Opinions de Cap’t Loui Seafood Boil Cupertino
The place is very clean and seats are comfortable. We had lunch special Cajun seafood pasta, clam chowder and fried soft crab sandwiches. All of them are delicious. They also provide disposal gloves, bip, and wet tissue per person.
Great food and very interesting experience highly recommend we were 3 people order snow crap, snow crab, shrimp and paid only 150 USD in total.
Seafood boil was amazing. We got the 4 lb choice with 3 sides, and for a family of 7 it was more than enough — generous portions for sure. Everything was so flavorful and perfectly seasoned, and we left full and happy. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the service was excellent, and the complimentary ice cream after the meal was such a nice touch. Overall a great experience. We will definitely be back when we’re in town. Highly recommend.
Hands down, this is my go-to seafood boil spot in the area. The flavors are bold, vibrant, and seriously addictive. Everything we’ve tried has been well-seasoned and satisfying. The staff has always been friendly, attentive, and on top of things, which makes the experience even better. Weekends usually come with a wait, but during the week it’s easy to get a table. Prices feel fair for the quality and generous portions. Parking is available in the garage, and the location is a plus—you can walk over to Somi Somi afterward for soft serve and end the meal on a sweet note.
Really delicious seafood available here. This was my first time and it is definitely and experience to remember. It’s quite an immersive activity to have dinner here , which if you like you will have a lot of fun. You are provided with gloves and bibs to save to from the splashing juices which cracking shells. But the food and experience overall is amazing. As a seafood lover I highly recommend this place.
Arguably the best Cajun seafood in the Bay Area. We’re practically regulars here, we come about every two weeks. The headless shrimp, mussels, and king crab are all fantastic. The service is great too, very attentive, and parking is super easy. You can even grab dessert next door afterward with no problem. If I had to point out one downside, it’s that the front door is ridiculously heavy and hard to push open.
I don’t seafood boils often but this has become my reliant staple. The buttery lemon pepper seasoning is absolutely addicting. The amount of calamari and shrimp, if ordered, is incredibly generous; definitely do not feel like they skimp out. The Cajun fries were so well cooked and seasoned. And, lastly, dipping garlic bread into the garlic butter sauce is truly a life changing experience!
As the name suggests, this is a Cajun food restaurant with a Louisiana style. Their most popular dish is, of course, the boiling seafood. I ordered it spicy and went with the 2-combo option. I originally chose it for the crab, but since it’s a bit of a hassle to deal with, now I usually add extra headless shrimp instead. The cashier was friendly, the food was delicious, and I highly recommend a visit!
Cap't Louis 19700 Vallco Pkwy #150 Cupertino, CA 95014 Tried this place on a Thursday evening about 7:15, it was packed and I got on the wait list before getting seated 20 minutes later. Service was really good thereafter. It's a long and narrow setup with no bar, so not good for solos. I got the 1 lb. Clams (frozen) at the Cajun hot level. They were deliciously smothered with minced garlic and by the time I was done, my nose was the Mississippi River. This place is absolutely repeatable, great value and a top recommendation. Parking is behind the place and across the street in an abandoned structure.
Been coming here since they opened -- they used to give 1 corn per pound so each person would get one, but this time there were 4 of us and we only got 1 corn for all of us. Understandably it's probably hard to fit 4 lbs and the corn and potatoes, but it would be nice to have them on the side. Garlic noodles are always great and we normally get Capt Loui sauce (mild). It's also gotten much busier since the last time I came here, and had ~15-20min wait
First visit to Cap’t Loui and it was a good experience! There was a line when we arrived, so we ordered takeout instead. We waited about 25 minutes for our food, so it might be a good idea to call ahead if you’re in a hurry. The clams and crawfish were fresh and live. Head-off shrimp was good as well. The Cap’t Loui seasoning had a nice touch of sweetness and tasted great. The sides exceeded our expectations — both the Cajun fries and garlic noodles were delicious. One thing to note: the price on the wall was for frozen crawfish. The menu didn’t clearly show the price for live crawfish, which ended up being more expensive, so that was a little confusing. Also, the crawfish itself was a bit plain and needed to be dipped in the sauce for more flavor. Overall, a solid spot for Cajun seafood.
