We were fortunate to get reservations for Christmas Eve as most restaurants were closed for the evening. We were astounded by the huge crowd, but were well treated by the staff as they not only coped with so many people but a chef who was taken by ambulance a short time before our arrival. Our waitress was not only gracious she was energetic, always smiling and made us completely comfortable. All of us enjoyed our dinners. My husband and I actually enjoyed ours so much we had the same dinner at our annual New Years Eve dinner with friends. This us definitely one of our favorite restaurants.
The food and service were top notch. The restaurant itself is out of the way enough to have never gone to nor heard of. If you want really good Italian, it's hard to imagine this place not being one of the best! Small baptism party was the perfect place to go. Will be back I'm sure of that .
Ordered the pizza to go tonight! So good. I love the sauce since the owners changed. Lon is the best waiter ever and he is worth coming to the restaurant for top notch service. This is our favorite restaurant. We have come for double dates, family dinners and special date nights. Food and service is always top quality.
Let me start by saying, we set up a reservation for 7pm on a Saturday. When we arrived 15 minutes early they immediately seated is at our table witch I thought was amazing. Staff is very friendly and service was great! We had to try the homemade mozzarella sticks and they were fantastic! Do yourself a favor and order some cannolis for desert👍👍👍👍👍
I cant say enough. This place can cook up some delicious dishes and the portions are huge. I love it. It's a must try for delicious Italian dishes. My god I'd give them 100 stars I'd I could. Just love it here. Vodka con pasta 5 stars
My sister and I had fish fry battered, clam chowder and tempura shrimp. Loved every thing. The homemade warm bread too. The foreword was beautiful to look at and tasted perfect. A very comfortable place. The ser ice treated us like family. Will go back soon.
Had a fantastic dinner experience for Valentine’s Day. Huge portions, outstanding Italian food, and great service. The Arancini was fantastic! The hostess Veronica was so friendly and so nice, and the entire staff did a great job!
Very good. Sauce is a touch sweet, but overall good. Great service, very nice ambience. Quality place, and well rounded menu. I had the chicken parm. Great quality chicken, not a frozen patty, butterflied and huge! Enough for 2 people easy! Wine selection was also nice and fair price. I wore jeans and a nice shirt and felt comfortable
Went for Thanksgiving Buffet. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff was very courteous from Veronica seating is to our waitress to the staff in the buffet area. The turkey was moist and flavorful. Fettuccine Alfredo was amazing.
Went for the 4 course dinner special they had for restaurant week ($20.16 per person) and we all thought it was the best restaurant in the area. My parents, my fiancee and I all got something different and we all kept stealing bites off each other's plates. Much better quality and larger portions than Paynes and better tasting than chefs. Outstanding service as well. There is a fine line between a waiter not stopping enough and stopping to much and ours was perfect. I can't remember his name but he could very well of been the best waiter I've ever had.
Had a delicious dinner here and it was wonderful! Did the full apps, meal, and coffees, and drinks throughout...everything we had was amazing! There wasnt a single thing I could complain about. John, our server, was excellent and helped make it a perfect meal! Some of the best Italian around! I would recommend to anyone.
Frank went above and beyond to make my nanas bday special, the food is always amazing! And a highly recommend this place!
We brought out of town guests ( 11 of us all together) for an early dinner and we couldn't have been more pleased. Lon, our server, was wonderful...so friendly, welcoming and accommodating, yet thorough, and very efficient. The food was great and quite plentiful and the atmosphere is what I would describe as casual & cozy elegance. All in all, very satisfied!
My girlfriend and I went for our anniversary and let me just say, the food was absolutely incredible. I come from a very Italian family and I truly believe the food was quite authentic. The service was great and everyone was super friendly. I got the fettuccine Alfredo and it was delicious. We also got the chocolate strawberry mouse cake for dessert and it was very rich and had a yummy Oreo crust. Would rate this place 10/10 and cannot wait to go back again soon!!
Had an 8:00pm reservation for dinner, which we made just the day before, with my wife and mother in-law. We were 15 minutes late, and sat at the bar for no more than 15 minutes while waiting for our table to be ready. Very busy with a lot of large tables seated. We were weary that we would be there a while. However, the service was great given how busy and short staffed they were. Very accommodating and pleasant through it all! Thank you & happy new year!
Ambience was great, well lit Italian feel. Our server was excellent, appetizers and food were perfect and came out in good time. Extensive menu and good wine deals. Went there for my moms birthday, we left very full and happy. Entree portions are huge.
I had my daughter-in-laws bridal shower there this past weekend and it turned out perfect!!! The food was AMAZING and the service was great too. They were very accommodating to a couple of my guests that had dietary restrictions as well. I highly recommend them for any type of event in their nice banquet rooms. They had the room set up very nicely. I’ve received many messages from my family and friends that attended the shower and they all raved over how good the food was. Thanks Orazios for making our bride-to-be’s day special . I give them 5 stars!
Marie is PHENOMINAL! She has become our absolute favorite waitress. She provides amazing service and has a great personality. Of all the restaurants in the area we could choose from, we come here to feel like family with Marie. The food and wine is delicious and this has become our go-to Italian eatery. Highly recommend!!
I had the chicken Milanese, and it was a large meal. I ended up taking half of it home and having it for lunch the next day. The waitress Abby was very kind and gave us great recommendations on food and wine!
