Cozy place with perfect cocktails. Look for Michael the bartender. He made the best cocktails ever
Lovely evening spot! Can wait until the open the rooftop!
Do you want to feel a magic? Then you should see bartender Mike. Drinks that he makes is out of this world. Pure magic
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Selva, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish! We kicked off our night with some amazing drinks, including their Agave Flight, the Intro to Mezcal, and the standout cocktail, THE G.O.A.T. Each sip was a delightful journey through unique flavors that perfectly complemented the vibrant atmosphere. The food was equally impressive. We indulged in the Chicken Tinga Tacos, which were bursting with flavor, and the Quesadilla, which was cheesy and satisfying. The Sun Cloud dish added a refreshing twist, while the Totopos and Tostones provided the perfect crunchy accompaniment. Every bite was a testament to the kitchen’s talent and creativity. The entertainment was the icing on the cake. We were captivated by some of the best burlesque dancers, who kept the energy high and our toes tapping throughout the evening. Their performances added a playful and engaging element to our night. To end our evening on a sweet note, we enjoyed the Warm Spiced Chocolate Cookie. It was the perfect finish—soft, rich, and indulgent, leaving us with a smile on our faces. Overall, Selva hit all the right notes with exceptional drinks, delicious food, and fantastic entertainment. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun night out!
It was my step daughters birthday and after we left our dinner location we stopped here to have a few drinks before we went home. We haven’t been here in about a year. It was originally the acme hotel and I’m thinking after a sale and a few renovations.. selva emerged.. even better than ever.. we only stayed for about a hour.. but we had a great time.. I just wish we had more time but maybe next time..
The best bartender I've ever seen. He really loves his job and knows absolutely everything about it! Look for Michael the bartender with a gorgeous beard and just tell your preferences to taste and he will do what you will fall in love with (I had to drink 6 cocktails)
Walking into Selva Lounge feels like stepping into another world one where the city noise fades and you’re immediately wrapped in a warm, magnetic energy. The vibe is effortlessly cool and incredibly inviting. Selva isn’t just a lounge; it’s a whole experience. From the atmosphere to the people, the music to the drinks everything comes together so naturally. If you're looking for a spot that’s equal parts chill and electric, where the night feels both laid-back and unforgettable, this is it.
Nice and cozy place, tasty smashed double burger and the best part of this place is the bar and Michael in particular! He’s a real magician at work. You can just tell what would you like to taste in your cocktail and he’ll bring it to life in the best possible way. Just try it yourself and you’ll never ever think about going to another bartender.
Great place in the heart of Fulton Market with delicious cocktails! Special shout out to the bartender Michael who has been absolutely professional and amazing. He recommended us cocktails and they were so delicious! Can’t wait to go back again!
Loved the place! The atmosphere and cocktails are amazing! Michael did a great job with all of my picky requests, thank you! Definitely will be back🫶
I came to enjoy a drink, which I did, the margarita was good & the bartender & the staff was friendly & very welcoming.
Awesome food, service n atmosphere. Really luved the music 🎶
Excellent service. The decor was nice especially at sunset. Food was tasty as well.
Selva is a great spot tucked away in the Emily Hotel. I loved the curated cocktail menu especially the Oaxaca Old-Fashioned and Tacos de hongos.
Was in town for a night and stayed at the Emily Hotel. Selva is a pretty chill roof top spot. Would definitely recommend.
Christina was the best bartender ever!! She made me a custom drink it was delicious!!
Sebastian was an awesome server and very patient with our table !! Shoutout to him
Went for happy hour. Great tacos! Loved the view!
Really unique atmosphere - service was great and rooftop was awesome
Great drinks and apps in an amazing rooftop bar!
Great service and food and the rooftop is so cute and cozy. Highly recommend!
We were a big group of 15 and the staff were extremely accommodating, allowing us to arrive early, asking/paying attention to food allergies, and serving our drinks and food quickly. The drinks and food were really good, and the view was amazing. Highly recommend Selva!
