Opinions de Powers Irish Pub Clifton Park
Excellent food, and a really good time. We sat inside, and it's really cool sitting inside such an old house, where the floorboards creak when you walk. The staff was exceptional, and we couldn't have been more satisfied with our order or experience.
Great food and a great staff at this historic site/restaurant. My waitress took time to make recommendations and even changed the TV channel for me so I could watch a football game. Got the Shepard's pie and a few mixed drinks (which were fantastic in concept and execution) as well as cheesecake for dessert. The entree was great and the cheesecake was alright but a little warm when served.
Powers Irish Pub does not disappoint, we stopped by after the restaurant dining restriction was lifted. Service was Quick and responsive to our needs and the food was AMAZING! Highly recommended! Powers offers a large menu with great lunch and dinner options as well as a always updating alcohol and on-tap beer list. We will definitely be going back soon.
Giffys is simply wonderful to work with! We had our wedding at their Barn in Clifton Park and they catered for us. Their food was delicious and we received endless compliments on how amazing their service was. Kelly was our go-to and she made us feel so special and cared for!! I would recommend them 10/10! Good people all around.
My husband and I decided to take a drive over to Power's Irish Pub in Clifton Park, NY for a late lunch. We hadn't been there in quite some time and were glad to see that the food was still as good as we remembered. We were seated in a small dining room upstairs and had the room to ourselves. Our server was friendly and attentive. We ordered pretzels with pub mustard for an appetizer and they arrived promptly and steaming hot. I ordered Sauvignon Blanc and was pleasantly surprised by the high quality and taste. My husband ordered the meatloaf entree and declared it delicious. I ordered the Shepherd's Pie and loved the scent of rosemary along with the delicious mix of hamburger, vegetables and potatoes. We will definitely go back and try some more dishes. Enjoy!
First time there. The wife and I were in the area and was headed to another place we go to eat. She found this place and we gave it shot. We will go back. we live in massachusetts about a hour away. The food was good. Service was good and the staff was very friendly.
This place is always a win. They have a great selection of taps, cans and bottles and the food is better than you might expect in a pub. Moreover, the staff here go out of their way to make you feel at home and a lot of effort goes into accommodating kids and bigger groups. In particular I have to compliment the bar staff; they go above and beyond every time. I recently went to an event at their new "Barn," which is absolutely beautiful and a very cool space. Definitely a prime spot to have a party/event.
Greatly enjoy my times spent at Power's. The sandwiches are wonderful. I'm a huge fan of the maple mayo spread. The outside deck is idyllic; the setting of the trees and creek add a particularly peaceful ambiance. Dining inside is also pleasant.
Great service dining in a charming and rustic historic tavern or takeout located at the bar - fast and friendly. Something for everyone on the menu which has basics with flair. Another reviewer mentioned the Shepherds Pie is a bit salty and I would agree. Generous portions.
Amazing staff and customer service. The beer selection is perfect. Mike is always on point and the wings at Powers are killer! Love this bar so much. Has a at home feel and always a good crowd. My type of place. Also in the summer they do live music on the patio and the parking lot is easy to get a spot. It's close to other local places so it's right in the main stretch of Clifton Park. They even have certain nights where Brewers come and promote new ales and brews!
This is a fantastic hometown pub! The atmosphere is friendly, cozy, and welcoming. The food is only surpassed by the service of the staff. A number of stand out folks behind the bar, Jen, Mike , and Aileen will make you feel like your at Cheers! The owner Bryah is a top notch person and will make sure your expectations are met or exceeded! If your in the area, go there and drive right past all the chains on the way!
It is a cute little Irish bar and what appears to be an old farmhouse so you do have to watch your step inside the building. There are a couple different levels. We had a birthday party on the top floor. The mac and cheese was heavenly and they do mozzarella wedges instead of sticks. Somebody had gotten a cheeseburger and it look like one you would make yourself.
Great Irish food! Definitely try the French onion soup and sweet potato fries. Generous portions will always leave you with a lunch the next day. Very interesting/fun drink menu. Best Irish food in Clifton Park.
A great old building, steeped with history....and awesome food! Had the Flying Irishman, which is kind of a 'Reuben on Steroids'! I could eat one of those every day! Met a couple of friends we hadn't seen in years, stayed and chatted for a few hours and never felt rushed.