After another dining experience did not work out for our monthly diner club 9 of us stopped here with no reservations and they accommodated us without issue. Turned out it was one of our best dining experiences so far. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was nice and the service was stellar. I wish I could remember our waiters name but he was great. Sorry we didn’t get you your ice cream. He will know what I am talking about. He was witty and attentive. The atmosphere was quiet and pleasant. We sat at a round table and we could actually talk to each other and were able to hear what was said. The food had great flavor profiles and cooked perfectly. We just had a wonderful experience. Thanks to all that made this months dinner club experience special.
All I can say is Amazing!! The mozzarella sticks were outstanding!! We will be back to enjoy the food served here. Totally satisfied with the service and the food!! Glad they are open again!
Had a 10 person celebration gathering and an amazing food experience. Everything from start to finish was delicious. The staff fantastic. The broth the mussels was in was delicious and great for bread dipping. The truffle cream sauce in the beef papardelle to die for. Super large servings. No one was unhappy. You are not getting away cheap, but well worth it. We had a nice private area in the back that we reserved online.
We had 9 at our table. Server was awesome. Food was very good. We all loved the bread and dipping oil. But the chicken in my fettuccine Alfredo was dry and hard to chew. I didn't eat it. But I was still charged $10 for the chicken. Ugh. But I would come back. We weren't offered dessert tho. Would've liked to see the options.
Went for the first time on my birthday with my husband, sister and brother in law. First the waitress said we couldn't split the check, but seeing as it wasn't busy she would do it this time! Then she said if we shared anything, she would bring an extra plate and a cup of soup for $8 extra dollars? Food was amazing. The soup was delicious. We all had food left over and the waitress said she would bring us the styrofoam containers otherwise we would be charged for take out containers! Then when she came back to take our payments, she was looking for her pen and thought we took it!?! Of course we didn't and she found it. Second time I went, just hubby and I. We had a different waitress and a different experience. No story to tell you this time. Food was fantastic. Expect to spend a few bucks though.
We booked a private event with Orazio's at the last minute, in December nonetheless, due to a cancelation from another venue. Frank was very accommodating and treated us like family. We had never been here before and that is a bit of a risk, especially for a special event. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent, and all of our guests were satisfied. They helped turn a stressful situation into one we didn't have to worry about. We are looking forward to eating dinner here sometime in the future.
Always a wonderful experience visiting Orazio’s! Very cozy atmosphere with delicious food and excellent service! Make sure you come very hungry, given very generous portions and variety of Italian dishes and desserts! It was not the first time we ate here and we’ll definitely come for more!
The food here is amazing. We started off with mozzarella sticks, and they were the largest I have ever seen!! Double or triple what regular ones are, and you get five of them. We also ordered a meatball as appetizer because we love them, and for $1.75 you get a baseball sized meatball with their delicious red sauce. The salads we got were average, but their homemade bread and butter is the best!! Our meals were just gigantic and so good. My husband got the lasagna and I got chicken Amelia, which is chicken, mushrooms, tomatoes, and broccoli in a garlic, oil, and wine sauce served over pasta. We each took half of our entrees home. I highly recommend this place, and we go every year on our anniversary because our wedding reception was there.
Went to Orazios last night during valentines weekend. Very busy, the hostess was very nice and accommodating. The server was very efficient (Marie) recommended everything we ordered from clams casino for appetizer to the special Salmon dish, my wife ordered the Dimanzo which was excellent. The food took quite awhile but we were enjoying our night out and cocktails that the server recommended were fantastic. Thank you for making our evening special
We've dined at Orazio's many times and the food and service is always great, and plentiful. On this visit we were quite disappointed that they weren't honoring the Entertainment Book discount - this was same as last year. Last year it was due to reduced dining capacity and we were fine with that given the struggling restaurant industry. But this time, per the sign on the door, the discount wasn't honored because of rising costs, stating they haven't raised prices and therefore isn't honoring the offer. While their prices remain fair, they have raised prices. Afterall, we pay for the Entertainment Book and while there may be some unusual circumstances, to not honor the offer two years in a row (unsure of exactly how long in total they've not been honoring) doesn't seem right. We still love their food but if they are going to continue to not honor their offers, discontinue participating in the Entertainment Book.
We ordered dinners on their website for takeout. There was an option to have the food brought out to your car and even asked for the make, model and color. My husband sat in the parking lot for 15 minutes before going in waiting for our order. He finally went in and was told by the hostess to go to the bar and it was sitting there waiting. Why have that option on the website if it doesn’t happen? Also, we were charged $2 for their house salad dressing which couldn’t cost any more than other dressing but regardless, we paid it and didn’t even get the right dressing. The food was good but the whole experience was annoying.
Although they were out of milk for one guest out of 14, (that's why the 4 stars) the food was great as well as the service. Amy was our server and she was very personable. Everyone took home a portion of their food as the food was more than we expected. Also the price for 14 people was very responsible.
My husband and I enjoyed our meal. We had great waitress who made sure we had everything we ordered in a timely manner. Just expect to pay a little more, some of the menu items had a price increase. I'm sure the pandemic had everything to do with that. If you have never been...I would recommend going, but definitely have reservation they get busy!
Our annual Christmas Eve tradition is to have dinner with our family, who travel from near and far to reunite on this special night! This year we chose Orazio's. However, they overbooked their reservations. Many customers were complaining about the lengthy wait time for their food. My husband had to perform at church services downtown so we absolutely had to leave by 9:15. While our reservation was for 7, we waited almost 30 minutes to be seated. Once we were, our waitress was immediately informed of the time we had to leave. She suggested we order drinks and our dinner altogether. Really no time to relax and have a leisurely meal. I can't complain about the quality of the food, but we dined in a banquet room and there was no festive atmosphere, just a feeling of general chaos by all of the staff. I'll go back, but not on Christmas Eve!
