We come to Bills Chelmsford every Sunday with our little dog. Today, Iulia was our server. She’s always quick and efficient. I love that. To be fair, the whole team are lovely. The food is always spot on. Service is great. Our fave place to visit. Massive bonus that it’s dog friendly so Teddy can come with us. Becca found us the perfect table to accommodate us with our little dog

Amazing place for Christmas work party, had sooo much fun. All the staff were amazing and particularly David hosted us very well, really enjoyed our time here!

Stopped off for a quick breakfast at Bill’s and honestly had such a great start to the day thanks to Lauren. She was warm, welcoming and genuinely lovely from the moment we arrived, even though it was a really quick visit. Our order was taken straight away, everything came out perfectly, and she made us feel really looked after without ever being over the top. It’s rare you notice service so much on a short stop, but Lauren’s friendly attitude and easy, positive energy really stood out. A big credit to the team – we’ll definitely be back!

Popped into Bill’s for a family lunch to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Even though the place was buzzing and super busy, the vibe was totally chilled—we never felt rushed once. ​The Food: Spot on. Proper good grub. ​The Team: Huge shout-out to Brad and the crew. They were absolute legends and made the afternoon feel extra special. The birthday sparkle and surprise brownie was a top-tier touch.

We ordered the family feast tonight from Bills and it was amazing, it was on time, hot and so so fresh. Our family has had a bit of a bad time with losing someone we love. And honestly such a simple thing like a hand note saying they hope we enjoyed and the food being so fresh and amazing. It meant such a lot, I even rang up to say thank you! Thank you staff at Bills we are so appreciative. Definitely order from here!!

Came as a work party of 17. The staff were attentive and friendly, food all came out at the same time and was assigned to a name so we knew what our dishes were. The food was really good, no complaints at all. Really great service for such a large table.

Recently, I attended a Christmas brunch with my work team, and we received absolutely incredible service from Mate. He was very attentive, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcome. We will definitely be coming back because of the happy and positive way he treated us. I truly hope everyone at Bill’s treats him very well. He is an amazing employee and a real credit to your team :)

We had a fantastic experience at Bills in Chelmsford. The food was great, but what really made the evening special was the team. Mate and Alex were incredibly attentive from the moment we arrived and went out of their way to help us celebrate my son's birthday.

Dining at Bill’s Restaurant & Bar is always a treat, but what truly made this visit unforgettable was Becca. From the moment we were seated, Becca brought an energy to the table that was warm, genuine, and effortlessly professional. She didn’t just take our order — she curated our experience. Her menu knowledge was exceptional; she offered thoughtful recommendations, described dishes with enthusiasm and detail, and made us feel confident in every choice we made. What stood out most was her attentiveness. Our glasses were never empty, every course arrived seamlessly, and she checked in at exactly the right moments — present without ever being intrusive. She seemed to anticipate what we needed before we even realized it ourselves. That level of awareness is rare and speaks volumes about her dedication. Beyond her efficiency, Becca’s personality elevated the entire evening. She was friendly without being overfamiliar, engaging without being overwhelming, and she treated our table with the kind of care that makes you feel genuinely valued as a guest rather than just another booking. In hospitality, the difference between a good meal and a memorable experience is the person guiding it — and Becca is that difference. She is a true asset to Bill’s, and we will absolutely be returning, hoping to be lucky enough to sit in her section again.

Kristof and Tim are a real credit to Bill’s in Chelmsford! They couldn’t do enough for us last night, kindly offering our dog a free ice cream from their extensive doggy menu! We have been to Bill’s several times in different locations and each visit has been a real joy. Grandkids do love the pancakes of course! Always have a great time engaging with staff, making it an easy choice to revisit. Used the 20% off discount code too. So it’s a win win.

Had a lovely meal! The food was great, but the highlight was the excellent service from Iulia. Very friendly, attentive she made us feel genuinely welcome. Brilliant experience all round, will definitely be back!

Thoroughly enjoyed eating my halloumi shawarma - it was filling and so delicious - including hummus, sour cream, flat bread and salad. All round a good worth of money. The atmosphere was lovely and aesthetic - my only gripe is that one of the sofas we were sat on was torn and we could see the foam peaking through. Also, had a brilliant time with the bottomless pancakes - they were so fluffy and the syrup so sweet and succulent that honestly it was more than I could have wished for. Does get a bit sickening after 3+ rounds though!

Always one of my favourite places to go for brunch/lunch. Very friendly staff. Good selection of vegetarian options. Particularly loved the Halloumi Shawarma and the Hippie Bowl. Blue light card discount is applicable.

Great service and food for a quick an easy lunch. Staff were all friendly and attentive. Great location along the river as well with plenty of outdoor seating available.

The best Hot Chocolate ever I tasted here only. You have to visit this place as you will get a beautiful outdoor sitting near the riverside. The food tasted good.

I went in for lotus biscoff pancakes. They were delicious and fluffy although they were a bit dry. Maybe more syrup would add more taste. Service was great. Would try again but with more syrup maybe.

Excellent food and customer service. We went with a group of 15 and everyone really enjoyed their time. The duck starter was lovely and fiery 🔥 However the steak was a tad chewy. Although cooked well. Also would like more lager and ale choice. The waiting staff were so attentive and friendly. Another downer was that a dog was allowed in the restaurant. Not great eating with a huge dog sitting on the table next to you. Overall, I would definitely be back again 🙂

Lovely restaurant nice outdoor area to seat when the weather is nice, food looks amazing, had chicken burger and chips, classic lunch choice will never go wrong, only inconvenient thing is this place is CARD payment only for the bill, and the reminder is tiny on the menu/promo advert on the table didn’t even notice until nearly finish the food.

Beautiful restaurant. With plenty of choices. The calamari is delicious! The chicken burger was a little dry, and the mayo was quite spicy. So neither of us managed to finish it. The desserts were lovely and well presented. The staff did a wonderful job of being attentive and welcoming. Overall a good experience and I would definitely return to try their other main dishes.

Had a lovely brunch here. Good price and good varied selection. I had a vegetarian brunch. Toilets on ground level and individual cubicles with a sink.

Came here for brunch ahead of a London theatre trip. Good and comprehensive list of breakfast choices with meat and meat-free brunch specials. The brunch was good value for money and had everything you would expect on the plate.

Well not my choice of venue. The restaurant was very quiet but for some reason we were put near a large family group that became quite loud. I suppose we could have moved but we didn't know. I just had some Korean fries and was quite shocked how small the portion was for £6.25. Maybe a bit out of touch as a pint of Peroni was £7.25. The decor is nice inside and there is some seating outside. The staff were attentive and friendly although one a bit abrupt.

⸻ I booked a table at Bill’s to celebrate my 30th birthday with a friend, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. We had reserved our table in advance and arrived on time. We were only there for just over an hour and were still eating our desserts when we were told we had just 15 minutes left at the table. This hadn’t been made clear to us when booking or on arrival. As we had two newborn babies with us, this made the situation quite stressful. We felt rushed and ended up having to leave our desserts unfinished so we could gather our things and attend to the babies. It really felt like we were being hurried out, which was upsetting given it was meant to be a special birthday celebration. I completely understand that restaurants may have time limits, especially if they’re busy, but clearer communication and a bit more consideration would have made a big difference. Sadly, this experience left a negative impression on what should have been a lovely occasion.
