Opinions de Eirinis Gyros & More Corpus Christi
I had an excellent traditional lamb gyro. Also had the fried pickles, everything was excellent. Skip the burgers and come get some of this Mediterranean food made by a real person 👌
Best gyros in town! I've tried pretty much all Mediterranean restaurants in town and this is by far the best! Great, friendly staff. Cozy restaurant. Good daily specials. Try to Baklava cheesecake (amazing!). Other things to try: Disco and pizza fries Eirini's ribeye sandwich Great place!
I received a traditional gyro meal with onion rings and bottled water for just under $20. It was a bit steep BUT well worth it! Their food is truly made with love. I used the drive thru and it wasn't a long wait at all. Wonderful food and wonderful service. I will definitely visit again 🙏🏼
One of the best gyros I’ve had! Great spot!
We have been to Greece before and this is one of the most authentic places we have found. The food is delicious and a great value for the price! This small quaint restaurant is a prefect spot for a lunch or dinner stop. The service was fast too!
Best Greek food! And the new play area is perfect for toddlers :)
The gyro is amazing. We go multiple times a month. Greek salad, spinach pie, and dont forget the baklava cheesecake! You go here for the authentic food.
Best Gyro I've ever had! I have tried other places in town that have served Gyros, but none like this! Highly recommend you try this place out if you like Greek/Mediterranean food. I knew it was going to be amazing when I saw some Greek language show being played on the TV and the staff speaking Greek in the back!
this place has delicious gyros, best I ever had, tasty crinkle fries. and super moist delicious pineapple cake. and they will do the whole cake with 2 days advance, got one for mother's day. 5 star, love this place.
Owners and staff are great! Food is fantastic. The building itself is not very large. I believe the largest party you can have is 8 to 10 unless you have others seat in booths. We just took our friends there for the 1st time and they enjoyed it just as much.
Food 10 out of 10 even the pita bread was homeade! Lemonade 10 out of 10 Baklava 10 out of 10 Service 10 out of 10 The restroom is outside alongside the building instead of inside the dining area. Guy working was so nice. Cute dining area, very greekish. I would go back if in town. It was delicious!
Got several take out orders at 8:30 pm! Multiple dinners and desserts... Such phenomenal service. Along with the INCREDIBLE food at such a fast pace! Truly phenomenal!!! From the PNW but will DEFINITELY be back!
Absolutely Incredibly Delicious!! Their Baklava CheeseCake is A-mazing!!
This was my first visit, where I tried the Traditional Lamb Gyro. It was awesome. This is the only place to get an authentic Greek gyro in Corpus Christi outside of the awesome annual Greek festival in November. The Gyro was huge and the meat authentic, tasty, & well seasoned. The pita was fluffy & tasty. The tzatziki sauce is homemade with lots of dill & other spices. They offer other traditional Greek favorites on their regular menu, like spanikopita, dolmades, & baklava - and during the week they offer different traditional Greek entrees like mousaka and pasticio as specials Monday-Saturday. They also offer some American favorites and some creative Greek-American & Greek-Mex fusion dishes on their regular menu. Lastly, the service was awesome. The waitress was very nice & totally responsive. We'll be back.
I had the chicken souvlaki and it was incredible. The dipping sauce for the fries was also amazing. The service was top notch and the atmosphere was very comfortable.
Update: They moved locations and its great. There is even a place for the kids to play outside. Older place. Great food. Prices went up but not a ridiculous amount.
Fresh! Fresh, fresh, fresh, fresh, fresh! And the portions are massive! The onion rings aren't overly salted or gritty, just well-battered and simply-fried. The Greek Burger was excellently-balanced between the patty, bread, feta, and amount of cooked spinach atop. The lamb gyro works well for veggie lovers, but will need sauce if you scrape those off (which was effortless to do, picky eaters rejoice!). And the Baklava was a fork-and-knife-sized piece that was about 75% filling and 25% fillo dough. I would be fine with more fillo dough compared to filling, but that's personal preference -- if it ain't broke, don't fix it! The folks that work here are putting their heart and soul into the food and the portions, making sure the customers are taken care of! Absolutely recommend! (Oh, and bring cash -- I think they're having issues with the phone lines or card machine, at the moment. There's also a drive-thru, so it's well worth the effort!)