There was only one server for the entire restaurant...not his fault! He was seating people, bartended, server, bussed the tables, EVERYTHING! He got a fabulous tip. The food was fantastic.
Staff is awesome but the tomato sauce they use is incredibly sweet and not something I enjoyed. Seemed very strange to have a sweet sauce on savory dishes. Their portions are also immense so be prepared to order off the children's menu or take st least half of your meal home for the next day.
Let’s start with what’s good about this place: -The food: From the bread to the main dishes, the food is very good. We started with the fried calamari. It was good. We ordered one special (Christmas pasta) and the Penne Vodka with Chicken. Both were very good. They came out steaming hot and the portions are huge. I’m curious to know if their seafood is fresh. The sauces were spot on though. We finished with a tiramisu. It too was delicious. Not overly sweet which was perfect for my taste. The wine list is good and seemed reasonable. It looked as though they only had 2 beers on tap. The Service: Good service. The waiter was prompt, courteous and pleasant. Why did I take the stars off? - The ambiance/atmosphere: the place is a little dated. I liked the cloth napkins but the old school paper on the tables was cheesy. We were seated in the bar area so, there were TVs on. It had more of a sports bar vibe than a nice Italian restaurant which distracted from the really good food. The other dining room seemed dated as well with old looking booths and tables. All in all, this place is good.
Mother day Brunch - food was AMAZING, staff was working their tails off best they could! Shame on management for booking so much! The walking between bathrooms, the smallest hall with plates of food from the other side of the restaurant. A long hall that was only enough room for 1 way of traffic. Squeezing between tables with plates of food bc it was so over booked. We had to wait for clean plates like 3 - 4 times as well as trays to be filled. That poor staff was so over whelmed! I heard people waiting for over 30 minutes after their reservation time which blows my mind seeing they ask for your credit card info to secure your reservations. Suggestion, do not over book!!!! And have a second buffet area on the other side of the restaurant.
We were having a Birthday dinner. Two in party our diary free. They made waitress aware both meals had cheese on them. One of our was basically spilled apon being served. Luckly meal wasn't spilled on one of our party.
Went for Easter Dinner Buffet. Our server Kayley was great. Food was not. Desserts were blah. Prime rib was good, other meats ok. For a restaurant that serves a great meal off the menu, they're not so great at the buffet part. My party of 6 was disappointed.
We have been to Orazio's a few times in recent years. Atmosphere and service are great. Food is good and seems all restaurant made, not pre-prepared. But they seem to have changed their sauce recipes. Red sauce was quite sweet and white sauce had a very strong lemon flavor. I also note they had a small sign on the door saying prices had risen. When I got the check it was a surprise because they had not updated prices on the menu. Kind of misleading
Staff was very nice, attentive. Food was meh…. I had veal Marsala, 2 extremely thin slices of veal , so thin I couldn’t stab it with my fork. Should have been very tender since it was so thin, I’ve had much better veal elsewhere. This meal was not worth the money, very disappointing. I could have had an amazing meal at Russell’s for the same $ we spent here.
Had my daughters baby shower there this weekend the girls that took care of us were amazing! Watch for added fees on your bill that take you by surprise quote we got for meal was 2.00 over cost and didn’t know about room fee. Food was good
We've been coming to Orazio's to celebrate our big family moments since I was a kid, and it will be a long time before we come back if at all. We came in to celebrate my sons 16th birthday and it took us 3 hours to have dinner. The food was great when it arrived, but the service was pretty awful. Our drinks weren't refilled the entire time over 3 hours, and we even had to hijack a water pitcher we saw sitting around just so we could get more water. The table wasn't getting cleared throughout the night after courses which is fine, we could tell they were short-staffed but when we asked to have them taken our waitress was visibly annoyed with us, but we were asking because we had no room left on the table and she just kept bringing more. At the end of the night when we asked for desserts to have cake for my sons birthday, it took her 30 minutes to come back and take our order and by then we just wanted our check and to go home. Great food and so many great family memories here, but the service is going to keep us away.
There were 2 of us for dinner. We had a $100 gift card and our bill was $64. We were unaware that gratuity couldn't be added and taken from gift card. Neither of us had any cash and felt bad. Our waitress, name unknown, because she never introduced herself nor did she check on our food once it was served. When told gratuity could not be put on card there was nothing we could do. She didn't have to chase us down asking why we left no gratuity. All we could do was apologize. That was not a pleasant experience.
I've heard lots of good reviews about this place, decided to check it out. If you decide to go here, consider splitting a dish because of the large portions. Went with a group of friends, the service was good. Very attentive and friendly. The fresh baked bread is delicious, one of the best breads of any restaurant I've been to. The portions are huge, way more than anyone can eat in one sitting, which is why everyone goes home with a container. The soups and salads we're excellent... Had I only ordered the soup and salad I would have given this review a 5 star. However, it is an Italian restaurant, or so they say, so I ordered the "fresh homemade" ravioli. The sauce was good, not great, but good (a bit watery), but the ravioli was way over cooked. It was mushy and all stuck together... More like a lasagna. We did have to send one dish back due to an unfortunate situation.
