Went during lunch time. Enjoyed a quick drink and bite downstairs. The bowl was light and refreshing but the best part was the view.

A nice fishy experience! With some beautiful views! This place has a great atmosphere with lots of room. With indoor and outdoor seating. The main entrance and the ToGo window are on the second level. So be ready to climb a few steps or use the Handicap accessible ramp! Great deck space with benches to wait when the place is a little busy. All in all worth a visit especially if you love some good sea food!!

Visited for the first time July 2024 with two other couples and my two kids. We enjoyed our experience. The food was delicious and hot and our waitress was great. The views made everything even better. Would definitely recommend.

First time visiting here from out of town and would recommend/ visit again. Had the crab stuffed flounder, and it was 10/10 Came on a Thursday and they had live music that was also very good. Also had a great view overlooking the water. Overall a great spot to grab food or drinks

We had the stuffed flounder with crab and crawfish topping sauce, excellent! Waitress and entire staff friendly and courteous. It was Father's Day, and the wait was less than 25 minutes. The only takeaway was that the entree could have been warmer 😞

We arrived about 130 pm on a Saturday, the parking lot was full. We had about a 20 minute wait that was filled with watching the gents clean fish that were brought up by local boats. Doc's is a great place with a beautiful view over the water, full bar and great people. The service was top notch, our server was fantastic. The food was beyond expectations, beautifully plated, authentic, fresh and delicious. We were so pleased to get a great meal. Thanks for a wonderful lunch! Highly recommend enjoying a meal at Doc's.

I really love the laid-back atmosphere at Doc’s- such a great vibe! The view is amazing, the food hits the spot, and the sweet tea is seriously the bomb. I do miss the sugar scrub they used to have in the bathrooms (bring it back, please!). Little note to the restaurant: more fans or air circulation would be awesome on those warmer days. 😅

Kelly is hands-down the best bartender at Waterline — actually, he’s one of my favorite people, period. Every time I walk in, Kelly makes me feel welcome with his upbeat attitude, quick wit, and incredible attention to detail. He knows exactly how to craft the perfect drink, and he remembers his customers in a way that makes you feel like more than just another bar tab. Whether it’s a packed house or a quiet night, Kelly’s energy is consistent: friendly, professional, and personable. He genuinely cares about creating a great experience for everyone, and you can tell he takes pride in what he does. If you’re at Waterline, make sure you say hi to Kelly — you won’t regret it. Cheers to him for making every visit feel like hanging out with a friend.

This place absolutely rocks! We were a walk-in party of 13 that came in at 8:45 pm (they close @9:30) Not ideal and we felt bad because there was already a wait and we were fully prepared to get turned away and go into corpus to find a place open. The hostess asked us if we were with a party and we told her No, we were walk-ins and she replied, Even Better and that we would be sat asap! I wish I could remember her name because she was so accommodating to us! As we get sat, around 9:15 or so we are greeted by Bethany with nothing but smiles. I gotta tell you, the service the young lady gave us was absolutely phenomenal! We weren’t waiting for drinks or anything really from the get go. When I say she was on top of it, I truly mean that! She gave great suggestions from the menu which I’ll get too but I really needed to just brag on her for a moment. Big party after a long shift at the end of the night. You wouldn’t have known it, but everyone and I mean everyone in my family were just in awe of the service. Keep it up! Food: the portions were generous for the price which was an initial concern but after seeing the plates I wasn’t mad at all. I had the mahi mahi tacos which weren’t on the menu but when I asked how the yellow fin tuna tacos were she suggested those and it was an immediate yes! I received 3 nice sized tacos Had a little kick to them but not over powering and the rice that came on the side helped my pallet enjoy each scrumptious bite. My wife split the Coastal Bacon Wrapped shrimp and the crab cake. They enjoyed their meal and the only thing about shrimp is that they would want a creamy sauce to dip. The crab cake seemed a little small compared to everything else we received so nothing special to write about there. Momma got the chicken fried steak, I know I know-but she isn’t a seafood lover and said the batter was nice and light and also had a great flavor to it. Kids ate burgers and I’m assuming they loved them cause there wasn’t anything to take home! It was around 10:15 pm and we were the last customers there and Bethany and the crew told us to enjoy our meals and take our time. They started closing up the inside of the restaurant which we had absolutely zero problems with. When we received our checks. Everything was in order and we noticed that there was No Gratuity added which was a little surprising considering how big our party was. So yes my Momma was walking out she thanked Bethany and said don’t worry, my children will take great care of you. Which I think we did, think all of us gave her well over 30% because the service, ambiance and food was just that good! Lastly: Thanks Bethany and Crew! We will see y’all again next year when we go back!

