasn't on the menu but they delieved. I've bragged about it to my Aunt and she finally was able to try it. Alley was a great server to us Thank you for the wonderful hospitality. The cheese board was awesome too. A must tet!
Best food and service in Chagrin Falls area. From the time you walk in to to to the time you leave it’s an incredible expert.
Consistency great food and drinks! The service is always top notch.
Second time my girlfriend and I have been here and the service/food/drinks were outstanding both times. Can't go wrong here, would highly suggest to anyone looking for a spot to go that has the Chagrin charm but isn't in the hustle and bustle of downtown. And if you're worried about portion sizes, don't be when you come here. You will not be leaving with an empty stomach :) will be back soon!
Beautiful place in Chagrin Falls. I was blown away by the food!! I had the Surf n Turf and the wife had the Crab Cakes. Everything was 100%. The presentation of the food was like looking at art! They have a nice whiskey and craft beer selection including JackieO's. I'll be back many times.
Great food. Love the cozy feeling. Very friendly and attentive staff.
My fiancé and I absolutely love coming here. It has a few vegan options (I wish it had more!!), absolutely wonderful drinks, and kind staff! The outdoor patio area is cute, parking is easy, and it's always clean.
This place has a full (but shrinking..?) vegan menu, which is rare for the area. It is also very delicious. Drinks are strong, and the happy hour prices are pretty good. Cool place to hang out if you are in the area and can convince your friend to be designated driver.
The food and service were phenomenal! The food was very fresh and cooked to perfection.
This place is amazing! They altered a menu item for me and it was delicious! Friendly staff, great dinner and drink menu. Will continue to visit!
What a gem off the beaten path in Chagrin Falls. It nice to find a place that has a great imaginative menu and the talent in the Kitchen to execute. The wine selection is quite expansive and good, but it is also affordable. There are restaurants in Chagrin Falls that mark up the wine so high but the Martini Wine Bar keeps this in check and has developed a very nice following. Sometimes the service can be lacking when busy, but you will find that anywhere. The noise level can be offensive to some on the weekends but I personally always enjoy a good crowd than a dead restaurant. We will continue to frequent this place and look forward to the spring menu updates.
We tried the Village Martini & Wine Bar last night and couldn’t have been happier with our first dining experience there. The food and service (Lance) were excellent. We’ll be back soon, with friends.
Though the decor and "bar-ness" of the restaurant do detract a bit, and the super casualness of the staff could be a bit off-putting to some, the food and drinks here are top shelf! The flatbreads are truly divine, especially the mozzarella, mushroom, tomato and spinach flatbread. The grilled cauliflower, asparagus and tomato entree was superb. The Chef is simply an Artist with ingredients. The Chardonnay was wonderful and the Chocolate Martinis were a perfect dessert! The Waiter/Bartender was attentive, calming, helpful and fun. He was perfect for the whole ensemble experience. Highly recommend!
VM&WB is still great! Because of covid etc. we have missed a couple of years here. We had a delicious dinner, the halibut special was SPECIAL. Seasonal house created cocktails keep things interesting, the one or two I pick are always excellent. Fun place, great people, make for a rewarding evening. May 2022, Here we are and Yes, every time we stop by, The Village Martini and Wine Bar gets BETTER. Overall a nice comfortable atmosphere, friendly, down to earth crew, and the food and drinks are the main attractions again. The Greek martini is a little spicy, and full of flavor, like all true martinis it is served up and made with gin. Tonight I had the special, Yellowtail tuna, seared just right, with humus and a special salsa. Five star the whole way!
This place always great. The food is awesome. Great wine list and martini list. Try to get a spot on the patio - that will be the cherry on the top of your visit!
Had a great time at village, easy parking, reservation table was ready when we walked in, food was very good , service was pre COVID quality from a restaurant which was a very pleasant experience and surprise. Will return for sure. Stuffed mushrooms and Angus burger were excellent
For a small restaurant on the edge of Chagrin Falls, the food was delicious and drinks were well made and appropriately priced. I had the ossobucco special and it was incredible. Too bad you can't get it every night! Definitely would go back.
What an amazing restaurant just outside the (overly crowded) "downtown" of Chagrin Falls. They call themselves a wine and martini bar, but the food is is excellent too. Interesting preparations like the crab cakes with bacon, corn and potatoes, and, well, everything my wife and friends have tried. We aren't regulars, but lots of people there seem to be, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. It has a nice vibe. Today was our 4th or 5th visit, and we will definitely be back.
Had a date with the hubby. Martinis were spot on. Food was excellent. We used to frequent here often, but it's been awhile. Just as good as I remember. My husband ordered the Bolognese and the portion was enormous, delicious, too.
One of our favorite spots to visit. Seevice is tip notch. The food is always great, big portions. The atomsphere is perfect for a date night or and evening out with boys.
Tonight was our first visit to Village Wine and Martini bar but it won't be our last! The food was amazing, portions were decent and not too pricey. To make our experience even more enjoyable, we had the best time with our server, Bob! He was by far one of the best servers we have had in a long time! We laughed and joked around with him and he took great care of the four of us. In my opinion, a good server is just as important as the food for an overall exceptional dining experience and Village and Bob delivered on all fronts!