Have always loved this place, and the staff is amazing. Mike does an awesome job behind the bar, and even when he is busy will turn around with a smile and a friendly greeting! We were here on Tuesday for the beer and burger special, and was not diasappointed. While we came in for a regular burger, when we heard the German themed burgers, we couldn't resist. Although it's usually happy hour on the weekends for us, we will be adding Tuesday's to our schedule as well!
Food here is great I especially love their meatloaf, glazed and barbecue. Remind me of Grandma‘s meatloaf specially made. Great place live music down in the bar. I love that the building is haunted So many stories, and great things I’ve learned about this place. I have family coming into town. This is where I take them.
This is an amazing place to visit and eat. I've always had exceptional food here. They do so well with the food sometimes I have a hard time deciding which dish I want. The service has always been good and it's just a cool place in general. Great ambience.
Had the pot roast and it was absolutely delicious with fresh mashed potatoes. My friends had the salmon and pasta alla vodka and they loved their dishes also. Nice cozy atmosphere great for catching up with friends and the service was awesome. Definitely on our rotation list.
First time at Powers Pub, friendly greeting at the door, and by the bar and wait staff. Everyone was very accommodating with assistance for my wife. Our wait staff Alex and Sonya were great! The menu was explained, and the large beer selection was the best around. We started with Guinness Kilkenny Irish Red Ale Nitro, Harp Lager, and Smithwick's Premium Irish Ale. All were excellent! Our meals consisted of very two large tasty sandwiches: A Craic, (Grilled roast beef, sautéed onions, provolone cheese, horseradish mayonnaise on a baguette, with dipping Au jus), and a Gobbler (Oven roasted turkey, Swiss cheese and cranberry mayonnaise on challah). Each was served with a large portion of well-cooked good-sized fries. I had the French Onion Soup, Power's unique version with crostini and provolone cheese. It was the tastiest I ever had. Our daughter took half of her sandwich home, and I had half of my wife’s. No way I could eat a whole sandwich, with that great French Onion Soup – that is a must! The whole menu looked great! Come hungry and just order a bunch of apps and soup or sandwiches – you won’t be disappointed.
Excellent food. Excellent service. Great atmosphere.
What a great find. Food amazing with excellent pricing for portions. Service was quick, attentive and friendly. The building was very tastefully converted into the restaurant. If you appreciate historical buildings and excellent food, you will enjoy Power's Inn.
The hostess was personable and fantastic, couldn’t be more accommodating!
Oh this place is great! I went for the first time last friday and i loved it so much that i went the saturday after as well. The place is like an old house that they turned into a restaurant. Very cozy. Both times i ordered something different. The NY strip steak and the next night i got the buffalo chicken salad. YUM! I also ordered the chicken wings with the whiskey BBQ sauce and they were also very delicious. i should mention the fries are amazing! No ketchup is necessary lol. I was eating so many fries that i almost didn't have room for the main course! Anyway, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Great service. My new favorite place. Next time i go i will take a couple pictures
Stopped by on a muggy afternoon and sat on the deck for lunch. Nice variety of beers and adult beverages to choose from. Nice menu...And my sandwich was delicious. Staff was very friendly. Can't rate the inside dining, but I'm sure by the amount of cars in the parking lot...Must be good.
Favorite place! Pet friendly deck AND staff. Gabby was so sweet and offered water to Owen. His first official public outing! 😊 The food at this place is always spot on. Such quality ingredients and great varied menu choices. Only grip is we would like to see onion rings guys! The mustard and hand made beer cheese for the Wednesday sticks is phenomenal. Meatloaf and mashed potatoes are great! Always an excellent French Martini! They like that i change it up by using Stoli Orang. Hubby and brother enjoy the large selection of draft beer choices. Thanks guys for having a wonderful local business. ❤️
We went in on one of the busiest days of the year day after Thanksgiving with no reservations and a group of 7. Had to wait about 45 minutes. Sat at the bar and hung out listening to music. Sat down got our appetizers quick and had great food. Staff was so nice and warm. Great time will definitely be back
We were looking for a lunch location to meet some out-of-town friends. Power's Inn was exactly halfway for each of us and easy to locate and park. We sat in a lower dining area, next to the fireplace. Very cozy. We all loved our meals (Vermonter; Flying Irishman; and Bean Burger). We sat and chatted with our friends for 2 hours (it was between lunch and dinner, so we were comfortable that no one was waiting for a table). The staff attended to our needs and then stepped aside while we caught up. We will definitely be back.
