Very quaint wine bar. On occasion there's live music too! All the food is very good including the appetizers. Prices are a little expressive for me ($27 - $45 per wine bottle and around $13 per plate) I'd definitely recommend a visit! Try to go at a off time since the place gets crowded fast and wait time for food can be long. Also, at the time if this posting, there's a Groupon to save around up to $15!!!
Always excellent, creative fare. Great prices (food & wine); outstanding service. Nice ambiance. Best restaurant in Cohoes. 🍷

Don't hesitate, just go here! Spindles came highly recommended to us and didn't disappoint. The small plates were all incredible and service was great. Highly recommend the bruschetta, caramelized onion crostini, and anything with risotto. Cozy atmosphere and co-vid friendly.
So good! Everything!!! 15 miles from the end of our 400 mile Erie Canal ride we were so lucky to meet Dan who suggested we stop on. Beet salad, flat pizza and crack cake sliders we were ready for the finish! Also pitchers and pitchers of water for four dehydrated cyclists- we can’t wait to return!
Went to dinner last Saturday night and food was absolutely delicious!! Excellent wine list. Atmosphere was cozy & waitress was very nice and accommodating. I will definitely be going back. Thank you for a great experience!
I have to say that my dining experience at Spindles was total perfection. The inside dining area is pleasantly designed making for a very pleasing ambiance. The menu is varied and delicious. The chef prepared my salmon with risotto dish to perfection for my wife and myself (my compliments to the chef). The staff is pleasant and knowledgeable about the wines that they offer and are eager to discuss your pairing options.
Our small group of 4 people thoroughly enjoyed Spindles! It is a relatively small and intimate place with a small sitting area by an electric fireplace, and a couple high top tables surrounded by a few dining tables. They have an excellent wine selection, and an extensive menu of small plates. All of our selections were well prepared and delicious. Our server Loni was very friendly and knowlegable. It was a perfect place to visit before a show at the Cohoes Music Hall. We will be visiting again.
The chef is amazing. Wanda cooks very eclectic menue and everything is superb. We tried the lamb lollypops. We will definitely order that again. The dish of brie bheese melted with some walnuts and pears was a party in your mouth. We will definitely come here again soon. Kim, the bartender, was knowledgeable about the wines. Her food recommendation was spot on.
New chef is great! Before the new chef, although they had good selection of wines, the food was average at best. The portions are not big, but extremely delicious. We haven't got a better cheese plate even in Paris! Bruschettas were also great, truly European standard. Spindles has a great potential to become a cool wine bar with European feel if they can update the décor a bit since the food and wine is really up to European standard now, might be even better (Me and my husband travelled a lot in Europe). If the owner could change the interior décor (which feels dark and outdated now), the place can easily go the next level. All plates we tried were delicious but I can especially recommend Malbec wine together with cheese plate and bruschetta for a little taste of Europe.
Went here for dinner tonight and everything was perfect! They have a nice selection of wine. For dinner we had the blackened chicken pasta (incredible), baked brie ( also incredible) and the Flatbread ( perfection). I highly recommend you give this place a try!

My friend and I went to Spindles recently and had a lovely time. The wine selection is great and fairly priced, our waitress made some great suggestions for each of our flights. We had the marinated olives, which were completely addicting to eat and it was a generous portion. I got reuben sliders with french fries, the sliders were good, but I wish the fries were normal fries and not matchstick. She got lobster poppers and enjoyed her meal. We both loved the fact that there was a sax and bass player playing jazz. I'll be back for sure!

Went for dinner before a show at the Music Hall. The food and wine were good, but for some reason the service was very slow that night. Show was at 8, we got there at 6. We ordered a few apps and an entree to split. Took 90 minutes before the entree came out. The staff and atmosphere are nice. Pictured are the bacon wrapped stuffed dates and deep fried deviled eggs

On Friday, we went to spindles for dinner. We left after a drink and appetizers because on two occasions we distinctly smelled cigarette smoke which lingered for a while and ruined our plans to stay. It was unfortunate because we had heard positive reviews about the food.