Update: Erinis has moved across the street! The new location is much bigger, but the rest is the same. :-) Opa! We had a wonderful visit at Eirinis, experiencing warm and friendly service and delicious food. This is a great little local Greek spot and if you enjoy Greek food you shouldn't miss it.
Honestly one of the best food places in town if I could say so myself gyros is very good. Reminds me of my vacation in Greece
Absolutely delicious! I keep getting the traditional lamb gyro and it is fantastic every time. The hummus and pita were amazing as well. This place is on my list of favorite restaurants in Corpus.
We went there to dine in and it was one of the best Greek food experiences we have had in Texas as a whole! We absolutely loved the lamb Gyro. The service was friendly and nice. We can’t say enough good things about the place! The lemonade had that special zing that brought you back to childhood memories.
This is the best fast food I've eaten anywhere on Earth in my life. The gyro was delicious. Fresh, fluffy pita. Juicy meat. Excellent. I ate a second sandwich out of pure gluttony. One day I will drive from Philadelphia back to Corpus Christi just to eat at Eirinis.
OMG wow! My friend took me here the other day and I'm glad he did because this place was amazing! And it has a drive thru. Everyone is so nice and the food is beyond tasty! Highly recommend this place! I'll post more pics next time but the food smelled so good I didn't take time to take pics. Here is one perfect dolma !
Just as great as the original location staff was very friendly and stayed true to the atmosphere of the first location the lamb gyro still taste the same will be coming back
Anyone like myself, a transplant from New England, who has been yearning for a taste of spinach pie, please try Eirinis. Fabulous selection of delicious Green entrees and desserts. Great atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff. And the prices are very, very reasonable. Full bar for those who want a drink. Only shortcoming is available parking. But you can park next door or nearby and walk. It's worth it.
I can't say enough about the food and the service at this mom and pop restaurant! I am a burger eater and was initially considering a Greek burger. The young lady at the window made recommendations for me to try something different and even let me sample the lamb. It was seasoned well, and the gyro I ordered was huge! I also ordered a fish sandwich that was absolutely delicious! Fish was crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. A touch lemon and dash of hot sauce would have made it magnificent! I highly recommend and will be returning when in the city!
One of the best Place I've tried so far. It's a little restaurant not too far from Palmera. Delicious authentic Greek food with some American and international options. Everything was so good, you have for sure to try the classic Gyro and the classic dessert (Buklava). Also the Italian pita and the spiced feta were delicious. The service was very friendly, I will definitely come back.
I love stopping by the drive thru when I remember to. It is always great and worth the wait. There are many dishes I have checked out that I love, but some are too much for my daughter, she loves the pita pizza, but today we got the baked flounder plate. We both loved all of it sooooo much we just can't stop talking about it. Perfect comfort food, excellent flavors. And, I usually love their stuff, this was just extra extra. And, made the 5 yr old get a great dish to fall for more flavors. She likes trying lots of stuff (she eats hummus but they use a lot more olive than she can take right now), but this was so perfect! Thank you!!
By far the best gyro I have ever had. Been there several times. Never been disappointed. They are consistent. The quality and quantity are perfect. Everything is fresh. They also have unbelievable fries! Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Perfectly seasoned and served fresh and hot! There are also daily specials. Prices are very reasonable.
