We have been here several times we like to support small businesses- my favorite was the dark drunken fried rice is very tasty very few places make it -they where nice to support our large group
I’ve been wanting to come here for years. Finally my wife and I stopped here on the way home and glad we did. Very friendly service. Fantastic food. And I dig the chill and inviting atmosphere. Will definitely be back. The Panang Curry is highly recommended.
Everything was so great! I can’t count how many times I said “mmmm 😋.” The Tom yum and Tom car soups were so flavorful and appetizing (10/10). The green curry had a nice kick to it and the chicken was well cooked (7/10 - watery, and lacked that intense green curry flavor but had an excellent hint of lemongrass. Also a drawback was that they did not sell rice with the curry and charged extra for rice which was a little dry). The Thai iced tea was a great way to wash down the spice. The service was fast and attentive and our waiter was very nice. I definitely recommend coming here! Unfortunately, there is no cocktail menu. They had a ton of mocktails but no cocktails!! They only served beer and wine and did not allow wine sampling. Of their two wine options, the cab sauv was mediocre. Overall, everything was very well priced. Keep in mind, they do not accept American Express.
My husband and I went to dinner with a couple friends this evening. This was the first time we have eaten at Bua, and everything everyone ordered was fantastic. I had a fried rice dish with beef , with a sauce and it was the best fried rice I’ve ever eaten. The atmosphere is very pretty and the prices are very reasonable. One of our friends enjoyed the food , atmosphere, service so much that he asked for a card. My husband and I go out to dinner with him frequently and we’ve never seen our friend ask for a card, so I know he enjoyed the food , service and atmosphere, as we did.
Love this establishment. Food is well seasoned and fresh. Service is excellent and very welcoming staff.
Very good food. Very nice staff. Great price and large portions you could easily share with 2 people. Beautiful serene atmosphere. It’s not more expensive than the other nearby Thai place even though it says it is. I went there and it was noisy so I switched to Bua and had a lovely experience.
My absolute favorite in the Village :) I love the Combination Meat Pad See Ew so much that I've probably eaten it 6 times already here. I also really like the staff because they're always so warm and welcoming. Pretty big portions too for the price. Will probably be my favorite in the Village always 😋
Bua Thai Cuisine is an absolute gem! We ordered the Thai spring rolls, apple salad, stuffed mushrooms, chicken phad Thai, and the combination phad see ew — and every single dish was bursting with authentic flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. The attention to detail in the seasoning and presentation really stood out — you can taste the care in every bite. The service was top-notch — friendly, attentive, and quick without ever feeling rushed. The ambiance is warm, cozy, and family-oriented, making it the perfect place for a relaxing dinner or casual get-together. It’s rare to find a restaurant that nails every aspect — food, service, and atmosphere — but Bua Thai Cuisine truly does. Highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious, authentic Thai food in Claremont!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this Thai restaurant and I must say, it left quite an impression. Walking into the restaurant, I immediately noticed how clean and tidy everything was, which set a positive tone for the meal. While the service was decent, it was the food that truly stole the show. Every dish was bursting with flavor, showcasing the authenticity and skill of the chefs. From the aromatic curries to the perfectly balanced spring rolls, each bite was a delightful journey for the taste buds. Overall, my experience here was one to remember. The amazing flavors and inviting atmosphere have left me eager to return and explore more of their menu. If you're craving delicious and authentic Thai cuisine, look no further. I'll definitely be back for more!
Honestly not much to complain. It does the job. The portions are mighty good and the spice levels can go real high if you like. From the Thai places I’ve tried this is one of my favorites. Although the fried chicken wonton apps were quite thin, they were pretty tasty.
Gluten Free Options. Very tasty Thai options. The Pineapple fried rice, stuffed mushrooms and Stir Fry beef were excellent.
This place has awesome food and the service staff is wonderful and kind. The portions are good size and easily shareable. I recommend sticking with mild spiciness if you're not adventurous with spice!
Excellent place to eat Thai food. I have been coming back every 4 months with an hour drive just to enjoy this great restaurant. Totally worth recommending the place and great restaurant to bring family and friends, for sure. Service is outstanding always, very patient, helpful and friendly. Thanks Bua Thai and please keep up your great work.
Tranquil vibes and delicious food at a reasonable price. Great getaway from the bustle of campus. Perfect for studying in peace or meet with friends. Highly recommend!