Had the grilled coconut shrimp and it was amazing!!! My husband had the grilled tuna tacos and loved them as well. No ac but they had fans to try and help with the heat. I would suggest more fans. Even out on the balcony it was incredible hot and if you didn’t have one of the fans on you it was just way too hot. It’s all open space. Live music was playing and the restaurant was full but we got in without a wait. You can also order food to go and eat downstairs at their bar. Will go back again but maybe after the sun sets or on a cooler day.

We visit the coast 3-4 times a year and Doc’s is always one of our stops. The margaritas on the waterline are beyond delicious. We’ve tried the seafood queso, tuna steak sandwich (our fav), seafood flounder, and so much more. The wait staff, the atmosphere, we are never disappointed when we stop in. All this and I haven’t even mentioned the view! The sunsets are amazing. Don’t let the parking lot and wait intimidate you. Have a drink downstairs while you wait or just enjoy the peaceful view.

This is the second time we've gone and both times were great! I love the relaxing atmosphere. The live music was a great addition. The food was wonderful! We tried the clam strips for an appetizer. I got the grilled coconut shrimp and my husband got the rajin Cajun burger. Everything was very good! Our waitress was wonderful

S
Sandy Cheeks1234

Absolutely amazing couldn't ask for better food and service can't even explain it we got the egg rolls and seafood queso dip for appetizers ours meals were the Yard bird, chicken was so juicy and the surf and turf both with crayfish sauce thats amazing i literally cut my steak with a butter knife with a side of bacon wrapped shrimp and queso it was an amazing experience right on the water the view was to die for definitely coming back

Visited Doc’s for the first time and we enjoyed it. We saw that they had clam chowder - being that we are from New England, home of the white chowda, we just had to give it a try. It was pretty good for non New England chowder. We also had the Cajun fries and peel and eat shrimp. Both were very good. They were some of the best shrimp that I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend all 3 of those apps. Service was wonderful. Shay was very pleasant and answered all of our questions. We had a great view as well. Would recommend to anyone!

The place is very nice! It is unique because of its amazing and stunning view, which looks straight out to the Corpus Christi Bay. It is recommended to visit a bit before sunset so you can enjoy an even more better view. The food was great, and there are not just seafood options, so anyone who prefers something else can be sure they’ll find something that works for them. The service is good. The only thing you should know in advance before visiting is that there may be a line to get a table, especially during the season, but in my opinion, the wait is worth it even though I usually don’t wait to be seated, this is an exception I would totally make.

This is one of the best seafood restaurants I've ever had the pleasure of eating at Our Texas family invited us while we were on vacation our table over looking the ocean was the best 👌 I highly recommend this place

Delicious! Loved the open breezy atmosphere on the water. Loved the live music. Great service. Did have to wait to be seated, group of 8, I think we got there when there had been a fishing tournament or something, on a saturday at dinner time, it was very busy?

Update; We were here again, July 25th and had an early dinner. They continue to have awesome food. Consistency is very important. So we will always come here when we're in the area. We came here for the first time on July 9th and had dinner. The quoted 20 minute wait turned into closer to 45 minutes, but this place was packed, so no biggie. The food was awesome and well worth the wait. Our waitress, Courtney, was great. Very friendly and informative on the different dishes. The restrooms were not all that clean and they should have paper towel dispensers, not the hand air dryers. Next time we're in the area, we will definitely come back.

This place Rocks! On a mini-vacation with the Wife in Corpus Christi, TX and this Family-run business does it Right! Great variety of foods; Military Friendly; Service is Spot On; and the Ambience Kicks Butt along with Live Music! Definitely recommend this place; come out and try the Ragin-Cajun Burger! 🍔 You’ll Love it! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

We stop by here every time we are in Corpus/Port Aransas. Food is always great with a great view of the water. Staff is friendly and helpful. The parking lot can fill up quick when it's busy and you may have to walk a few minutes but it's not too bad.

My husband & I traveled down for the day and wanted to find a restaurant exclusive to the area, not a chain restaurant. We really appreciated the environment. The atmosphere was pleasant. Our server, Jennifer, was great! The food was delicious and well prepped/cooked. We plan on coming back when we are in the area again.

Visited tonight 6/2/25, and the food was amazing. Top it off with 1st class service from our waitress, and this was an awesome first visit! We'll be back the next time we're in town!

I really enjoyed this place! The wait is always long on a weekend evening but grab a couple of drinks and enjoy the view while you wait. We waited about 40 minutes, and were seated with a beautiful view. The ambiance is great! The waiter was friendly and courteous & food came out quickly and was delicious. We had a great experience and would definitely come back.

My wife and I stopped here during our honeymoon. This was absolutely the best seafood either of us have ever had. The service was amazing, very fast and friendly. Our cups were never empty and the server wasn't pushy. He was very patient and knowledgeable when explaining the specials. My wife had the fried shrimp platter and I had the mahi special. We split the fried cheesecake for dessert and we sat right next to the dock.

