I never knew I needed this kind of food in my life. The flavors here are awesome. It's American crosses with japanese and left me searching for how to make these delicious taste at my own house. They have numerous different kind of sauces all of them are unique and tasty in their own way. For dessert had a chocolate avocado shake. I had no clue those flavors worked together but it was fantastic. I got to enjoy all this while drinking a beer and watching Thursday night football! Chef Carlos is the man!
Solid Japanese Fusion Burgers Ordered the Jack’D (employees favorite) & Kare Burger (curry gravy with egg). Each burger cost $18 and side of tater tots $5. Draft beer $8 and Wine $8. Overall a decent burger joint with good service. They have many options to try. They have draft beer and two tvs with sports on. They also have a back outdoor patio. I enjoyed my tots better than my burger. They were fried to perfection. I Would give it another try if I was in the neighborhood.
6 stars! The food, the service. The vibe is subjective. It gives New York or Chicago vibes in ways and (modern retro) 80s kid music vibes. May have just been "the day". Do not sleep on this! Everything we ordered was crisp, delicious, slightly peppery and ... Couldn't have been better. Go there. Give it all the stars. You're welcome.
One of the best hamburgers in West side! It’s Japanese and American fusion and they have very unique hamburgers! You will enjoy it for sure! Highly recommended:) I also like their art and murals interior at the restaurant!
I ordered for pickup and it was ready when I got there and let me tell you, it was one of the best burgers I've had. Deeply satisfying. There was an obvious attention to detail when it came to the burger. Every single part. The bun was toasted similar to how someone would toast a grilled cheese. Everything was perfect. I ordered the battle royal and it was so good I'm actually a little worried to order it again out of fear it might disappoint me. The garlic parm fries were also delicious and under normal circumstances they would stand out as a champion of the meal. However in this case they were just an amazing background to the main Performance.
I can't say much about this place but that it seems to always deliver the goods. I've yet to be disappointed. I've had several items from their menu and while pleased by all of them, their Curry Burger has to be my favorite. Tots are a must if your feeling extra hungry.
My favorite burger spot in LA... and they make a mean banh mi 5/5 Kare Fries - always a hit 5/5 Kara-age - perfectly fried chicken 5/5 Battle Royale Burger - the ultimate burger 5/5 Banh Mi The patio in the back is alright both times I find in, there were wafts of trash smell
Happy Hour 3-7pm! Beer and sake were good and included in the HR pricing. Their tempeh dishes are outstanding - tempeh has a wonderful nutty flavor. Small space with more seating in the back (outdoor!), inside has a large TV for watching sports.
There are so many great new places popping up on this once desolate stretch of Washington. This one is definitely worth a visit. We had the nicest waitress who explained the menu well and helped us choose. It’s nice when they actually know the menu. We had the garlic Parmesan fries. These are the good handmade fries, not the frozen crinkle cut junk others serve. They are layered with delicious things so you won’t fight with your friends for taking the good ones. The fried chicken sandwich was tasty but it seemed odd to pay so much for dark meat chicken. Maybe I’m just not a connoisseur. :) The steak sandwich was excellent. My companion had no complaints about it which is rare.
Japanese twists on American comfort foods are the name of the game at Humble Potato. The space is super casual with communal seating and has a comfortable urban feel. The food definitely didn't disappoint. My son and I tried a few things and each was full of flavor and nicely blended American and Japanese styles. I really enjoyed the Katsu Kare Sando with jalapeno slaw. My son also tried a sandwich, the Yakiniku sliced ribeye with provolone, grilled onions and shichimi togarashi on a garlic-butter roll. Both were fantastic and went well with the shichimi garlic parmesan fries which were piping hot and perfectly crispy. Definitely check out Humble Potato for inventive Japanese-American fusion and friendly staff in a relaxing setting.
Huge menu with a lot of great options. Would recommend the burgers over the chicken but loved all the things we ordered.
Hell yeah. These folks know how to make food. I went for small bites instead of a burger, but I will be back for a burger soon. Flavorful, leaning a LITTLE salt-heavy, but not enough to earn a ding...just something to note if you are on a salt-restriction (and if you are, why are you here?) The Japanese style chicken bites were tender, crunchy and packed with flavor. The 3pigs was like what you wish you could have made tots into in college, but you were too high to get it done, so you ate frozen tots instead. Great service, clean space, amazing selection of interesting and unique menu items.