Was there yesterday with my friend! We came to watch a movie at the rooftop cinema and afterwards wanted to get a nice dinner! The staff and service were fantastic! Atmosphere and vibe was very quiet and classy. Food and drinks came quick and were amazing. Recommend this restaurant and will for sure come back!
My wife and I had a lovely evening. The cocktails were unique and tasty. The tacos were excellent. After the meal we had one of the agave flights. That was a fun tasting experience, we are both tequila/mezcal fans and enjoyed it a lot. To wrap the whole experience we got the Selva Sunday, highly recommend!
I came to Selva for the first time and really enjoyed it! Great views and service. The manager Chris was great and incredibly helpful. We can't wait to come back.
A VIBE. it's gorgeous especially since it is located in Fulton market there is a beautiful view of the sunset. Selva is located on the 7th floor! The perfect atmosphere for an impressive date night! Tis a bit pricey but worth a beautiful night out on the town and to enjoy a drink outside on the balcony.
Good food, great atmosphere and the best bartender in the world Michael! His drinks cannot be described in words, they have to be tasted! He will raise your favorite drinks to the next level, and if you are not sure about your choice, he will surprise you with amazing drinks after collecting some information about your preferences! Professionalism is simply off the charts! Ask him about any bottle at the bar and he will tell you where, how and when that alcohol was made!
we checked into the emily hotel late at night and was pleasantly surprised to learn there was a bar on the rooftop. the hotel even gave us a voucher for free tacos, so of course we had to check it out. it was super packed but we were able to grab a table for two. the view is pretty impressive for how far it is from downtown. my partner + i ordered the chips and three dips, carnitas tacos and buffalo chicken tacos. the cape berry salsa and guac was INCREDIBLE. the red salsa was meh, i think the chef needs to rework it because it looked and tasted like jarred tomato sauce. tacos were all delicious and a good portion. their cocktails are pretty impressive. i enjoyed the ekto kooler (subtle licorice flavor) and smoke show. our waiter was super friendly and took good care of us. he made great recommendations and made us feel welcomed our first night in chicago. if it weren't for the red salsa, i would of given this spot five stars :)
Got off to a slow start service wise as it took a bit to get someone to come to the table but once we got a server it was good from there. Drinks were solid as we prices for the most part. The best part though is the open air patio and the view. Also music selection by staff was very good, and looked like they had a dj coming in later if that is your vibe. Recommended.
Great space with tasty Mexican food. Super cocktails with talented bar staff. Thumbs up. Also, the outdoor patio was perfect. Fantastic views.
While technically a rooftop bar area, Selva did not feel like a rooftop patio. The drinks were good, even though service was a bit slow and the music was too loud for there too be chill conversation.
We had some drinks on the rooftop and it was a great vibe! The drinks are on the pricier side but taste good. Service was a bit slow but nothing to ruin the mood. The seating and atmosphere was comfortable. Doesn't entirely feel like a rooftop since it is very covered and the office building next door ruins the views.... But it's still fun.
Wish they had a non-alcoholic section on the menu. Asked if they could make a non-alc cocktail and they said they could make a lemonade or something sweet. It’s 2024, we gotta be able to have more thoughtful/less childlike options than that 😬
Just ok. 2 tacos = 14 dollars. Valet parking 32 dollars. Will not return.
Service was great. Drinks were delicious food was average.
Highly recommend!
Nice place, bartender was nice as well. $50 for 2 drinks that didn't even have a shot of alcohol between them was disappointing.
No wonder there’s no guys here lol $25 a drink I wouldn’t come here either! The drinks are delicious but not $25 worth. First and last time here. Nice view and reggaeton but damn! Exploitation at its finest! 4pm paying $25 a drink lol
I imagine this to be a nice place in summer, last week however it was a somewhat sad atmosphere. Drinks were not up to the level expected, some classics simply tasted wrong. Food was ok-ish but nothing I would come back for again…way to many better options around 🤷🏻♂️ Also, left something behind which could not be recoverd - nothing too valuable, still disappointing.