Food was awesome. Ordered the fried shrimp....oh my. So good. Flounder was perfect and the crab cakes were great. Service was very good and the food came out so quickly. Definitely will be coming back.

Delish!!! Pluses: Get the grilled coconut shrimp. So yummy. The fried clams were great. Loved the crab cakes, blackened redfish, and yellowfin tuna (med rare) fabulous!!! Not so great: The clam chauda was not the best. More like cream of potato soup. The vibe was so chill I loved it. We went at sunset. Amazing.

The atmosphere is rustic and outdoors, so be prepared to sweat a bit while eating. The staff was friendly and upbeat. The fried shrimp, French fries and flounder were excellent. The crab cake and coleslaw were good. They have a full service bar and gift shop

Next time we're coming to Doc's the first night of our trip so we can watch the sunset! What a fun place! It was packed when we passed it well after lunch and it was still packed before dinner, but plenty of room for everyone with zero wait time to be seated on Memorial Day! Live music! We could have listened to Justin's guitar music and singing for his whole set, but we needed to get back before the rush of traffic. Gluten Free and Plantbased options. Alli is the best waitress; be sure to ask for her! She took the guessing out of ordering by taking the time to describe several favorite menu items. If we had a question she couldn't answer, she found out quickly without making us feel our dietary restrictions were anything less than her #1 priority! She also pointed to the menu sections to help us navigate the incredible choices. Alli recommended the Strawberry Basil Lemonade and it was every drop as delightful as she described it would be! We'll be back very soon! Worth the drive from near San Antonio, TX, even just for a date night drive, dinner, and view.

We're new to this area. We took a day trip to Padre Island and decided to check out Docs. We loved it. The staff was great. Attentive, knowledgeable and pleasant. There was live music on a Sunday afternoon. Great beach music set The atmosphere. The dining area is large, wide open. They had the roll up doors open. The view looking over the sound towards the mainland was beautiful. We started out with beers from their decent menu. Dinner was great. We started with 1/2 dozen raw oysters on the half shell (one of our favorites). They were perfect. A little salty. A little muddy. I like cocktail sauce. Sharon likes lemon, horse radish on a saltine. I had blackened red fish with a guacamole and pico. Green beans and brown rice on the side. Sharon had the crab stuffed flounder, green beans and a salad. We grew up on the Gulf Coast. This is comfort food for us and Docs delivered.

Service was the very best there is. Annie our waitress was the best ever. She alone made us glad we chose to eat at Doc's. And then the atmosphere sitting over the water was sublime. Perfect breeze. Then the food came & we were in heaven. If you go & there's a wait!? Then just wait! It's so worth it.

Definitely recommend! The seafood here is incredibly fresh! The seafood lover platter (all fried) is crispy and not greasy at all. The clam chowder is creamy and clammy without being overwhelmingly fishy. The ceviche is super fresh with avocado and jalapeno to compliment the seafood, the chips that come with it are thin and super crunchy which we loved. The stuffed flounder has a crawfish sauce that is to die for! Hack: If the line is too long upstairs, order at the togo window and find seating downstairs. The crew will bring the food down for you, you get a great view of the water, and get to relax by the water listening to live music. Doing this cut our wait time from an hour to literally 10 mins. We sat downstairs and as we were talking about how they'd find us because it was so busy, they came in within 10 mins of us ordering. The food is great, the views are great, the staff is incredibly friendly. The prices are pretty good for the quality and quantity, we spent $100 for two people ~ 2 appetizers, 2 drinks, 2 entrees, and 2 desserts.

F
Freddy James

A wonderful greeting for you when you get inside. Also, to let you know how long the wait will be right off the bat. You don't have to worry because we only waited a half hour. You are given a buzzer to let you know when you will be seated. So have a Margarita and relax. It's a very open ampospere with good views. My wife had the parmesan crusted blackened redfish with a shrimp creamy sauce 😋 absolutely delicious! I decided to go with the Wisconsin cheeseburger, which was also delicious. The service was great, very friendly staff. We hope you enjoy your meal, we did and it was well worth it!

B
Bryan Morton

The food was great all around. We got the ceviche, clam bites, crab stuffed flounder, and the ny strip steak doc's style. Everything had good flavor and it came out in a timely manner. The atmosphere was great for a beach side restaurant and they had live music as well. I'm usually not a fan of live music at restaurants, but most people enjoy it. Food is king, and everything really tasted good.

Typically our annual favorite spot to visit when we’re in Corpus. Food is always amazing. Hard to beat views. Kid friendly. Highly recommend for lunch or dinner!