My wife and family had dinner here and the food was delicious. We also liked the old building and the quaint almost private small dining rooms. You are able to have conversation without a lot of background noise. We definitely want to go back again!
Great food. It's an Irish/American mix. It's an awesome structure filled with history. The service was impeccable. The food took a little while to come out but it was well with the wait. The beer selection isn't your run of the mill beers but it is a great selection. I highly recommend it. Every time I'm in Albany I make it a point to stop in.
Cozy atmosphere, pleasant, inviting staff and great food.
Shhhhhh... this place is a GEM! Great staff, especially Kelly, love her!! Bryah, the owner is always around making sure you're happy!! The food is fantastic and delicious! The beer ...you won't be disappointed, great selection on tap as well in 16oz cans... and they don't hold back on the liquor in their mixed drinks... Word of advice.....Get there early if you want a spot on the deck cause it's sunny and the atmosphere is relaxing!!
First time going here and was not disappointed. Food and service were excellent and the outdoor seating is fantastic.
The food and service was excellent! Very cozy. Parking was a little bit hard for some. There was a party so it was crowded. Still plenty of parking, though. Our party of 6 was upstairs, so it might be hard for mobility. Would definitely come back!
Great food and service in a cool and unique space. Every time we drive by, it’s busy but we luckily had no wait when we went. A great place for your next date night or family dinner.
We went to lunch with our best friends at Power's Irish Pub on 4/27/25. We sat at a hi-top in the bar area. Not to busy inside at 1pm, but a big party was in their separate rental space-The Barn. We have visited here often in the past for lunch & dinner. Our attentive server Jen brought menus & drinks while we made our lunch choices. Power's offers pub grub, full Irish dinners, & a broad selection of beers, wine, whiskies, cocktails, etc. Drinks were a couple of wines ($7), a Bloody Maria ($10), & a Guinness ($8). Lunches were: the special of the day burger crunch wrap ($15), the popular Vermonter ($16) Oven roasted turkey, bacon, sliced apples, Vermont sharp cheddar cheese, maple mayonnaise on toasted Ciabatta, pesto aioli chicken sandwich ($16), & the Power House Burger topped with bacon, American cheese and a fried egg ($17) cooked to perfect medium & fills-u-right-up good. Excellent service by Jen. Food was great as was expected. Live music at times, check their FB page. Hours: Closed Mon, Sun, Tue, Wed, Thu 11:30am-12am, Sat & Sun 1130am-2am. Thank you again Jen & staff for a great lunch. Nick & Liz, Andy & Peggy, Albany & Halfmoon, NY
Found this place by accident. They had a guy on the deck playing the guitar who was really good. Patty melt and chicken wrap were excellent. Highly recommend
This place is a fascinating gem. I don't know what the building was used for originally, but it's a very charming warren of rough wood rooms with quirky but well-suited decor. And the food is exceptional. Frickles (fried pickles and banana peppers), fish & chips, and the Guinness pot roast were all delicious, served hot and quickly, despite the place being packed. Definitely worth a stop or, if you're in the area, add it to your list of go-tos.
I sat at the bar at Power’s Pub and had a Guinness that was quite literally the most perfect pour I have ever seen. The settling, the head, the temperature—everything was spot on. Great atmosphere and clearly a place that respects the craft. I’ll definitely be back!
Great atmosphere. Excellent food and a shout out to our waiter Leo who was very good and seemed to be running the whole place.
Fantastic quality, unquestionably loved atmosphere and staff, the food was amazing, A prefect meal anytime. I had the roast it was out fast and delicious. The Guinness sauce is a 10/10 Dine in or pick up they prepare it like you are royalty either way
Excellent food..baked Haddock with mashed potatoes and green beans, mushroom cheese burger and fries and onion soup!