We were able to make reservations with less than 24 hours notice for 6 adults on a Wednesday night without a problem. The restaurant was neat and the wait staff was very attentive. We had excellent service with Becky. She was genuinely sweet yet professional. We all enjoyed our entrees. However both my mother and I brought a coupon (from Buffalo clipper magazine or something of the sort). The coupon stated "one free dessert per 2 entrees, not valid with other offers. Having 3 couples and ordering 6 entrees with drinks we attempted to use both coupons but were told by a manager that it is only one coupon per table. Even when we politely questioned the exact wording of the coupon he quickly responded with "It's not fair... What if a table of 10 had these coupons..." The point is... If you want there to only be one coupon per party or per table it should say that on the coupon. Our experience was wonderful up this point where suddenly it seemed like management didn't have the same attentiveness to customer service as the rest of the staff. In the end my parents who are loyal patrons were slightly embarrassed in how this was handled. Our experience ended on a bad note. My dad commented on our drive home that our bill was close $200 (before tip) you would think that getting a free dessert would have been something done graciously. Oh well.
Disappointed because we have been here many times and my hubby loves their vodka sauce (award winning). This evening the vodka sauce was not rich and creamy, but too dry with a ton of grated Parmesan cheese added by the chef. All that cheese detracted from the flavor of vodka sauce. Not sure if it would have been better without the cheese loaded on. But the scallops Franco were very good, although the size of the scallops shrunk, I'm sure due to the pandemic pricing, but the prices increased?!?! Please work on your vodka sauce so we can return. This was a deal breaker for my hubby.
The staff was very good and friendly. 3 of our table of 6 ordered "the special" which surprised us when we got our bill. Much more expensive than other items on the menu and an upcharge for salads and dressings. We'll beyond my affordability for the future.
Let's start out about the food, it's excellent. No complaints. Waitress was excellent. We ordered two glasses of wine. $9 each. The Bill came and they charged us $24. We asked why, menu says $9. Management said we ran out of the $9 wine and gave you Reserve Wine. How's that out fault and never asked us what we wanted. He was very argumentative. I'd like to know from your perspective how you can argue with the customer when you had an issue and pushed it off on us. It certainly would have been appropriate to ask us. We could have changed Wine's or took the upgrade. Your food was delicious.
We rented out the banquet hall for an event and had to sign a contract that was priced different from what the website listed. The service was ok. We paid for a coffee bar that ended up being 1 pot of coffee for the majority of the time, so we had to constantly ask for more coffee to be made. The food was good, but not really worth the high amount they charged. Some places charge the same amount for weddings!! The cake was “professionally made” but tasted like nothing more than just box mix, was not decorated that nicely and cost an outrageous amount for the quality. Overall our guests had a nice time so it is what it is, but our family and friends won’t be back to rent out the room.
Honestly, not saying I absolutely would never go here again, but definitely not at top of my list. Food was good, but not exceptional. Our waitress was wonderful. She was very friendly. However, service was EXTREMELY slow, but I don't think that was the waitresses fault. They were not that busy, but we waited a long time for our meals to be served. We also waited a long time before waitress came and took our drink orders.
My pregnant wife was craving ravioli and picked Orazio's based on her past family experiences there. She immediately noticed that the place had a new modern makeover. The place is large and looks great. We waited about ten minutes before someone noticed us and there were two other tables of two and a table of 8 with two servers. The servers were very nice. It was kne guys first night. The homemade bread was really good and the caesar salad was average. To my wife's disappointment they were out of Ravioli so she went with manicotti (which wasn't on the menu). She didnt like the manicotti but loved the vodka sauce. I went with Alfredo which was more like a buttery sauce. So buttery that I had spots on my shirt and on the white paper table cloth they use. Despite providing huge portions I did see it as pricey. They need some tweaks but I would give them another shot.
We used to go to Orazio’s frequently, but it seems they’ve lost their touch. We ordered our food to go, and have done so in the past successfully, but our most recent order was not up to par. We had the chicken Parmesan, Pappardelle Bolognese, upgraded to the chicken pastina, a side meatball, the peanut butter pie, and chocolate raspberry mousse cake. The pastina was overly salty. The side meatball was forgotten with our order. The pasta sauce was much too sweet, as if they added way too much sugar. We ended up throwing away much of our pasta because it was too sweet to eat. The peanut butter pie was fine, while the mousse cake was freezer burned and the top layer was gummy. I would not recommend Orazio’s in the near future, which is sad as it was a favorite of ours.
We used to go here quite often and loved it. We even had an opportunity to use their banquet room. That was then. This is now. They've reopened, and I can only guess that they are still looking for qualified help. We were seated right at our reservation time of 6:30 pm and never got our meal until 7:55pm. We We were sitting at a table for 6 and were served from the end of the table and told to pass everything down. They charge fine dining prices and serve family style. It's totally unacceptable and lazy. It took so long for dinner that no one was willing to ask for dessert or coffee. We would be there all night. Horrible service, but I will say the main course was very good. The bread was dried out. For these kind of prices I would expect a much nicer dining experience. VERY DISAPPOINTING
Made dinner reservations on valentine's day. We have had dinner here many times before, always been good. Today we walk in to our surprise, a holiday menu (limited choices). We honestly thought about walking out, after receiving my meal that probably would have been a better choice. It was 2 4oz fillets with a lobster holidaise sauce, grilled asparagus and garlicky semi mashed potatoes. I ordered the fillets medium. It was more well done and very chewy. We heard many people upset with the limited menu, I feel that customers should have been made aware of this upon making a rereservation. Service was great, no so much the food. Not the same place that we once enjoyed.