Mostly I have super good service, just this past time I was waiting a bit for my waitress to take my order. The food is good, they have live music, and the setting and surrounding views are nice. I don't know if it's just on the weekends but they tend to have a photographer taking free complimentary photos as well. They have a large beer menu as well, you should check it out. Its good for the family or a night out.

This is our new favorite place to eat in Corpus Christi. The food and service were both amazing. I highly recommend both the Clam Chowder - which rivals that from New England. Also the clam strips - a dish that's oddly difficult to find - were buttery and delicious. Our server was excellent. We were there on a Saturday evening and there was live music with a talented performer. The view is great! We will definitely be back the next time we are in town!

K

I came here after seeing the good reviews. The experience was amazing. Live music was great and at the perfect volume to enjoy while still being able to hear my server. Service was great and the waitress had all awesome recommendations for drinks and food. Will definitely visit again next time I go on vacation out there. I need to try it out during the sunsets Doc's is known for.

Oh my god is this a great place to eat or birthday dinners. The staff are so professional and have a great sense of humor. We had a lot in our party and everyone love their dinners. With a real island decor showing local surfers at their best. Nice deck overlooking the intercoastal waterways. Highly recommend this restaurant.

While camping at Padre Balli RV Park, I needed a break from my own cooking, so upon recommendation from other campers, we decided to try Doc's. So glad we did! I typically do not order fried food but made an exception with their fried shrimp and fries platter. It was yummy! My husband ordered the fried flounder (he's got a shell fish allergy) and declared it delicious, as well. As a bonus, we were seated close to the open air patio and got to watch the F18's (I think) do flybys multiple times. Just awesome! All in all, the food, service, and ambiance were great.

We are visiting the area and chose this spot for dinner! Great choice. The open atmosphere was fun with great live music, service great and good choice of food. Cynthia (waitress) was an angel and made extra effort to make sure we were well cared for, although she was very busy. We opted for the stuffed fish, which was delicious. Drinks were good too and all were fairly priced. Will definitely return!

M

We got there around 6ish pm on a Saturday night. It was about a 45 minute wait, so we had a couple of drinks at the bar. We were able to be seated by the ocean, which was nice. Our waitress, Bella, was great! I can be picky with my food and asked for real hot sauce, not Tabasco, or creole/cajun seasoning to add to my green beans. She came through for me! But to be honest, the food was just perfect without the added hot sauce. (I still added the heat though!) This is our second time coming to Doc's and the experience on both occasions were great. I had the yard bird, and dug in before I remembered to take a picture!

Large area for inside dining, with great views of the bay. Occasional live music. Food was fantastic! The yellow fin tuna tacos are AH-MAZ-ING! Great sunset pictures are in abundance here.

Great food and drinks. Food is very reasonably priced, and big portions! Drinks are a tad expensive but worth it. Everything tasted great and the drinks were so pretty looking. Resteraunt has a great view of the water, and our waittress was very sweet. Ignore the bite taken out of the picture, food was so good I couldn’t put it down long enough to take a good picture 🤣

We had a great dinner at Doc's. The server was knowledgeable about the food and gave us good recommendations. The red fish was perfect and the rice and asparagus were tasty. My husband had the burger salad. Sounds weird but he really liked it. The view of the sunset was great. Only disappointment was the music didn't start for several hours...on the website it said 6:30, not 8:30-9. The music was the reason we came. Good experience overall.

Food is delicious and the views are amazing. They have a very good local craft beer list, including seasonal specials (it's all canned but the quality is high and the styles are varied). The soft drink refills are free and they'll often give you one for the road. And today, for New Year's, they gifted us all with little cups of black eyed peas so I know it's gonna be a good year.

No wonder this restaurant is so highly rated. We started with shrimp queso and tortilla chips along with margaritas, and everything was delicious. Sitting outside by the water made the experience even better — such a relaxing, bayside vibe. For entrées, we ordered the bacon-wrapped shrimp and the crab-stuffed flounder. The seafood was incredibly fresh, exactly what you’d hope for at a restaurant right next to the bay. Since we had our fido with us, we sat downstairs near the bar and kids’ play area. Even though we ordered from the to-go menu, the staff kindly delivered everything right to us downstairs. Great food, great service, and a wonderful overall experience. If you’d like, I can also make this shorter, more casual, or Google/Yelp-style.

Fresh, local seafood what one should expect from a restaurant on the coast. The Mahi/Shrimp plate that was a lunch special on this day, it was prepared properly and hit the mark. The Bloody Mary was good as well. The server, Jazz, was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with making a selection. Doc's is located on the water, right of the JFK Causeway offering outdoor or open air seating inside on nice days so there is a nice view of the bay.