Traveling and seeking a piece of history????? Local and branching out??? Power's Inn & Pubb is right up your street!!! Date night? First Date? By yourself and wanting to connect with other locals? ALL YES!!! What a great historic gem. Food, drinks, ambiance, service... check... check... check... Can't write enough lovely words about this piece of history! A MUST VISIT if traveling anywhere closeby.
Popped in without a reservation for my son’s birthday. Party of six (including a high chair). The food was great, but the staff was even greater. Such kind and sweet women.
I love coming here, everything is literally amazing. Staff is always cool and easy going. They never disappoint. Love their burgers.
We had a beautiful baby shower there! From my 1st inquiry to the day of event Brandye was amazing to work with! The staff were so nice and accommodating and the food plentiful, hot and delicious. Such a beautiful venue! We will definitely book again and again for all our family functions!
Good food. Great service. We have a small dog with separation anxiety, so summertime we look for restaurants with dog friendly patio dining, so glad Powers does. Definitely be back!
Great place. Excellent fish and chips; best chips I've tasted. My wife also enjoyed the baked Haddock.Service was SO polite and fast. Nobody moves slowly! Met the manager on the way out, who was also very friendly, and the decor is unique.
We had a group of 9 for dinner on a Saturday night, and everything was absolutely perfect. Our waitress was incredibly kind, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. Everyone’s food was excellent — flavorful, well-prepared, and served in generous portions. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was top-notch. This place has quickly become one of our favorite spots!
Back in 2001, when I was a sophomore, I decided to end my pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree. My 3.65GPA, National Dean's List qualification (decided not to send photo or bio for inclusion for my Fall 1999 freshman semester), and 100% tuition grant, didn't matter. I just pulled the plug. Reinventing the wheel didn't matter as much to me as inventing it did... Yes, I'm salty. And I have a reason to be, unlike those outside the #powersinn&pub. Where the air is crisp, the drinks are strong and steady, every member of staff is in uniform and ready to impress, and from the mouth-watering smell wafting from the kitchen, this Irish Pub is on point! Good thing for them, I'm a straightforward college-drop-out. I'm not interested in neutrality. Apparently that's the job of the degree holders. When you realize that your job is a 4:3 bias and mine is a 4:1, you'll get The Celtic Ranch Power... We only want what we want, and that's to continue our success through collaboration. GREAT JOB TEAM! 🎤#PowersInn&Pub 🍻 🎤#GuinnessKilkennyIrishRedAleNitro👋✌️👌🫥🥸 🎤#IrishCoffee🤘 🎤#ReverberationEffect 🎤#MAGAWales
Amazing. This is my future go-to restaurant on the north way. Would have taken a photo of the food but it was gone before I could get the camera out! SO GOOD. Burger was top notch and cooked just right. Fired were outstanding. Brussels sprouts with aioli were airy and tasty (not over fried like most places). Normal old Mac and cheese had some kind of magic ingredient. Did I mention took the amazing historical building? Eat here.
I came with a group of 3 around 6:30 on a Tuesday night and we were seated immediately. The place is pretty unique. It’s very spaced out and there are a lot of floors with a few tables on each. The bar area is pretty small but has a super cool feel. They have a huge beer menu, so you’ll def find something you like. Their garlic parm wings were really good, as were the fried pickles! For dinner I had the chicken pot pie. It was pretty good, but not the best. The sauce had a little different taste than I was expecting. (But again wasn’t bad by any means). The server was also great. She was friendly and attentive to our needs! Would def go back.
Had a baby shower here and I have to say the place was beautiful, the food was amazing but the staff...well the staff made our entire experience..they went above and beyond their job, helped in every way they could(putting up decorations, coming up with ideas to help) were so pleasent, and truly seemed to enjoy what they were doing. Kudos to you! Thank you for all you do as I am sure we have not been the only guest to receive this kind of service.
