Opinions de Staytion Market & Bar Chicago
My partner and I had a staycation at a local hotel and had dinner here. Great service, food was fantastic and I loved the vibe. My partner agreed. We would like to try it again.
The Mac and cheese, the grilled cheese sliders and our drinks were great!
First time visiting the hotel and it was cold/windy/outside so we weren’t really interested in walking about the city. Food was excellent, vibe was high end and comfortable. Eileen, our server, was helpful and friendly, even providing suggestions for future activities. She also gave us the story of Malort, a staple in Chicago. Definitely would come again.
Absolutely outstanding food and service. This is the chefs special sandwich and believe me you won’t be disappointed!! A simple beef sandwich at a hotel restaurant is somehow transformed into one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Even if you’re not staying at the hotel , give this one a shot
The drinks and food were good. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was great.
Great Espresso Martinis
Staytion Market & Bar was a great surprise during my stay at the Renaissance. The atmosphere is lively yet comfortable—perfect for a casual drink or a relaxed meal. I tried the Etole chicken wings and they were absolutely fantastic, perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. The service was excellent as well—the staff were attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. It’s clear they really care about their guests. Highly recommend stopping by whether you’re staying at the hotel or just looking for a great spot in downtown Chicago!
Food is the ingredient that binds us together. There's nothing you will not enjoy at Staytion Market & Bar. The food is phenomenal, and drinks are lovely. No matter if you're just at the hotel or stopping in before you go to a play, just enjoy yourself with good food and drinks. Ask for GUILLAUME, Molly sent you.
Staytion Market & Bar is chic yet comfortable, with great food, creative drinks, and friendly service—perfect for any occasion in downtown Chicago!
We did the sit down portion of this restaurant - towards the back with all the seating. I’m not sure if that makes a difference in my review, but for clarity. This spot is nothing short of amazing and I’ll be honest, I was hesitant since a lot of restaurants in hotels fall flat. Food was phenomenal, drinks were well-curated and the service was immaculate. A few standouts for me from the menu: • quesabirria egg rolls are unreal & so flavorful • crispy chicken torta is flavorful and so juicy • elote wings have such a good dry rub & the dipping sauce they serve with them is SO good • ube panna cotta is one of the best desserts I’ve had recently and has several different textures and flavors Highly recommend coming here even if you’re not traveling & just live in the city itself. The drinks are really good too and great for the price.
Big sizes and amazing food.
That mixologist Kevin is pretty kewl
Grilled cheese was good :)
Convenient and good food.
Fantastic place!
Nice place to relax
Very Chic for a hotel bar. Lots of folks stop in here for drinks because it's so nice inside. Very open and lots of seating for friends and business associates to gather away from the bar. The food is very good. As always the hotel food is expensive. This food is tasty and some items are healthy choices. They serve sandwiches to steak and pizza. The Italian sausage and mushroom is a nice change of pace. My steaks have been perfectly cooked each day. This is the coldest day ever and many eating places are closed due to weather but these folks are here talking care of us business travelers.
Fast and friendly service at the bar! Sliders were very good!! Great place in the lobby to grab a bite and people watch!
Best grilled cheese + tomato soup side car I've had in my entire life. Gouda + pickles? Brilliant. Please send me the recipe as I don't live in Chicago. I'll sign an NDA ;-)
We ate two meals here while we stayed here at the Renaissance hotel The food was great for lunch and dinner Our server happened to be the same person and she was the best ever Thank you for providing such a nice place to eat and relax
Had a great time here for drinks and light dinner . Great servers and menu. Sarah was very nice supplier great service. Definitely will be back for the food and good drink options.
Nice semi casual hotel restaurant. But honestly, for the money you could do a lot better. Pizza was better than nothing but this is Chicago and there's a Lou Malnatis two blocks from here so...
Grilled cheese is the best I've ever had. The $1 homemade house chips comes with an amazing mushroom aioli.
Wes & Sarah were fantastic bartenders. Their signature mules were refreshing & delicious.
Great atmosphere and the food was very good. We were there for a light breakfast.
Great service and the grilled cheese is delicious
Watch out for Pickpocket! That's all I want to remind you. Cocktail quality is better than lots of hotel or restaurant bars. Awesome bartender, but there's not much vibe as 3rd floor Lifted, and service wise Lifted is way much better, so I would suggest go to 3rd floor.
The ambiance is incredible, and the staff is friendly and relaxed. It's a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a drink. However, the carrot cake is mediocre.
Nice for a hotel bar and coffee bar.
