Opinions de Smitty's BBQ Crockett
Came in with my husband for lunch on a whim. He got the BBQ Nachos and I got the BBQ Frito Pie. Absolutely delicious. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful and the spicy sauce was absolutely fantastic. The young man working during our visit was very friendly and provided excellent service. We'll definitely be back!
Smitty's is great! Food, service, atmosphere all excellent. Everytime I go in there the staff is friendly and accommodating. My orders are usually pretty simple, but they always have great family packs where brisket (chopped or sliced), pork, sausage, ribs and even fish are available by the pound. I love to eat those dinners, but also cool...loaded potatoes, brisket nachos, wings, and a lot more might be better for lunch. Whatever way you go, you won't be disappointed. The place is a stand alone restaurant that's kind of old timey...pretty cool too. The owner is in there a lot which shows he cares, so you can chat it up with him about the grub or whatever ya want. Anyways, enjoy. Go Sandies...lol Oh, and get some extra sauce. Best around.
On my way to my new home, I decided to spend the night in the Crockett area. At the hotel, the clerk recommended Smittys and 'oh boy' it didn't disappoint. I ordered the 1/2 bbq tater and a side of baked beans. I am currently in a food coma. 🫠
I ordered a bbw potato and oh my goodness it was the BEST bbq potato I've had so many flavors and its made right infront of you and huge! My husband got a bbq frito pie it was amazing and thr flavors were spot on and worth it and the staff was so nice and we really enjoyed visiting them today abd we will be back for sure ! We highly recommend checking them out and giving them a try!
Enjoyed a great lunch here! Fast friendly service! Inside is clean and kept up. I had fried catfish which was very tasty and my wife had a BBQ sandwich with chopped brisket that she enjoyed. The only thing I didn’t like was the coleslaw, but I know that’s a matter of personal choice. I recommend this place for a great meal.
Old fashioned, friendly, simple and delicious. Catfish and pork yum. Great fried pickles.

Small town Bbq was just what we wanted on our drive and this was it! Good food, friendly service and we met the owner who knew our relatives. Small town, small world! Brisket and jalapeño sausage were yum!
My daughter and husband love the catfish. We've frequented this restaurant for years since it was on Loop 304. It's so good that I drove from Houston to Crockett for a catering order for my grandmother's birthday party for 250 people. They all loved the brisket.
Absolutely appreciate the young lady who ran the front and prepared our food. She was fast, efficient, and very personable! The food and presentation was on point. Prices were exactly what you would expect for BBQ. The tea was delish 🤤 and I'm picky about my tea. Would definitely visit again if we came back through.
Stopped by while traveling through town. The rustic atmosphere gave a feeling of being home on the countryside. I definitely enjoyed the options of either mild or spicy for barbecue sauce. My daughter likes barbecue but often can't enjoy the restaurant sauces that only come in spicy. The brisket was very tasty and my daughter enjoyed the pork.
If you're passing through town I highly recommend Smitty's. We stopped by for a lunch while passing through town and it did not disappoint. The food is delicious and the meats are tender and full of flavor. We got to meet the owner and his daughter while there and they're very welcoming, kind and lovely people!! Its an all around great place with family friendly small town feel.
The food was great, the staff was attentive and helpful we tried the BBQ nachos and BBQ Fritos pie both were amazing
We came by and picked up a pound of brisket. Flavor was great and it was moist. We will definitely be back in to have lunch or dinner. We recommend you stop by before they have to raise the prices of their meats like everyone else.

Good little mom and pop style barbecue place. The meat was tender and not to tough. They had spicy and regular sauce. The jalapeno cheddar sausage was outstanding. The employees were nice and helpful.
Really good food, owners and staff are especially nice. Bikers get a discount, looking forward to coming back.

Just a down home BBQ spot. Not into frills or 'fru fru'. I love their chopped sandwich and they are good and filling. You definitely get your money's worth!

My rating is a C- for total value to dollar spent! The staff and owner were great, very friendly and really made you feel welcome. The restaurant is old but has a local charm that makes you comfortable once inside. The menu has a lot of items to choose from however (as you can see on my plate) the portions are rather small for a platter. I ordered the Rib platter $14.99 with Two sides. The ribs didn’t have much flavor and seemed like they had been reheated a couple times and the sides were small. Two teaspoons of baked beans was just not acceptable. They say everything is bigger in Texas just not on your plate at Smittys Bar-B-Q.

Everything seems clean and the staff was very friendly. However, the food was subpar. Their ribs were tough. I feel like the brisket had been sitting for a while. The green beans did not have a very good flavor. I love barbecue. But this is not a place I would probably visit again. I would love to if they would revamp how they’re cooking. I wouldn’t have even posted a review but all the reviews were like 4 1/2 stars. I went there because of the reviews and I’m here to tell you that it is not 4 1/2 stars. Out of the $20 I spent on my mail I took maybe five bites.

We were looking for a good BBQ restaurant, since we have one in Lockhart, Tx boy were we wrong. The brisket, okra and chopped bbq sandwich was very good. Potatoe salad was sweet taste like store bought, everything taste like it came from a can like baked beans and regular beans were very spicy. I had never seen red pink sausage except pickled. Didn't taste like sausage taste like a hot dog.
I got the 2 meat with ribs and jalapeños cheddar sausage. And unfortunately for them I know how to smoke top notch bbq. This is not bbq. Pork ribs... no smoke flavor... chewy and watery... the sausage looked and tasted like it had been boiled. It was pale and tasteless. There is a reason I picked these 2 proteins as they are the easiest to fix and make taste great with minimal effort. If you fail at ribs and sausage... not good. Plus it was not hot ... it was warm at best. I ate it but am on food positioning alert... overall ... terrible. They have gimmicks like brisket nachos or brisket frito pie... but those r just masking the no smoke flavor. Sorry I will not be back. Watered down boiled BBQ is not very tasty. Not to mention the baked beans are straight out the can bush beans... nothing original. I know this review is brutal but maybe it will inspire yall to care again... bc right now yall.dont care ur just going through the motions. Which really hurts someone like me on a budget... I cant splurge often... and when I do I want it to be good. Thanks but no thanks.

Bought a pound of sliced brisket. Half of the order was the dry ends of the brisket. Very tough and very dry. Instead of trimming it after cooking it. Every other place i've gone to trims off the ends and uses them for their chopped beef. Half of it was delicious, juicy cooked, perfect. But I spent $25 for a pound, not 1/2 a pound. Brett I lowered the rating to one star. Because I have left 2 messages for Brett to get him to follow through on his offer to me. I never gotta call back.