I have been told a lot of things about the restaurant, so I had to check it out myself, and I was not impressed at all. The people were nice. The food mediocre at the best extremely sweet red sauce emoji my kid got pasta broccoli with chicken and no flavor. Everything right down to salad dressing is extra.
I have been going to dinner there for many years. On Saturday my experience was far from what it normally has been, I was very disappointed. They were very short staffed which I understand every place is short staffed. When being so short staffed don’t make as many reservations. Glasses were brought out from the dish washer and left in the dining room in the dishwasher rack that is very tacky. It took almost an hour and a half to get our dinner’s. My food was just ok when I got it. Hopefully when I do decide to come back for dinner it will be a better experience.
Unfortunately, we had to leave before even being seated. It appeared they had only two servers, one bartender and one host working. We sat at the bar while waiting for a table (we had reservations). The front kept piling up with people waiting to be seated.. the host was helping serve food. People ended up waiting so long just to see the host they left. We saw people that had been seated leave before their food came. We had been sitting at the bar, past our reservation time, and could see we were nowhere near being seated. it's sad because the food looked and smelled delicious. But the service was just terrible......
This was our favorite local Italian restaurant for years, whenever someone wanted an Italian recommendation we would always tell them to come to Orazios so when they reopened after their renovations we were so excited to come back! We were very disappointed and confused after this meal. From the drinks to the service to the flavors, everything seems to have regressed. The bill was $175, a price we were happy to pay in years past but that is now impossible to justify based on our most recent experience.
Did a mother's day brunch. They messed up the reservations, and then critically understaffed. The price was already hard to justify, but then the food was incredibly disappointing. The buffet fare was distinctly below average for a casual buffet, let alone what bills itself as classy. Will not be returning.
Was so excited to finally have my beloved pasta con vodka after Orazio’s long closure. I was sadly beyond disappointed. It’s totally different- a much thinner, runny sauce. The portion sizes, especially for the salad, have greatly reduced, too. Unfortunately I don’t foresee coming back.
I just ordered on doordash and I was shocked at how expensive it was. I compared the doordash prices to their actual menu and everything was $8 additional if not more for every item. I know several venues do this to make up some cost from doordash fees but that is ridiculous. I have experienced a dollar or two more per item from other places but this is unheard of. I only ordered delivery because I had surgery recently and I cannot drive. Unfortunately Orazio's will be at the bottom of my list.
My wife and I had a 5pm reservation for her birthday on a Saturday night. I was shocked to see that on a Saturday night there was ONE server for the entire restaurant, no hostess, no bartender, no manager on site. It did not take long for this poor server to be backed up trying to greet and serve multiple tables at once... essentially he was set up to fail with no help. Eventually a table of guests actually walked out due to delays in service. There was no bread brought to the table until we asked for it. We also had to request dipping oil which used to be standard. The chicken pastina soup had a lot of flavor but literally no noodles, just broth and vegetables. The pasta bolognese was outstanding, and a huge portion. Two deserts we requested we were told were not available - how does that happen at 6pm on a Saturday? The service, food and prices under the former owner was outstanding. Now the prices are all jacked up and the service is sub-bar thanks to management for not staffing properly. If you have ONE server working your restaurant on a Saturday night with no hostess, no bartender and no manager on site that tells me this is ownership who does not take this operation seriously. The temperature in the restaurant was also very cold It's a shame because this WAS our go to restaurant for Italian food and now my wife and I will be starting to look elsewhere
This place went downhill...Last time I was in there was the last time! Bartender was snobby, lasagna was too sweet ..taste like garbage!Waiter was running around, I think he was the only one serving....ridiculous....
I was there on 6/16/19 to celebrate Father's day and my sister Birthday. I brought a cake in to celebrate her day also. When it was time for cake, they said they have to charge us $1.50 per slice to cut it. Then I said we will cut it. The response I got was they still charge. That will be the last time I will be going there. Food was good, service was slow for a party of 10
Hours online say they’re open on Sunday, their sign lit up out front says they’re open (as of this second on a Sunday evening), and the hours outside the front door say they’re open on a Sunday. Show up at 5pm on a Sunday after a half hour drive and they’re closed.
Don't trust takeout. For years we had Thanksgiving takeout with Orazio's. It was the best. Not anymore--possibly new management. We ordered 5 meals in 2019. The price nearly DOUBLED from previous years ($30+ per meal!), but the food quantity/quality was substantially less. Grizzly, fatty turkey meat--no white meat at all. About 1 tablespoon of gravy per meal. No sweet potatoes. Pumpkin pie was laughable, about the size of a credit card. We each got a small container of watery tasteless cranberry sauce--we think that's what it was. I called Orazio's and was told we would hear back. A couple weeks later I received a $25 gift certificate for Orazio's....you decide...
We had reservations for 4 and found that the service was very good and the server was friendly and accommodating. We were seated in the bar area and it was a little loud at first, but then it quieted down. That was expected and was not a problem . When the dinners arrived, they looked great and smelled great. I had spaghetti and meatballs, my wife had chicken marsala and would have preferred a potato choice for a side, my friend had ravioli and a meatball, and his wife eggplant parm. My friend started with a meatball and had a very strange look on his face so I tried mine and to my surprise it did not taste good at all both my friend and I agreed and we are both Italian. The rest of our dinners were very good but something went wrong with the meatballs. I try and keep a open mind about things and I have never written a review in my 59 years. I just hope there was a problem in the making of the meatballs, and that what I had was not their usual famous meat balls. Sorry!