One of the best places to grab a bite to eat and enjoy oceen views in Corpus. Our server was a delight and took care of our every need. The fried flounder was perfection. Perfect crispy crust, flavorful fish, excellent fries and delicious hush puppies. The views, especially at sunset are absolutely stunning. You're missing out if you don't pay docs a visit.

This was my first trip to Texas and Corpus Christi, and I decided to take a solo trip. This place came highly recommended, and I can see why. Gabby was such a sweet waitress and very accommodating, even while handling a busy crowd. She truly deserves recognition and a raise. The sunset was absolutely gorgeous and made the whole experience worth it. The only negative observation I had was with the owner/manager (tall, slim white man). He was walking around asking tables how they liked their food and if they needed anything, but he walked right past me and only spoke to the tables in front of and behind me. It may have been unintentional, but it did feel strange and made me feel a little out of place for a moment. Overall, my visit was great, and I would probably return.

If you're looking for seafood that'll make you question why you ever settled for frozen fish sticks, this is the spot. I went all in with the Seafood Lover platter: 1 flounder fillet, 4 shrimp, and a crab cake fried so perfectly, Gordon Ramsay himself would have shed a single tear. The shrimp? Honestly, I'm convinced they trained for the Olympics before they ended up on my plate. Now, the margaritas. I started with Doc's Margarita and thought, "Hmm, this is kind of weak." Fast forward to the last sip, and suddenly I'm smiling at strangers like we've been best friends since kindergarten. The Skinny Margarita, though? Hands down the winner-light, refreshing, and sneaky in the best way. Add in some great live music, an atmosphere that says, "Yes, order dessert, you're on vacation," and a waitress who deserves her own fan club. We had such a blast that we broke the golden rule of vacations: never eat at the same place twice. Yep, we went back the very next day. 10/10 -highly recommend. Bring stretchy pants.

My family and I ate here for the first time and were not disappointed! The oyster tasted fresh, the clam chowda was delicious and the special of the day was amazing! The view can’t be beat. Our server, Sky, was super nice. We will make this a new family traditional stop when we’re in town.

Totally surprised how good the food was… I was expecting it to be very meh and it was very good. Horseradish sauce was on point. To add a little more information for future patrons, we ended up ordering 2.5 lbs of peeled shrimp, because they were exceptional. Everything else was equally amazing, as my photos show.

This was our favorite place by far on our visit to the area. Yes, the food was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was great!! But the service was beyond 5 stars. Our server, Lauren P. made our experience here exemplary! She was so attentive, friendly, and informative to all our questions. Made our visit more memorable and fun. We chose to go with the two different fish options that were caught that day. The cooks here clearly know what they're doing, as our food was delicious. They had a live singer performing near the front door in the bar area. Below the restaurant if you have a long wait (which is worth it!) Is another bar area you can enjoy and pass the time. If we ever get to come back to visit the area, this restaurant will be on top of our list.

Everything about Doc's is great! The views, the food, the service...there's nothing you won't like about this place. You can sit and watch boats travel the Intracoastal waterway while you sip on a great drink from the bar and enjoy some amazing food! Prepare yourself though, this place can get really busy in the evenings, but if you stop in for lunch, you'll have a better chance at getting a table quickly. This is one of my favorite places to visit in Corpus Christi.

Nice place to watch the sunset. Great service but the food was hit or miss. Raw oysters were the best thing that we had and the fried shrimp were pretty good, but the flounder was just fair, the crab cakes were poor, and the crawfish sauce was bad.

Features - 1. Awesome views 2. 3/5 Food 3. Ample parking 4. Good crowd management They have a in-house photographer who clicks photos and sells you 2 prints for $38 . For some it can be nice experience, for others not so much .

Lots of surf and turf options and the staff is very attentive and friendly. They had live music and the views are great. The remoulade sauce was delicious with the hush puppies. The bacon wrapped shrimp are very good and the bacon burger with cheese curds and jalapeños was interesting. We'd go back.

Tasty. The place was busy, with live music. Food was good, not off the charts but tasty. Bacon wrapped shrimp were flavorful and the dipping sauce was delicious. Hubs ordered a cheeseburger, which was huge, and the fries were super crisp and hot. I thought it was a little pricey for portion size on the shrimp. There is a huge selection of wine and beer as well as other cocktails. The view was amazing. We watched an incredible sunset!

A little pricey but worth the experience. We had our pre-christmas lunch here and it was my first time. The staff was welcoming, explaining everything in detail and the atmosphere was great! The food was fantastic and we'll definitely be back. I had the Parmesan Crusted Redfish with Laguna Shrimp Sauce, and for dessert the Fried Cheesecake, which is a Cheesecake wrapped in a cinnamon tortilla, fried and topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup.

Great location, very good food, awesome service! Cathy took very good care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. Very loud. Felt more like a bar atmosphere than a restaurant. Open air seating with nice views. Overall, it was a good experience.