I chose the chow mein and it was wonderful. The juices were full of flavor and just a wonderful meal all together.
Savory food. Won ton soup was yummy. Pineapple fried rice was ok. The big noodle entry was a win for the family. I think the big noodle entry was call bammee or something. So sorry, I can’t remember the name.
I went for lunch and got the Tom Yum. Great flavor! The ambiance and decorations are nice
Thai food here is solid. The lunch specials are fantastic! I have only been in person which all three times have been good thai food. Noodle and curry dishes were standouts.

Food was fairly good but the duck breast meat was overcooked. Mushroom appetizer was excellent as was the soup with coconut milk. Food came too rapidly and crowded the table. I do plan to eat there again. Prices were modest for what you get and the location was great.
First time trying this place not a local of Claremont. The food was good and the servers were very friendly. I thought the portions could be a big larger. The portions are good to share for two people anymore it might be a bit small. In all the food was good service was good and the restroom were clean, they didn't have a diaper changer which would have been nice but I think I would go back next time I'm in the area and in the mood for Thai.
Very beautifully decorated restaurant! I came in during lunch hour and was delighted to see that they had a lunch special for only $12! You choose from a select group of main dishes, type of rice, and one type of salad and steamed veggies. I had a chicken red curry with white rice. Good, standard curry although the veggies were honestly a bit bitter but the rest was good.
Food is delicious and has lots of flavors. Price is reasonable comparing to other places in the area. Staff is very attentive. However, the rice was outdated so we asked for a bowl of fresh one and paid $2.
The food was well prepared and presented, but it came out very slowly and it was difficult to find a server. The pad Thai was delicious and the Tom yum was served in a nice heating pot. The boys loved the yellow curry and we were all filled with three dishes.

Visited Dec. 1st 2023, ordered 5 dishes but only ate 3. First of all they took aver 30 minutes just to bring the only 3 dishes (Egg noodles) and the restaurant was not even full to take this amount of time. The taste was amazing so I love the food. I was waiting for the other 2 dishes (duck and curry) but never arrived so I asked the servers and they had no idea. Then they told me they forgot and If i wanted to wait longer for the food. I then said no and left the place still hungry. The food is good but they need to focus.
Nice place, not the best food but not bad. Male waiter was nice but the female one was scary looking.
I think it is unfair to judge the restaurant for its authenticity of Thai cuisine. The place is nicely decorated with a good service. However, the dishes are fusion Thai food. The Pad Thai tastes like sweet lemon sauce without a touch of chili spiciness. Good portion but not exciting..
This place is nice and the food is good but for some reason the staff is angry. They don’t want to be bothered and walk around with sour faces. If the staff is not welcoming no matter how good the food is you don’t feel welcomed and not return. I will not return due to the staffing. Other Thai places with good food and welcoming. Seek other places that are glad to see you!
Went here for dinner the other night. It is a nice place. It's your standard Thai family style restaurant. You can order plates to Share and they have lunches specials too. The portions are not enormous, but getting 2 or 3 items will feed 4 easily. If you are looking for giant portions this isn't your place then. They also have some good appetizers too. The selection is , for most items, pick what you want and then select your meat option to go with it. They offer Tofu and just vegetables too. So you can actually order the same thing and just get a different meat so it's a new flavor. I Got the Cashew Nut & Dried Chili with Chicken, the Drunken Rice with Chicken and the Glass Noodles Salad. It was all really good and filling. You can really get a lot of different items to mix and match. As for drinks you will be able to get Water, Soda and Teas. I know they had beer, but wasn't really looking to see what other Alcohol they had. Overall it was a nice place and the staff was very friendly. It was a little slow but not so much that your waiting a very long time, but be patient as they are a small staff, which is pretty typical for a shop like this. . They also have to go orders and order ahead, so that is always an option for you too. I will be coming back.