Horrible. New owner is clueless on how to run a restaurant. Took over 2 hours from the time we sat down to have dinner served. Severely understaffed!!
First and last visit. Very bad cut of veal. Chewy, tough, and not evenly pounded. Breading was soggy and easily slid off meat. Definitely ruined my appetite. Ate 3 bites, Mgr was offered other food, but was unapologetic and appeared to be annoyed. The final nail in the coffin was that he CHARGED me for soup (which I didn’t eat either) and bread service-even though bread was already on the table for my husband’s entree! Extremely tacky and to me, confirms that they don’t care about repeat business. Should’ve stuck with Mulberry’s or Chef’s - Always assured of fabulous food and service. Orazio’s should take note.
We have hit a new low Orazios! Charged us for a bunch of food we didn’t order and refused to refund! Ordered a simple chicken Milanese that comes with pasta and was charged for the Milanese, some extra side salads, and some extra pasta too! $96 charge and refused to refund!
We been customers for many years and with Frank taking over as the new owner happy to see things going so well for him and his family. However that changed tonight with the lack of service with received with Lon! We chose to eat at the bar and quickly realized they may have been understaffed as so many restaurant have been since the pandemic. Taking that in to account we tried to be patient with him, he appeared to having a problem with one of the servers as well.He did make time to tell he hasn’t been this busy since he was running orders to customers in their cars during the pandemic and How they were giving him $50-100. Tips but he didn’t tell the cooks.Had he made time to check on our meals we would have requested additional sauce for my wife’s dish, very tasty but needed a little more sauce! And I won’t have minded another drink. Thinking it would be best to get our check and finish our meals later I asked for our check and additional sauce. I paid the check and headed out with the leftovers and without the sauce! Lon forgot!
Was there for Mother’s Day brunch , when we googled it , it was $29.95 but when we got the bill it was $55.00 and the beverage were 5.00 each and not included in the menu in the $29.00 price , will never return !!!!! And the Hostess was absolutely the worst
Do not go here, failing restaurant. Worse dining experience of my life and I’ve been around. Our family went on Christmas Eve this year for a nice family dinner and kick off to Christmas Day. It is the first time ever dining out for Christmas Eve dinner. First, I will say I’ve been coming to Orazios for years before new ownership, having dinners and multiple banquets here, the food was always excellent. But this night was a complete nightmare. Started with arriving for a 7pm reservation and not seated until 20+ minutes later after checking back in at the desk. Drinks took 30 mins to get, salad missing dressing for one diner that took another 15 mins to get. Food took an hour. My husband sat with dirty dishes and glasses on a tray within inches of where he was sitting. There was no busboy and other tables sat with food along with the dirty dishes for a long time. Food finally arrives, and out of the 4 entrees only 1 was marginal. 3 of the entrees were not eaten. As we sat waiting on service, food, etc, we witnessed customer after customer complaining about the food with some walking out of the restaurant after their food arrived. The bright spot was the server who was amazing, kept apologizing and apologizing the problems. The server asked the manager twice to come to the table and she refused. We asked to speak to the owner but he refused to come to the table. The server eventually told us the management would not make any adjustment to the bill even though 3 of us did not eat the entrees. Upon exiting, we went to the bar area with the bill where we found the manager and owner and tried to discuss the situation. The manager raised her voice that she was never asked to come to the table and the owner said he would not make any adjustment since their food is always perfect and there were NO other complaints that evening. What a lie considering we personally heard people complaining and walking out because the food and service was bad. One of us overheard a server and another employee talking near the restroom that many customers were complaining about the food and service. The owner and manager became verbally abusive and were threatening in nature, forcing us to pay the bill in full. I’ve travelled all over and never once when there was an issue, even a very small one with food at a restaurant, did any manager or owner behave in this way. This clearly has failing restaurant written all over it. It is unfortunate that things changed when Zarcone took over. This ruined our Christmas Eve and the other events that were to happen afterwards. Read the other reviews for Christmas Eve 2023 including the one customer who felt the owner wanted to fight him in front of his 7 year old and grandmother. Read responses from the restaurant which in many cases is defensive to the customer.
I will NOT go to this place for Mother’s Day or any occasion again! My husband had a blonde strand of hair in his pasta that was at least 18inches long. I told the manager about it and showed her the strand of hair, her only solution was to knock off one soda drink from our bill! She was rude and argumentative towards me! She told us that it wasn’t her staff’s hair and she’s sorry but that’s all she can do! We spent $367.00! I was very disappointed and the food was cold Never again!!!! The one star is only because I had to rate it to post a review! I give it 0 stars!
This was our favorite Italian restaurant. We haven’t been back since they closed for remodeling. We went back last night. The food was excellent, the service was atrocious. Our server did a nice job, but the restaurant was clearly understaffed. Waited 20 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge we walked in the restaurant. No hostess. I literally counted four groups of people just walk out who were never greeted upon entering. Several tables just got up and left as food was taking forever to come out. I personally overhead two tables tell their server to just cancel their order, they have been waiting over an hour for their food, and just left. The poor staff was trying but just couldn’t keep up. Unfortunately this will be my last time at our once favorite restaurant.
I never leave bad reviews but my experience for this Mother’s Day brunch was so terrible I had to leave one, as several other people just today have. We originally made reservations for 4pm but were told to come at 3, then one of the waitstaff mentioned that they were still seating for 4pm! We expected the price of the buffet to be $35-40/plate as advertised online specifically for Mother’s Day but when the bill came it was $60/plate. They never gave us a menu or pricing before we started ordering either. Most of the food had clearly been sitting out for several hours at that point, and there was only one tray that was changed out in the 45 minutes we were there. In honesty, there were too many red flags that should have clued us in but we were coming back from a long hike and super hungry so we wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Some of the food we had was decent to good, but the negative experience FAR outweighed any positive.
