Few places capture service, hospitality and creativity. Daniel and his staff prepare an artistic coffee experience with love and dedication. Giving back to the community by way of donations and connecting with their customers with personal service is only outdone by the great taste and choices of coffee confections! Truly a great place for a coffee and dessert. I highly recommend this experience!
This place has really nice decor and ambiance. The red bean matcha latte is very smooth
Great coffee, really awesome latte art, delicious food, chill ambiance, and nice staff. There are board games, Street Fighter, and Pac Man to play with friends. It’s a good place to study and chill. There’s plenty of seating. I highly recommend the black sesame latte (with slightly less sugar) and the prosciutto & brie panini.
This is a wonderful coffee shop. There aren't many study-friendly coffee shops in Bay Area and I always like coming here over the weekends. The Honey Lavender Latte is my absolute favorite. I have also tried their Vietnamese iced latte and it's good too. The Veggie grilled pesto sandwich was decent and had a nice taste. All the bakery items seem to be from midwife and the baker best in the city! Definitely recommend this place. I love the vibe, clean restrooms, friendly staff. I have been there 5 times and would definitely go again!
Cozy and stylish cafe to chill and talk with your friends or loved ones. Cute and tasty breakfast options, classic bakery with butter croissants. Cappuccino is like a real one, not the cup of sweet milk from chain coffee shops. Overall it gives an impression of a European coffee shop with American vibes. I wish we'd have more small businesses like this around the city.
Great Espresso, ordered a flat white, nice complex tasting milk espresso. Sightglass beans and immaculate technique used to pull elegant shots. Great find, near to my vacation flat. It's hard being away from my own machine, but Bitter + Sweet will sub nicely. Looks like this is a spot for putting jigsaw puzzles together and having a good time with friends, there are comfy stuffed chairs, a large communal table and a raised bar with seats and outdoor tables. There are no signs from the street and it's tucked back into a business complex. Worth it to find though. As I got to experience the coffee and the personalities behind the coffee, I have gotten to realise that this coffee shop is unique and special. The staff and owner are professional but also friendly and when I go back to the bay area I will seek out this shop. Great coffee and great experiences here.
Popped over to this place for an after-lunch coffee. The iced Kyoto was bright but not too bright. Loved the practically pure (very little impurities) ice ball served with it. I tried the miso latte (earthy and slightly sweet). I would come to this place again with their artisan-craft pour-over and espresso-based coffee combination drinks. On a hot summer day it was nice to sit outside the store "in the shade" and feel the breeze. There were several customers (solo and friends) gathered in the store right around the lunch hour. This is a cafe where you want to breathe and appreciate the flavor of your coffee and study the assembled puzzles on the walls vs. rushing out the door with a to-go cup and straw.
Can't believe this place has been here for 10 years and I hadn't tried it until now. The red velvet latte was so good! I was expecting it to be super sweet, but it wasn't overly sweet at all. It's extremely smooth and creamy. Even the foam was delicious. I really appreciate the amazing latte art the baristas do. It's not easy at all! It must have taken a lot of time and practice to get the milk texture just right and the pour precise enough to make such beautiful designs. It's a cozy shop with an awesome vibe. I love the unique decorations they have, especially the buffed up bodybuilder Pokemon figurines.
Great ambiance, you can stay and enjoy instagrammable design and table plays and puzzles. Coffee is super tasty, I recommend black sesame coffee for those who prefer not sweet drinks. People are polite and welcoming ♥️
I'm a fan of the black sesame latte. I had a terrific twice baked almond croissant as well. Friendly service. The place has atmosphere and lots of visual stimulation. I liked the quirky Hours of Operation too.
Cute cafe, got a decaf sesame latte while waiting to pickup a family member from the dental place next door. I wish the sesame taste was a little bit stronger but it was still very pleasant and not too sweet. Sufficiently intrigued by the menu to want to come back sometime. The decor starting from the hours listed in front to the stuff inside gives me the sense that the owners have a sense of humor.
Very cool vibe - arcade games and jigsaw puzzles inside. Unique flavors, like red velvet and black sesame lattes. Ask and they'll make even these specialty drinks without sugar which is pretty rare. Authentic flavors and friendly staff.
Very cute cafe! The black sesame was milder than expected but I liked that it was not too sweet. There are chargers at two of the tables- it was pretty empty in the morning. There is wifi available for via a voucher (2 hour and one device limit)

Best real coffee around. House drip and pour over are consistently excellent. Croissants are fantastic. I stopped going to other coffee shops because they are all disappointing compared to Bitter Sweet
I’ve been going to this place for three years and it has always been one of my favorite cafes. There drinks are good, like the blended cookie and cream plus the blended red velvet, and I love their grilled cheese. It offers a great salad on the side too. My encounters with the server have always been good, and I love the atmosphere ranging all the way from the puzzles to the 90’s - 2000’s music. I love this place so much and I will continue to come here.

