Had a really nice dinner here! You walk up directly to the grill to order. Had my food within 2 min, and was enjoying some amazing brisket. The portions were on the small side, but went on employee recommendation. Nice vibe and excellent food!
Great food, great service. Highly recommend the burnt ends.
Stop what you are doing and EAT HERE!!!! We stopped here on the way back from Houston to charge our car and couldn’t resist the smell. We live right next to a Hutchins and Hard Eight and those places have nothing on these guys. The service was excellent, the sides are way better than they look (and they look amazing), and the meat! O. M. G. The burnt ends were the best I’ve ever had. Make sure you have them baptize them!!! We’ve already talked about driving 2.5 hours back just to eat here again.
Stopped here on the way home to charge the car - got a milkshake and some grilled corn for a snack. Random - I know. But both were absolutely delicious and the staff was SO kind and helpful. Especially the young man making my milkshake. I got a chocolate milkshake and it was sooooo good!!!! Next time we come, I’ll definitely try more of the menu. Overall a really great unexpected experience.
Good Texas barbecue. I like the rub they use on the brisket. Some sides are better than others but none are bad. I prefer the corn and of course the free beans. My wife really likes the loaded mashed potatoes. The fact they have Coke products is the cherry on top. My wife won't repeat visit a place if they don't. We'll continue to frequent here because the food is good, the people nice and the soda's Coke.
Cooper’s BBQ delivered a great experience overall. The food was delicious, hot, fresh, and perfectly smoky, exactly what you want from solid Texas BBQ. Everything came out fast and flavorful. The service was exemplary as well; the staff was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of the whole time. On top of that, the bar had really good drinks that paired well with the meal. I’d definitely recommend everyone take away at Cooper’s BBQ if you’re looking for quality food and great service.
Coopers is the absolute best BBq I've ever had in my 23 years as a Texan. My Sister came in from out of town to meet up with my brother his girlfriend and myself. We made ourselves comfortable at the bar when we walked in. They had the Aggie game on vs Missouri. The brisket was so delicious as was theccreamed corn, green beans, fully loaded potatoes and of course the Peach Cobbler. The manager was so hospitable he made our prime rib and brought it to us without a word. He had then later offered to wrap it in foil so my sister could bring it back for my Dad. I will definitely be bringing my wife back to enjoy. Thank you so much Coopers for a great meal and your attention to detail in your service will not be forgotten.
Solid choice here for classic Texas BBQ. The ribs were on point and the ranch mashed taters were excellent. Brisket was good and my wife just raved about the greens. The pork was alright, but not as good as the chicken. Sure did smell good from the red light and it did not disappoint. Lots of Aggie gear in there to check out. We really enjoyed the dinner.
Best darn bbq I’ve had in a long time. We had both lean and moist brisket, plate and sandwich and sides. Added a few sides of potatoe salad and green beans, then topped our trays off with pinto beans (free and all you can eat!!) from the condiment bar. Needless to say we had plenty of food to eat and scarfed it down with all you can drink soda and sweet tea. Delicious and definitely delightful, I’ll definitely be going back again. Thanks to the kitchen staff for turning out some great eats!
I've been all over this great state and seen many places and good places to eat. But this place is the number one place I've been to since I have been doing this Google research. I arrived a little early and a kind gentleman came outside and asked me what I was doing. I told him I wanted to come on in and take some pictures and let people know this barbecue is Good from other places I visited and he welcomed me in like I've been living here and one of the regulars. The hospitality I received here was legendary and I wish everyone could come down here and enjoy not only the great place to get some grub on if you're hungry for some good delicious food. But enjoy the ownership and staff here as well good old folks good old food. This place also had a bar where you can come up and sit down and watch a little bit of cowboys play and some Aggie football. So if you're visiting Texas and you want to come down yonder check out this place you will not be disappointed and I want to thank the staff and owners for making me feel like this place was my second home. God bless you amen.

Love the Mac n cheese. Brisket can be hit or miss like a lot of bbq spots, but when they're on it's delicious. It's usually very well seasoned. Some of the best bbq in college station area.
Good food just small portions and on the pricey side. staff was friendly which is important

Great food and an even better atmosphere! I Had a great experience! I got some brisket and jalapeño and bacon mac and cheese, it even came with complementary into beans and sauce! Will be back!