We went out for a ride and was looking for a outdoor place to get something to eat and have a drink. Have heard about Powers pub from some friends who recommend it. We were greeted by the hostess outside, was about a 20 minute wait to be seated. We were able to go inside to the pub sere there was only one other couple in there. Seats were placed plenty far apart. Nice selection of beers on tap, along with bottle beers and plenty of Irish favorites. Ordered 2 draft beers, $14.00. Soon as we got the beers, the table was ready. They send a text message to you. We were seated out doors on a very nice big deck. Waitress came over after about 1 minute, greeted us very kindly. She was very knowledgable of the menu and advised us of the 2 specials that they had for the day. Menu has a nice selection to choose from. We order a Southwest Chicken Wrap with Fries and also a Maple Cheddar burger. From the time the order was taken until the food arrived to the table was less then 20 minutes. Food arrived hot and fries were crisp and not soggy. Chicken was not dry and the hamburger was cooked exactly the way it was ordered. Did not order any Desert. Portions are of plenty. The chicken pot pue is a favorite for many and will try it next time. Tax and tip was less the $70.00. Very friendly staff all around. Will go back and bring some friends.
Food was great, large portions at lunch and reasonably priced. While our server was friendly, giving four stars because she missed a few things - seated our group without any silverware, napkins, or drink menu. Lots of back and forth and having to request things that should have been a given, waiting for check. Our apps (onion rings a fried pickles) arrived and we waited for her to come back to the table to request napkins and utensils before diving in. ***Update*** we ate lunch on a Saturday in January.
We enjoy going to this place for dinner. The Brie appetizer is really good. Tonight I decided to try the Shepherds pie. It was ok but can’t say it was anything special. Also I found it to be a bit too salty. Will stick to their other menu items in the future.
Went for lunch. Nice atmosphere. My salad was really good but I did not care.for the french onion soup. Our party of 6 was sat at three small square tables pushed together which was fine except not one was leve and wobbled terribly. Made for fun with two small children.
Standard pub fare such as fish and chips and Irish nachos! Good selection of taps. Food is fresh. Portions are neither too large nor too small. Outdoor, dog friendly seating with great views. Perfect spot for a relaxed afternoon Sunday lunch!
A tale of two restaurants. My wife's burger, fries, and White Claw were good. However, my lobster mac and cheese was cool and watery and my White Russian was made with half-and-half that was going sour. I think my meal was an aberration as this place is big, had a lot of people at it, and they have a banquet facility next door
Used for take out only ....many nice choices....fast friendly service
Came here for lunch with friends. The food was great. However, the restrooms are up one to two flights of stairs depending upon where you are seated. Definitely not mobility-friendly. There is even a step up into the restaurant. Think they should make that clear on their website. It is an old tavern and has quirky nooks. That part is fun. We have also been to the barn for a party. That building is mobility-friendly with modern restrooms on the main level.
Very busy Tuesday. Erin was great but stretched thin. Food could have been a bit warmer but was still quite tasty.
This was our first time visiting and we really enjoyed it! Outdoor seating that's far enough off the road and nicely landscaped so you don't see or here any traffic. Good pub food, live music on the deck, server was lovely. My only complaint was that the kitchen was pretty slow but to be honest, between the setting and the music, we were so relaxed we didn't mind the wait.
Great place for a nice dinner during summer. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside on a beautiful day. They had a special burger and drink combo which is what I got. The burger was Mexican burger. There burger tasted good. The beer selection is good. The draft beer menu was has a good selection. I got the frog alley beer. It was a dark beer but was good. Not too hoppy. I recommend this place for the beer selection and outdoor seating. The service was good and quick.
A warm, inviting place to eat. Staff (Ashley) are super friendly! There are micro brew ales available, as well as some bigger name labels. The food is very good- fresh green beans and home made mashed potatoes accompanied a moist meatloaf accented with pleasantly smokey bacon and gravy. The Buffalo mac and cheese has orecchiette pasta covered in a very rich, creamy cheese sauce with strips of chicken, and topped with toasted bread crumbs and- you guessed it- hot sauce! It comes with bleu cheese crumbles, but I don't like bleu cheese (call me a pagan) so I ordered without. No room for dessert, so we must go back!
I wanted to love this place. I would much rather go to a locally owned restaurant than a chain. Read great reviews about the food. Was disappointed. Service was great. Appetizers were good. Dinners not so much. I could have moved on from it, but an Irish pub that serves instant mashed potatoes, shame on you.
