The chicken pastor quesadillas were amazing! So flavorful! Every bite was delicious. Service was fast, and the customer service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. And the free soft serve ice cream at the end is always a wonderful treat! A great experience and definitely ordering again!
The service was next level. Emmy was hands down the best server we’ve ever had. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared that we had a great time. You can tell when someone loves what they do and Emmy definitely does. Food was delicious, everything came out fast and fresh, and the restaurant was spotless (yes, I notice that stuff 😄). If you’re on the fence, go. Ask for Emmy. You won’t regret it.
Popped in for lunch. Pastor quesadillas where 💥💥. Brie was super friendly and gave great service. Recognized the manager, Gustavo; from a prior restaurant. Great people, great food, great atmosphere. Ill be back.
Food was amazing! Server was extremely friendly and did a fantastic job.
Had to come to College Station on a job. My son and I were told about this place. We stopped in and I am so glad we did. First off the atmosphere was awesome! The interior design of the restaurant was much more than I thought it would be. Our waitress, I believe her name was Brie, was one of the most attentive waitresses I have ever had. And the food, was excellent. My son had the beef fajitas and he said they were incredibly tender. I had a sampler plate and there was nothing on it that wasn't first rate. The chips that they serve with the queso were perfect. The cheese stayed warm and liquidy. The chips are perfectly cooked. The refried beans that I had were some of the best that I have ever had and my son had the borracho beans and he said they were great as well. The beef enchiladas were covered in a perfect enchilada sauce and the rice was perfectly cooked. The nachos were tasty with the same fajita meat on them. The only disappointment I had was the guacamole. I told the waitress that if they were to season it a little and put a little onion maybe tomato or something in it, it would be on par with everything else. But it was still good. She then hit us with a tres leches cake at the end and it was the perfect ending to the meal. They also have free ice cream on the way out. However we were so stuffed we were unable to take part of that! I am so excited that she said they are building a new one in Austin Texas so I will only have to drive an hour to get to it. I pray that it is ran as well as this one was. As far as Mexican food this was one of the best outings I have had in a long long time. Definitely a five-star!!!
Sophia was such a delight as our waitress. She was very attentive and sweet. Food and drinks were delicious. Despite it being busy, service was quick!
Recently met with other family members here while on a road trip. We went early in the evening about 5:30 pm and waited perhaps 15 min for a table. This place is always busy so we recommend planning accordingly. Environment is festive and casual! Our party ordered a variety of entrees including combination plates with enchiladas, tacos and queso dip. We also ordered guacamole. The plates were served shortly after ordering and were hot and were very tasty. Our server was friendly and helpful. One of the added features is a self-serve ice cream machine (a hit with families). All in all a great experience! Highly recommended!
Sophia (waitress), thank you… thank you for creating a safe space for me to vent and also the compassion and extent you went for a customer like myself. Of course, food was great, drink was amazing (Cadillac marg)… but just the mile you went for me, me not evening knowing… I appreciate you and i Thank God for you and the team etc. you’ve made my experience 20x better than what I thought I’d be in for.. you all made the spot feel like a safe HOME with a touch of love from the kitchen and that was needed for me during this time of having a heavy heart. God bless you all.
Do not be overwhelmed by the size. This restaurant is HUGE! There was a 45 wait when we went - game weekend! But we waited MAYBE 15 minutes. The staff was amazing. Our first time, and our server took time to go over options and favorites. Food came pretty quickly for how packed they were and was absolutely phenomenal! HIGHLY recommend this to ANYONE who visits College Station. Did I mention the adult beverages were awesome?! Will definitely go back.
This place was amazing. Everything came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The burgers were surprisingly good, juicy and well seasoned, and the taco salad was on point. You can tell they care about quality and consistency. The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was solid, and it just felt like a place you could relax and enjoy a good meal. Definitely a spot I’d come back to when I’m in College Station.
Hubs and I have never had a bad experience here. We had a new to us waiter, Nathan Torres, was phenomenal! Most attentive waiter we have had anywhere! Hugo, the bartender is also awesome! It all starts with a good manager and College Station has the best!
A TAMU/College Station institution. Came here in college and it’s still my go-to spot after games. Gringo’s is easily the best Tex-Mex in CStat — nothing else even comes close in my opinion. Our server was wonderful and incredibly kind, especially with me being on crutches. True hospitality, the kind that reminds you why this place has such a loyal following in the area. I also loved hate-watching the tu game with a bunch of other Ags after ours wrapped up — post game energy was great. If you’ve never been, go! I wish we had one in Austin!
