Restaurant Review... 6 of us had dinner at the start of dinner service at 5:00pm on a summer Friday. We sat outside on stools at a pub height table in the shade. Wait staff was friendly and brought us waters immediately and took drink orders in a timely fashion after dropping off menus. Drinks arrived quickly without mistake and everyone was ready to order. Fish and Chips, Pan Seared Sea Bass, Wagyu Steak, New York Steak, and Smoked Brisket Tacos were the entrees ordered. Everyone was happy, the food was delicious, no complaints–just empty plates and full bellies at the end of our meals. Their house beers are good. It was an excellent dinner experience and reasonably priced. I will go back next time I'm in Chester at Lake Almanor.

This place is great. I stayed in the motel and the restaurant was a bonus. I was there for two nights and I think my room was called the lumberjack room. It may have been bigger than the others. It felt like an apartment. I really like what they did with the place. Has a lot of character in a local touch. If you’re looking for a chain, Motel, this is not it. Check in was easy. Contactless. They sent me a text with the code to open the door. Easy. The restaurant across the street was phenomenal. I had a New York strip with mashed potatoes and a light of beer, check the nights at the restaurant is open. I think they’re closed a couple nights a week. I would definitely stay here again.

Great food and atmosphere. I ordered the special chicken salad sandwich and it was delicious. The staff was friendly as well.

What a treat to stay in such a uniquely decorated and centrally located lodge! Loved every part of it. We stayed in the Gypsy Soul suite and it was roomy, very clean, quite, and decorated nicely. The Timber House restaurant and bar being next door was a great added bonus. Nice bar, good food and great service. We already made our reservation for next year!

I have been wanting to try this place for a while now and last night was my first time and it did not disappoint! We came on the busy holiday weekend and were able to get a table outside in the shade. Outside seating was very comfortable outdoor padded patio furniture, there were fun games for the kids to play while we waited for food which was great to keep them entertained. Food was excellent! I had the Alfredo, my hubby had the filet and my friends had the prawns pasta dish and a salmon dish. One thing that stood out to us, we had asked for a drink that wasn’t something normally made and initially were told that it wasn’t something that could be made, it wasn’t really a big deal as there were other tasty cocktails on the menu but the manager or maybe the owner (not sure) over heard this came back and surprised us with the drink at no charge! Very nice touch especially on a busy weekend! Definitely recommend this place and will be back again. Thank you Timber house for an excellent experience

This was my first time here. Food was amazing and in large portions. Our server Sarah was very sweet and attentive. The environment was calm. The bathrooms were very clean. I will be recommending this place.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at the lodge and restaurant. We stayed in the Rebel Heart room, which was cozy and adorably decorated. The plug-in fireplace also added some extra warmth since it was expected to snow. For dinner, I had the pulled pork tacos and he had the grilled chicken sandwich. Both were delicious and I admire the staff for staying on top of everything despite the busy dinner rush. We had a wonderful weekend and we hope to visit again.

We were pleasantly surprised and impressed at the attention to detail and pride of ownership of the lodge and restaurant/brewery/distillery. Our room was clean and super comfortable. The food was fresh and delicious. Loved our drinks. We would recommend this place!!

This review is for the restaurant. Excellent service from Sarah! Sarah was friendly and super accommodating for our entire meal. Dinner was wonderful. The sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly and my lettuce wrap was full of flavor and freshness. What a gem!

The brewpub is excellent! The food, the atmosphere and service were all top notch. The beer and cocktails were also a hit. I will definitely come back here again and highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. There’s lovely indoor and outdoor seating. Outside, dogs are allowed.

We stayed at the lodge after visiting Lassen Volcanic. Had an easy check-in, a very clean, quiet room, comfortable bed and hot shower. Attention to detail was impressive, everything we needed was provided.

Unfortunately we were there on a Tuesday night so we couldn't enjoy the restaurant and brewery. The themed rooms were very cute, the showers were big and modern, great beds, very comfortable. I didn't even have to use my own pillow, the provided pillows were better.

This review is for the lodge. We had a fantastic stay. VERY clean rooms with super comfortable beds, brand new bathrooms/showers, super fast and simple check in, convenient location and good price. We ended up at the Timber House Lodge by chance after a crazy day of travel attempting to get out of the Tahoe basin with pass closures in that area. Then with an unexpected closure of hwy 70 we went up the hill to Chester. With conditions deteriorating in the evening, we couldn't continue any longer and needed a place to hole up for the night. Timber House was a true sanctuary for us and we couldn't be more grateful for the hospitality we received. Thank you so much! We hope to return under more traditional circumstances and explore Lake Almanor and Lassen National Park - and try the Brewery, too, which looks awesome! 100% recommended. Thank you again.

They were both excellent (especially the steak, the mushroom/garlic/wine sauce is to die for). We got the brisket ta os and linguine *i added caramelized whiskey onions* and they were both amazing as well. Overall one of the tastiest restaraunts ive been to in a while, with everything being consistently good.

We got the herb grilled chicken meal and the chicken caprese sandwich and they both were delicious!! My fiancé claims it’s the best chicken he’s ever had!! Highly recommend!

I had soup for lunch and side dish of pulled pork. I met a friend there. Nice atmosphere and service; however they don’t even have gluten free buns nor bread! For those of us with a wheat allergy it is difficult dining out. Most people think it’s just some fad diet “gluten free” but I can assure you that it is a lifestyle and a health concern more than anything. I hope to be able to visit again and try dinner.

The porter (not the PB one) is great! The bartender was knowledgeable and friendly. I ordered the chicken caprese sandwich. It was pretty good, but not sure why they called it a caprese as if there was basil on it I could barely detect it, and it had cucumber and other unusual choices in the ingredients. It also fell apart as I was eating but overall still a nice sandwich. My wife ordered the seared Ahi, and that was a 10 out of 10. Not a huge quantity but made perfectly.

Great location for checking out things around Almanoir and Lassen. The rooms are a little bit noisy. Other than that everything was great. The attached restaurant is awesome! Best, food!

The porter (not the PB one) is great! The bartender was knowledgeable and friendly. I ordered the chicken caprese sandwich. It was pretty good, but not sure why they called it a caprese as if there was basil on it I could barely detect it, and it had cucumber and other unusual choices in the ingredients. It also fell apart as I was eating but overall still a nice sandwich. My wife ordered the seared Ahi, and that was a 10 out of 10. Not a huge quantity but made perfectly.

Service was fine, Rooms were good. Good beer. Food was absolutely horrible. The pulled pork sandwich isn't even real pulled pork. Food is dry and flavorless. Would've been a 4 star if they do a complete menu revamp.