Not my first visit. Service very friendly. This was first time bringing the Mrs. Was a beautiful evening, sat on the deck. Was busy. After waiting 75 minutes for our order, elected to ask for the check. Won't say that is typical, but having the Mrs. with me made it sting.
The Food was great The Bartender needs to take a Mixology Course, I asked for Peach Snaps with Seltzer, The Drink tasted like Seltzer. So I sent it back and the new Drink was awful 😞 not even a taste of 🍑
The food was really good, the building was interesting, built in the 1700s, but well maintained. I hate to say it, but the service was slow and inattentive. It took a long time to get anything.
Made a reservation for 4 for the Saturday before St. Patrick's Day. We ordered an appetizer that never came. All 4 of us ordered the corn beef and cabbage dinner. It came with "Irish Soda Bread" . The pieces were about the size of a credit card and one was half tha size. The corn beef was good and we got 3 good size pieces. For $27.00 per dinner you would expect real silverware and a glass but we were given plastic utensils and plastic cups. We saw that coffee was served in paper cups so we passed on that. Not sure we will be back again.
Food was good ..but both of our lunches were cold ..would’ve been GREAT if it was brought out in a timely fashion. Service was awful. Waitress couldn’t be bothered with us. Forgot part of the order and never returned to ask how things were. We would’ve asked for our salads that she forgot and to have our plates warmed up. She was annoyed and never apologized for forgetting our salads . Totally the fault of our server…not the chef or establishment
I was excited to try Power’s Inn & Pub because of the good reviews and the menu had so many things that I wanted to try. Unfortunately, I was left a bit disappointed. We ordered for take out and when we arrived home realized they didn’t swap sides out like we had ordered. We should have checked, but that was the first disappointment. The BBQ meatloaf sounded good, but it seemed dry and I overcooked. The Vermonster was fine, but it didn’t make me want to go back to get it again. The sweet potato fries also were underwhelming. Maybe my expectations were set too high.
Not the best start to our evening but our server made up for it. My wife waited 20 minutes for a drink only to find out someone didn't change the tank for the lemonade. I had my beer well before that while we waited for her. Food wasn't too bad. My sandwich was on the dryer side. As I said the server was great and made it worthwhile.
Great Irish Pub. Love the atmosphere. Food was so-so. A super salty soup that I could not eat. main course was "ok", desert from J&S was stale (that really disappointed me). Super courteous staff though. Will give them a second try simply because how nice everyone was.
We spent $32 per person on entrees and 3 out 4 entrees were room temp to cold. Waitress did not return to table for quite some time after serving us, too late to do much. However, when waitress was told, she only offered to reimburse for two salads totaling $8 so we paid about $84 for three cold meals. Disappointed to say the least. Not sure if we’ll give it another try given the cold food and poor compensation.
Was really expecting a better experience overall. Upon entry greeted by a waitress who rudely told us she'd get a host when we asked basic questions about the establishment. We get seated in a basement area and proceed to order our drinks and food, which the drinks were pricey and the food.. well.. I was severely disappointed in the meatloaf. Bland and overcooked with no added spices. Gravy was not a secret recipe of any kind. Charged extra for tiny cup of dressing I ordered to add some.level of flavor to the dish. The flies that joined us at the table were much more attentive than the waitstaff. For the price it was not worth the drive out of the way or the investment of time. Will not be returning.
I had high hopes, based on what people have told me. We got there at 6pm and they weren't busy at all, such surprised me because 2 years ago you couldn't touch that place without a reservation made well in advance. We waited a really long time for someone to even acknowledge we were there, then everything else took forever. I had a chicken sandwich, wife had the Mac and cheese. Neither of them were anything to write home about...which is unfortunate because I was really expecting to like it.
First visit. Food came quick. Two orders were incorrect. Right meals brought promptly. We were quickly asked once if everything was ok. Never asked if anyone wants a second drink when meals were brought or after. Waters never refilled. Waitress came after we were done eating “here’s your check”. Maybe someone wanted a second drink or refill? Or perhaps a dessert? Paid the bill and went to leave. Waitress was sitting on the main entrance bench on her phone head down, clearly not busy with other things. Food was “ok”. Sunday night 530pm. Not odd hours.