We visited this restaurant for a Mother’s Day brunch buffet after seeing on their website that it was advertised at $29.95 per person with drinks included. We were able to get a last-minute reservation for six people. However, upon arrival, only five of us ended up attending. The hostess—who mentioned it was her first day—told us there would be a $20 charge for the person who didn’t show up, which we weren’t aware of. While we were willing to pay it, her lack of experience and professionalism were immediately apparent. She spent much of her time on her phone and seemed unsure of her responsibilities, which is concerning, especially on such a busy day. We were seated and greeted by our server, Joe, who was excellent—friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout the meal. Unfortunately, the buffet experience itself was far from what we expected. Despite the restaurant opening only 15 minutes earlier, many of the buffet trays were empty, and food replenishment was slow. We even had to ask the staff to bring out more plates, as only a small number were being put out at a time. When we finally got our food, everything was cold—even items that were sitting in heated trays. Most of the dishes were also overly salty. Still, we tried to stay positive since it was Mother’s Day and we didn’t want to complain. We ordered soda and orange juice, assuming they were included, as the website indicated. Shockingly, when we received the bill, it totaled $375—$275 just for the buffet. That comes out to $55 per person, not the $30 we were expecting. We double-checked the website and found the $29.95 Mother’s Day brunch menu—only to realize it was from the previous year. The current year’s menu was only available via a pop-up when first entering the site. If you accidentally closed the pop-up, there was no other way to find the updated information. While it was our mistake to not notice the date, the restaurant should absolutely update their main menu tab to reflect current pricing. To make matters worse, we found out that drinks were not included—every soda, juice, or coffee was $5 each, which felt excessive. The food quality did not come close to justifying the $55 price tag. Between the cold and overly salty food, slow replenishment, and misleading online information, we felt disappointed and misled. We mentioned the issue to Joe, who kindly offered to get the manager. After waiting 10 minutes, Joe came back to check and said she’d ask again. We waited another 10 minutes, but the manager never came to speak with us. Eventually, we just paid the bill and left. On our way out, we voiced our concerns to the hostess, who dismissively replied, “It is what it is,” in a rude tone. For someone on their first day, we were surprised by the lack of professionalism and basic customer service. In summary, this was a disappointing experience all around. The only bright spot was our wonderful server, Joe. Unfortunately, due to the poor food quality, lack of managerial presence, and unprofessional staff, we will not be returning
Went to Mother’s Day brunch and “$55.95”, which was not advertised until the morning of right before we went into the restaurant, gets you cold food that clearly has been sitting there for over an hour! It also gets you food that you can get at the store like mini muffins and pastries when they said it was “fresh” and small $5 drinks! And the manager who says he’s the owner wants to argue with you about the price and ignore the fact that meat and food containing milk (pasta and mashed potatoes) is cold and can cause food poisoning! And his main argument of why he charges that is get this you can’t go anywhere on Mother’s Day without spending $55.95 per person! So needless to say don’t go here save your money and go somewhere else!
I have always looked forward to going to Orazio’s. My past experiences have always been enjoyable with delicious food and great service. Sadly, it was a bad decision on my part to change my New Years Eve routine from Falletta’s to Orazio’s. We had a drink at the bar until our table was ready. Once we were seated, we sat at the table for over 25 minutes with not a single server coming over to us. Finally I had to ask for our server. She came over and literally took on average between 15 and 30 minutes to bring each course. We asked for a second glass of wine which never came until I reminded her 30 minutes after the fact. Our reservation was for 7 and our main course never came to the table until 9. It wasn’t just us, every table was having the same issue to the point where the people at the table next to us jokingly asked to buy our leftovers as they were still waiting. The food was mediocre at best. I’m hoping this was just a bad day where they overbooked and had little staff, and not how they are in general, but I will definitely think twice before going back.
Worst dining experience of my entire life. 25 minutes after being sat we got our first drink. No apologies or communication about the slow service. We noticed the table next to us get up and leave before having any dinner at this point; we should have followed suite. When we finally got our entrees after some 90 minutes (we had put our orders in before getting our drinks) it was the worst food I've ever been served. Plate of rubbery, microwaved turkey slopped atop mush they called stuffing, all swimming in something resembling gravy. Must've been left over from the party going on downstairs. We had been trying to grin and push through the whole meal so Christmas Eve wasn't a total bust, but I could not force myself to eat that entree. So I told our server I wasn't happy with it and had to send it back. Then the bartender came over and didn't believe the food was bad, so she pried for exact details on what I didn't like about it. When I described the issues I had with the food, she told me I was being offensive and that their food is excellent. She ran off to get the cook or owner, I don't even know what his role was because when he came to our table he didn't say. He just looked like he was ready for a confrontation. No apologies. No trying to resolve the situation. He just wanted specifics on exactly what I took issue with when it came to the food. Then he became incredibly hostile. Looked like he wanted to fight me in front of my mom and 70 year old uncle. I said I didn't want the food and I didn't want another entree. When he got even nastier I said we're leaving and that's when he threatened to call the police on us. This was unlike any experience I've ever had in my entire life, at a restaurant or otherwise. I worked in the restaurant business for years and never encountered or even heard of such godawful and ultimately threatening service. I've never written a bad review before today. I look forward to seeing the Google business owner's snide remarks to this review, in which he will take zero accountability, claim the awful food I was served was in fact delicious, and accuse me of who knows what. That seems to be how he handles all his failings after seeing the multitude of 1 star ratings here. Run away from this place and never look back.