We dined at Gringo’s in College Station and had a wonderful experience. The food and service were exceptional. The chips, hot queso, and their new Hatch Chile Quesadilla were absolutely delicious. Our server was attentive, friendly, and provided outstanding service throughout. The facility is warm and inviting, offering great complimentary ice cream that adds a sweet finishing touch. Overall, it was a delightful and memorable dining experience.
Had an awesome experience at Gringo's College Station! Came in for a late lunch, and was seated almost instantly. Had great service, and got refills for chips and salsa. The food portions were generous, and there were many delicious dips and sauces included with the food. Greatly appreciated that they did not skimp on avocado. After our outstanding meal, we were pleasantly greeted by their free soft serve machine with vanilla, chocolate, and a swirl of both available for no additional charge. Overall great experience, would recommend to anyone in the area!
The food was as delicious as usual. I couldn’t resist my all-time favorite, the Steak Quesadilla . They’re always so juicy and tender. Tonight, we were greeted by the manager, Robert, who was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. I’ll definitely be returning to this place.
I visited this restaurant with my family for a post-graduation dinner. We had to wait about an hour for a table on a hot summer day. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor waiting areas. The indoor area was full, so we had to wait outside. The outside waiting area had fans running, but it was not enough for the summer heat. So, we waited in our car. Once our table was ready, we received a text notification. Our server was friendly and gave us excellent suggestions while ordering. We ordered the Chicken and Beef Fajita plate, Fajita Salad, Tampico plate, Steak Fajita Tacos, and a combination plate. The meat was juicy and perfectly cooked, and the food was absolutely delicious. Overall, we had a fantastic dining experience!
It was our second time at gringos first time at the college station location. The food was as amazing as it was the first time, but the service was not. The service was subpar at least waitress paid attention to us and seem like she had very little time to do her job manager came by our table and asked us how everything was going at that time. It was fine atmosphere at gringos in College. Station is very nice. Restaurant was clean. Restaurants were clean. It was just our waitress. She was nice just a little un‘ attentive.
Solid dining experience. The wait is excruciating long, but you can check in online and be in line for ninety minutes. BE WARNED, if you haven’t arrived at the restaurant and checked in with the hostess before the ninety minutes is up, you will be dropped from the list and have to get back in line at the end. (For reference, at 5:30 when we checked in there were 68 people in line ahead of us.) Once seated, the service was fine. Not the best I’ve ever had, but they were jam packed and Parker was doing his best, all orders were correct! Food was very good. Nothing out of this world, but would definitely come back. Prices for the food were all fair, however drinks were another story. I got a grande Cadillac margarita and it was $15, and tasted like a plain Jane margarita, nothing special at all. My entire combo plate was only $14. Added bonus of free ice cream by the front door on your way out, so that’s nice!
Fajitas were Great! Chips and Queso were awesome! Cadillac Margarita was not very good. Gustavo was friendly and helpful. Would visit again.
Virgil was a very attentive and detail oriented server. He got it all right. We were both impressed with the freshness of the food. I had a fajita salad and all the vegetables were so fresh, cold, crisp, delicious: radishes, jicama, cabbage, etc.The chicken was very moist. My only quibble is nothing was spicy. Next time, I’d add jalapeños to it. My guy had bean tostada, crispy beef taco, and chip with queso. He enjoyed them all - again light and fresh tasting. Nothing greasy, gloppy like lots of restaurant Mexican restaurant food. My other quibble was the red salsa and chips. I’m not a fan of either of theirs BUT the green crema salsa was so delicious I’d like to drown in it. I used it for salad dressing. We would definitely recommend and return. Bit noisy in there but it was Saturday night. We arrived at 5:15pm and were seated immediately.
We were seated super quickly. The server was just not very good—I had to ask for silver ware 3x and she added food we didn’t even order. No one ever refilled our chips and salsa. But the food was good and the margarita tasted fresh. The inside of the restaurant was super cute and clean. Nice to get free ice cream at end.
January 2025 Great vibe and exciting family atmosphere. Good food presentation. Unfortunately, taste and flavor wasn’t there. Our serve did a great job. Very attentive and courteous, great job recommending products. Free ice cream is very tactical and strategic move to win customers. Good job! My rating as 5 is very satisfied Taste 3/5 Attentive and courteous 5/5 Cleanliness 5/5 Speed of service 5/5. Will I recommend? Yes. Will I return? No sure.
