I recently visited Caravan Uzbek Cuisine and really enjoyed the experience. I ordered samsa, chicken soup, manti, lamb chops, and the lula plate. The samsa was hot, flaky, and filled with flavorful meat—perfect as a starter. The chicken soup was light and comforting, with tender chicken and a clean, homemade taste. The manti were large, juicy, and came with a nice yogurt sauce. Both the lamb chops and lula kebab were grilled perfectly—tender, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. Service was friendly, and the restaurant had a cozy, authentic feel. If you’re looking to try Uzbek food, this is a great spot to check out!

My wife and I decided to give this restaurant a try instead of going to our usual eatery. To say that we were positively surprised by the quality of food (taste and the way it was cooked) and the vibrant atmosphere of this Uzbek restaurant is to say nothing. My wife is into Middle-Eastern food as she lived there for 30 years and she knows all about it. At the end of our meal in Caravan, she said that it was the best restaurant so far for that kind of food. I may not be that specific, but I definitely liked it a lot. We are already planning to come back to this place again and to bring our friends here, too. The only drawback was that the place is so much popular that sometimes you would need to wait for quite a while. So, if you are planning to go there, try to chose not crowded times (if you can)

This is our family's number one choice! Delicious, juicy shashlik, amazing samsa, and the waiters are very polite! Special thanks to the restaurant owners, who cook in the kitchen and help the waiters! Keep in mind that you can only tip the waiters in cash, so even if we pay by card, we tip in cash separately!

Really good food and solid spot overall. The Uzbek dishes taste authentic and fresh. We had plov, kebabs, and soup and everything was on point. Portions are big and prices are fair. Alla Was fantastic. The place is clean, comfortable, and the staff is friendly. Service was fast and we didn’t feel rushed. Definitely a nice place for a relaxed dinner. If you like Central Asian food or want to try something different, this spot is worth it. I’ll be back.

The portion sizes are small but the taste is 10stars. This is the best bbq platter we have in Sacramento. The playter that is for 4 people is actually good for two.

Good food and friendly multilingual staff. I just wish we could order in Uzbek next time ;) , but I am glad that there are many language options for customers. It was nice to see the regional variations of foods that are familiar from other cultures, it is very interesting to compare them. My friends also enjoyed comparing Uzbek versions of salads and kebobs to those of their own culture.

I’ve read a few of the reviews here and was honestly surprised. Some people say the food is tasteless or cold, and that the staff is unfriendly… but my own experience has been completely different. I’ve been to this restaurant several times, and every time the food was fresh and delicious. The staff has always been welcoming and attentive. What impressed me even more is that, although I don’t personally know the owners, they came out on several occasions to ask guests if everything was good, if the food was tasty, and if we were satisfied. That kind of personal attention shows they truly care about their customers. That’s why it’s disappointing to see negative comments here — I honestly believe those reviews must be from competitors, because the reality is completely the opposite. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is friendly, and the prices are very affordable. I can confidently recommend this restaurant — it’s delicious, cozy, and genuinely hospitable!

Caravan Uzbek Cuisine offers a truly special dining experience that goes beyond just a meal. The atmosphere is amazing, with beautiful decor that makes you feel as if you've been transported to Central Asia. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, creating a perfect setting for family dinners or gatherings with friends. The staff are incredibly attentive and friendly, and their genuine hospitality enhances the dining experience. The food is outstanding, with rich, authentic flavors that are deeply satisfying. All the food served is halal. The menu features a variety of classic Uzbek dishes, and a few standouts are a must-try. The Plov, a fragrant rice dish with tender lamb or beef, carrots, and spices, is a national favorite for a reason. The Lagman, a hearty noodle soup, is both comforting and delicious. For those who enjoy dumplings, the Manti, filled with spiced meat and onions, are absolutely divine. Beyond these mainstays, the restaurant also serves succulent kebabs grilled to perfection over charcoal, including chicken and beef options. While the food is excellent, it's worth noting that the portions are a little small. The combination of the beautiful atmosphere, attentive staff, and incredibly delicious and authentic halal food makes Caravan Uzbek Cuisine a place you will want to return to again and again.

Amazing. Great little place. I did a take out order, I don’t usually review unless I dine in, but I was impressed with the staff, the food, the decorations. I got a Shawarma. And, while it was difficult from the one I was introduced too, it was absolutely delicious. The juice went everywhere, but it was worth the mess. Will definitely be back to try other dishes.

The cozy atmosphere and authentic hospitality make “Karavan” one of the best restaurants for a romantic dinner or a warm gathering with family and friends. I highly recommend it to everyone! Ample parking, convenient location. Small restaurant with 6 tables that comfortably seats 4 each. Friendly staff, quick service. The food was fresh and hot. We ordered quite a few dishes( see photos), and everything tasted good. Definitely try their fries, crunchy but not greasy.

Perfect Uzbek food, great owners and staff. We took like 8 dishes, all were tasty. Definitely 5/5! Update Aug 30 2025: we took Meet Combo for 2: it's awesome! Pure delight. We drive to Caravan 2.3-3 hrs from San Jose and it's totally worth it, one of our favorite restaurants and staff is the best!

I had the opportunity to visit this wonderful place, I can say yes the food is truly delicious, amazing, is worth it to pay for the food, you will not regret it. The atmosphere is amazing, the hospitality is fantastic, cleanliness is above and beyond compared with other local restaurants, no bad smell no food on the floor, no waiting time, very clean service. It was an fabulous experience to eat my lunch at this place.