Came here after hearing about their $1 Wednesday deal for raw oysters on the half shell! But honestly... I think their seafood boil is much better. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you plan to just get oysters... I really like the Cap't Loui sauce! Although it's your typical cajun sauce, it's not super salty like other places. Very easy to eat. Mild was perfect for me. We got the Pick 2 Boil Combo with Shrimp Head On and Mussels. The shrimp was cooked well and the mussels were a good size! This was a good amount of food for two people to share. I recommend pairing it with the Garlic Noodles! Small portion for $7, but the noodles were yummy. There's melted cheese on top! Back to the oysters... They were shucked poorly. There were bits of shell all over the flesh, and some were mangled into a pool of milky liquid! Not done well at all. Looks like the shucker was in a hurry or getting frustrated? Also... These were HUGE. I'm talking hand-sized big! If you know about oysters, the bigger they are... the better they are cooked. Not raw. So this was pretty disappointing. They were very meaty and somewhat-firm in texture. Not very briny in flavor either. I wasn't a fan. -1 star for the oysters.
When we walk in, the staff told us we can sit anywhere, which was nice. They are surprisingly spacious and have lots of booths. The menu is kinda smaller than I expected but good nonetheless. When you order the boiler combo, try to at least order 2 like for example, snow crab + king crab so you can get the free side and you'll be satisfied. The sides are $6.95 each and it's expensive for a small portion. Onto the main course, the crabs were so good along with the hot special house sauce, made me teared up. However, there were 1 piece of corn and 2 potatoes (the corn was surprisingly sweet but I didn't try the potatoes). We were still hungry so we got the fryer combo of fish + calamari, and fries. Absolutely worth it and can't say anything bad. The drinks were a little underwhelming for me but it might be different for others. Lastly, the service was outstanding. The staffs were very attentive, free mints/wipes, and they have mouthwash in the bathroom. 9/10, would go back sometime
The food tastes ok not the kinda Cajun style that I used to have. It has a lighter taste more like a fusion I would say. Surprisingly the gloves are very durable and I barely get any oil or scent of the food on my fingers with them on. The server girl acts quite weird with a poker face and seems very impatient. Well maybe she just had a bad day but everyone’s life kinda sucks and we need to remain professional aren’t we?
Live crab and crawfish, but it tasted just ok, not super fresh. Flavours was not bad, not mind blowing. Two staff (A short darker Asian & an Indian) was on top of things & super friendly, the other staff(tall Chinese looking Asian) was nonchalant. 1 crab and 2 lbs of crawfish came up to $150 (including tips). Free dessert was yummy if u do a review, maybe that’s why the reviews are so good.
This is a bag seafood cuisine, where you pick your seafood and it’s boiled in a bag with corn and a couple red potatoes. We chose the lemon garlic pepper sauce for ours and it was pretty good. Mild was a little too mild for us so we would choose medium next time. The service was lackadaisical where we had to flag them down for service items and ordering. There is some parking behind the restaurant, which is a big hard to spot from the street. There’s a row of small restaurants there.
Got skimped! I used to come here often and always enjoyed the taste and quality. But on Christmas Day, I got a to-go order for a friend to try and was really disappointed. The restaurant wasn’t even busy, yet the food quality had dropped, and there were only six crawfish in a supposed one pound order. The whole portion also looked smaller than what I’ve gotten before. It felt like we got skimped. Hopefully this was a one-time thing, but it’s disappointing to see a place I used to enjoy go downhill.
Normally this place is has good food avoid the oysters especially on Tuesday during the 1.50 per oyster deal. My girlfriend is sick in bed with food poisoning from a bad oyster. We ate 12/30/2025 and the next day she got sick with no food between. It is definitely not worth the risk and would avoid oysters here as they are probably not fresh especially for the deal Tuesday Wednesday probably looking to get rid of bad oysters. Very disappointing and will look into reporting for inspection or otherwise they need to seriously retrain chefs to better identify bad oysters.
Not recommended!! Well, I don’t know why the ratings are so high at this place. I was excited to try to food here but the whole experience was unpleasant. The food was not okay, I am sure they mixed fresh snow leg and not fresh. There was one snow leg was fresh and tasted good, the other one was totally unacceptable. And you are basically paying for the shell here. And I asked the waiter and he said I was unlucky 🙂 and he smiled. To be fair, their french fries was good thou. My husband felt stomach pain after get home and that’s the only food he had for today. The service was not pleasant as well. I will never come back again and I would not recommend anyone who try to have good food and have a good time to come over here.