I used to go to Bitter+Sweet pre-pandemic and it hasn't changed too much since, thankfully it's returned back to the same level of seating again! Good: There are a lot of outlets on either side of the cafe, so a good place to work - you need to ask the front desk for a wifi code since they don't give it to you automatically. It also only lasts 4 hours. I liked the black sesame latte- they make it with condensed milk and it is a sweet drink and is a large size - the drinks come out nice and warm and the latte art is really great. Bad: There are a lot of people here so you might not get all the seating you want! The wait times can be longer than other coffee places too. Overall a good place to work in Cupertino!
Super cute spot decorated in anime memes sports some puzzles, and even a few retro games! It has tables with outlets for those looking for a place to study and couches for more cozy conversation. They also have some pastries and desserts. Got the red velvet latte which looks like a popular choice here and thought the flavor was nice but pretty subtle. Friend got a black sesame latte which she also enjoyed. Too bad they were out of mugs for us so we got our drinks in take out cups. They have quite an interesting selection of drinks that I’m interested in coming back and trying something new!
Interesting coffee shop with many interesting coffee me up like miso latte and pho latte. The interior is unique with a lot of action figure, plant and old arcade machine. It has limited pastries choices. One worker is friendly. One Miso latte is interesting. It has saltiness but cannot taste the miso. I like the arcade machine. The price is reasonable.
Nice cozy place for coffee and tea lovers. Desert options are great too. Taste is great. Mind it, serving sizes are pretty small as compared to boba places. We were a bit disappointed with the smaller quantities.
Nice shop with Japanese and anime themes, good atmosphere. Reminds me of fun coffee shops in Japan. Good tasting coffee, most important! Well made espresso, fresh, good beans, nice tasting without some unusual tastes that some coffee shops have with there bean choices. Strong but not overbearing. Just as the name, bitter and sweet balanced taste.
Amazing pour over and great cappuccino. Good options for food. I had a breakfast sandwich. Small but solid option with egg, cheese and turkey.
I like this place - interesting and good drinks, the best grilled cheese, perfectly baked goods, chill music, handsome furniture and plants (lots and lots of plants). I’ve been going here for years, as many local neighborhood folks seem to do. However, the main barista can come off grumpy. He often responds with curt answers to innocuous questions; and after today’s rude interaction, I just don’t feel like coming back… But I just took my first sip of the matcha rose he made, and it’s so frothy and delicious! And the pumpkin muffin tasted just right - crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside, just enough cinnamon and sweet flavors, and a touch of toasted nut sprinkles… Sigh… I might have to come back after all. 🤦♀️
I tried this place after seeing stellar reviews. First of all their ambience is great with plenty of Gundam and legos. Their service is amicable and the barista was great. I got the red velvet coffee hot and Vietnamese cold coffee. Both the coffee were fresh and refreshing. The red velvet latte was soothing and not too sweet. The Vietnamese coffee had a good caffeine kick and opened my souls instantly after a sip. Too good and I’ll definitely visit back to try more of their flavors.
Awesome coffee! Got the gesha pourover and it was extracted perfectly! Got a bright, juicy cup that tasted excellent. The miso latte was also quite interesting with a small pinch of unami and richness. Paired really well with the coffee. A bit tight on seating, and the spot can get pretty busy. Not the ideal location to get work done or expect a seat for an hour or two. Much better as a quick grab and go spot. Overall, they know their coffee and they know their coffee drinks! Would recommend!
It is a beautiful cafe and has amazing vibes. Even though it is busy, it is usually very quiet. They serve good coffee and bakery items are also good. Internet access is limited for 3 hours for 1 device after purchase. I usually go in the morning before Cupertino library opens. There is parking in the complex but limited spots.
Came by Bitter Sweet for the first time on Mother's day. A few folks were inside. We opted to get our coffees to go. I ended up getting a cold brew. Quick service, friendly staff. Parking along the businesses. I believe you can park in the parking lot attached...but not completely sure.