Had the stuffed flounder & a daiquiri which were pretty good! Hubs had the shrimp po boy sandwich. However, always expect a reasonable wait time here. While the food was enjoyable, & even though we were able to find immediate bar seating, there were plenty of open tables to be sat to help mitigate people’s wait times & congestion @ the front of the restaurant, especially on a Saturday evening.

What a mixed visit this has been. The food was incredible. The service, not so much. Why is it that no where I've been in Texas offers top-notch service with their top-notch food. We ordered the crab stuffed flounder, grilled coconut shrimp, Bacon wrapped shrimp, shrimp queso, Cajun fries, and peel and eat shrimp. All of the food was incredible. The flounder had the blood line still in it, so that made the meal very fishy, but everything else about it was delicious. The service is where this review suffers. We were sat, and immediately asked for a drink order before any of us knew where the beverage menu was. The server then came back shortly and took our drink order. About 15 minutes later, he came back for the food order, which we placed appetizer orders and then lunch orders. The food came out quick but all at the same time. The server should have held the lunch portion so we could enjoy the apps. The food also came out not piping hot, As I'm writing this, the server also told us that the apps were free cause of the timing issues. So, the service improved by his acknowledgment without any mention other than our disappointment that they all came out at the same time. So, nice recovery. I will leave my review the way I was writing it for reference, but I definitely raised the stars. Also, the free photo was a welcomed addition, not to mention the smell of the ocean and the open air concept really snagged some extra praise. Please try them out. It's worth the visit.

We found a waiter, Kyle, that was able to have us a Crab Burger made for dinner - it was super! The Bloody Mary was great as well. They could 'tune-down' the guitar player.

This place is a tourist spot with plenty of seating in an open air restaurant. ( no ac) Live music, beautiful views, and friendly service. The food was good but it really was unremarkable at tourist pricing

A friend recommended we check Doc's out during our beach trip. We liked it so much! Raw Oysters were fresh and delicious. Steak and potatoes well seasoned. The atmosphere, people and view helped to kick off our vacation with good vibes. And to finish it wishing we lived closer to this place. With TVs throughout the bar, and a water station and spare bowls for your pets, we enjoyed the Sunday football game with our dog, and each other. Plenty of space. We are recommending this place and look forward to coming back!

The ladies in the front at the hostess desk were no short of AMAZING! a special thanks to them and the manager, Ellie! We are a family of 6 and reaaallllyyy wanted to sit where there was a spectacular view and they made that happen for us! We sat down at a different table and then asked to move and they allowed it. Thank you! The service was impeccable, the food was delicious the only reason I took a star away is because the 2 drinks I ordered, albeit tasty, were super weak. There was little to no alcohol in it and for $12 a pop, I was disappointed. Other than that, this place is amazing! We ordered the flounder, highly recommended that, the shrimp poor boy, the tuna salad was scrumptious and the kids shrimp plate was a hefty serving. We will be back! Just don’t order the mix drinks unless you like them without alcohol. They are very tasty! We will definitely be back!

Absolutely gorgeous place very friendly staff. Good food, but the absolute best part was the view and the open sea air. Pelicans, seagulls, and Crains hanging around makes Docs seem like something out of a movie. Also enjoyed the live music and clean bathrooms.

Had the Parmesan Crusted Red Fish. It was one of the Tuesday night specials. It was really good. The creamy shrimp sauce on top was called Laguna Sauce and it was delicious!! Beers were a little warm but otherwise a great place for dinner that's right on the water.

Enjoyed a festive dinner with a group of colleges and really enjoyed my visit. The apps were pretty tasty. For my self I ordered a sea food sampler with crab cakes and fish and shrimp and hushpuppies. The food was as good as expected and the views were nice bonus for sunset.

Had a great time at Docs while visiting the beach for the weekend. Food was solid, and loved the live music. We had to wait for a while to be seated. I was surprised because we where there at an awkward time, but I guess that's cause it's the place to go!

The restaurant location and layout is awesome. We got seated, and it took a while for a server to come take the drink order. Once we ordered, the drinks came quickly. The appetizer Texas southwestern egg rolls were great. The hush puppies were good, but they only had melted butter. We ordered salads with our meals, but the salads did not come when the meal came asked to cancel the salads, and she removed them from the ticket. The coconut shrimp is baked, not fried. My wife liked it a lot. I do not like seafood, so I got the country fried chicken with green beans and roasted potatoes, it was very good. I think the delay and a few other things like the salads make it not a win for me. Like sitting in the atmosphere and the scenery. The food was good. It is a must try but not a favorite.