Came here today to celebrate my friend's birthday and mine. Huge disappointment! The water was the first thing I noticed. It had an old off taste. We both ordered from the lunch specials. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai which was ridiculously sweet and lukewarm. The salad was very bland, and the steamed vegetable were literally teetering cold. My friend had the same experience but also complained (to me) that her brown rice was cold. My ŵhite rice was okay. I will not return! I don't know why I would bother but I took the left overs home and my husband took a bite of the Pad Thai and said it was awful!
The food is not authentic thai style but good. The worst part was the staff seemed angry and behaved rude. One person, specifically, didn't reply to my thank you, hello, etc. keeping her sour face. When she guided to my seat, when I said thank you, when I paid at the front bc my amex was not accepted and left decent amount of tip (for kind staff members) I had my last meal in Claremont and they made my last impression bad. I will not return due to the staffing.
Service and restaurant are nice but the food is not good. If you are used to solid Thai food in LA you will be disappointed here. Pad Thai was super oily and clumped together, and didn't taste like Pad Thai at all. Stir fry dish also had no discernable flavor. Very light on the protein.
The food was pretty good, but they had an attitude. We were a party of two, it wasn’t busy so we asked for one of the bigger tables in the patio. They said no because they might need it. We understood so we left it alone. But later on during our meal, they sat two ladies at a bigger table and when we left it was just them two. It was a bit irritating. Then we ordered Thai iced coffee but they brought out iced tea. When we brought this to their attention, they apologized and didn’t bother to fix their mistake, so we paid for the drink and left. We wanted to order dessert but cancelled since it rubbed us the wrong way.
This food really sucked! Being a Chef and loving good Thai food I was very disappointed. Over cooked fish, nasty noodles, icebergs lettuce, gross stuffed mushrooms. Good Drunken Fried Rice with too much salt! This place is nice & the area is great but the food sucks! It's made for bland people. I've been to some great Thai places like Ayara and King Thai, but this was horrible! What a waste of $200 foe our party!

Food has no seasoning. No Thai Basil. Served fast, yet warm, not hot. No sear on veg, protein, or noodles. Swimming in sauce. Leaving food unfinished. First time. I never imagined Thai food so bad with so much competition in the area. Pad See Ew with shrimp and Crispy Noodle with veg. Nice to ask if we wanted vegan or were ok with fish sauce (we said yes to include fish sauce). None of these flavors evident. Plus, it was all overly sweet. A lot of added sugar like the recipes were throwbacks to the 1970s.
Discriminated against my disabled wife and wanted to put us out on the patio in 60 degree weather.
I used to go here all the time and always thought it was just okay. Thought I’d give it another chance tonight, and it was pretty bad. The staff are not friendly, fried rice was bad…idk how you mess up fried rice. Also saw a worker go into the bathroom and not wash their hands when going back to work…never going here again. Not good Thai food.
I cannot speak to the food, however, we arrived on a Sunday evening before bringing our daughter back to her dorm. Party of 6 (me, hubby, daughters ages 19, 9, and 7, and toddler). The hostess looked perplexed that we walked in and asked if we had a reservation. Nowhere did it say reservations were required, so we were very confused. The hostess proceeded to look around the restaurant, which had only 4 parties seated inside. He asked if we wanted to sit outside, to which I inquired if it was heated, since it is a cold winter night, here in Socal. He replied no, and didn't provide any explanation as to why he made it seem like reservations were required. We were all dressed casually in sweatshirts (again cold), and perhaps because he saw our toddler didn't want us to eat there? No explanation, no apology, no clue. Whatever the case, this was one of the most demeaning experiences I've ever had. And in front of my children! I hope they are held accountable for these business practices, and or publish somewhere that reservations are required. Thank God for Olive Garden saving the night.
I ordered the pad Thai and some of the meat literally tasted rotten and I had to spit it out into a napkin. Rotten in that it had gone bad/rancid. Absolutely one of the most disgusting experiences I’ve ever had with food. It’s been a few hours and I don’t seem to have food poisoning. The restaurant was about 10% full at lunchtime on Saturday. That probably should’ve been a sign of things to come. I have no familiarity with Claremont and completely relied on the good reviews when deciding to dine there.
Disgusting and awful food and horrible service. Like majority of other people said, the waitresses are just mean and for no reason at all. From slamming food and drinks on our table to talking to us with attitudes as soon as we enter. Also the food was just flavorless and gross.
Nancy, the server is so rude. She slammed items in the table, looked at my table with disdain and overall made the experience uncomfortable. The food was good. My friends and I normally order via the mobile app which is why we felt comfortable coming in person. The man was welcoming- but Nancy, I’m not sure why she was so angry. There is a promotion where if you follow them they will give you free tea or coffee. She didn’t even want to give it to us. It feels discriminatory- since she was nice to other non-minority customers.
