Serious Food

On our way back to the Cleveland area this past summer, we stopped by chance in this sweet, charming place. It's general store is filled with nostalgia, hard to find candy and unusual soft drinks and t-shirts among other things. Best was the cheeseburger on a hard roll with the best hot sauce ever. Apparently it won as the best hot sauce in the Rochester area out of over 400 contestants. Lovely owner too. We'll be back!

Excellent fish fry. Large piece of haddock perfectly cooked. Crispy fries and flavorful coleslaw. Tatar sauce was very good and a generous portion. It was all vary filling so we made toast this morning with the nice yeasty roll with butter.

This food is to die for!!! Quite possibly. the best hidden dive food spot in the state!! The curly fries are the best I have ever had and the burgers with homemade hot sauce is some of the best I have ever had. The whole menu is great. Awesome food and awesome prices! A must have!

The food is awesome here in the store that goes with it has the best food and t-shirts available! Always when I'm in the area of Conesus Lake, it is a must to stop there! The owner and all of her staff are wonderful!

Roadside greasy spoon for burgers and dogs and ice cream. Good food and plenty of outdoor seating space. A little country store right next to it with a fun mix of weird decorations adds to the charm. Indoor the store serves breakfast with mix matched chairs, even barber chairs for seating.

I got the garbage plate because I heard it was excellent unfortunately the one we got tasted like hot sauce mixed with oil not the meat sauce I'm used to getting at any other garbage plate in the Rochester area

Stop tonight for some jerk chicken wings and right off the bat I could smell they were different the recipe is off it's not the same taste that I had a month ago they were okay cooked completely just wasn't the taste I'm used to different mix or something.

Have been coming here for years. The food is not as good. The chicken sandwich was good. I ask for a red hot with onions. I got a red hot with 4 onion pieces. The curly fries were cold sitting in grease.

Last year food was hit and miss this year even worse garbage plate is a joke potato’s over cooked and black and barley a handfull of Mac salad or potato’s and beans has a small spoon full toped with 2 over cooked cheeseburgers what a shame of what this place used to be.

Our experience on July 4th was very disappointing. We brought our family there and had really hyped it up as we had good food here last year. Our French fries arrived limp, cold and greasy. Our chicken parm sandwiches were also greasy. You need to change your oil. This location is excellent and you have an opportunity to do outstanding, but we won't be back or bring anyone there again.

Our experience on July 4th was very disappointing. We brought our family there and had really hyped it up as we had good food here last year. Our French fries arrived limp, cold and greasy. Our chicken parm sandwiches were also greasy. You need to change your oil. This location is excellent and you have an opportunity to do outstanding, but we won't be back or bring anyone there again.