I have been here twice and both times the food and service were awesome. I just wish they would have air conditioning during the hottest parts of the day. Idk if they even have air conditioning. But it is very warm, the restaurant is open to the outside. Both times i have cone were on Saturday evenings and there was a wait both times. More than 30 min. But not that big of a deal because downstairs they have a bar/hangout area with some yard games. They had live music saturday and the views are always good, right on the water.

Enjoyed dinner here. Love the location and the food was wonderful. I had the special Blackened Redfish Potatoes and Green Beans. The Hush Puppies were ok. Felt like they lacked flavor. I would definitely stop in again!

Food was delicious and fresh! Complimentary photos taken with options to purchase. Tiny dock where you can take photos and check out the beautiful scenery. Awesome place to enjoy drinks and enjoy the weather.

First we were placed at the perfect table with the best view of the water while still being shaded. Enjoyed the variety of the drink menu. Ordered the Cucumber Watermelon Lemonade and the Jalapeño Dosarita, Starters were great - Raw Oysters & Watermelon Tuna. However when it came to the entrees, the Docs Yardbird sounded great in theory but was a bit too heavy handed on the blackening seasoning (still enjoyable) and would try it again, but it was not as awesome as the Lemon Caper Tuna (fantastic in flavor and cook - rare to med rare) and the green beans were cooked well with a lemon pepper seasoning. We will be back for sure! 😍

Long wait but expected if you show up to doc's in late afternoon with 4 or more. Service was friendly and helpful atmosphere was very bright and open and had a great view. Food was good a little over cooked but to to the point where I was disappointed overall a good experience.

Great restaurant, food and service were friendly and fast. it’s a very busy place and the 45 min wait went by fairly fast with a few drinks from the bar. I only recommend them adding some ceiling fans or something to help with ventilation on hot humid days. It’s on a dock so it’s all basically outside which is ok but the floor fans weren’t as helpful on this particular. Look forward to visiting again and highly recommend

Was pretty disappointed. The food did not add up to the price. The stuffed shrimp let me down. The drinks seemed like I was at a bar on 6th street, less quality and not tasty. For the price I wish the food and drinks would have been more. But the place and the views are great. I would suggest come during a sunset. The waitress, her friendliness and the hush puppies was my favorite part!

One of the filthiest places I’ve ever stepped into. The tables were not clean nor the seating and underneath were napkins, used and tons of food scraps. I immediately called over the server as the oblivious welcome staff were ready to lay the menus in the dirty table. An attentive server named Shay who for some odd reason spelled her name out (um, did we ask for that?) cleaned up the mess. We ordered the fried clam strips. Yummy juicy and with plenty of fresh lemons. We also got the crab cake but I don’t realize and it wasn’t mentioned in the menu that it was deep fried!!! I’m used to Maryland crab cakes —never ever fried, but again this is Texas… they were still good but a total fried dinner is heavy on the gut.

I visited this restaurant for my birthday lunch. The view is lovely, but the food did not meet my expectations. The chicken-fried steak tasted like a microwaved version of the dish and came in a small portion. The appetizers—crawfish, French fries, and South Texas egg rolls—were noticeably better than the entrées, with solid flavor and generous portions. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. Our server did not return to check on drinks, rarely came back after dropping off the entrées, and handed us the bill while we were still eating, which felt rushed and dismissive. I would return only for the crawfish fries and the photo opportunities by the water. The restaurant is disability-friendly to a degree, but the tightly spaced tables make navigating with a wheelchair difficult when exiting.

Stopped in for an early dinner. Had the ribeye steak, was not a good cut of meat for $40. The wife had the stuffed flounder and she enjoyed it $30, I was not a fan. There is really loud music playing through speakers in the ceiling, not a very relaxing vibe. The service was subpar. The food came out quickly and was warm but we always seem to be waiting for the waitress. Took a very long time to get our check and there were only two other tables at the time. Watching the barges go by was fun. If you're looking for a bar with fried food, this would probably be a good pick.

I will start with the positive. The food was great! The music was really good as well. Local plays every Wednesday! Be prepared to wait. It took us about 3 hours to eat. The service was very slow and when the sun shades were pulled down the inside was really hot as it's all open air. Did enjoy the food but a lot left to be desired with the service and how long it took for food and drinks. Not sure I would go back.

First time diners, The Server we had wish we could remember his name it has been a few days since we ate there but would have given him a shout out, he was amazing and the service was 10 🌟 star all around, as for the food cooked well but very dry, the shrimp was our favorite but the rest not so much was hoping for a better seafood experience as it being our first date night in Texas coming from another country from Alberta Canada, but maybe we will come back one day for a different not so deep fried meal. But again service was legit the best 👌 will repost once we meet him again one day.