Damn good food!!! The battle royal burger was ridiculous; I'm glad I bought two. After a night of fun it was still good even after being refrigerated! This place is a hidden gem but a little pricey. If you're in the area pop in grab a beer and enjoy and take an extra burger to go... You won't regret it!!!
Humble Potato offers a fun and unique mix of burgers with a Japanese twist — think flavorful patties with teriyaki, wasabi, or curry-inspired toppings. They even have Japanese noodle dishes, which is an unexpected but tasty combo. The place is small and tucked away on a quiet street, with street parking usually available. Great spot if you’re craving something different!
We happened to go on a very slow day and we got casual, quick, and friendly service before we headed to the airport. Nice selection of local beers, canned sake, and some wines. Sweet back patio area! So the carefully structured bahn mi had yummy bread, fresh veggies, and nice fatty pork ($18). I chose the $20 Battle Royal burger. The server asked me if medium temp for the burger was okay, and I emphatically said yes. When it arrived, the burger patty was small and basically well done which was a tiny bummer but the fresh avocado and perfectly cooked & well seasoned egg on top made up for it. Entrees do not come with anything on the side so be prepared to order the crispy fries to share! The only reason I didn't go for the five stars is because due to the open kitchen and prep room/ dish pit being wide open for viewing, I didn't see any of the employees wash their hands or change gloves after adjusting personal hats or touching various surfaces; one guy even fist bumped a customer and then went back to work. The employees all looked like awesome people who I would definitely grab a beer with but they were a tad bit relaxed on the food handling safety aspect of a restaurant-- which isn't a deal breaker since I know exactly how back of houses operate but you would think that some attention to cleanliness would be adhered to with such a wide open kitchen. Come here for fun american/ Japanese fusion burgers & hot dogs, salads & curry and don't skip the local craft beer or imported sake!
I'd better describe it as Japanese American cuisine. Sure the names of the dishes have a Japanese flair but the menu is burgers, fries, etc. The vibe is great, really chill, great playlist. Our server was awesome, so personable and funny. Our service was a smidge slow. Other customers' orders were filled before our. I wouldn't suggest the popcorn chicken - it was on the drier side. But everything else was delicious!

A place called Humble Potato really should consider adding seasoning to their tater tots. I mean, plain tots? Not even some season-all or something? I had the Japanese fried chicken, which was pretty good, but the sauce didn’t go with it. My husbands steak sandwich was pretty good, although a little small for the size. It was quiet in there and seemed cluttered and not the best place to sit and relax inside. We ended up on the back patio, which was better. I will say the staff were friendly and attentive, and did a great job. If I were already nearby, I might give it another try, but it’s not the kind of place I’m willing to drive to eat at.
I would love to give this place a 5, but due to the state of the restaurant and the burgers being just ok, I can't. We walked in, and there were boxes of supplies on the counter, bag of cleaning towels out, other boxes stacked against the wall, looked very messy, you walk through the prep/waiter area and passed the kitchen to get to the seating area in the back. It's no wall or partition separating the alley and trash area, so it smelled terrible and was really an eye sore that I didn't want to see while eating, so we went back inside and sat at the bar looking out the window. The bathrooms were really dirty. The burgers we ordered were ok, average at best. The service was great, though, so they have that going for them.
Really nice and accommodating staff, but the food is just alright for the price. Garlic noodles- perfect amount of pepper and garlic, but was missing like chives or scallions on top and a protein like bacon or guanciale. Would have preferred a bucatini or udon or thicker noodle in general to make it more of an entree The chicken sandwich- the yuzu dressing on the slaw was overpowering, tasted like a lemon sandwich. I think more mayo would have worked. Would have also gone for 2 min longer in the fryer to get the right color and crisp. Also the buns are very plain and cheap tasting. For $19 I would have preferred fries on the side or a larger sandwich. The fries- good, would prefer a ranch sauce or garlic aioli as opposed to the ketchup and yum yum sauce combo.

Just got the regular burger, added avocado, with fries. 22$ total including tax. Did not fulfill my craving of a juicy flavorful burger. Added avocado is not what is shown in the pictures. Without added sauce or ketchup — the burger with everything on it had no taste. Fries were good but a bit too salted.