Went to try some Greek food, or at least some hummus and pita bread. The hummus was great tasting with finely diced Kalamata olives and different seasonings. I think I saw some specks red crushed peppers, but not sure. It was not hot just very flavorful. The pita bread? I loved it! Fresh, it had some thickness to it to hold and scoop out the hummus. I also ordered a sandwich, Greekixcan. Fresh pita bread filled with large cubed chicken breast, strips of bacon topped with a generous amount of great tasting guacamole, citrus, good amount or combination of tomatoes and onions. On June 24, went again to try a different sandwich. We had Greek Philly (full of strips of beef, sauté veggies and a creamy & melting white cheese)and chicken souvlaki (plenty of lettuce, big slices of tomatoes, and moist pieces of chicken) sandwiches. I also ordered pita bread, fried pickles ( usual fried pickle chips, a little greasy but the Ranch dipping sauce is homemade, thick and garlicky) and baklava (packed with pecans or walnuts, buttery, a hint of cinnamon and honey; worth breaking any diet)! They have now been charging $0.50 per box.
I had the classic lamb gyro and rice pilaf; my sister had the Saturday special: Spinach Feta Pie with a Greek salad. We finished up sharing a piece of baklava. Everything was delicious! Definitely remembering this place on my next return to Corpus Christi. They had Greek music playing: I LOVE when ethnic food restaurants play music that goes with meal!
I have no doubt giving this place 5 stars. I am a news journalist and when I see the words “best in town” or “voted best by locals”, I am very skeptical because usually they are not. Eirinis is frankly one of those places that lives up to the reputation. You can not argue with the quality or prices of this food—you can’t. It is fast, friendly, simple and hands down the best anywhere. Do yourself a favor and drop in.
Its not often you find an authentic meal in this world of fast food, but this one hits all the right buttons. The chicken was tender and the sauce savory. The highlight of the sandwich was the pita - so good! $8 gets you this amazing meal and leaves you with a smile hours later. I talked with the owner - she makes everything fresh that day!
This was our first visit here & we enjoyed it! We dined in on a Friday night and each had the steak and chicken avocado salads. They were so good. We also ordered the baklava cheesecake and it had just the right flavor, not too rich, just perfect. We will definitely be back to try other menu items!
Love this place, and loved the old location as well. Amazing food, the rice pilaf is so soft and great tasting along with the lamb gyro, the new bar looks great ! Angelo is the best, was a pleasure meeting him ! This is a spot I always come back to, and I enjoy it every single time. My grandma loved it here her first time! See y’all soon!
Don’t let the outside fool you — this hidden gem is the real deal! This is a family-run spot serving truly amazing, 100% authentic food. I came here on a Wednesday at 12:45 pm, and the place was buzzing — the parking lot was full, and every seat inside was taken. That’s how you know it’s good. I had to order my lunch to go because I’m traveling for work, but if I could’ve stayed, I would have. A must-visit for anyone who loves genuine flavor and warm, local charm.
It’s very important these days to show the local love to our small businesses. This one has been around for a long time. I had a gyro, fries and a drink. The price was good. The food was plenty. The owner was kind and helpful. I truly recommend the food and service. Stop by and if you finish your food or need something to take home try those yummy desserts.
First time visit today and will be back ! Initially I wasn’t expecting much from the appearance of the place but man never judge a book by its cover is so true in this case. 5 star food worthy of a much better venue. This restaurant would Thrive in Plano, Richardson, Dallas and suburbs. Fabulous dressing on beautiful huge Greek salads. Gyros were amazing with fresh pitas the likes I’ve never had before. Highly recommend and would love to see this restaurant expand to North Texas. Do yourself a huge favor and visit when in Corpus Christi - it will be your next favorite restaurant.
Had an awesome experience eating here. The atmosphere is just right, loud Greek music blasting on the outside speakers, beckoning you to come in. The menu is extensive with interesting things like fried flounder and fried carrots. However I got the gyro wrap meal which ended up being one of the best gyro wraps I've ever had. Also got lemonade which also was good because it tastes house made. The baklava was also rlly good, super sweet but wow the layers. Yum. All that for less than $18.