The wine was good and the atmosphere was nice as well. The service was terrible though there was 2 of us and we each ordered 2 food items and waited over an hour for them. Plus our waitress barely checked back with us. The food was good but the service was terrible.
The drinks were good the service was friendly. But the food was terrible. The roasted beet salad was almost canned or just maybe some steamed nothing roasted about it. The short rib was one little piece of short rib which was all fat . And they just gave you like a mound of fettuccine and roasted vegetables. With a ton of sauce that was just big bullion nothing homemade about it and it was super salty. The best thing on the plate was a roasted vegetables. Which seem to be actually roasted Vegetables which actually seemed to be roasted. Really wanted to find a new restaurant to go to and love it maybe some of the other items which sound really good are actually good.
The place is great but the service sucks. We sat down and waited 20 mins for the waitress. She eventually showed up took our order and only saw her again when she dropped our food off(which tasted really good). In order to get another drink we had to go all the way to the bar. The waitress walked right past us and acted like she didn't see us. We even had to cash out at the bar. If it wasn't for the spectacular bartender this place would have 1 star!

I placed a $90.00 order in which I was rather excited for, after being told it would be a one hour wait I received notice 15 mins later stating it would be closer to 1.5 hours. Not the end of the world for such a great meal right ... after two hours I received an email stating the order was refunded and canceled due to it being placed after the hours of operation( even though I received status updates and placed the order 2 hours before close ) I thought this clearly must be a mistake so I gave them the benefit of of the doubt and called to clear things up, but no surprise following the common theme of lackluster service my call was ignored twice and sent a voicemail that hasn’t been set up yet . I have never been more disappointed in a restaurant or their process, by the time the cancellation was placed it was 958pm conveniently 2 mins prior to close. so thank you spindle for your lack of consideration and “quality of service”. Not only will I never order take out or step foot in your establishment again, I will also be deterring friends and family that have previously spoke very highly of from returning as well. Hope you have a better night than I have.
Horrible experience here. Last night me and my husband decided to order out and the menu here looked great. Placed an order from GrubHub within restaurant hours for $90 of food. Got a text "Spindles is preparing your order to be delivered 9:25-9:35PM" followed by a text "your order is delayed and will now arrive between 9:45 and 9:55." So we're waiting and it's finally around 10:00 when I check my phone to a text, "We're sorry but something went wrong and we had to cancel your order." I check the email as to why it was canceled and it's "order canceled due to restaurant stopped accepting orders." By then everything else around us was closed and we got no food. Called the place numerous times and nobody answered the phone. No apology, nothing. Worst experience of my life and I'm never ordering with GrubHub or Spindles again.
Having never been here, we made a reservation to dine with another couple on Saturday at 6:30. We arrived on time and were seated immediately as it wasn’t busy. We had tickets to an 8:00 show a few blocks away and thought we allowed plenty of time. We viewed the menu online, and decided on the filet. We were informed that the online menu is not current and that was not a dinner option. The fried lobster bites we intended to order were also no longer on the menu, however the chef was able to prepare them. Two apps arrived, then we waited and waited until 7:50, at which time, we asked for our dinners to go. Flatbread, a beet salad, and bacon wrapped chicken bites took over an hour. Our waitress was largely absent and unpleasant when present. The food was expensive and bland. We informed her that we were now in a rush and she still didn’t return. We paid our bill with the bartender instead. We spent over $100 to be disappointed in the food, atmosphere and service. We spend a lot of time in Cohoes, but we will never return to Spindles.
I went here early on a Friday night to treat myself to dinner. The server was very pleasant and it was a cozy little place. Unfortunately, when I tried to order they were out of four items on their tiny menu. All items I would have ordered. Since there was really nothing left that I felt like eating I left after a glass of wine. Why on earth would this happen, especially on a weekend? So disappointing.