We drove to college station 4 a day trip. Wanted Kreuz but it closed down. Ordered 3 slices of brisket n 2 ribs n a couple of sides with sweet tea. $76 lunch.!
Fairly decent BBQ. I was not particularly a fan of their pork ribs, but the brisket was pretty good. A couple guys in front of me looked like regulars and they immediately asked for beef ribs and a pork chop so I would go for that (looked real good). I tried the pork ribs and brisket. I will say that the brisket was pretty good, but make sure to ask for not a lot of fat! Otherwise, you will get a mouthful of only fat which is not my cup of tea. Always look at what they got, ask for a center cut on the pork ribs, and tell them your specific preference. Some people might actually like a lot of fat! The pork ribs are not that great, but the beef ribs looked 🔥 The sides were a solid B-
The facility is pretty awesome, great place to enjoy hanging out and sharing a meal. TVs are scattered around the dining area, and while we were there it was college softball and baseball on all of them, LOVED IT. We arrived mid afternoon around 3pm so there were plenty of seats, and when we walked in there was no wait to order. We walked up a woman came out and shared with us the process and how to place our order, she was extremely friendly, and a great start. When we ordered i was a bit surprised by a few things that I had never experienced at other BBQ restaurants. We got our cuts of meat, they were handed to us, then the next person took them from us to weigh (to a station out of our sight), but then after they weighed them they packaged/wrapped all of the meat together (Strange that the meats were mixed). My daughter who had ordered turkey, was bothered that her order was packaged with the beef order. I mentioned to the lady working the counter that we were dining in, and there was no need to package the meat, and she looked at me like I was crazy, and gave me a bit of an attitude. She then asked what sides we wanted, and I will admit we took a few seconds (less than half a minute) to decide what we wanted and the sizes, out of the first section, Mac & Cheese (Our preference would be that it was thicker in consistency), then moved down, and without looking up, I asked about what desserts there were, and the lady who was helping us was GONE, so we waited for her to return and added Apple Cobbler (WOW, LOVED IT), I should have ordered a bucket full) to our order. Checking out was easy, and the cashier was friendly. My daughter picked out 2 sauces for us to try, one sweet and the other was original. My first bite of brisket was good, but not great, there was a flavor I wasn't used to with other briskets I have had, I tried a second bite and it was the same. The third bite I added the sweet sauce, and it was okay, pretty good flavor, I was not ready for it to be watery (like a marinade, it had been a long time since I had this type). My 4th bite i added their original sauce, this was my favorite "thin" sauce I have ever tried, very good flavor, and went perfectly with the brisket. This was different for me, as usually I gravitate to the sweeter sauces. My daughter really liked the turkey, she tried both of the sauces and preferred the turkey without sauce. I tried a bite of turkey and it was good, but I had brisket to get back to. Overall the food was good, the service in most of the areas was great, and the atmosphere was incredible, I can imagine this place being packed to watch the Aggies, on a Saturday afternoon, I bet that is an incredible experience.
I ordered the 2 Friend Feast plus a Beef Rib and drink. I was hungry and yes I finished everything. The ribs were good and cooked nicely, but unexpected a stronger smoke flavor and the seasoning was only salt. It was good, but I make better at home on my smoker. I would order the ribs again, but it is with the understanding that they are a different style than I prefer. The brisket was similar to the rib experience. Better than good but not great. Light seasoning and lighter smoke. However, correctly cooked and a nice mix of fat and meat. The mac and cheese side was also good or maybe even really good. The potatoes were great! I would order those as ALL my side options next time. It was a bit expensive at $59 for the 2 Person Feast, 1 rib, 2 sides, and a drink. I left full and with a smile. If you want nice bbq meat and are willing to spend a bit on it, Coopers is a good choice.
Came here looking for an alternative to Rudy's, which IMO isn't quite as good as it used to be. Great first impression; the outside just looks like a good BBQ place, and inside it's decked out in A&M stuff, and I love it. It wasn't obvious to us how to order, but we got that sorted out pretty quick. The brisket was okay, but there was a tough outer layer and a lot of fat, and I didn't fall in love with either BBQ sauce. The sausage was very good (my mouth is watering just thinking about it). The mashed-potato-style potato salad was fine, but not what a mustard-based potato salad lover like me prefers. Liked (but didn't love) the jalapeno & bacon macaroni & cheese. Oddly though, my favorite side was the FREE pinto beans that were at the toppings & sauces bar. They were really good! Bottom line: more I-would-try-it-again than can't-wait-to-go-back.
