One of many great meals at Karavalli. Seems to get better all the time. Quiet when we arrived for an early reservation. Seated promptly, a bit difficult to get a waitperson at first but after that great service. The waiter/bartender took extra care either a cosmopolitan order placed a certain way and took it upon himself to add a bit of an ingredient not normally included. It was wonderful. For an appetizer rather than the usual fried fare we shared a spring dosa, sort of a large pancake filled with veggies and a bit of cheese. Delicious. Dinner was vegetables Malabar for one of us…..vegetables in a mild coconut based curry. Spouse had half of the Tandoori chicken, perfectly done and spiced, and I had prawns melee, a plate with large shrimp in a coconut based curry, rice, broccoli, and garlic naan. Compel and I enjoy it more every time. Best Indian food we have had in Albany and maybe anywhere.

I ordered the tamarind margarita; hubs ordered the old fashioned. I got the chicken korma and veggie samosas, hubs got the goat chettinadu and garlic naan. Both drinks and food were phenomenal! I’ve never had Indian cuisine this good, nor have I had a margarita this delicious. The entire meal was a sensory experience. Our server, Akil, was kind, attentive, and a lovely conversationalist. We will happily return soon!

Karavalli in Latham absolutely transported me back to India — every bite felt like a little moment of home. This was our first time trying the weekend lunch buffet, and it genuinely exceeded every expectation. The staff was so kind, welcoming, and attentive, which made the experience even more wonderful. The flavors were rich, warm, and lovingly prepared, and knowing their goat, lamb, and chicken dishes are halal made the meal feel even more special. And the gulab jamun… soft, warm, pillowy perfection — the sweetest ending to a beautiful meal. We left so happy, and we can’t wait to come back 🧡

I stopped by Karavalli in Latham for their lunch buffet, and it was absolutely delicious! Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and you can tell they put real care into the food. The chicken tikka masala was the standout for me, creamy, rich, and perfectly spiced. I also loved the gulab jamun for dessert, warm, sweet, and just the right texture. I finished off with a madras coffee, which was the perfect way to wrap up the meal. The staff was friendly and attentive, and I loved the new wall artwork, pictured below. Definitely my favorite Indian spot in the Capital Region

Phenomenal! Abundant, delicious food for a great price. We were a large group >15 and everyone was raving about the food. Plenty of leftovers for us to enjoy the following day. Will definitely be back.

I came here for a company gathering and everything was perfect 👌 Staff was excellent, attentive, and professional. Everyone was friendly and explained the contents of the dishes to those who's first time was trying Indian food. The food was absolutely amazing and the portions were huge. We joked thay we thought that our appetizers were dessert. There wasn't a dish we didn't love. They also made it amazing to take home our food too. *Try their sugar dumplings. It's warm and sweet and an amazing dessert to end a full course meal!

Firstly, if I could give 1,000 stars to the staff, I would in a heartbeat! The staff were all SO friendly, welcoming, kind and just brought a genuine kindness and warmness. The atmosphere was SO nice, too. Very clean, very pretty, and overall just a fantastic vibe to it. The decor was excellent, seating was comfortable, plenty of space. The food was also fantastic! The naan was delicious and my group of four enjoyed all of our appetizers, meals and drinks so much! I had never tried an actual Indian restaurant before, I would a million percent be back again! Everything had an excellent amount of flavor and there were plenty of options to choose from! 10/10 big recommended on this place!

Absolutely loved this place! The Indian food was flavorful and authentic—especially the samosa chaat and chili paneer—and the Tamarind Margarita was a unique and delicious twist. The service was outstanding: staff were attentive, well-trained, and perfectly timed everything from water refills to food delivery. Our waiter, Akhil, was incredibly kind and made the experience even better by surprising us with a homemade dessert treat—it was like a tiramisu cake (without coffee) and absolutely amazing! It’s rare to find such great food and service at such a reasonable price. Highly recommend checking it out!

This was my third visit to Karavalli, and it just keeps getting better! The service was excellent everyone was so attentive and friendly. I had the lamb rack with sauce (incredible!) and the spicy Tandoori wings so good. It’s a warm, family-friendly spot with great food, great vibes, and a full bar. A must-try if you haven’t been yet!

Absolutely amazing! This is our second time eating here and it was perfect, just like the first time. We had vegetable samosas, chicken ammwala, with garlic and cheese naan. This is the best Indian restaurant I’ve been to. Highly recommend trying it!

Probably THE BEST Indian restaurant in the capital district. I usually don't like chicken from most Desi places but I tried their kabab sampler (all chicken) and it was divine. The rest of the food were all amazing. Wish there were more places like this. Yes a bit pricey, but the food is amazing.

The $18 weekend lunch buffet might be the best value meal I’ve come across. Huge selection. The flavors are way up there too. They could’ve made the food mediocre and it would still be good value, yet they ensured the food was stunningly delicious. I especially couldn’t get enough of the Vada: light, crispy, aromatic with lots of curry leaves. This restaurant feels like it exists to feed a community more than it prioritizes profits. Much love for Karavalli.