We were driving down Alameda Drive, looking for a good place to eat during our visit when my wife yells out Gyros! Lol! I swerved in the parking lot so quick because we both have not had a good Gyro since we last visited Chicago. Me and my wife both had the Gyro Meals and our little one had the Chicken Fingers Meal, everything was very delicious, well portioned and well made! The young lady who took our order was very polite and answered all my many questions. For now on when we visit Corpus Christi, we will dine in again for some delicious and well portioned Gyros. They have good food and good service! We live in Universal City, Texas and this will now be our stop every time we visit Corpus Christi. This is certainly a spot everyone has to try for themselves.
Fresh and delicious! My mom was pleased. The baklava kind of messed up on transit but looks ok. Haven’t tried it yet. Personally I’ll ask for no extra sauce bc traditionally it doesn’t swim in sauce and it’s usually too sweet for me with extra sugar and doesn’t need it but that’s personal preference. It’s incredibly hard to find a crunchy baklava anywhere in Texas. This was no exception, it wasn’t crunchy which is also disappointing but I’ve lived in Europe for over a decade so my palate is very Mediterranean refined.
The staff was amazing, kind and patient during the ordering process. The food was fresh and tender. It has been a few years since I had a Gyro but this was delicious. I recommend you try the traditional lamb Gyro. I look forward to trying other dishes on their menu.
It’s been several months since we’ve been here because their service and quality of food had gone down. But we went to lunch today and I am happy to report that they have got it turned back around and are the restaurant that we grew to love and visit on a regular basis. Today I got the chicken Organo, which was the special. It was a half chicken baked with olive oil, spices, and oregano and it came with some roasted potatoes. Chicken was done well, and it was extremely tasty, and the potatoes were delicious. It also came with some pieces of French bread, which I used to soak up as much of that delicious juice as I could. I’m happy to say that, we are putting these guys back on our regular list to visit and we are happy they got things turned back around.
Made a quick stop in C.C. and wanted something else that wasn't seafood and found the place. It was quiet when we went and quick. Delicious, large portions. We didn't finish our food because of how full we got. It was a little tricky finding but I also liked that across the street there was a strip with antique stores.
Pay more attention to the drive thru orders. Food was good but the sides were all wrong. Asked for extra ketchup and only got two cups of ketchup for three orders. Is inflation that bad you can't give out extra ketchup? All in all okay nothing special or go crazy about.
The Greek fries were a little stale. The Gyro was delicious and the flounder salad was awesome..
Gyros sandwich was delicious. Eggplant parm was fine. Very little Greek food on the menu. Strong Italian influence.
This being my first visit and a big fan Mediterranean inspired foods. I wasn't greeted at the entrance nor did I find a sign to seat yourself. I took a spot at the bar And notice the bar area had no servers. It took about 8 to 9 minutes before someone came to me. And in that time I was looking around the bar just to get familiar with the tv's s above , and see if they offer Draft beer. I saw the draft beer connections but did not find any particular handles of a brands, So I really can't say if they do or do not serve draft beer. Also notice wine and Margarita glasses hanging above the bar that were filthy and showed hand marks and lipstick stains on the glasses. I ordered the traditional lamb gyro meal. And received it in a timely manner.... The meal was good. The lamb was dry. It was overall a okay meal. My Waitress Ivy did a great job when contact was made, Minus forgetting my silverware and napkin , I chose to get up to the next table behind me and grab a set for myself. What I see is a restaurant that has a lot of potential but need a lot of work, wish all the best and I hope that you can Exceed your standards in cleansiness and food and door greeting
Dropped by the new location on Thursday and put in a To Go order of the souvlaki combo platter. Was told it would be about 10 minutes. It was closer to 30. Not a big deal, I wasn’t in a hurry, just hungry. I should have checked the order because when I got home, there was only some rice pilaf with 3 skewers of meats on top and a small bundle of pita. No salad, no tzitziki sauce which I asked for by name. For $30+ on a lunch, I sure expect more. And sadly, all the meats were quite over cooked. I have gotten this platter before and there was enough rice to have 3 meals for me. Barely was able to make 2 meals from what I got. Huge disappointment all around. Probably won’t bother going back for kebabs. Might try the pastiscio lunch special on Tuesdays, but you bet I’ll be checking the order before I leave! And I’ll phone my order in ahead!!