Loved the portion size and flavors of the mussels. Veggie flatbread exceeded the quality of most winery flatbreads. Plenty of Wine and martini selections.
I went here after work once to cool off, they sat me in a dark corner, i felt like a mob boss, or a mushroom, not sure which. Either way the food was palatable and somehow the chef made the steak like in the pictures. IDK what he used to marinate but he got the strip steak as tender as a spinalis and the ribeye was rare and hot all the way through, how that happens is beyond me. any who, I would go again, but i think i want to show up in a white sports coat next time.
Great location and service. A perfect spot for late night options or diner. The menu is excellent, and the drinks are top notch. It is always good to have a full vegan menu which offers first rate options--not variations. The menu is great for every diet and always have interesting options. The fried tofu starter is a great presentation with excellent flavors.
I had the pork chop with potatoes, excellent. They have an outdoor space but it was full when we got there so we ate inside.
I think it was because they were short staffed up front and in the kitchen. One of the meals was lukewarm and main courses took forever.
Our waiter seemed somewhat frustrated right from the get go. when asked what he recommended. He said " I don't know your the one drinking/eating it" 😮. Sometimes, people just need to have an extra measure of grace, specially when people are not regulars. Not to mention spending their hard earned money. We were a party of 10. Our bill alone was over $60. So I was a bite disappointed .
The waiters were nice, but we thought they weren't very attentive. After we ordered it took them a half hour to tell us that the kitchen was backed up and it took over an hour to get our food. The food was fresh but it was just okay.
We had dinner tonight on the patio with another couple. It took an hour to get our appetizer of shrimp cocktail and a salad. We asked a few times what was going on with no apology or explanation from our server other than “we are short staffed”. Our friends, regulars at the VWB were apologizing to us. After 75 minutes or so we finally got our appetizers. Everyone seated around us around the same time we’re finishing their dinners. The server never apologized nor did he offer to make it good by comping our drinks or appetizers. When food finally arrived it was all very good, but left a sour taste for both us and our friends who frequent this establishment.
Use to go there all the time. They need to change the menu or get specials
Went for a bday gathering. Crabcake appetizer was good, mussels were dry, fries were soggy (missed the mark on this dish). Drinks were not good, short rib cajun pasta was room temperature, at best, and flavorless. Perhaps they've never had a large party (we came late) bc we had to ask for silverware, water and salt and pepper. They never came back to the table to refill the water or to remove empty dishes. Multiple ppl at the table ordered the surf and turf but only 2 -3 could get it bc they'd run out of that dish. Someone else ordered the mussels and was told that my husband had ordered the last of those....they knew we were coming as the bday host had called days in advance.
The best thing about this place is its bartender, and then it just stops there. The food is “meh”/ok. There is NO atmosphere here. In many ways it’s just a bland experience. Both times I’ve been here, it was because of significant wait times at other restaurants. Not surprised that there was no wait here either times. You’re better off going down the hill to the restaurants in the little village or up the road to Crumb & Spigot.
Dinner last night with friends. The calamari was delicious. But the Bolonaise must have sat to long in the kitchen, it was hardening thick and sticky. My friend order the Kilbasa & Perogies overcooked & dry. Waiter was not attentive.
My friend and I came here for a girls night out yesterday. I don't think we will ever come back. First of all, I was made to feel like I had to have a reservation to dine there. However, luckily I was able to get a table quickly. Secondly, I had to ask for bread, even though all the other tables had bread on their table. Lastly, it took forever for the food to come out. Then to add insult, 20-30 minutes after placing our order, the waitress tells us that they were out of salmon and that she forgot to tell us. That was super frustrating and a very bad 1st impression.
took almost 2 hours to get food then manager came out and started yelling at people. completely rude
I live in the neighborhood so it pains me that the restaurant is so bad. On the other hand this establishment won't last and will be replaced by a better one, eventually. It's entirely dark in the dining room such that we had to read the menu's via the flashlights on our phone. The waiter answered that the "lights were out" indicating there was an electrical problem. Notwithstanding I had a good martini but served in a glass with someone's lipstick around the rim. The shrimp cocktail was fresh and good tasting and I would have been well to get up and leave at that point. Instead I ordered surf and turf. Well, the surf (shrimp in this case) was good but the turf was inedible. The steak was thick, but all grizzle, served cold and impossible to eat. Another guest at my table had the same experience with his steak. Dessert was worse than the entree's, I didn't realize you could screw dessert up. The ice cream was freezer burned and the chocolate cake was entirely without taste. I have no idea what the bill was because I was the guest of my attorney. I hope I can hold down the part of the meal I was able to consume. BTW, you have to leave the restaurant to use the restroom. Try anywhere else.
If you are looking for good customer service, then do not come to this establishment. After losing a scarf with sentimental value, I called to see if it had been located in their restaurant. Unfortunately, a week had passed by before I realized it was missing and when I spoke to Adam on the phone, he told me they throw things away that customers leave there. I was surprised by this standard of practice and upon questioning him he mocked me for waiting a week to call and then he hung up on me. I would suggest any of the other amazing restaurants and bars in Chagrin Falls where you will find you will be treated with respect and class.