I've been to Doc's before so was excited to take my husband. We knew we had to sit downstairs because we had our small dog with us. When we arrived, we were instructed to call the number and they would bring our food downstairs. When it arrived, it was bagged up like a to go order. We ordered the crab stuffed flounder with cream sauce on the side. We opened the to go box and there was cream sauce over everything. I asked for some plates and the person delivering said we could not have "real" plates downstairs. He did manage to get us some paper plates which we were thankful for. The food was somewhat hot so I guess that is a plus. But I never saw any of the crab that it was supposed to be stuffed with. This was a disappointing experience. I say all this to warn those downstairs don't expect table service you get upstairs. The atmosphere was lovely except we couldn't enjoy the live music that was upstairs. We saw dolphins and fun to watch the pelicans.

Our visit to Doc’s Seafood and Steaks was a decent overall experience, but it had a mix of positives and drawbacks. We waited about an hour and 15 minutes to be seated, which was expected for the busy evening, but worth noting if you’re visiting during peak times. The menu is heavily seafood-focused, with many dishes prepared blackened or jerk-style, so there’s a fair amount of spice. If you’re not into seafood or bold flavors, your options are somewhat limited. The setting is one of the highlights — you can sit near the edge and enjoy a nice view of the water, which adds to the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the chairs were hard and lacked any lumbar support, making them uncomfortable for a long meal. Our server was friendly and attentive, which helped balance out some of the food concerns. The burgers we tried were very charred and didn’t have much seasoning; the sauces provided most of the flavor, so without them, they would have been pretty bland. The lower-level area offers games like cornhole and the ring-and-hook game, along with some live music, which creates a casual, fun vibe. However, it also had an unpleasant smell of spilled beer and even urine, which was off-putting and made us question the cleanliness in that area. In short, seafood lovers who enjoy a lively, waterfront atmosphere will probably appreciate this place more than we did. For non-seafood eaters, the limited menu and mixed food quality may not make it worth the wait.

My overall experience was just okay - nothing exceptional, but nothing terrible either. The oysters were the highlight, very fresh and delicious! The Texas egg rolls were also quite flavorful. The clam chowder was ok after adding salt, pepper and hot sauce. However, my husband's crab cakes were disappointing - they lacked flavor and needed lemon, hot sauce, and tartar sauce to be enjoyable. My stuffed flounder and the coleslaw it came with were both bland. We also tried the chocolate chess cake, which was extremely dry. We probably should have gone with the Key lime pie instead. Our server, Kyle, was very nice and attentive, and the drinks were delicious. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if we'll return if we're back in the area. Corpus Christi as a whole hasn't impressed us much. It feels a bit run down and lacks atmosphere.

Talk about an oceanic Atmosphere! The smooth breeze and glowing sunsets are just to die for. The food was so delicious and the servers were friendly and speedy. While I was waiting for food, I was soothed with jamming live music with classic sing along tunes that just make you feel good. Unfortunately, the restaurant manager seemed a bit impatient but definitely still had a smile and happy attitude overall but it felt absolutely disgenuine. I've never felt more uncomfortable at a restaurant, and as a former restaurant Manager I hope that they can try to be more genuine to their customers. The waiter was also pretty rude to my family.

Wanted to see the sunset and have great sea food. The food was okay. They had a photographer offering to take pictures (for marketing i assume). Kindly declined and finished our meal. The oysters which was the main reason for us stopping were okay. The main staircase was under construction so we had to walk the large handicap ramp. Recommend pushing a family member if you need to use it. Also a bar is located downstairs. We got smoke from a smoker on the lower level while we ate upstairs.

Tonight was, unfortunately, the worst experience I’ve ever had at this restaurant — which is disappointing because it’s usually our go-to spot for date nights. I placed a to-go order for my wife and me, and when we picked it up, everything was cold — not slightly warm, not freshly cooked — but genuinely cold, as if it had been sitting for quite some time. The fish tacos (blackened tuna, cooked medium rare) were overcooked and cold. The clam strips were cold and mushy. The bacon-wrapped shrimp looked nicely grilled but were also cold. Even the rice and green beans were cold. The egg rolls were the only saving grace because they don’t taste half bad…when they are COLD! What’s especially confusing is that we were told it would be about five more minutes to “finish” cooking the food, so I can’t understand how everything came out this far off. I understand that busy nights happen, but this felt like a serious lapse in quality control. I’ve included a photo of one of the fish tacos. The tuna was grey, overcooked, and had an overpowering fishy taste that drowned out any other flavor on the plate. I don’t typically write negative reviews, but this experience really caught me off guard. I hope this was just an off night and that improvements are made moving forward. Edit: I forgot to add, they didn’t even give us sauce for anything none for the clams, nothing for the shrimp, nada for the egg rolls. They could have drowned the tacos in sauce but it wouldn’t have made a lick of difference.