The atmosphere is very nice, waiter was over the day it seems it was just very dry personally! Burger was good but we did feel discriminated against as well! Wouldn’t return
It was ok.... Very expensive and our bartender wasn't the friendliest... I guess he was having a bad night or something... He seemed kind of irritated that I didn't know how to do the tip on the card reader and he didn't even say thank you for his tip... It was a cozy spot for a few cocktails and the music was good but I won't be going back...
The waitress wiped the bar area for us, but left it soaking wet. I asked for a napkin, you know, because it was visibly wet, and she visibly threw a tantrum before getting another towel to dry off the area. Ordered chips & salsa along with a taco order…bartender conveniently “forgot” to put in our order, then gave us attitude when we questioned him about his forgetfulness. If you’re looking for a bar near the rooftop cinema, DON’T COME HERE!
The bartender was extremely rude. There were 4 other people there and he didn’t help us. We ended up leaving.
Dont come here if youre not white, you will not get served even when its totally empty :/
This unprofessional place will never get my money. I booked my 10 person reservation for my birthday 2 weeks ago from this review, got a call 1 hr before my reservation and was told that there was a private event and that they can seat us at Fora and compensate us for the inconvenience and get us back up to Selva at 10. I said it was fine. 20 mins later I get an email that my reservation was canceled. Tried calling, immediately sent to VM.
Truly an experience you'll want to skip. Came here yesterday and got off the elevator and no one was at the hostess stand. Waited and then we went around the corner and the place was empty and saw a woman cleaning the window. I thought the place was closed, we went outdoors and everyone was outside. We sat down and the bartender asked if we wanted drinks. I asked for sparkling water. He goes and opens a bottle and gives me a glass of ice and left both in front of me. Not pouring the drink. He takes off and when he finally comes back, I ask for a straw. He brings the straw with his bare hands and throws it on the bar. My husband's drink came without a garnish, he liked the taste though. The word hospitality is defined as " the friendly and generous reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, or strangers." This bar doesn't eminiate any of these qualities. The bartender hated his job and it showed. The attire isn't something I would find at a place whose marketing material promotes it as a craft cocktail bar and one that was created by a former employee of a Michelin star chef. The baseball caps and over the top graphic shirts belong at a sports bar. Overall this place was absolutely terrible.
Made reservations because I’ve heard good things about this place. Drove from an hour away only to be told the kitchen closed early because the chef called off. Why would you not have replacements for a time like this? Just terrible all around, never again.
We had a horrific experience at this bar. I was with a friend who ordered a glass of wine at a corporate holiday party and was refused service. She was not drunk and he looked at her “eyes” and said “I’m not serving you”, despite the fact there were other extremely drunk people around us. What a horrendous experience. I will never come back.
to be a fun day party with friends. The service was shockingly rude from start to finish — dismissive, condescending, and openly hostile for no reason. Instead of creating a fun, welcoming vibe, the staff treated us like an inconvenience.
Saturday night in Chicago go to Selva to celebrate a friend's bday after we had dinner. We arrive our party is already here. When we get to the host stand we're told we have to wait because they are "at capacity" but I can clearly see the place is half empty so make it make sense. Then the guy says oh it's because we're short staffed my friend says we're not eating we just want to meet our friends, we're still told to wait. As we are texting our friends we are leaving 3 people walk out and leave so theoretically I would think we can go in now since 3 left and it's only 2 of us...Wrong. The guy says the capacity rules are for "everyones safety". I've been here several times and spent my hard earned money. I've never experienced such poor treatment. If it had been packed (which I've seen on other visits) I would understand but it's literally half empty in here wide open spaces at the bar, booths, and outside. As we're leaving the guy says you can come in now. I'll keep my couple dollars to myself.