Caravan in Citrus Heights is a fantastic place to enjoy authentic Uzbek cuisine! Every dish was rich in flavor, well-seasoned, and served in generous portions. You can really taste the freshness and homemade quality. The staff is amazing, friendly, patient, and provided excellent service from start to finish. The atmosphere is welcoming and the restaurant is very clean. This has become one of my favorite spots in the Sacramento area for truly delicious Uzbek food. I will definitely be coming back!

3.5 stars for the food and an extra 0.5 stars for the ambiance and interior. There is a lot of parking outside. They have a cool looking almost 3D mural of a decorated hallway that makes you feel you could walk through it. The whole place is decorated with folky art, plates, statues, etc. There is a whole wall of the dessert scene with camels. The light fixtures are super interesting. Service was fine but I think the server could have given us more details of what the food is, since we don't know much about the cuisine. We ordered the manti and lamb kazan kebab with a side of bread. The manti is basically dumplings or momos. It would have been much more educational if the menu said that. The minced meat inside was good but we would have liked more seasoning. We were told it comes with a yogurt sauce. It isn't a sauce, just yogurt that has been beaten up to make it smoother. We would have liked a little effort for this "sauce" - maybe add some salt and pepper, some paprika? The lamb kezan kabab comes with potatoes and a salad with a tart vinaigrette. The lamb was delicious and properly cooked. It was easy to take it off the bone and the fat from it added a lot of flavor. However, it was plain. It would be nice to have some spices added to the lamb when it is being cooked. Some of the potato was still a little raw. The potatoes needed seasoning. The salad was fine. Since the kebab doesn't come with bread, we ordered bread and got store bought bread pieces. We expected something like a naan, which this was not. I don't know what one order of bread looks like. We had two orders and we got 3 pieces. All in all, our food was decent, but they should work on seasoning and adding spices for flavor. The portions are small for the prices but filling

My overall experience: Upon walking in: This place was clean top and bottom. I was greeted very graciously by the attentive staff. Tables very well placed with booths and some seated chair tables. Again, overall nice and clean. Utensils spotless, beverage glass crystal clear! Everything was super clean. Ordering: To be clear, this is my first time with Usbek Cuisine so bear with me. I ordered the Malti and did not know what that was, but took a chance. It was very good, but did not realize that this was dumplings with meat, spices and onions it seemed. Very good flavor however a little "bland", but for the most part seemed very well prepared. Once again, I do not know Usbek cuisine, so I cannot gauge the food as far as that is concerned. Ambiance: I was there for lunch, only two folks in the restaurant at the time, but 4 more joined later, but it was a bit stark but not bad. Notes: This seems like fine dining with a paper napkin flare. Not complaining, but with a beautiful plate, extravagant silverware, one would expect a cloth napkin, but it was paper, oh well. Prices are up there, but not bad, but seem higher in a slightly lower scale neighborhood. TBH, it seems this place should be in another area as it seems out of place. Bathrooms, nice and clean, spotless and inviting. Overall: I will try this place again. I want to explore other items on the menu. I would suggest trying this establishment. Rated 4 stars. Please thumbs up if you found this review helpful. Have a wonderful day.

Good, simple meat dishes. Plov (pilaf) was seasoned with cumin, which blended surprisingly well with raisins, and came topped with shredded beef. Lamb chops had little seasoning, but were cooked nicely. Attentive service, pleasant modern atmosphere

We traveled from Lake Tahoe to try this place for the first time, and overall the experience was very good. I highly recommend it to others; however, the prices are quite high compared to similar restaurants in Sacramento. I also hope they consider opening another location in San Francisco.

TO THE PERSON REPLYING TO REVIEWS: you are very rude. This was our first time trying ur restaurant because it looked good on social media. I dont usually leave bad reviews if u check my page. But your inability to take feedback from customers is shocking. I tried other places that are more expensive than urs and their food tastes great which is valued for the price. If you decide to have expensive prices, then ur food should reflect the price. U guys spent way too much time making the restaurant look good that u forgot to actually focus on ur food quality to meet the expectations of the price tag u guys have. I had a business before and I valued customer feedback to make my place better. It’s a shame u don’t, because people can change their reviews, which I will not be doing from ur rude response. Please take some time off and reflect on yourself and figure out why you hate people so much, and maybe a restaurant business isn’t something u should continue in. Have a wonderful day. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Very underwhelming. We got it to go. We spent $118 dollars 1 Side of rice is $6, I barely got a cup of rice. Rice is cheap people, so unpleasant. Each meal was supposed to come with a side of onions, for 4 meal meals, we got 1 side of onions. Wow. Menu is VERY under described. $21 for Lula kebab WITHOUT RICE OR potatoes, $23 for Lula kebab with potatoes. You can’t even call it a meal when u have to buy meat for $21, side of rice for $6 and barely any onions. And no salad, u want salad? Ur paying extra for it. Meat is ok. But definitely not worth the money. Will not come back. This is way too overpriced. A family of 4- 2 kids and 2 adults, spent $118 for a meal that is not nearly satisfying.

I regret to share that my recent experience at Caravan - Uzbek Cuisine was disappointing. The service was notably slow, with our food taking over an hour to arrive. Throughout the meal, the waiter repeatedly asked what we had ordered, which was both redundant and unprofessional. Unfortunately, the quality of the food did not meet expectations; most dishes appeared stale, and nothing seemed freshly prepared, aside from the water. Additionally, I observed some concerning customer service ethics that further impacted our dining experience. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this restaurant based on this visit. I hope they take feedback seriously to improve both their food quality and customer service in the future.

I had posted this review before, but I removed it because you asked me to. However, I didn’t like the shawarma you prepared at all. We couldn’t even finish it. It was very hard, dry, and tasteless. Please pay more attention to this. The only thing we really liked was the plov it was very delicious. The restaurant’s appearance and the service are great.