Staytion Market & Bar is a solid pick for a laid-back meal in the Loop. I stopped by for brunch and had the buttermilk pancakes and the portobello egg skillet. The pancakes were fluffy and came with warm maple syrup, while the skillet was hearty with fresh veggies and melted cheddar. The atmosphere is modern and cozy, with a full bar and TVs for catching the game. Service was friendly, though a bit slow during peak hours. Overall, a great spot for a casual bite with a view.
My friends and I came here during our visit to Chicago last week. Everything in the area was booked because of the DNC, and we were booking last minute but we were happy to find a spot here. It's located inside a hotel, and I was actually shocked that they didn't have many patrons! It is a very modern, loungy, and cool vibe, so I liked the atmosphere. The drink menu had good options, I am typically picky but they had a nice variety and I was choosing between a couple, which the server helped me narrow down. The four of us ladies split a few different dishes: the chicken wings with elote, the French fries, the ribeye, and the meatballs. The drinks were tasty and the food was pretty good! We were definitely satisfied with our meal and had service from friendly staff as well. Would definitely recommend!
The food was good, but if you wanted anything like a spoon or butter or milk for your tea, you either waited 20 minutes (There was like 1 or 2 waiters) or you had to get it yourself from the buffet and we ate a la carte.
The server here was very helpful in addressing our son's food allergies. Much appreciated. Portions were large, food was very good for a hotel bar.
A very mixed experience here as I was staying at the Renaissance Hotel where the cafe/bar is situated. Having a captured audience works well for them. The oatmeal breakfast was good and I was able to order cream to go with it instead of honey. The service on the whole is appalling. I did try an eat there for convenience more than anything on several occasions but after 20minutes of waiting with no acknowledgment that I was even there (even when not busy) I chose to leave. I went up to the 3rd floor Raised Urban Bar instead where the service is good. On my last day the young lady with the black visor served me and for the first time in 6 days I received a smile. She was polite and friendly. Apart from this, not one smile from anyone and when I naively asked one lady who kept passing me the first time I was there, she said tersely ‘I’ll get to you’ - she did eventually and then forgot what my order was. As I said, convenience and a captured audience is why they are in business. I also have to admit the coffee was generally good.
This place has some great views of hussle and bussle in downtown and right next to the river! I guess I can start with the menu... It was hard for me to understand what exactly I was planning to eat with my order. The server did take a bit of time to come to our table but was otherwise fine. The food however was GREAT, as it should be for the price. If you are staying the hotel its nice to have a good food option but if you are in the city and have time to explore I would recommend getting out and trying something more dynamic in Chicago.
hotel/ loop prices.. good food... supper oblivious staff
Chinese rice was 70%salt 30%rice.😫
Four friends went during restaurant week before a play we planned to see. Reservations were at 5pm. By 7pm, we didn't have our food. When we arrived, there was one table with guests. During our stay, the restaurant filled and emptied several times. No main course. When we tried to leave and make it to the play that started at 8pm, it took a long time to get the bill. We spoke to the manager who was defensive and unapologetic. He said because we ate off the restaurant week menu, our food had a different "process" in the kitchen. Don't go here for restaurant week.
Bartender is racist. I sat there for ten minutes asking for the bartender and raising my hand to signal, the guy is actively ignoring me and serving the white guests who came later. When it’s my turn he told me someone’s sitting here and I decided to just leave. Really rare for this type of experience this day and age, a shame given I’m still a hotel guest
The pictures in the Google pictures are very misleading and they need to change it. I came here for the rooftop listed in picture and “panoramic views” described, and I was very confused when I got there because the place looked completely different than the pictures. I asked around and apparently the pictures are from the “old” staytion. The place is on the first floor and has no panoramic views and does not have the rooftop views in the pictures. The place looks completely different and it’s basically false marketing. The photos and description are all false.
Food was terrible. Got a sandwich with bread so hard I couldn't eat the ends of the loaf..stone cold when it was supposedly grilled, with tasteless chips on the side. Fiance got a salad that smelled like rot. Took a surprisingly long time to get this terrible food too. Chicago has tons of great food; don't waste a meal on this dump.
Flagrantly, shockingly, ridiculously overpriced- had a "cobb" salad that was almost ENTIRELY lettuce and it was thirty American dollars. Unreal.
My first time here and bar service was unfortunately terrible. It took 45 minutes to notice no service for me and my guest . I'm still waiting.
No wifi, no service, no air conditioner. Too loud, too crowded and too damn hot!