Bitter Sweet Cafe offers a casual hangout spot with indoor and outdoor seating. While it can get busy on weekends, the atmosphere remains manageable. The cafe's personality shines through with an arcade machine (a nice touch!), action figures lining the walls and counter, and welcoming potted plants by the entrance. I opted for the Vietnamese iced coffee, hoping for a refreshing pick-me-up. Unfortunately, it fell a bit short. The coffee itself seemed watered down, and the cup was dominated by ice, leaving less room for the actual coffee flavor. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly memorable either. The service at Bitter Sweet Cafe was a bright spot. The staff was friendly and attentive. The overall ambiance, with its quirky decorations and arcade machine, creates a casual and inviting space. While Bitter Sweet Cafe boasts a charming atmosphere and friendly service, the quality of the coffee in my experience left room for improvement.

Came to try the coffee and the dessert. The place is nice, the offerings are good, but I am rating it low because the owner was unpleasant to interact with, even though I tried to be pleasant by engaging him in conversation because I thought he might’ve had a bad day, but even that didn’t work, then my hunch of the prejudicial tendencies were confirmed. I debated about three times when I was ordering to just walk out, but I decided not to act on that because that means , he succeeded in making me act towards him in kind., so I took the high road and placed my order. As I read the reviews after my visit I discovered that I wasn’t the only person complaining about the owner attitude or level of courtesy, apparently more had express that notion. Unfortunately, if nothing changes this place will shut down soon. Defiantly, I will not return.
Good coffee. Unwelcoming barista. Makes it a bad experience. I gave them a try after about 6 months and the vibe remained the same. Last time was “you crashed my system”. This time was “put the menu back in the front” and “we serve drip coffee without milk”. I’m sorry for wanting to look at the menu and knowing what drip coffee means.
I’ve tried out this place about 3 times. I’ve gotten a panini and two coffees. Every time I order I coffee I ask specifically if I can have it extra sweet. The employee stated that it would be sweet but when I wanted it more sweet they “had nothing but simple syrup”. It’s a $6 coffee and we have no liquid sweetener? Not to mention this coffee has to be only 6-8 ounces it is as small as a Starbucks small drink. Better off going to Starbucks. At least the employees there say thank you. I also want to mention that their fish tank looks awful!!! Fish look sickly and the water looks bad, sad for the fishes.
2nd visit: reducing to 2-stars - the quality of coffee has reduced over time. Servers are also not warm to their patrons as they take orders. ---------------------------- Low key coffee place with a rich menu. Red velvet coffee was pretty novel of a coffee choice for me and I loved it. The space is an issue and one of the workers sounded a bit rude as he talked to an elderly couple about it.
I'm giving an honest review. The place is nice, the music and the decoration too, the coffee is good, but you will not get a nice experience. Why? Because you need to be your own waiter . You need to grab the menu, put the menu back because he will yell at you in front of everyone, and put your plates away. If you want napkins, you need to ask him because they are not available easily. Each person needs to get a password for wifi, and if you have a different device, you need a new password. I feel like if you are paying a reasonable price and taxes and tips, at least, he should take care of the cleaning of the plates for you. Also, the place is small. I know it is just one person, but if you own a business, it’s expected kindness and service From the owner. One suggestion is that make clear to everyone that it is a self-sufficient cafe. About the price: it is expensive compared with Starbucks or other coffee places, and at least in those places, they have more than one person.

Drinks are fine, I used to come here every week for years but the energy from the staff is very strange. I think there is a lack of social conditioning here, feels like some of the baristas are experiencing a conversation for the very first time. I feel like an unwanted guest. I am a barista too, I will tip regardless, and I don’t need you to be kind —I get it, but please put in a little effort so we can have a normal and neutral social interaction. Every time I order here it’s an original experience. Just prompt me like a regular barista instead of silently dead pan staring or huffing and puffing cause I ordered a coffee at a coffee shop. Bro like can you please be normal 😂 it’s so strange but come here if you want to experience the strangest human interaction possible.

My visit to this coffee shop was extremely disappointing due to a shocking encounter with an employee. We ordered coffee and pastries, and when I went to the counter to ask for a plate to cool down a hot muffin for my four-year-old son, the employee's behavior was completely out of line. Instead of providing a simple plate or saucer, they immediately refused, saying a child would break it. I explained I would be handling it, but they continued to argue with me and question my request for what felt like an eternity. The interaction was not just unhelpful but incredibly condescending. The employee's final act of bringing out a plastic tray and making a rude comment about my son's ability to hold it was a new low in customer service. As a paying customer who had even tipped well, I was stunned by this level of disrespect. A coffee shop should be a welcoming place, not one where a parent is made to feel unwelcome for a simple request to ensure their child's safety. This kind of attitude is completely unacceptable and has ensured that we will not be back.