Today was a COMPLETE DISSAPPOINTMENT. I ordered chicken salad stuffed tomato ( which has been on the menu for years , but the owner was not making it). Our server said yes, we have it now , I was so excited , I thought the son had turned the place around, she came out a minute later , sorry we no longer serve it!! They should at least go thru all menu's and put tape over the item. So I ordered the Gyro meal with onion rings, not french fries. My husband had ordered the same thing, but with French fries. Meals came out, and my onion rings were piping hot . My gyro was not. I had asked for just meat and bread , and I like to put my own tazaki because when I have leftovers, it can be put in the microwave. It was on it, and it tasted off? Bitter? Did take it for my husband's leftovers for breakfast ,he will eat it. Both of our gyro 's were warm at best , I am used to not being able to eat it right away because meat and bread are so hot. His French fries were barely warm and not the double fries we had been served since they opened. We were told last visit that it was a supply issue , but not that it was a permanent change. We we were asked at the end of the meal how everything was , we said terriable and said everything I just said. THE SERVER had a defense to everything we told her , yes, that was the fries they used now , not even a sorry for cold food , she did not seem to care we have been coming to this location since it opened and the Cozy Corner before that and the one on Yorktown before he closed down. She said , "Well, glad you came today..... really??? I know the owner was there because we spoke with him , he either did not know we had complained or he is already ready to let his son take over. I am very sad as we have eaten food with these families' restaurants for years , no more ! Even though our last meal here was up to the old high standards, I can't go or recommend a place so inconsistent. Don't let today's pictures fool you it looked good, but only the onion rings were good, and the only thing that was hot.
After having waited another day (because the restaurant doesn't offer pastitsio on a daily basis...or so I was told)... The dish I received did not look, taste like, nor have the basic ingredients of Pastitsio! There was no pasta, the base of this dish was overly seasoned potatoes! There was barely the T h I n n es t layer of beshamel sauce and it all tasted DAYS old! Matter of fact, My entire order looked like each menu item has been scraped out of an old pan And literally dumped into the containers! The baklava was pitiful! The ingredients had dumped out of the filo dough and sat, completely solid OVER the tough layer of filo. I am displeased in the extreme! I will just have to wait until October for the Greek festival. To get good good, delicious quality pastitsio. I will never order from this "establishment" again! * There is no disrespect nor shade on the hard working people. Thank you for all you do and giving it your best.
I normally don’t like to leave negative reviews of small businesses but this was an especially bad experience. I’ll preface this with saying that I grew up with a Greek grandfather who was an excellent cook and I’ve had all these dishes many times before. The ambiance is fairly good, with good music and a classic American style Greek aesthetic. However, the food was a different story. The spanakopita was seasoned oddly and very greasy, but homemade. However, the gyro was clearly not homemade and was limp and tasteless, covered up by a mountain of lettuce and tzatziki. The souvlaki wasn’t marinated, and shared a lot of the problems of the gyro. And to top it off, they didn’t have any milkshakes, tiropita (blasphemous for a Greek place) or baklava cheesecake (we were really looking forward to it). My favorite thing there was the toasted pita, which even an amateur like myself could make. Hopefully, our experience was the exception, but I cannot recommend a visit to Eirinis.
Truly disappointing. This place is very misleading as it primarily serves bar food, not Greek food. The greek food is a separate menu. There were four occupied tables on our visit, so it was not busy. We announced to the waitress we were eating outside. After 15 minutes of being ignored, we came back inside, telling the same waitress we were now eating inside. It took another 15 minutes before we were handed our menus. We were there over an hour before food arrived. Our drinks were served from cans and all they had was Dr. Pepper. The gyros were very disappointing, even lacking feta cheese! I wish we had bailed after the first red flag but wanted to stick it out due to the highly rated food. Maybe we caught them on a bad day or maybe the reviews are all from robots. Either way, it's not worth your time. Go find a real Greek restaurant somewhere else in town.