Ordered a pound brisket and a pound beef ribs. The food was good but we had better brisket and beef ribs before. The barbecue sauce was not delicious. The seats were to far from the table and they were not comfortable. Payed around $70 for everything including medium green beans and a small coleslaw.
Our pellet smoker was on the fritz last night and had to cook the skin-on, bone-in chicken breasts in our air fryer and while they came out shockingly good... the absence of smoke was obvious! So I was craving smoked meats for dinner tonight. Stopped 1st at the meat pit and got 1/2 smoked chicken, 1/2lbs of beef rib, 1/4lbs of burnt-ends and goat🐐... then proceeded to pick-up several sides. At the sides stations we picked-up 2x side-salads🥗, 4oz cream corn🌽, 8oz macaroni and cheese and the 8oz loaded smashed potatoes🥔. That's in addition to the two different BBQ sauces and 💣 beans🫘! The restaurant was clean and service was attentive and friendly. All-in (with taxes and tip) we spent $84.96 for 2 adults with big appetites... given the mountain of food and respective food quality... we were quite pleased! 🤩
Plain, expensive BBQ, nothing to write home about. Sauce was watered down. Twice baked potatoes were OK. Place was clean

Best brisket I've had in years. We order the family meals and always have more than enough to eat. Love the twice backed potatoes and the sweet tea. Super clean and the employees are always nice.

We ordered the Aggie special; bbq sandwich, chips & a drink for $18.99. It was a chopped brisket sandwich already mixed with bbq sauce, not moist. It tasted & looked like something out of a plastic container from Walmart. Very disappointing 😞. My brother got a chopped brisket sandwich also from the menu with sides & his sandwich was way bigger, thicker & looked 100% better than mine. He paid a way higher price for his, like $30+ for his with a side & drink. The food was very disappointing & we were traveling from Houston back home, I wanted great bbq but this was not it. The workers were all very nice & helpful.
The sausage was not much better than the cheapest links at fiesta. The sauce can only be described as vinegar with red dye. The sides were good though. Service was amazing though, really top notch crew. Wish the food was as good as the service.
1st n last time stopping here. Not impressed like I thought it would be. Smelled amazing walking through the door. The ribs n brisket were seasoned really good but not much pit bbq taste. Taste more like on the pit for an hour and cooked in the oven or warmer for multiple hours. Definitely tender though. Meat department and male cashier seemed like they didn’t wanna be there. Female server was nice n full of joy.
Staff was nice and atmosphere was good. Felt like a bbq joint. Food was extremely mid. Chicken and beef rib were very dry. Beef rib tasted like a roast. I don't think it's worth the money.

Brisket was ok but didnt taste much mesquite flavor. Bbq sauces lame. Tasted like tomato soup.. not bbq sauce. beans ok but not a lot of flavor. Hubby said coleslaw on sweet side but good.
The service is friendly at this Cooper's BBQ and the place provides a good venue for large meetings. While good, I think the food is a bit expensive for what one gets - $13.50 for a sliced brisket…
Got burnt ends and brisket togo. The burn ends were borderline inedible with how salty it was. Both were fairly dry and the I'm not a huge fan of the sauce. Very pricey on top of that as well. I'd suggest to try some of the other BBQ places in the area.
Great atmosphere. Sorry dry brisket, Good sides, highly priced, kid friendly. I’m from the houston area and I have much to compare it to. Rudy’s bbq is better. Might be a staple of the area, but it’s not that good especially to the price. Would I go back? No. Just an honest review.