Service was kind of slow, the waitress forgot about my cocktail and it tasted as if they forgot the alcohol. Brought me the wrong dinner. And when my correct dinner came the wedge salad looked as if a 5 year old made it and my flatbread was so overdone it was like a hockey puck.
My daughter is gluten free, my wife and her with some friends went there for dinner, when they asked for gluten free options in their new vegan menu the waiter answered " ice cubes" unlucky I wasn't there or I would have given him " ice cubes" as tipe! Very very impolite. Anyway the food except that my daughter ate was good.
Don’t waste your money. Escargot on puff pastry was lukewarm and tasteless. Probably from a can. Surf(shrimp) ok but the steak was tough and flavorless.the lighting was terrible. Could barely see the mess they served me.
Alex who is the manager was incredibly rude and had an attitude towards my whole party as though we were an inconvenience. I was nice te whole evening and was appalled by his horribly inappropriate behavior. Never coming back after being treated terribly.
Saw the owner/manager come out and yell at a table of four elderly people for asking about their food after waiting almost two hours. I am pretty sure there are better ways to problem solve this situation. There is never a good reason to treat a customer this way.
We were there for dinner Friday night. Waited 2 hours for our dinner. Server Never came back to ask if we needed another drink, water or anything. 2hr 10mins later she says "it will be a little longer" pretty back. Then they replied to my review and said "don't ever come back./ if you couldn't see we were absolutely slammed, we don't need your business, drop in the bucket" WOW, what a reply to a customer's bad experience. Being slammed is not the customer's problem. maybe limit the amount of people you take in so to give great service to the ones that are eating. OH and the table next to us also got up and left after 2 hrs as well. Well I hope this encourages you to look closer at how you treat future customers.
Staff was awful. Surly, rude, cared more about doing shots with bar guests than taking care of their tables. Sat at a hi top(little room to begin with) and couldn't get plates or glassware taken away even after repeatedly asking. Original beer glass among other things were still left on the table as we left and wouldn't be surprised if it's still there today. Food was not that good, muscles were awful. I NEVER write reviews, but our experience from the minute we walked in until we left was terrible! Funny thing, our server even said it wasn't a busy night. Will NEVER go back!
Last weekend, my wife and I decided to treat ourselves at Village Martini & Wine Bar in Chagrin falls, a restaurant which was highly recommended by our foodie friend. Expectations were high, and our appetites even higher. Once seated, our waitress, all smiles and pleasantries, took our orders, beginning with an exotic appetizer and a cocktail that seemed to have my name written on it. We launched into a conversation about the week gone by, fully expecting the drinks and starters to join the party soon. Time passed, the minutes ticking away but undiscernible in the cacophony of chatty diners trying to converse over the too loud music drowning us out. We glanced at our watches, then at the still-empty tabletop, realizing that neither the appetizer nor the cocktail had arrived. Our waitress seemed caught in her own world, occasionally glancing our way with a vague promise in her eyes that the cocktail would materialize soon. Despite the delay, we placed our entrée orders, still optimistic. The clock ticked on. Forty-five minutes later, the appetizer finally arrived, its appearance no longer a cause for celebration. An hour later, the elusive cocktail made its grand entrance, only to find that my anticipation had withered, as the ice cubes had nearly entirely melted, and the diluted liquid sloshed over the top. One sip and I knew that the taste matched its unappealing appearance. I sent it back. Upon receiving the bill, I found the forsaken cocktail still on the tab. The manager’s refusal to remove it from the bill led to a terse exchange, ultimately resulting in me calling my credit card company to dispute the charge. The ordeal left a bitter taste, unlike anything I’d experienced in my varied dining adventures. Had the restaurant’s staff been trained in the fine art of customer care, not only would we have left satisfied, but we would likely have returned. Instead, we were left with a lesson in what to avoid, a cautionary tale we’ll be sure to share. Even the one star rating is one star too many given to this place.
I sent an email to your business over a month ago with no response at all. Will not be returning. Very unfortunate. Good afternoon! I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to write to you regarding a visit myself and 2 friends had this past Saturday evening. My friend ordered a glass of wine and an extremely evident lipstick mark was on the glass. We then noticed it was on one of the water glasses also. Our server did remedy the situation once we brought it to his attention. It was just strange that it passed 2 peoples eyes before reaching our table. The same friend ordered a pizza and the crust was totally black on at least one side. She didn’t want it remade and ate around it because the time to remake would have been too long. I had accidentally dropped my fork on the floor and had asked for new silverware once the main meals were presented. It was at least a full 5 minutes before a set was presented. My friend had got up and asked someone else for some so I could enjoy the food while hot and with them. We all work in the service industry and understand being short staffed, which perhaps was the issue and we could only assume as everyone working was zipping around doing many things. It was all of our first times, we were at an event at …⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We frequent ….. and hope our next visit is better Regards,