Over the past couple months I have made two attempts to eat here on special occasions, both times with reservations. Both times the reservations were cancelled by the restaurant at the last minute. The first time I got an email from the reservation company that said the restaurant closed due to an emergency. Today is valentine's day and I had another reservation and they called me two hours in advance to apologize that they were closing down again. It is valentine's day and now I'm stuck without a reservation anywhere. I understand things happen, but what are the odds? I probably won't attempt a third reservation. Very disappointing as I was looking forward to eating here... twice! Guess we are stuck ordering a pizza tonight, because good luck finding a place to eat at 6pm on a Saturday on valentine's day!
They randomly closed due to point of sale and credit card machine being down. They did NOT notify my boyfriend’s mother who made our reservation. I was apprehensive even going after reading all the recent bad reviews. We met up at the closed restaurant and regrouped to have a delicious dinner down the road. After that my boyfriend’s mother received a text her reservation was cancelled…and another today asking if she’d like to reschedule. I’m ok never finding out if this place is a bad as the reviews state. The poor customer service speaks volumes. We drove half an hour for my birthday dinner to find the restaurant closed. Do better.
Waited 1.5 hours still no food. Was not busy at all. One waiter who was doing everything. No heat, no food, waiter was MIA. We paid for wine for left after we were told would still be awhile for food. Awful!
The worst experience I’ve ever had. Very short staffed. We waited a long time for every aspect of our meal from place settings and water to salad dressing and bread. Took almost 2 hours to receive our entrees. By the time they came I was over it and just wanted to go home. Dinner for 4 cost an outrageous $204. Never again.
Four of us went last Saturday for a birthday celebration. We arrived at 4:00 pm ,as our reservation was for 4:00, the doors were locked, had to wait for someone to open the door. We walked in went towards the bar to have a drink, no bartender. Proceeded to our table where a man in a t shirt seated us. The same man came back to take our order. We were the only patrons at this time. We ordered appetizers and waited about 30 minutes for our appetizers. The next course was the salad,.my mother in laws lettuce was wilted and particularly rotten. There was no bus boy to bus our table, so we sat with piles of dirty dishes. 2 out of the 4 meals were cold in the middle, and hot around the outside. This was my first and last time here. Hopefully others had better luck.
Reserved a funeral table for 3:00,13 people, They did not open the door until 3:15. One bartender, one cook. The bartender seemed overwhelmed, drinks took 30 minutes ! The poor bartender had a very limited supply of beer and liquor. Are they ready to close up ? After taking our order the bartender disappeared ! One of our group went behind the bar to help (REALLY !). Can't rate the food simply because after an hour and a half we still didn't have any ! We just got up and left, I think they will be closing soon because of the limited drink inventory and empty wine racks. To book a funeral lunch with emotions high and treat us all to nothing is unreal. Hope they close soon so this never happens to others.
Made a large reservation for a personal family event. Was known well in advance. Manager came in and said that it was somehow “our fault”. Place was short staffed, no hostess, bartender. The only waiter in the place actually gave a customer permission to serve drinks(that waiter was the only bright spot). But yeah the owner/manager is a little man with no compassion for people and has no idea how to run a business. Sad excuse for a restaurant. Very unprofessional. Food also came out raw.
Made a reservation for 13 for a post funeral meal, zero staff, zero manger. manger asked “what the problem is?” served raw food and had CUSTOMERS behind the bar serving our own drinks. absolutely joke and “owner” is okay. very much a joke. would never give them a dime.
I dont know what happened to this place but the owners should be embarrassed!!!! A Saturday night with no manager, a water glass with lipstick stain on it. We waited for 35 minutes with no bread, no refill on the water. We were ignored for the most part. Ever in my life have I gotten up and left before even getting out order!!!!! We will never come back again!!!!
We ordered from here Friday night. It took well over 30 min from time of said delivery. Our food was cold. We ordered bruschetta which we didn’t receive. We called restaurant and ask that they credit our credit card. No response. We called again on Saturday for the credit. NOTHING. We have been a patron of this restaurant since the original owners. It’s never been the best but because it was in the neighborhood, we tried to always support. Very disappointing and we will never go back.
It is with a heavy heart that I write this review...I had been going to Orazio's with my grandparents when they were still in North Buffalo on Hertel Ave. before they moved to Clarence. My memories are filled with enormous plates of Manicotti, delicious homemade bread, and chocolate cannolis. When Zarcone took over in 2018, I was worried that all of that would disappear, but alas, the food was still just as sensational. The prices went up, but the food was still worth it. Then Zarcone closed the dining room for over a year, so I was very excited when they reopened this year. However, on our second trip back yesterday, ww realized the Orazio's I grew up loving was no more. Yes, the prices were higher, but now the service was incredibly slow (there were only 3 other tables besides us), our water was only refilled before we ordered, more bread took asking three times, our add on meatball never came but we were still charged for it, and while most of that can be excused, now the manicotti had changed for the worse; the crepe tubes were barely half filled, and what used to be covered in mozzarella cheese and baked now had a single slice of cheese on top, which you could see the outline of. It breaks my heart that this is what Orazio's has become; a place that I no longer look forward to returning to when I'm back in town. RIP Orazio's, 2025.