(SOME CONTEXT FOR THIS REVIEW: This is the lowest rating I have ever given to a restaurant. I have had over 3.5 million views of my reviews and photos on Google Maps.) I was meeting two friends that had moved from Houston to Bryan and they suggested that we meet at Cooper's. We had eaten there once before, and the food was okay, but not great and so I was agreeable to giving it another try. It was one of my friends birthday, so I brought along 6 cupcakes for us to pick our favorite to eat and celebrate after lunch. Little did I know that this would turn out to be embarrassing fiasco!!!! I left the box of cupcakes at the table with my friend's wife, while the birthday boy and I went to go through the buffet line. I noticed that a young man was at our table talking with my friend's wife. Little did I know at the time, that he was informing her that we would have to pay $25 to consume the cupcakes in the restaurant! She must have pointed us out in the line and the young man came over to inform us about the charge. I was surprised and somewhat taken aback. I have eaten at hundreds of restaurants over the years and have never been so embarrassed that he had confronted my friend's wife but also was surprised that such a charge would exist in a somewhat lower end establishment. I am used to most restaurants even asking if they can supply plates and forks, or better yet bringing a surprise complimentary dessert to the table. I assured the young man that we would not be consuming the cupcakes in the establishment. I thought that this would be then end of the matter., but when we got to the cashier to pay for the $60+ meals of a baked potato, chopped sandwich and a brisket plate, the cashier charged me an additional $25 for the cake consumption even though I had advised the young man earlier that we would not be eating the cupcakes! At this point I was insulted and steaming. I insisted that the $25 charge be removed. Not only is the food average at best, the "brisket plate with sides", listed on the menu was definitely less than promised...the sides were the pickle and relish bar available to everyone eating in the restaurant...meaning the plate was definitely overpriced. The brisket (2/3 lean-cut and 1/3 marbled) of my order of was not as advertised either. See fat that I trimmed off in the attached photo. I would estimate 1/4 of the weight for which I was charged, was inedible fat!! The baked potato was small...definitely not the Demeris Bar-B-Q or Pappas Bar-B-Q sized used to getting in Houston! ...more like what you might get at Wendy"s! Having grown up in the restaurant business, I honored the establishment's request not to eat the cupcakes and advised them of that when we first spoke. But as I later mentioned to the cashier, I was offended that they would attempt to charge me $25 even after I advised that we were not going to eat the cupcakes; I was aghast that such a lower-end cafe would have such a charge and was once again disappointed in the quality and serving sizes of food. Unfortunately, the experience was worse the second time. But this will definitely be the last time I visit!
This place sure looks the part. It is a nice restaurant. Central Texas style buffet line where they serve the meat from their hot plate. Now for the food. I should have known not to go kind of late in the day but they were open and I figured it was so popular they'd have good food. That's where I was wrong. I'll start with the good. The jalapeno sausage was pretty good, kinda dry but had a good flavor. The light bread they served was pretty good. It was just plain old sliced bread but it was fresh and good. They have beans on the self-serve bar along with onion, pickles and jalapenos. All you want. The beans were thin, but they had a bean flavor. They were ok. Coleslaw was not bad either. Kinda sweet and sour type. Two types of BBQ sauce were also on the bar. One was vinegar based, runny with a pretty good flavor. The other was thicker with a sweeter flavor, pretty good also. It was downhill from there. Mac and cheese with brisket and jalapenos. It was tasteless. Kraft mac and cheese would have been better. 14$ Ribs were very dry. Kinda like they were deep fried after smoking. They had a strange flavor. The real reason to go to a BBQ joint is the brisket. I had a slice of moist. There was plenty of fat on there and some good looking bark. I was able to cut the first bite with a fork, it was ok with a little flavor. Then the next bite I could not cut. I had to go get a knife to cut the rest of it. Not my kind of brisket. The moist should have melted in your mouth, this did not. It just stuck in your teeth. Because of the ribs and brisket, I have to give the food a 1 star.

For 6 fatty ribs, 49 dollars. 1/2 pound of fatty brisket, I asked for lean was 24 dollars. 81 dollars after tax is horrible. I wanted to try this place out since it's closer to South College Station but I wish I would have took the drive a bit further down. The beans was the only thing with flavor, this is not a good representation of Texas barbecue. Try C and J if your want good barbecue at a better price. And please understand, for good food, the price never matters !
I know barbecue can be expensive but the amount of money that I paid for the little bit of food that was really not even that great was outrageous. $63 for 1/2 lb of brisket and 3 pork ribs, pork ribs were $31 by themselves. With an 8oz cup of cream corn. Let me start by saying the brisket was terrible and the ribs not so bad. But the cream of corn was a bit more on the salty side. With no hint of sweetness to it at all. About the only thing I enjoyed was the Dr pepper. There are plenty of other barbecue joints in College Station that won't gouge you on the price for their food. Sorry Cooper's, as a person that loves barbecue, you lost me as a customer.