Sorry to say today’s visit was not a positive experience. First of all, my husband ordered the club sandwich. He did not get a club sandwich. He was served a regular turkey sandwich. I ordered the Ruben and honestly it was probably the worst Ruben I have ever had . I would say there was more fat than quality meat on it. The only good thing about the visit was that the fries were hot.. A few months ago, I was there and I ordered the penne pasta with chicken and peas. However, there were no peas in the pasta. Sadly, the quality of food has gone downhill.
Can I have some burger with that grease? Bread was saturated with grease. Atmosphere was nice but food and service mediocre.
The food was horrible the French onion soup was salty. The fried mozzarella was overcooked all the cheese was popped out. The bbq mac and cheese was bland. The baked haddock was old and the mashed potatoes were brown also the mojito had no mint in it.
Met a neighbor and friend of mine for lunch. The beer was excellent but the food was mediocre at best had a maple bacon cheeseburger the bacon was barely cooked. Couldn't even try to eat it it was just 2 slices of pure fat. The burger itself was good but it came on a soggy bun and the waffle french fries was good but that about it...I would go there again for a beer but I dont think I would eat there again...
Went to Powers Pub this afternoon for my annual Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner with my girlfriend. Both the service and the food were horrendous. In past years the food was great but now that the original owner has passed away whoever has taken over this establishment is taking this place in the wrong Direction. I know inflation is raising prices but the price of this meal was higher than most other places I checked out. With the food prices up they also reduced the amount of food they give you. You can raise prices due to inflation but you can’t raise prices and lower amount of food they give you and think your customers will be happy. Most of the food they took off the plate was the Corned Beef also. On top of this we sat down and no one came around to ask if we wanted a drink for 20 minutes. When we finally ordered and received our food the Corned Beef that was on our plates was dry and burned. The soda bread on my girlfriends plate was so hard it was inedible. Overall terrible food and terrible service. The meal was so bad we will not be going back again. It’s a shame because before the original owner died this place was fantastic.
I had family in from out of town and saw the great reviews online for Powers Pub and decided to try it. The place was very crowded and we were told the wait would be about 30 minutes. Look, I was happy to see people out again but the hostess truly underestimated our wait time. We waited over an hour and forty minutes. We really should have went home but we kept being told "just another 20 minutes". We waited it out. When we finally got to sit we received our appetizers and dinner pretty quickly. One of my guests had the shepherds pie and he said it was really good. My sister ordered a hamburger medium well and it came back rare, almost raw. She didn't eat any of it. When you go to a pub a hamburger is one of those dinners that should be prepared as ordered. But that's not what makes me give one star. The worst part was my brother in law's corned beef sandwich dinner had several prices of hair in it. Not one hair, several. He did not say anything because we waited so long to eat that he didn't want to spoil anyone else's meal.It was truly a disappointing experience. I can only guess that it was just not our night but we won't try again.
Stopped here this afternoon after taking our daughter to an appointment. We were seated all the way upstairs and waited 45 min before deciding to get up and leave. No one even came to get our drink order! Wish we were able to enjoy a nice lunch before driving 2 hours back home. Her next appointment out that way, we will definitely be looking for lunch elsewhere
I feel sorry for the staff the food is horrible the chicken is like rubber clearly cheap the fish was anything but hand battered the kettle chips are soggy. The Flys leave a lot to be desired not to mention the beer was not very cold and kinda flat. Just run away a left over taco is better than what this place has to offer
A week ago on a Friday night, took about 15 minutes before anyone came to just take our drink order, then it took quite a few minutes to get our drinks and I could see 3 servers there. We were sitting on the deck, and when we first arrived, approximately 5:45, there were only about 3 other tables with patrons, so not terribly busy outside, not sure about the inside, but I can say that the parking lot was not overly filled. Point is, service was slow, food is average. Not my favorite place.
We’ve been here three times over the past five years; the last time was this past weekend. We have had a bad experience each time. I so wanted to like this place, hence the third try. However, it’s just not worth the money and aggravation. I love old buildings and have a great appreciation for preserving the authenticity of a building but one bathroom? That’s a little crazy. The food and service are also both subpar. My best guess is that this is the only Irish place in CP so it gets traffic. My advice is to go 20 minutes in either direction to get better service and food. So disappointing.
